Bitburger Wirtshaus in Trier

Found by coincidence, very happy about it!

The food is good, although there is still some room for improvement (4 out of 5 stars). There is a lot of choice at breakfast. I would recommend using containers with a heat supply for scrambled eggs and the like, as the scrambled eggs are often cold. Very nice and friendly service. The ambience is great, but there has been an unpleasant smell in the front room near the counter for some time, so 1 star deducted for the ambience.

Salad came after the main course… The waiter asks: “What do you want?” and says to the service-adjusted tip: “Oh wow”. Cocktail arrived after about 15 minutes. Food and price in the green

We waited a long time for food and drinks. 4 drinks were brought in 3 tours. The food was inedible. From salad to schnitzel, white sausages and knuckle. There was also a pretzel that was so hard you couldn't even break through it. After complaining, a new one arrived half an hour later and was baked. I used to really like it here; but the quality has seriously deteriorated in the kitchen. Too bad.

Today we were at the Bitburger Wirtshaus in Trier for the first time. There was nothing wrong with the ambience and the service. Unfortunately, because of the food. The veal meatball curry that my wife ordered was good. Unfortunately my burger doesn't. The meat was fried to death and completely dry. The bacon on the burger, on the other hand, was raw, although you would imagine it to be fried crispy on a burger. The fresh onions indicated on the menu were eventually found as 2 small strips. Despite everything, I ate the burger because it was quite edible. Just take it as a small, well-intentioned suggestion for improvement.

Reservation was problem-free. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Recommended us the knuckle, which was really excellent. Delicious food in a great atmosphere. Always my pleasure.

If you want to have a leisurely buffet breakfast, then you've come to the right place. From various rolls, bread etc, to scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon mini sausages, everything is available. There is a large selection of side dishes, such as sausage, cheese, jam, Nutella, etc. The staff is polite and serves very quickly. There is plenty of seating, but it's better to reserve a seat on weekends. And all of this at an absolutely fair price.

Good prices, great drinks, delicious food, super friendly conditions, good location, would love to come back

There were 3 of us there today. The food was delicious, we were happy there, and the prices were okay too. I really liked the atmosphere. The only thing we didn't like was that it took a long time to get served even though there wasn't much going on, which was a shame!

We were very disappointed with the breakfast buffet today. Unfortunately it has worn off a lot :( Cheese is dry (it has been left for too long) there is no more orange juice to drink and instead there is only 1x multi juice per guest. For the money including hot drink, there are better breakfast locations in Trier. Very unfortunate.

We were there for dinner with 4 people on December 31, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. and planned to stay there until midnight because the opening time was stated until midnight. At 10:55 p.m. our very nice waiter came and said that the “last round” would be at 11:00 p.m. and that he would take our order then. When he came back to our table a little later than 11 p.m., he announced that the bar manager would no longer be serving drinks and charged us. At 11:40 p.m. all guests were basically thrown out of the restaurant, even though the opening time was stated until midnight and was also posted on the door. The fact is: This restaurant has embarrassed itself to the bone and we will not be guests there again.

I often pass by this brasserie, it has large tables if you are with family. Good and plentiful food in style. Good beer. Bathrooms this time not very clean.

The atmosphere is good, the beer tastes amazing and the german food is good. Would recommend visiting when in Trier.

Warning about the children's burger, this consists of a dry patty on a dry bun. The whole thing for €5.90. “That’s what we do here!” After all, this was not charged in response to my complaint, a desirable indication of the special type of preparation, but "did not want to be discussed".

Our ritual for years, two days in Trier and dinner and breakfast here the next day. The food is always delicious and everything is freshly prepared, the breakfast is very rich and always freshly replenished at the buffet, the staff is always super friendly and very attentive. We are already looking forward to the next visit 😉

Unfortunately, I have rarely had such bad service! Ordered a cocktail for happy hour at 10:30 p.m. and, despite asking repeatedly, didn't get it until 11:15 p.m.! Unfortunately the cocktail (Long Island Ice Tea) didn't taste good at all. After I told the bartender this in English, he just made an unpleasant gesture! After the boss came, he tried to tell us that we only waited 19 minutes, which was definitely not true! But it was less about the waiting time and more about the treatment of the bartender and the customer, which the “boss” didn’t see! Unfortunately very unsatisfactory!

