Old-fashioned Bavarian atmosphere, small portions… I wouldn't go there again. The service was quick, but we were also the only guests…

This was our first time at this Blockhouse; we usually go to the one on Leopoldstrasse. We weren't happy with the food this time. The soup downstairs was still ice cold, and the meat, at €36, was far too fatty. Other items were also a bit too cold, and the bread was soggy.

I was at the main train station and thought I'd grab a quick bite. That was a mistake: the steak was okay, but the service was slow and rushed, even though the place was empty. If the cook hadn't been paying attention, I probably would have waited forever. The waiter didn't respond to the cook's call, so he had to bring the food himself. The cook saved the day. On top of that, they forgot the sauce and brought it to me when I was already halfway through my meal. I'm definitely not going back.

Everything is perfect until you taste the meat. They definitely should improve the beef cooking skills.

Very friendly staff and good steaks. Of course, it's not cheap, but we were surprised how good it was. Right next to the main train station, and the atmosphere is really nice.

Really good customer service, the waiters are polite, speak English and smile! The food is indescribably good, red wine and steak, is there a better combination! The steaks are really tender and juicy. The price level is reasonable considering the quality of the meals!

I was there yesterday with a friend, and without a reservation, I still got a seat 👍🏻. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food and, above all, the speed of service were top-notch (I hate long waits in restaurants) 👏🏻. In summary: another BlockHouse restaurant has completely met my expectations. I will visit other restaurants in Germany ☺️. If I ever find myself in Munich again, I'll be back! Keep up the good work...

The food was really good. The steak was cooked perfectly. The potatoes could have had a little more sauce. I'll come here again when I feel like having steak.

Steak was very good. Fries were lukewarm. No steak sauce. Only after asking did I get a not-so-good sauce. Coleslaw was horrible. Waiter was a disaster. Not particularly customer-oriented. He brought salad with his thumb in the salad bowl. Bam! Bing water bottle and glass. Of course he didn't open the bottle and fill it with water. When I asked if I could have a lemon for the water, he came with half a lemon. He said I wanted a lemon with the steak 🙄. But I could have it for the water, too. Said I could cut it up... crazy!! After the whole disaster of the evening, the bill came. They charged €0.30 for a lemon (for water)... awesome. The waiter simply said, "He doesn't set the prices, the management does that." The manager acted correctly and would have canceled the order. We declined. The waiter, on the other hand, was unfortunately really nasty. He started arguing and arguing with us...wow, very professional. Of course, after tonight, we'll be visiting this restaurant for the last time.

Why on earth u sell a burger without brioche? It doesnt work

I had the burger, deconstructed. The meat was to die for, the garlic bread was perfect. The potatoes were very good. It lacked a bit of sauce to finish the potatoes, and the coleslaw was lukewarm, so it was ruined. Efficient service and quality products 👍

We fell upon Block House as a “we are starving” moment, and we are very happy! Especially considering it is Oktoberfest opening weekend, the service was great, food was outstanding!!

The food was excellent, but the service left a lot to be desired. I had to ask twice to get the menu. The salad brought by the waiter was simply drizzled with a sauce—despite three different sauces to choose from—and no one asked what I wanted. A dispute between a waiter and a barmaid over a "dishwashing rag" certainly shouldn't be played out in front of the guests. The head waiter (in a suit) also didn't seem particularly motivated and even overheard the argument. It's a shame, but I'll be avoiding this Blockhouse in the future.

The food is good and the atmosphere is nice, but the problem is the service: first of all, no one speaks English, then almost all the waiters except Roberta and a Greek waiter seem pissed off and waste a lot of time chatting among themselves, then they don't understand orders and do more or less as they please (I ordered a strudel without ice cream and it was delivered after half an hour with melted ice cream on top). As for the rest, aside from the fact that they even asked for a tip, we're not complaining because the food was good. It's a shame the waiters weren't Roberta and the Greek waiter, whom we love. In the end, we feel like we were snubbed because we didn't order a drink. In fact, immediately after ordering, the waitress started arguing with other waiters (not Roberta and the Greek waiter, who work diligently and slavishly) and from there she simply stopped coming to us, always sending other people over except at the end to get a tip.

