The only good thing is the location... The white hot chocolate is like boiled milk with sugar. The tiramisu is one of the worst I've ever eaten...we tried to eat it but it was terrible... Also the coffee cookie tasted like playdough..

Pure Scam!!!! It's a tourist scam. We ordered 2 cappuccino and 2 normal croissant. Guess what, the bill is 20 Euro. So we paid the bill with a tip of extra 2 euro. Then we asked how much each of the item costs. She says I don't know and will bring the receipt. Each normal croissant is 5.5 Euro and it's written as Cornetto in the bill, then we asked why it says something else and not cornett and took her to the management and she lied saying we ordered cornetto. Ultimately, we got our difference amount back. She is so shameless she still kept our tip but we don't mind and we pity her. They thought we are a staright tourist target as we are Asian looking (Non white) and can be scammed as we also have our parents with us. Little did she know that we live in Germany and speak German. You wear nice clothes and looking Nice is not the most important criteria for being a waitress. You will need to be honest as well. Most importantly, respect your customers and that's how you grow Not by cheating them. Till the management responds and takes some action about this, I am taking this to consumer forum and sue the managemnt forr wrongful doings. I had my recording gear with me and fortunately, everything got recorded. This happened on 22nd sept (the sunday) around 11:30 AM. Scammers!! Shame on this young lady for trying to scam tourists who obviously assume the bad reputation for the country.

Went there for the first time yesterday. The drinks and wine were good, as was the service. No waiting time for the table (around 6:30 p.m.) and pretty quick service.

Nice ambience, sometimes a bit noisy outside due to the posers heating around the water tower. Drinks are very tasty. Service is very friendly and accommodating. Zoé was responsible for us. I haven't been served so kindly in a long time

After I sat down, I was very rudely informed that there was no free choice of seats, even though half of the seats outside were empty. The waitress said it was on the sign in the entrance area in an extremely accusatory tone. Um...that's a sidewalk and I humanly missed it? I got up and left. Thanks for nothing.

People with headscarves are sent away because it doesn't match the boss's overall image. But people with Pro I$rael T-shirts are very welcome in this café. This is probably because the shop owners are I$raelis themselves and support the gen0z*d that is taking place, because the boss belonged to this group.

We wanted to eat a cake here today and ordered a Sacher cake, but later it turned out that the cake was made with alcohol. This was not signposted and not mentioned at the time of purchase. Because I don't consume alcohol, I wanted to have the piece of cake that I hadn't touched replaced, but the operator was very unfriendly and insisted that I had to pay for the cake even though the original recipe was alcohol-free. I think it's a disgrace to treat customers like that!!

Beautiful ambience in a perfect location. Unfortunately the service today was subpar. We had to go to the waitress to order and pay; the other service employee present seemed to have been overwhelmed by just standing around. It's a shame, we actually know it differently.

Nice restaurant for breakfast. Nice view, therefore the price is a bit high. The selection is good, the service was almost too attentive, as people asked every time whether they needed anything else, it felt like every 5 minutes, a little less often would have been enough. Food was very good, quantity matches the price-performance ratio. Again any time.

Once again we were confirmed that Italians use first-class ingredients. The “Italian breakfast” offered the finest ham, salami and cheese, the “French toast” was juicy with crunchy fresh spinach and crispy fried eggs and the mangolassi muesli was a real taste experience. Our breakfast was a great pleasure accompanied by friendly service. The quiet little place also deserves special mention: we have never seen such lovingly designed toilets!

Apart from a beautiful location, unfortunately a failure. The waitress didn't show up at our table for over an hour. BUT the men's toilet is really shameful, absolutely dark, dirty and smells of urine. Our visit was in the afternoon when it was half full, so a clean toilet and good service shouldn't be too much to ask for. Never again. ADDENDUM TO THE ANSWER FROM THE OWNER: If you really value functionality, please make sure that the toilet is not dark like a cave. In addition, you should not rely on the consideration of your guests, but on your staff. Personally, I will never go to a restaurant where the toilet is dirty again because I wonder what it looks like behind the scenes. I think I'm not alone in this. Furthermore, it's apparently no secret that their staff has never heard of fast and attentive service, you can see that in all the bad reviews, whether last year or 6 years ago.

