Both in Mannheim and Berlin, the quality is the same! The salads are delicious and the meat is always impeccable.

Already visited twice from the journey home from Dortmund. Friendly service, good food, all in all like in every Block House 👍🏻

Cow was still alive at €32.00. (Ordered medium and half was raw) I was able to kiss the man sitting next to me on the bald head from the other table without trying. Service didn't want to offer anything in return because of an inedible steak.

Everything is great, Ahmed provides great service, other restaurants should learn from him.

I just wanted to be the thousandth reviewer, the 999 annoyed me a bit.

So far everything was fine. Service is ok so far. However, when the store is full, they reach their limits.

I‘ve been here twice now and both times the whole dinner was ruined by the service. They forgot to bring our cuttlery, or our salad, to bring us the menue, etc. Most of the time we just waited for someone to notice us. Food was okay, nothing special but all in all the experience did not even come close to a relaxed evening.

Great steaks and great prices and cooked to satisfaction!!! Reservations are required.

We were there for lunch and, despite the restaurant being full, the service was really excellent. We were regularly asked if anything was missing. We had the table specially arranged so that we could sit comfortably with a toddler and a stroller. The food was delicious, the steaks were cooked perfectly. And: the restaurant is really VERY family-friendly! There are inexpensive but great children's meals (as many fries as you like with ketchup for 2 euros, "real" children's meals around 5 euros) and we were brought coloring pages and crayons. Unfortunately, that rarely happens these days. We will definitely come more often! In addition: we have been there several times now, the food was always great, as was the service.

Everything used to be better, but that was a long time ago: the salad wasn't completely fresh, it was in the fridge. The mushrooms appeared to be from a can and warmed up in the microwave. The potato had also probably been under the warm lamp for a long time. The ice cracked in front of freezing water bridges, which can easily happen if it freezes again several times. But that doesn't make it any better. Steak? It was good and to the point, thank you very much. There were no napkins with the salad either, only when asked. Complaints about the salad were only met with an awkward grin, nothing more. In general, the service was a bit rustic, perhaps due to the location - things are much more well-groomed in Stuttgart or Frankfurt, even when it's hectic. So overall it was too expensive this time for the manageable performance. And yes, we have known the log cabins for 30 years. Pretty good to judge.

Consistently good service and good food. The steaks are the way we like to eat them and always on point. In our opinion, the steaks have an American flavor and that is the reason for us to enjoy a steak there again and again.

Were there today without a reservation. The food was great, the salad was fresh and tasty. The steaks grilled perfectly. The service was attentive and friendly. It's been a long time since a restaurant where everything was just right. Price was reasonable for what was offered. We'll be back.

Ordered a Mrs rump steak yesterday. It was so tough. Complained to the employee straight away. The only answer was that you could put the meat on the grill again. (It was already a little over medium rare, so putting it on the grill again wouldn't have helped!). Then I just said that we would have always had fillet otherwise, it was just tenderer meat. Outrageous! Up until then we had always eaten the rump steak and had also gotten great meat in restaurants. So we definitely won't be going to the Mannheim Blockhouse anymore. There can sometimes be poorer quality meat, but then as a restaurant you have to make an effort to remedy that.

Service was great, steak unexpectedly tough and fried over medium, unfortunately annoying given today's prices, the decor is not to my taste, like something from the 90s

We came to the restaurant with 6 people. We were told we could choose any table. Half an hour later the manager came up to us and said we had to leave that table because it was reserved and he didn't care that no one had warned us about it. Of course we rejected him; we would never set foot in this place again.

You don't get what you order and the staff is rude and rude on top of that. Not worth a visit, this is the worst block house restaurant I've ever been to. So if you want to throw your money out the window and still be in a bad mood, you've come to the right place! Never again !!!!!

