Blockhaus Nikolskoe in Berlin

We went for brunch on November 23, 2025. We were given a wonderful table for two. A very charming, rustic log cabin, perfectly heated, and beautifully set. The staff is more than just knowledgeable; they are attentive and guest-oriented. A pure delight, you should be proud of yourselves as a team. The food was wonderful, varied, cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned, and attractively presented. The drinks selection was also extensive. Therefore, a clear recommendation, we'll definitely be back!

My food arrived lukewarm, and even after I returned it, it wasn't properly heated. I ordered a small Sprite, but it arrived large even though only three tables were occupied. The service was friendly.

Full marks! Since we arrived early, we enjoyed delicious hot drinks on the terrace with a beautiful view. Afterwards, we celebrated our wedding upstairs in a cozy atmosphere with delicious food. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive at all times. The restrooms are clean, and there is ample parking. I would especially like to emphasize that they employ people who might not have opportunities elsewhere! Truly exemplary! Thank you so much for a truly wonderful day :-)

A very well-known name, but the dining room has a cold atmosphere. Despite it being goose season, they didn't offer goose breast. The price-performance ratio for the small goose leg at €32.90 is unacceptable. And the restroom, requiring an uncovered walk of about 30 meters across the courtyard, is extremely unpleasant in the rain. Conclusion: No return visits!

Lovely place, I was there for brunch. At first we thought, oh, it's packed and everything's empty. But then it got better and they restocked. Then they even had duck leg. So in the end we thought, we'd love to come back.

Very nice place, but that's about it for the positives. The food is very average—there are many better places in Berlin. You can come here for a beer, but I wouldn't recommend the food.

We had to wait more than 20 minutes for the bill in a half-full restaurant. And we didn't tip because of it. The waiter then demanded a tip very aggressively. He even said he'd give a €3 tip for the kebab. Good for him. But that's completely unacceptable. If he's poorly paid, he needs to take it up with his employer. But that's not how you talk to customers.

We were there for Sunday brunch and got the last table with a free pick-your-own seating option, as we arrived late due to city traffic. Those after us weren't able to get a table and were escorted to the adjacent building, which naturally meant a longer walk to the buffet. The brunch offerings were okay, but we've had better options for the same price in Berlin.

We were there with a group. The food was good. The view was great. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow. We often had to wait for drinks or reorder. It's a shame.

The food was good. The price was reasonable for today's prices. The view was perfect. But the service left a lot to be desired! There were relatively few customers and at least three waiters, but everything took forever. I watched the first guests leave because they simply weren't served.

Above all, a great ambiance. Excellent service. The food doesn't reach any gastronomic peak.

Beautiful location and really tasty food. Surprisingly was not too busy on a Saturday evening. It was great to walk around in the woods till we got hungry.

Overpriced food and unfriendly service

Nice restaurant with a great view of the Havel River and Peacock Island. The quality of the food was excellent, the waiter very friendly, and the prices were reasonable for the location. It was very busy, and the waiter had his hands full. He did a good job, but it still took a while. But hey, we were in good company and weren't in a hurry. What was really annoying was the parking situation. On a sunny Sunday afternoon, everything was full, including across the street, at Moorlake, and at Peacock Island. It took us 30 minutes to get a seat.

Great view. But unfortunately, the food is bland and the service is slow. I'd only eat ice cream here from now on.

The walk there was very nice despite the rain, the log cabin was okay, a bit dirty, the food was good except for the side dish, I would have liked a proper Berliner Weisse in the right glass and a shorter wait for the food would have been appropriate with only 3 tables occupied, unfortunately we won't be coming back, sorry ☹️

This restaurant has been synonymous with classic German cuisine for years, and it tastes truly delicious! But the real plus is the view of the water: simply idyllic! If you're planning a trip to Peacock Island, you should definitely dine here before or after... Reservations recommended.

We celebrated our daughter's wedding there. A fantastic atmosphere, a wonderful view of the water. Everything went perfectly; the buffet was very generous and delicious. We had a special log cabin for ourselves. It was a perfect celebration.

I'm very disappointed. It took 20 minutes for us to get the menu. The drinks came immediately after ordering. The food came a little later, but only one of two. The second dish only arrived after 15 minutes and another request. It's a shame, because when you go out to eat, you want to eat together. The waiters seemed completely overwhelmed and ill-dressed, as one waiter's trousers slipped down so far several times that you could see his underwear. The food itself was okay, the first dish was just a bit cold.