Not recommendable! We waited 1 hour until we were served. We were deliberately ignored by the waitress! We were among work colleagues and wanted a receipt for entertainment because the bill seemed far too high. We got this after a lot of back and forth (she would have left out the bill beforehand). There was an Aperol Spritz on the bill, which we didn't order. Something like this probably happens accidentally, but the service person deliberately stopped while reading our drinks to the Aperol Spritz. So I'm sure this happens more often. Little tip: Always ask for an invoice. The money is collected in cash and you are only given an amount.

Good opportunity for people who want to see and be seen. One of the hotspots where young women look for wealthy men or sons of rich families. In terms of price, it is more in the higher segment, as long drinks and cocktails cost more than €12-15. Here you tend to drink Sauvignon Blanc for around €30 per bottle. You can also eat here. There are also delicacies such as pasta, burgers, sandwiches and salads.

Disastrous, discriminatory and the guests' noses are way up!!! In this atmosphere, the view doesn't help anymore. If you want to be looked at condescendingly, this place is the place to be.

Waited for too long for food (at least 30 mins), only to be told that it was not available. Then ordered something else, suddenly the original order arrived. Same goes with a cup of cappuccino- waited and waited and then was told to wait a little more. Another 20 mins. Not to mention: food portions are incredulously small - the pancake the size of my palm costs 14€ - and food itself is substandard, which is a shame because the location and the restaurant decorations are nice. I gave 2 stars not 1 star only because the waiter was very apologetic and he clearly was overworked.

Never, never again. Underground is putting it mildly. 5 minus stars would be appropriate. As someone already describes, a pussy bar, see and be seen. Poor people, but maybe they get preferential treatment. I would have with you have to wave to a dog? We wanted to order something and were initially told that we weren't allowed to just sit down and we had to wait. In the course of our presence we have observed that everyone who came sat down where there was space. (Outdoor area) So much for that. The waitress walked past us dozens of times and stubbornly ignored us. After 40 minutes (!!!) I tried someone else, who was friendly and nice and took our order, only after another 20 minutes we still had nothing on the table. A group of three sat at the next table, came in front of us, got up and left in exasperation. We did this after a total stay of around 1 hour. At least the sun was shining and there was at least a nice view of the water fountains in the park. The only positive. ps. By the way, the store wasn't overly full and when I look at the other negative reviews that have had similar experiences and not a single response or apology from Dolcemaro, I think the store is doing really well, what's the little shrinkage that matters here? . But I also think the number of unreported cases is much higher. Not everyone bothers to write a review. Addition I was back exactly after 1 year and this time I only had to wait about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, there was a faux pas when paying, I didn't get change, and there was no reaction to my puzzled face. I didn't say anything because of 50 cents - well the waitress has to live too. But it's still not okay. I'll try again next year (we're always at the May Market)

Trendy, cozy location with outside seating including a heater. Reservation necessary as it is very busy. I can't say anything about the food because we only stopped by for a nightcap.

Disaster service Worst service I have ever experienced. I was quoted an incorrect price for my order and even after I corrected it they still insisted it was more expensive than what it said on the menu. No remaining money was given back AND no receipt at the end. In addition, the waitress was very rude and rude, you just felt completely unwelcome and removed. I've never experienced anything so bold. Business Lunch im Dolce. Die zentrale Lage am Wasserturm und das tolle Ambiente machen Eindruck. Es ist 12:15 Uhr - also gehen wir rein. Ein Schild weist darauf hin zu warten, bis man platziert wird. Ich warte, das Personal macht keine Anstalten trotz etlicher freier Tische. Nach einer Weile sprwche ich den Barkeeper an. Er zeigt etwas grummelig auf die freien Tsiche. Also setze ich mich. Die Kellnerinnen stehen etwas gelangweilt rum. Ich melde mich. Man wendet sich ab und plaudert. Nach einer Weile neuer Versuch. Reaktion: "Es braucht noch etwas". Nach ein paar weiteren Minuten kam eine Kellnerin und dann ging es los... Die Bestellung wurde etwas verunsichert aufgenommen mit der Frage, ob es Lunch schon gäbe. Der gemeinsame Blick auf die Uhr gab wieder Sicherheit. Das Essen (Asiatische Nudeln mit Hühnchen) kam dann zügig und war lecker. 15 Euro waren für ein Business Lunch für die Location und Qualität in Ordnung. Also: tolles Café vom Ambiente. Die Küche war okay. Der Service ist echt verbesserungswürdig.