So what I was offered here was a disgrace. Service was totally overwhelming. Are you still very unfriendly? And the management. Totally taken. From your servants. I was there with 3 people. It was my mother's birthday. My wife. And my mother? Did both order? A fillet steak medium well and me too... And what did our meat look like? You can see it in the picture. More English. Thereupon. I was asked if everything was OK. I say no to that. I was hit by the servant in the most brutal way. I then spoke to management and asked whether this is how they deal with customers with numbers. And is that okay? That you are served raw meat? The end of song is? That instead of an apology I was banned from the house. I won't put up with that cheek.

Bottomless!!! You can't call it a burger here. For €17 you get a slice of bread (the same slice as the bruschetta), a lettuce leaf and the patty without a top bun or the slice of bread that should be the bun at the bottom. My colleague's steak was supposed to be adequate, but they brought the wrong one. Overall, it's a total impudence, never come here and we won't be coming back. knapsack

Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier, leider aber auch zum letzten Mal. Wir bestellten ein Hüftsteak und ein Rumpsteak - beide medium. Das Hüftsteak war komplett durch, das Rumpsteak dagegen nicht mal medium rare… Das Fleisch schmeckte in beiden Fällen wie Gummi… Wir haben es dennoch aufgegessen, weil wir nicht wollten, dass Essen weggeworfen wird. Auf die Frage des Kellners, wie es uns geschmeckt habe, sagten wir ihm die Wahrheit und baten ihn, das in der Küche kundzutun. Wir hätten uns eine Entschuldigung gewünscht oder ein Angebot, ein Getränk auf das Haus zu bekommen - aber, es geschah nichts! Mittelmäßiges Fleisch schlecht zubereitet, das brauchen wir nicht noch einmal. Schade, früher war hier MAREDO, da sind wir sehr gerne regelmäßig gekommen.

Block House is always worth a visit when it comes to meat dishes, I've never been disappointed here. There are also vegetarian options, so everyone can find something 👍🏼

Steak here are delicious and price wise it is fair. Chefs are funny to talk to and Waiters are happy to help you, Germans tend to be shy and passive aggresive to staff but if you aren't socially awkward, you'll have blast.

Went there three times with friends and ate something different each time. It always tastes good, the quality is consistent, the team seems relaxed and laughs, but maintains a professional manner - so you feel comfortable. The ambience is typical Blockhouse. You can go casual or business and you will always be treated well. It's a pleasure.

The reception in the restaurant was very polite and friendly and very customer-oriented. A suitable table was quickly found. Our waiter, Ahmed, was very accommodating and recommended a steak from a special offer. (Scotland) The perfectly (English) grilled meat was a delight. The pepper sauce went very well with the Röstis that came with the menu. The recommended red wine was great. Thank you. Immediately again. And….we were back. The reception and service were great again. This time Anastasia served us. She was both competent and very friendly. The steaks we ordered are also second to none. Small note: The cooking levels of steaks that I was familiar with, i.e. BLEU, ENGLISH, MEDIUM RARE, MEDIUM, MEDIUM WELL, WELL DONE (the latter of which is equivalent to the sole of a shoe) were probably compatible with those commonly used there. So it's better to ask. My steak was BLEU rather than the ENGLISH one I ordered. Still a real treat. We also received a very, very nice farewell greeting (see picture). Thanks again!

Food was good. But didn't find the service that good. They weren't particularly friendly and you should also be friendlier when taking the order. Some of us were there for the first time and unfortunately we weren't very happy with the way we interacted with customers. I was always happy to be there.

My husband and I stayed here for our 10th anniversary and absolutely loved it. Ambiance is great. Not crowded, no idea why. Lots of space, comfortable chairs (very rare). Very child friendly. With its own children's menu and friendly staff. Staff super accommodating and friendly. Food absolutely great. I usually like to eat my steaks well done but not necessary here. Medium because it was very good. Price performance is top. Gladly again and again.

It is okay steak house. They cab not cook steak zo US Standards. Drinks are small.

Service was just awful. The waiter was rude, took our order very late. It took about approximately 15 till we could order, It took well over 45 minutes to have our food. Terrible place never ever be back. People who order after us got their food before us. THE WORST stake house experience I have ever had in my whole life. Full marks in all respects. The food was very good and sufficient. The service was great and always on hand but not intrusive.