We had a celebration with about 200 guests. The organization, the food, the service, everything was top-notch. The waiters were very attentive and unobtrusive. The location itself is, of course, a matter of taste. But if you like this ambiance, you'll also be impressed by the view.

We didn't get off to a great start, as the waitress told us the table we had reserved was already taken, even though we arrived 5 minutes before the reservation time. Unfortunately, it was also the last free table in the open-air area. Since we insisted on sitting outside in the 30-degree heat, they opened the enclosed area for us. Unfortunately, the waitress only came once to take our food and drink orders. After we got our food and drinks, no one else came for the next 1.5 hours. It's a shame, we would have liked another drink. We even had to walk up to the front to be served to pay.

The Evangelical Church of Saints Peter and Paul on Nikolskoe (St. Peter und Paul auf Nikolskoe) in Berlin (Wannsee district, near Potsdam) was built in 1834-1837 by order of the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III for the inhabitants of Pfaueninsel (Peacock Island) and Klein-Glienicke. The name "Nikolskoe" comes from the Russian word "Nikolskoe" (belonging to Nicholas) and is associated with Nicholas I, Emperor of Russia (1796-1855), who married the king's daughter, Charlotte of Prussia (in Russia - Alexandra Feodorovna), in 1817. The church was erected as a symbol of Prussian-Russian friendship after the victory over Napoleon and at the request of Charlotte, who wanted to hear the ringing of bells over the Havel River. The architects Friedrich August Stüler and Albert Dietrich Schadow designed it with elements reminiscent of the Russian Orthodox style, such as the onion dome, although it remained Protestant. The site was chosen in an unusual way: the king sailed down the Haveli in a boat, and sailors raised flags in the trees to determine the best site. Nearby is the Nikolskoye Blockhouse, built in 1819 in the style of a Russian peasant house as a gift for Charlotte and Nicholas I, inspired by a house Charlotte had seen and admired in Russia in 1818. Contrary to some assumptions, Charlotte (Alexandra Feodorovna) and Nicholas I did not live in the Nikolskoye Blockhouse; it served as a vacation spot for the royal family and later became a restaurant. Since 1990, the church has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Potsdam-Berlin Palace and Park Ensemble.Automatic bell ringingThe church is equipped with a carillon, which was significantly renovated after the Second World War. Originally, two bells were installed at the consecration of the church in 1837, one of which was melted down to collect non-ferrous metals during the First World War. After visiting Peacock Island, we stopped in for lunch and had a delicious meal. I can recommend the game dish, venison goulash with red cabbage and spaetzle. The latter were cooked in butter a bit too long, so it had a strong flavor. But it's nothing bad. The meat was cooked perfectly, maybe a few pieces too few, but it tasted great. My wife's schnitzel was equally delicious. The price is on the higher end, but the friendly staff and the two chefs all do a great job. The ambiance outside with the view of the lower Havel River perfectly rounds off the whole experience. The restrooms are absolutely clean despite being public, and if you arrive early you'll even get a parking space. We can recommend this restaurant without hesitation; we'll visit you sometime in the fall or winter. Hopefully, they'll have wild boar on the menu then.

As a family, we redeemed a Groupon voucher as a gift there. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food - we had duck, Wiener Schnitzel and roulade - was delicious, generous portions. The dessert - you couldn't choose yourself - could have been more imaginative. The fruit salad - the atmosphere was very quaint. The visit is definitely worth it. Overall, it was great. We will be back.

A truly wonderful place, with a magnificent view of the water and such cheerful staff. We felt very comfortable. The food was fantastic.

A sincerely dedicated waiter tried to get everything under control. The entire team seemed understaffed, which meant that not all tables could be served. Unfortunately, this not only resulted in waiting times, but also a significant drop in quality. The small salad itself was okay, but in the heat, prepared shredded carrots dried out quickly without dressing. When asked for oil, they first brought linseed oil, then balsamic vinegar. The potatoes weren't fully cooked, more like al dente. The pike-perch didn't have any particular flavor either...a shame, because it's an excellent place. The second dish—a beef roulant—was apparently quite good.