TERRIBLE. Top 1 worst store in Mannheim. We were strictly forbidden to play card games and the service was extremely unfriendly. In the future, hot chocolate should be called lukewarm chocolate, because that is the truth. In two words…… Aloof establishment. Walk 10 meters further into Café Flo and you will have a remarkable experience, WORLDS better!!

It is always a special time in Dolceamaro. Whether for lunch, dinner or a glass in between, you always feel comfortable at Dolceamaro - like a short vacation! The food is varied and always very tasty!

Gestern spontan auf nen Kaffee dort angehalten… der Besuch war durchweg angenehm! Kaffee war sehr lecker, verschiedene Varianten auf der Karte. Laktosefreie Milch sowie Veganer alternativen vorhanden!! Süß dekoriert und hergerichtet, gemütliche Atmosphäre! Die Toilette hingegen überragend schön!!!

Service overwhelmed without any intercultural competence. No tolerance. Despite free seats on the desired terrace, queues and unwanted seat allocation. After a long time we were allowed to sit in a dark corner, although there were enough other seats available on the terrace (no reservations). In particular, the woman who is specifically responsible for allocating space should urgently be replaced and reoriented. A smile and friendly interaction with customers is an important part of gastronomy. You have to wait a lot of time: until you can sit down, until you can order, until you get the order, until you get the bill. It felt like I was waiting the entire time, a shame. Because the location is fantastic. Unfortunately their service also spoils the ambience.

The store survives thanks to its prime location...you can really, really forget everything else. Prices like in a 5 star restaurant, Service at least makes an effort, but still incompetent.

Stylishly furnished café, slash bar in one of the few beautiful spots in Mannheim, Friedrichsplatz around the water tower. But because it's Mannheim, a three-lane road runs between the café and the square. The beautiful people of Mannheim still gather here, in keeping with the beautiful ambience. I recommend indoor, for the reasons mentioned. But you are definitely in good hands there, whether for breakfast or an Aperol to start the night. The Dolceamaro can easily be forgiven for a bit of staging.

Eigentlich wollte ich nur schnell einen Cappuccino trinken. Manchmal kommt es aber anders als man denkt! Die unfassbar freundliche Bedienung war direkt present und gab mir gleich das Gefühl willkommen zu sein. Ich sagte ihr, dass ich nur kurz einen Cappuccino trinken möchte und ob wohl der Laden gut gefüllt und viel wechselnde Gäste da waren bot sie mir einen ruhigen tisch am Fenster an, obwohl dort auch locker 4 Gäste hätten sitzen können. Den Kaffe habe ich gleich bestellt aber einen Blick in die Karte wurde mir dennoch angeboten! Toll! Kleine Info am Rande! Ich habe selbst REFA gelernt und den Beruf des Kellners über 25Jahre auf hohem Niveau genossen! Ich Maße mir also an, die Arbeit am Tisch bewerten zu können! Und was soll ich sagen, ich bin sehr angenehm überrascht! Sehr freundlich, kompetent, selbstbewusst (ohne Arrogant zu wirken), schöne Umgangsformen und sehr aufmerksam… was will man mehr? Die sehr schmackhaft angerichteten und dargebotenen Speisen wurden nach kurzer Wartezeit serviert, die Frage, ob alles recht sei, kam zum passenden Zeitpunkt ebenso die Zeit zwischen Ablegen des Bestecks und dem Abräumen der Teller war perfekt. Ich hatte nie das Gefühl abgefertigt zu werden oder vergessen worden zu sein. Danke an die Dame! Aus einem angedachten Cappuccino wurde durch das stimmungsvolle Ambiente und die gut platzierte Musik sowie Lichtsetzung dann ich ein ausgedehntes Frühstück! Ich habe mir das italienische Frühstück für 20€ inkl. Cappuccino bestellt! Absolut gerechtfertigter Preis bei der Fülle an qualitativ hochwertige Bestandteilen. Tolle und vor allen Dingen sehr reichhaltige Wurst und Käse Auswahl! Mega saftiges aber dennoch durch gebratenes Rührei, luftiges Brot , Mini Büffelmozzarella Bällchen mit Cocktailtomaten ( Beide Produkte absolute Spitzenklasse). Du merkst schon! ICH BIN HIN UND WEG! Mir gehen diese elendigen Nörgler völlig auf den Geist, die hier alles mögliche beanstanden. 1) Damenklo ist verstopft - was kann der Betreiber dafür wenn Gäste so dussel sind? 2) Die Tische sind zu klein.... - Dann geht zu Mc Donalds! Da sind die Tische größer! 3) Das Personal unfreundich - wie es in dem Wald reinschallt, schallt es raus! Sind eben auch nur Menschen. Und ich konnte schon wirklich ekelhafte Gäste beobachten. 4) Lange Wartezeiten - dann geht mal woanders essen. Da hatte ich 45 Minuten auf Reaktion gewartet. 5) Es gab kein Kuchen mehr - ja, wer meint , er kommt am späten Sonntagachmittag und erwartet eine Auswahl wie in der Konditorei, nachdem am Morgen viele Gäste vorher da waren, dem ist nicht zu helfen. Generell ist zu sagen, das ist nur ein Cafe/Bar mit begrenzter Speisekarte. Wer damit nicht klar kommt sollte sich das mal Verinnerlichen.