Waited around 5-10 minutes at the sign "wait to be seated" just to hear that we can sit anywhere we want. T bone steak was a solid 2/5. We didnt get asked what temperature we would like the meat to be and it was very watery. Feels like the meat was melted to be cooked so not fresh. Salad quality was not the freshest. Best part of the whole dish was the bread with the garlic butter.

We have been to others in this franchise before and they are all excellent but I feel that we had the best meal of all today

Unfortunately, the terrace was closed at 4 p.m. on September 2nd, and we had to eat inside. The food was good, and the price/performance ratio was excellent. The staff was friendly, but the restaurant downstairs was very loud. They handled cutlery very loudly, and the salad bar was also very loud and had a Mediterranean feel to it. Lo and behold, after a waiter/shift change, the terrace opened...

Good food, a tender, tasty, and juicy steak cooked to the requested doneness. French onion soup with an authentic French flavor. I love this chain and return to it every time I’m in Germany.

It's a good place for a reasonably priced meal, a mix of Foster's and Vips. It's across from the Munich train station. Recommended.

Fantastic! They really know their stuff when it comes to meat! We ordered the filet mignon, medium. We've also ordered takeout in the past. Everything arrived piping hot, and the steak was perfectly medium-well. If you love steak and value quality, this is the place to go. Addendum: They also offer vegetarian dishes and lunch specials. There's truly something for everyone! Verdict: Highly recommended!

The cattiness between the staff is very palpable. Everyone is pushing the work onto someone else. For example, taking orders, working the salad bar, serving, paying, etc. The food would be good.

Great food, but service was a real letdown (maybe just an off night). I had dinner at Block House Elisenhof in Munich tonight. I’d often walked by intrigued, and finally decided to give it a try. Sadly, my expectations weren’t met, and I left rather disappointed. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy when I arrived, and I was seated quickly. However, I wasn’t given a menu until I repeatedly tried to get the staff’s attention — first with eye contact and hand gestures, and eventually by calling out more loudly than I would have liked. Only then did I finally receive a menu. Once I ordered, things went smoothly: the food arrived quickly and was quite good. My main course was tasty, and the dessert (a molten chocolate lava cake) was easily the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, service remained inattentive throughout. After each course, my plates were cleared without any follow-up (e.g. asking if I wanted another drink, dessert, coffee, or the bill). Each time, I had to actively call out to get a menu, place an order, or request the bill. At no point did anyone apologize for, or even acknowledge, the repeated lack of attentiveness. The staff was polite and never rude, but simply not attentive. Having worked in hospitality, I understand that not everything can run perfectly all the time, and I don’t want to come across as pretentious. Still, the overall experience was disappointing — particularly from a service perspective. Maybe it was just an off night, but as it stands, I don’t feel inclined to return anytime soon.

The Block House is—as usual—a solid steakhouse. The food is decent, and the service is attentive and friendly. Definitely recommended for a quick steak between meals.

Can’t really comment on how the food is cause the waiter YELLED at us asking ‘how many’ and when I told him we just want take out cold drinks, he said we don’t serve ( also yelling)…like one of those abusive husbands in movies, quite terrifying actually. I was with a group of 4 other Asian seniors so I don’t think we looked like we were about the rob the place. I hate to think it’s our race because everyone else so far been very friendly. Anyways, beware of waiters having a bad day!

I love Block House from stores I went to in Baden-Wurttemberg. However this location is the first I ever tried in Bavaria and Munich. I must say, I am so disappointed by the experience, even by my favorite of all time the baked potato with sour cream. The sour cream does not at all taste like homemade anymore here - the meat patty of the "burger" caused us stomach cramps already on the way home. This restaurant is sought out mainly by foreign tourists visiting Munich as it appeared. While my steak "Mrs." was fairly good this cannot make up for the bills disappointment in the rest of the food quality and taste nor the lack of any waiter actually being interested in us and looking after us.