We were here on a Saturday evening in Advent. The restaurant was very full around 7 p.m. and reservations were not possible. Nevertheless, we got a table quickly and were served just as quickly and very friendly. Four of us ate here. The Wiener Schnitzel was underground. It was fried and for quite a long time so it was hard. Unfortunately the fries were lukewarm. Salad was a ready-made salad. The tarte flambées were ok.

The food and service used to be better

Waited 20mins for Service. We were in a very obvious area opposite the open kitchen and in front of the cash register. Staff members passed by us multiple times, joked with each other at the cash register but no one came to take our orders. I've been here numerous times in the past 10 years and was always very pleased. This is truly a shame. I hope you improve. You have lost a customer due to your lack of customer service. There were enough waitstaff, there is no excuse.

My wife and I had dinner at the inn today. The ambience is really nice. But when it comes to food, opinions go way down. I had the bratwurst snail with sauerkraut and fried potatoes. The snail was okay, the sauerkraut was very good. But the fried potatoes lacked seasoning and onions. My wife had cheese spaetzle with salad... or rather salad with cheese spaetzle. The salad was in the majority, but also a bit bland. The cheese spaetzle, a minority, a bit mushy and without fried onions, as we usually know it. There was also a lack of spicy cheese, instead just tasteless Gouda. The highlight of the visit was our service person Dennis, a service provider like the rest, friendly and courteous and yet reserved. Because of him we will come back.

The food is nothing special. The service staff seemed to have too much to do, as we sometimes had to wait 40 minutes for our drinks. It's very loud.

I've been to the pub in Trier several times and so far it's been okay. But this time I was really horrified because I was served bad chicken, even though it smelled strongly of old fish. I was lucky that I only ate a tiny piece and didn't catch any salmonella. I'm appalled that a chef would serve something like this and not smell or see it. The meat didn't look good either. For me, something like that is a no go and I won't eat anything from it anymore.

A reservation is definitely recommended. The quaint inn was packed, but luckily we had reserved. Ambiance is rustic and great. The food is delicious. Everything tender and delicious. Portions are large and the price-performance ratio is good. The service was very nice and attentive.

Everything was great, and we were very lucky to find a free table for 7 people without reservation on a Saturday evening. The staff was very friendly, the food was super and prices were reasonable.

A little later on Sunday evening we were in Trier looking for a way to have another beer. Since everything was closed, we found the Bitburger Wirtshaus. We arrived in time for the final round of orders. The waiter was super friendly and even took on the -successful- search for peanuts despite it being close to closing time and almost sold out. This was actually a life-saving measure!!! We were able to drink a nice draft beer very comfortably.

Plenty of choice of food and drinks, even if not everything was always there 😉. Nice atmosphere and a pretty big store. The QR system ensures that you are still served fairly quickly.

Ambience very good. Unfortunately, due to the tourist orientation, the menu hardly offers any unique selling points...the same dishes as in many other locations. In summer a great place to relax on the large terrace.

Happy hour for drinking cocktails: great idea. However, it took a long time for the drinks to arrive (over 20 minutes)...otherwise a nice atmosphere

Very great gastronomy in the middle of Trier. Cozy and unusual ambience. Food/drinks/breakfast always very good... and...SUPER service, I always feel very comfortable there.

Service very friendly. Food is mass-produced, tastes okay but nothing special. Drink orders can take a while on Saturdays. Online ordering via mobile phone is positive. However, this does not speed up the service.

Waiting... Forgetting... Aperitif arriving after the dishes... Dishes if you can call it cooking...

A nice pub with a suitable menu and many different types of beer

Great breakfast buffet on a weekday in a cozy atmosphere. The selection of food is great and the staff is very friendly and attentive. We also felt very comfortable here as a larger group. We'd love to come back! Highly recommended!

Had dinner there with friends earlier. I ordered half a chicken. It was fried ice-cold and tasted nice and fatty. Dry and chewy. Simply disgusting. I told the waiter and he just said dryly, sorry, it happens every now and then. Really bad!

I was in the restaurant today at lunchtime, I ordered 2 drinks and 1 salad, it took 1 hour until I got the drinks and the salad!

Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente in dem Lokal hat uns sehr gut gefallen und das Essen war auch sehr lecker, allerdings habe ich in einem Brauhaus auch schon besser gegessen. Daher nur vier statt fünf Sterne.