War schon oft dort... Location ist super... Espresso schmeckt. Allerdings zahlt man, wenn man bedient wird, fast das doppelte als wenn man an der Bar sitzt. Dann wird auch noch erwartet, dass man Trinkgeld gibt. Schmeckt der Espresso an der Bar anders, wie wenn man bedient wird? Wie ist der Preisunterschied zu Rechtfertigen? Das ist unverschämt... Zumal dann auch die Bedienung einen überforderten Eindruck macht obwohl gefühlt 5 Personen da waren.

Eigentlich ein tolles Café mit bestem Blick auf unser Wahrzeichen in Mannheim den Wasserturm. Gehobenes Publikum und viele Möchtegern darunter. Sehen und gesehen werden ist dort das Motto. Zeigen was man alles hat damit andere sehen was sie alles nicht haben 👀

Liebes Dolce Team, ihr solltet wirklich an der Qualität eurer Servicekräfte arbeiten…. Nur weil das Dolce zu „den Adressen“ in Mannheim gehört, sollte das nicht zu einer unangebracht Arroganz der Personals führen… Ich kenne das Dolce schon seit vielen Jahren aber der unterdurchschnittliche Service war immer ein Kritikpunkt. Schade, dass daran offensichtlich nicht gearbeitet wird zumal der schlechte Service in sehr viele Rezessionen erwähnt wird.

Unfreundliche Personal, 1,30 Std gewartet auf unser Essen. Ambiente kitschig aber schön. Cappuccino war ein Genuss. Preisleistung bisschen teuer .

Am Sonntag um kurz nach 10 angekommen. Wurden an ein Tisch gewiesen und über 25 min hat uns keiner Bedient, bis wir paar mal die Kellnerinnen ansprechen mussten. Darauf dauerte es für zwei Brote (1x mit Avocado und 1x mit Lachs) über 1 stunde bis es serviert wurde. Bedienungen unhöflich, da es zu viel verlangt ist sich von ihren Gästen zu Verabschieden oder ein lächelns zu schenken. Kein Koordinierung bei der bestellung aufnahme und beim Servieren. Da ich selbst als Kellnerin arbeite, ist das meiner meinung nach ein riesen Minus. Ambiente war schön, essen lecker aber zu lange gewartet. Cappuccino sehr gut.

Selbst nachmittags gegen 15:30; Uhr, außerhalb der offiziellen Küchenzeiten, wird noch eine Speisekarte, die neben zahlreichen (Soft-) Drinks, Kaffee, Kuchen, etc auch eine großzügige Auswahl an kalten und warmen Speisen angeboten. Die Speisen, der Espresso und Kuchen schmecken hervorragend. Das (weibliche) Servicepersonal ist nicht nur nett anzusehen, sondern auch sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. 1A. Mit Blick direkt auf den Mannheimer Wasserturm inkl Parkanlage würde ich, obwohl ich Nicht-Mannheimer bin, mal behaupten, dass dies erste Wahl in Sachen Location ist. Die Preise sind zwar ein wenig höher, aber aufgrund der genannten Vorzüge durchaus gerechtfertigt. Ganz klar: Volle 5 Punkte!

Schönes Ambiente, tolle Lage. Leider sind die Preise immens gestiegen. So werden für extra Brot zum Frühstück nochmal 6€ berechnet. Ich möchte erwähnen, dass das Frühstück für zwei Personen bereits knapp 50€ kostet, das Brotköbchen allerdings nur für eine Person ausreicht. Leider ist nicht jede Serviceangestellte aufmerksam.
