Bindaas in München

Worst ever experience in my life!!!!After 10 years in Germany, this is the first time I have ever felt treated badly in a restaurant. Two of us walked in without a reservation and immediately noticed a clear difference in how the staff treated Indian and non-Indian guests. We were not greeted at all, while other customers were welcomed warmly. At first, I tried to ignore it. But when other guests who arrived after us were given seats before us, it became impossible to dismiss. The most disappointing part is that this happened in an Indian restaurant. Seeing fellow Indians treated worse than others is unacceptable. Only after we confronted the staff did they suddenly realize their behavior and offer us a table. By then, the damage was done and we had no interest in staying, so I cannot comment on the food. This is the first restaurant experience in Germany where I genuinely felt disrespected. Everywhere else, people treat you well regardless of where you come from. Never again.

Very nice restaurant to try authentic Indian food right in the city center. I went there on a Monday evening, so the place was not super crowded. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was a great choice. The chicken was tender and the seasoning superb, with a wonderful spicy touch. Additionally, they serve this dish with side potatoes, which were absolutely tasty due to the herbs. The freshly baked garlic Naan bread was very good—I even had to order a second one! The staff was friendly and the food came rather quickly. Prices are what you can generally expect in Munich

Have walked by this place every time I visit Munich… Made a reservation for a Friday evening and was pleasantly surprised. Reading other reviews on here, the restaurant is quite busy so reservations are essential on Friday, Saturday or Sunday evenings. Servers are very friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. I spoke to a friend of mine, whose Indian and he said that it’s authentic. OneNote for non-German speakers, the menu is in German. We had the lamb Tika, the lamb biryani, and the cheese naan. I would definitely return.

They serve delicious Indian food here. The decor is rather simple, but quite pleasant. The mango lassi is highly recommended. It's a good place to go; the prices are typical for Munich and reasonable.

The location of the place is good , but the food is not was i expected, the food was cold and the rice was not good, especially the biryani.

After my second visit, I was unfortunately very disappointed with the food. The vegetable korma tasted and had the consistency of baby food. Zero seasoning, extremely sweet. On my first visit, the chicken tikka masala didn't taste like what I expected. At least the chicken korma had some seasoning, even if the sauce didn't. I was also very surprised that the food arrived so quickly. It felt like cafeteria service. The rice and potatoes were only lukewarm. All the other dishes were good! The naan bread was excellent! The service and atmosphere were great! But ultimately, you go to a restaurant for the good food. We'll be taking a break from there for now!

Really nice food! Definitely recommend. Staff are super nice and welcoming. I was there around noon, and the restaurant had lots of people - which shows how many likes it there.

The food has never disappointed us and is excellent value for money. However, after eating there a few times, we've mostly switched to ordering delivery. The reason: the atmosphere is rather average, the restaurant can get quite loud and crowded, and occasionally they've forgotten naan bread or drinks.

Absolutely fantastic – I pre-ordered food and Bindaas canceled the order ten minutes before pickup. No explanation given, no alternative suggestions, just a simple cancellation. Thanks for that – I've lost my regular customers!

Amazing Indian restaurant! Their dishes are unique, innovative, and delicious. I highly recommend it, especially the butter chicken.

We specifically ordered an appetizer as a "starter," but it arrived mixed in with the main courses. I then asked them to take the main courses back and put them under the salamander grill. One of our three guests canceled at the last minute while we were already there. We were then asked to move to another table, which we refused. The standard 1.5-hour dining slot feels like a "procession." The food was tasty, but the service left much to be desired in terms of attentiveness. The ambiance is like a large, uncomfortable hall and very loud. I wouldn't really recommend it; there are better, nicer, and more attentive Indian restaurants in Munich.

What a fantastic Indian restaurant! The food was delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented. The service staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere at Bindaas is truly unique – the decor is a real eye-catcher. The prices are absolutely reasonable. I'd gladly return.

Unfortunately, I have to say that I was quite disappointed by the food at Bindaas. I had heard many good things about this place and was really excited to try it, since I enjoy Indian food and had received multiple recommendations. Many items on the menu sounded great, but I decided to play it safe and went for the Chicken Tikka Masala, usually my favorite dish and one that was being promoted as their specialty. To my surprise, the sauce tasted quite different from what I’m used to, rather one-dimensional, overly spiced, or as if it had too much salt, and noticeably hotter than usual. I wondered whether something had gone wrong in the kitchen or if this was how a more authentic Masala sauce is meant to taste, which is why I didn’t ask or complain (maybe I should have). Perhaps other places adapt their dishes to European tastes, but I have to say that I didn’t enjoy it. A colleague of mine ordered the same dish and didn't enjoy it either. The other dishes seemed tasty, as the rest of my group didn’t have any complaints, but my personal experience was, unfortunately, not positive. No complaints about the rest, though, the service and atmosphere were great, and we otherwise had a very good time.