We made reservations twice at this beautifully located restaurant. The first time, we received a call saying it was a mistake and the entire restaurant was booked. The second time, the reservation was forgotten. Luckily, there was another free table. However, the extremely fast and friendly service made us forget the frustration. And the food was delicious and highly recommended.

The Blockhaus has been around for many decades and has always been a highlight. It serves solid German cuisine, and the prices for food and drinks are reasonable for a tourist restaurant. The service staff do a good job with a sense of humor. We were thoroughly satisfied!

Service and dining options often lackluster in great locations – definitely not here! 👍 The half duck, for example, was absolutely amazing – it couldn't be better – PERFECT!!!

The food came before the drinks. Dessert was brought while the main course plates were still on the table and remained there until someone finally came and cleared it. My roulade was fatty, and veins, or rather the remains of them, were visible. Very unappetizing. The red cabbage tasted strange... Only the fresh strawberries with ice cream and cream were good. Five stars (ambience) just for the beautiful view.

Hello, Well, that didn't work out once. The reservation didn't arrive at the service. What a shame, the hospitality at the log cabin was different! Added to that was the food, which was very poorly prepared, and the quality didn't match the price at all! Then the cleanliness, for example, of the windows; you couldn't really see through them anymore. The door stayed open, so it was very drafty. Nice atmosphere, friendly service. But : The so-called Finkenwerder-style corn plaice was simply poorly prepared and carelessly presented. The fish was not seasoned or seasoned, tasteless, overcooked and topped with an extremely generous portion of bacon. I know this dish completely differently. Price and performance therefore do not match here.

We came here by chance to celebrate a wedding at the nearby church. Personally, I find the log cabin design from the outside really, really appealing. I’ll definitely try the food here next time I’m in the area. The service staff was exceptionally friendly. The restrooms weren’t exactly spectacular and could have been a bit cleaner, but the overall atmosphere, the ambiance, and the design, especially with the view of the lake, definitely made me curious for more.

So the food was great and the waiters are nice and do their best. The location is a 5/5 anyway. There is enough space, there are enough toilets and parking facilities as well as a children's playground. Today we also had brunch for the first time: it starts with a nice champagne reception and a nice welcome. Unfortunately, some of the tables are a bit narrow. The lunch dishes were very good (salads, meatballs, gratin, and much more). Water, juices and coffee are included. For breakfast there is, among other things: Salmon, bacon, scrambled eggs. Unfortunately, things were always refilled a little late here. I didn't like the fact that the jam was packaged, which gives it a bit of a hospital or airplane vibe. In addition, the sweet part of the buffet (pasta) also looked very much like frozen goods. That's why I have to deduct a star for the brunch.

Highly recommended, Christian was very accommodating and friendly. Top service. Good food and drinks at brunch, we were able to park our racing bikes within sight. A great trip on a sunny Sunday.

What a lovely trip. The restaurant is located on a hill in the middle of the forest with a fantastic view of the water. We were lucky and were able to sit outside. We had a three course meal. The half duck was very tasty and the meat fell off the bone beautifully. It was delicious. If you want to dine here for dinner, be sure to note the opening times. The focus is clearly on day-to-day business. Cash and card payment possible.

Our tablecloth was covered with dirt, after ordering the waiter covered it with cloth dishes, the seat was covered with leftover food and there were dirty handkerchiefs under the table, which was very unsightly. The food and drinks came quickly and were tasty. Given the ambience and prices, attention should be paid to cleanliness.

Everything just fits here. The food was delicious, the location was very nice and a great view in the summer. Parking right in front of the door. The service is particularly noteworthy. Rarely have I encountered such nice, competent and fast people. It's also nice that there is really good German cuisine here and nothing tastes like Convince. Duck was very crispy and the creme brulet was also great. It's best to reserve in advance.

Took us 40 mintues from sitting down to eating with a preservation, our table got pushed back twice for roughly 10 minutes each. They forgot 1 drink and 2 sidedishes on a party of 10. The Roulade i ordered was way too dry even with the sauce from the plate, and the Duck Leg one of the other people ordered was even more dry from their word. Cant really recommened going here on holidays, i hope to god that the food and service is better on non holiday visits. But with the unorganised staff and long wait times, plus the quite not that good food, i just cant recommened this place