I was dining alone, and the seating wasn't large. The waiter took a long time to take our order. I ordered the restaurant's recommended American Tenderloin steak combo (which came with salad, bread, and a baked potato). The sides were delicious, but the beef had a fishy smell and a bitter taste in the burnt areas, which was very disappointing. I later heard that the quality of the chefs at this restaurant varies, and I'm advised to try another chain.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is of very good quality, and you feel very comfortable and well served, but only in winter. Then you have the option of sitting upstairs, which is much larger than the squashed lower level. It's not at all cozy there, and the noise level is reminiscent of a train station concourse—you really can't relax and enjoy your meal here.

There was even a mouse crawling around between the tables. The wait for the food was long. The table was shaking badly. And all of this for €100 was abysmal.

As always, Block House didn't disappoint. The service was friendly and attentive, and our special requests were perfectly accommodated. The assistant restaurant manager, Mr. Thien, made us feel truly welcome. We'd be happy to return.

The food was very tasty. Unfortunately, one steak wasn't as ordered, but it was grilled without any problems. The service was very friendly.

Unfortunately, this was the worst restaurant visit in a long time. The menu, which was offered on a board at the entrance, was no longer available because lunchtime had passed 15 minutes ago. That would have been okay if the board had been put away afterwards. But it remained at the entrance the entire time of our visit. Two other (cheap) dishes on the menu, which we then chose, were also no longer available. The drinks took a relatively long time to arrive (but still acceptable), and we then waited a full 45 minutes for our food. When the waiter noticed that we were annoyed, he apologized several times but didn't even buy us anything. I would like to say that the wait was worth it in the end, but the food was simply terrible. A joke for the price!!!! I was very annoyed!!!

The food was okay, as in any Block House, but the service was abysmal. We were there at lunchtime, and even though it wasn't busy, we had to remind the waiters several times to order, and then sometimes waited 20 minutes or more for a drink or dessert. Even the bill wasn't brought until we'd ordered three times. You definitely don't feel welcome there.

Unfortunately, only the downstairs area was open – it was extremely loud and cramped there. The meat was very tasty, but the salad didn't seem particularly fresh and the fries were very dry. This isn't the Blockhouse quality we've come to expect. What a shame.

Party of 4 walk-in, late afternoon of Sunday 13th June. When on trips to Germany, we always visit Block House. Nurnberg, Düsseldorf and now Munich. We know what to expect from this excellent steakhouse. Two ribeye steaks One burger and chips One Turkey and chips The waiter (sorry no name) was very welcoming, friendly and energetic. The food was superb, as expected. Steaks cooked perfectly, plenty of chips and a slice of bread. I asked our waiter for some pepper sauce, which appeared very swiftly. For desert, the ice cream, fresh cream and strawberries was delicious and there were a LOT of strawberries. Helles, Weißbier and Radler accompanied the food, which were delicious. Block House is highly recommended. I have always had an excellent experience in their restaurants. In Munich in August and will be having a other steak there. 100% guaranteed.

The waiter at the station only had four tables. It took a while for him to notice me and seat me. The advice wasn't exactly great either. I expect people to know how things are prepared. But he was nice and friendly. Food... Filet mignon, arrived lukewarm, tasted soggy. The salad felt like it had more oil than lettuce, and the portion of seasonal vegetables was really cheeky. It also tasted bland.

I've been to this steakhouse several times. But I have to honestly say, Mommy is getting less and less for her money. The taste was nothing short of 'Dritt Classic'. And the service was absolutely terrible. I'm not going there anymore.