We were in the log cabin for the first time last night. First of all, we had a lovely evening and would love to come back. The service was really great and the employees were very friendly. We had a nice place outside but the atmosphere inside was also very nice. We enjoyed the food, the avocado tartare starter was very tasty. My steak was perfectly cooked, my wife could have cooked the meat 10 seconds longer, but that was bearable. Two things bothered us a bit. On the one hand, the food on the plate was arranged in a very rustic way, it doesn't seem as if any particular attention was paid to the way it was served, the plates at other tables looked similar. On the other hand, we ordered the spinach as a side dish, which was tasty but the portion for just under €5 was very small.

Good food, meat dishes made from high quality meat grilled to perfection. Side dishes okay. Service is trying hard. Ambiance very pleasant. We'll be back.

Haven't been here for a very long time. Had a salad and an ice cream with a latte macchiato and was a bit surprised about the small portions. But service was great. And sitting outside too.

We were here spontaneously. The prices are high, yes. The meat is great and all the dishes were really tasty. The highlight of the evening was the super nice employee Joan - you are by far the friendliest person we have met in Mannheim! They were so kind and attentive. Blockhouse Mannheim! Never! The service is really bad! We wanted to stop there with our 3 children. We were turned away at the entrance door by an employee/seater. With the argument that the children could cause too much crumbs and dirt. After I asked directly whether they would rather not have us as guests, I was given a nod. Of course, I didn't just let that sit and said, are you sure that you can forego the sales and the tip. Finally only 3 tables were occupied. It's a shame that some restaurants are so child-unfriendly. Given the economic situation, this attitude could mean the end. Especially since we usually leave really good tips.

Not another cola for €4.10. Promfrits looked good but tasted like nothing. I don't have to go there again.

Although is not my first time visiting this restaurant across Germany , this is my first time to be asked to clean after my son !! The waiter said to prepare it for the next customer . This Restutant has a kids menu + high chair which means that its a kids friendly restutant . So to be asked such thing is Not Acceptable

Unfortunately the rump steak was a bit tough this time. The last few times the steak was nice and juicy and tender. Apparently it depends a bit on when you get which steak. The prices are OK. There is a generous salad beforehand.

Very good food and reasonable price. Pleasant service. We had steak which absolutely delivered. For dessert I had a Belgian waffle with ice cream and my roommate apple strudel with ice cream. Both were satisfied. Recommend the Argentinian wine with the steak. Gorgeous.

Service was slow, food was not more than ok. Considering the they claim to be steak experts, they fell short of this. Medium rare is almost bloody, interesting that medium rare means something different in Germany. In Nebraska, a restaurant wouldn't dare to serve a steak like this - and we are called the beef state with lots of steak restaurants.

The waiter rudely questions every order that goes beyond a standard order. When the food came and the first (!) bite was taken, it was discovered that the meat and spinach side dish were cold. Another waitress was immediately informed about this, who initially said that this couldn't be the case. After a little discussion, the food was taken away and heated - without success. When I asked further whether everything was OK, this was again answered in the negative. Due to the fact that most of the people at the table had already almost finished eating, they refused to take the food back with them. Ambiance is like any block house… so nothing special. Based on this experience, I would NOT RECOMMEND the Block House in Mannheim.

Tip top. I am an enthusiastic griller and meat lover. For this reason, our visit was more than successful. Service very friendly. The four of us also loved the food. Salad fresh and delicious. The baked potato was very good. The meat is a dream and cooked to perfection. We had three rump steaks and a rib eye mastercut. Price-performance for what is offered, perfect. 👍👍💯💯

Food was good. The meat is fried to perfection. Restaurant and toilets were clean. The staff friendly.

The purest catastrophe! Despite us saying it twice that we wanted it well done, our steak came to the table almost raw!!!! I won't go to any log cabin except Frankfurt. The Mannheim team no go! It's a shame, we expected something different given the prices. Definitely not recommended.