Excellent place to have good beers. Plenty of varieties of beers and drinks. Helpful service, where the attendant always came to ask if we needed anything, very attentive to the surroundings.

Der Service war ohne Worte. Gläser wurden nicht abgestellt, sondern aufgestampft. Nicht einmal fiel das Wort bitte. Die Bedienung stützte sich auf den Stuhllehnen ab beim Warten auf die Bestellung. Das Essen war einfach nur geschmacksneutral, Kartoffelsalat mit tatsächlich ganzen kleinen Kartoffeln drin. Die Pimientos waren angebrannt. Der Thunfisch war komplett durchgebraten. Lächerlich. Der als Vorspeise bestellte Beilagensalat kam zur Hauptspeise. Der Kellner war einfach nur frech bei Beanstandungen. Eine durchgängig schlechte Erfahrung.

I went to the restaurant with a group of 48 people, with a reservation of course. Unfortunately very disappointed: The waiter was okay, but it's a disgrace to charge €1 for a mustard and deny me a sip of a type of beer to try. I wanted a sample so I would have to return a full glass if it wasn't to my liking. I am 1000% sure that I and my 48 guests will never visit this inn again!!!

The inn is located close to the center in a former officers' casino, together with an Italian restaurant. Large space with an estimated 350 seats. We came unannounced at the end of the season and found a place without any problems. Due to the size of the restaurant, the atmosphere seems a bit cold and anonymous, but our waiter was able to make up for this with his humor and friendliness. We were very satisfied with our food and can only complain very little, if at all. Thankfully, the inn also had beers other than Bitburger. The hospitality was quick and there was no long wait. We were satisfied and would definitely come back.

Op een drukke vrijdagavond waren wij blij dat wij hier nog met 6 personen terecht konden. Wat meteen opviel was de bijzonder vriendelijke bediening. Wij hebben gewoon heerlijk traditioneel en gezellig gegeten. Lekkere wijnen. Cocktails halve prijs op dat moment. De Apfelstrudel kon ik met mijn echtgenote delen. Dit is echt een aanrader.

There were four of us in the inn on Saturday September 21st. At first everything started promisingly as almost all the seats were occupied due to a celebration on the square. An employee then found a table for us, which we were grateful for because we could watch the colorful hustle and bustle. Unfortunately, the staff seemed overwhelmed as they dashed across the square like frightened 🐔. Yes, there was really a lot to do, and things could go wrong... But stalling guests by promising 100 times to clear away the plates from the neighboring table while the wasps have made themselves comfortable there is simply not possible. When it got darker, we made it a point to turn on the fancy lights while people were already using the light on their smartphones to study the map. This was initially ignored. The food was more than mixed. Tk vegetables and the small schnitzel I had looked like a ready-made schnitzel. Two of the three other friends were also dissatisfied. But I don't want to hide the fact that the side salad tasted good and a friend's meal was also good. Nevertheless, I can't make a recommendation.

During our holiday we spontaneously ended up at Bitburger Wirtshaus. They have an allergen card. Ultimately opted for the currywurst with fries. Great meal. Had no complaints.

Great Location but terrible food. I never write reviews but am tired of paying for poor service and even worse food. Worst Bratkartoffeln I have eaten in Germany in twenty years; rubbery, definitely not made fresh to order but simply reheated. Schnitzel was just passable...but who serves a chicken schnitzel when you have not ordered chicken!!? Schnitzel should have been pork but as we had already been waiting for an hour, we couldn't be bothered waiting any longer. Hugo - see the photo. Speechless 😶 Much better restaurants that serve great Schnitzel in Trier. Would not go here again.

I would love to give 0 stars, but unfortunately Google won't allow that! Shift manager unfriendly, absolutely no behavior, cheeky at that and completely refraining from the insults! Food is also a 0.0 because every rest stop cooks better!!!

Essen okay. Was negativ auffiel: die Tische im Außenbereich wurden sehr flüchtig abgewischt - unserer klebte ganz fies. Und auch das Henkelgls mit meinem Bier klebte! Wer hier empfindlich ist, geht wahrscheinlich wieder!

Pretty much the very last restaurant there is, waiters who call themselves shift managers don't even belong in the basement! No behavior, discussions with customers and a loud mouth! I would advise against any further visit to avoid eating altogether. Then rather McDonalds!