The meat quality was a solid 4 stars, but they need to improve their meat temperature control, especially for rare, medium-rare, and well-done. Everyone at the table had a temperature that they didn’t request. The Terra Noble Cabernet was smooth and a perfect pairing. However, the potatoes were underbaked and a bit hard. The starter salad had a wonderful vinaigrette that made me want more. Overall, I would recommend this place.

The steak was ordered medium rare but it was actually a bit overcooked. It took an hour from ordering to serving. We went to the restaurant after 2pm, so theoretically we shouldn't have to wait that long. We also waited a while for the checkout. The only good thing is that the price is reasonable for Munich.

I was at the restaurant at lunchtime. Although it's on the main street, the dining area is beautifully surrounded by flowers, so it's hardly a bother that it's a bit busier. As usual for lunch, there was a starter salad, which tasted very good. However, when the Cordon Bleu (Thursday special) was delivered, the cheese cube inside was not only not melted, but the meat was also half raw... It was taken back without hesitation. The second time, it came back partially, but the cheese still wasn't melted... So it went back again. The server, however, was very accommodating and immediately offered another dish, which also tasted very good. Perhaps the chef was having a bad day? They only charged for the dish ordered. Otherwise, a good restaurant!

We sat down around 18:05 and decided to order after a few minutes. We told one waiter we were ready, but he told us to wait for his colleague. I tried to signal the one in charge of taking orders—he saw me, but went to do something else. A few minutes later, he stood next to me, and I said again that we’d like to order. He said “second” and left again. By 18:19, no one had taken our order. I had to wave the menu to finally get someone’s attention. Instead of apologizing, the waiter came out and asked me, “Are you angry?”—in a sarcastic tone. I said we had waited a long time, and he replied, “That’s normal, there are a lot of people.” He was impatient while taking our order, tossed the coasters on the table, and I had to repeat every item 2 times. Unlike other tables, no one came to ask us how the food was. I can understand waiting when it’s busy—but being ignored multiple times, spoken to sarcastically, and treated with impatience is simply unprofessional. This is not the kind of service I expect from a restaurant.

It was simply delicious! It was my first time at a Block House and definitely won't be my last. I was here with two friends. The service was super friendly and personable, the steak was prepared super quickly and was so delicious, I've rarely had anything so good! I have been here a number of times but Today was not a good experience. Meat was tough, the potatoe was old and tough too and there was a mouse running next to me.

The food was very good, as was the service. The prices are quite high, but definitely justified for the quality. Highly recommended, especially since we were also welcome with our dog.

Unfortunately, I'm not used to Block House. Some of our favorite dishes were unfortunately no longer available, so we had to resort to (more expensive) alternatives. Furthermore, we had to wait a long time to order, for our food, and to pay, even though the restaurant was relatively small. The food itself was excellent. The service also repeatedly asked for more information. Dessert was offered. However, I'm used to something different from Block House.

Maybe because they couldn't wait to close but never had a dinner like this before. Annoying waiter who demanded what to make us eat, then the various meats arrived, they were inedible because they were all burnt on the outside and this did not allow us to understand the quality of the product. They definitely hadn't cleaned the plate and you can't present a dish in that condition. I will never set foot in that place again unlike the other one located in Leopold Strassen. Rating -2

I was eating there with a friend and not only found a hair in the salad but also MICE running around freely. When I told the waiter he laughed at me and said it was Mickey Mouse. When I talked to the manager, she told me that we were in the main train station and that it was “normal” for something like this to happen. She also said that you can also see mice in the subway and that's why it's not that bad. Really very unhygienic.

The shop looks fine on the outside but today, April 24th, 2024, late in the afternoon I went there with a friend and we saw mice, just disgusting and unhygienic.

Not the best steak by any means. Not a bad steak. Unenthusiastic but ok service. A total lack of ambiance. Very much a “nothing wrong but nothing right” sort of a visit. If you’re ok with just an ok steak, go for it, it should indeed be ok. If you’re looking for a special evening out, skip this place.