The best Indian restaurant in Europe! Exceptional hospitality and truly authentic Indian food. We went here for both lunch and dinner and were amazed by the warm service and incredible flavours. Every single dish we ordered was a perfect 5/5, absolutely worth the price. We’ll definitely come back whenever we’re in Munich!

The food is solid. My colleague's lamb was overcooked. We waited forever for our order. They asked us 20 times if we knew what we wanted. It was very annoying. Some tables are only available for an hour, but they at least made us sit there for an hour and a half. Wouldn't go back.

Wow 🤩 the vegetarian thali was superb - the gravy was delicious in all the dishes and rice was top notch! Even the garlic naans were amazing! The service by Manpreet and team is friendly and interiors are plush - can highly recommend this place! Great vibe!

Despite the late hour, we received a very friendly welcome, and after a short wait, we were seated. The menu offered a good selection, and everything we tried was delicious. The friendly and attentive service was striking despite the stress – a relaxing evening.

I ate Butter Chicken a couple of days ago. I got food poisoning afterwards and still have severe stomach pain, bloating and mild fever. Definitely don’t recommend it !!!!!!

Excellent restaurant! Everything was perfect. I came alone and loved it. The Tandoori was super tender, the Garlic Naan delicious, and the Gulab Jamun was the perfect finishing touch. The Chai was also very good. The quality and taste are top-notch. The service was fast and very friendly. I highly recommend Bindaas!

One of the best Indian restaurants I have tried, even compared to restaurants in Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

I specifically ordered naan without cilantro, which was promised, but the naan I received had cilantro sprinkled on top and incorporated into it. The server was otherwise pleasant, the dish was good, and the restaurant decor was nice. When paying, I pointed out that the naan had been served incorrectly, but I was still charged the full amount.

A lovely, stylish Indian restaurant in the Gärtnerplatz district. The ambiance is great, and the food is good and tasty. It must be new, because the staff still sometimes rush around a bit aimlessly. But they make up for it with their speed and friendliness! We'll be back!

Absolute banger of a restaurant in munich at a great location! Our servers were very warm and kind, and the food was absolutely delicious. We tried the murgh tikka, vegetarian biryani, palak paneer and mango lassi. I couldn't pick out a single bad thing to say. Portions were very generous too. If you're craving real indian food and hospitality, this is the place to visit in munich.

Mid afternoon meal, great spot after lots of walking and sightseeing. Attentive waiters and patient with an only English speaking customer. Food was incredible!

The manager, Shukhwinder, was amazing as well everyone there...Food was great as well..we only had a couple of appetizers but will be going back as Shukwimder requested to come back for his bhaigan bharta. Can't wait to try it....5 stars !!!!!

Went for Indian food tonight and it was absolutely amazing. The Manchurian Ghobi was really well made. The butter chicken and chenna masala were very tasteful. The portions were big and well presented. All in all I can only recommend it.

We're not from Munich, but Bindaas is a must-visit for us every time we visit. 🍴 The food is excellent, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff is super friendly, attentive, and very child-friendly—simply the perfect place to feel completely at home. I've been there three times now, each time with different people, and everyone was so impressed that we went back the following days. Best Indian restaurant in Munich- loved the variety of street food (starters), loved the ambience and music (dance/party songs), loved the location and setting- it's better to call and reserve a table during busy hours. The highlight for me was the starter menu because it's not something I've seen in other restaurants. The gobi manchurian was super crispy and so close to the ones we get in India. The setting inside is also very nice- the bright and colorful rickshaw and God of Cricket wall. We packed home some dinner- tikka taka tak and shahi chicken korma were super delicious. Hands down, this is my new favourite restaurant in Munich and hopes it stays that way.

Delicious but a little expensive.

Loved the place. Though not many options on the menu for vegetarian main course, but we had Palak Paneer, Samosa Chat, Veg Biryani and Manchurian. I didn't Veg Biryani that much but Palak Paneer was very delicious. The quantity is also good and the vibe is top notch. I was quite fascinated to see a lot of other people instead of Indians in the restaurant. A must visit for an Indian meal and would recommend booking in advance since the place might get crowded on weekends.

A classic Indian lunch spot with unbeatable value. The outdoor seating is also very pleasant, especially in the summer. Thanks to the changing lunch menus, you can go there several times a week.

Very good Indian food. I had the Chana Masala and it was perfectly spirced. I will realy recomend Bindaas if you need a break from the clasic Bavarian kitchen :-)

Very tasty food, modern ambience

The food tastes great here! They can also make vegan versions of some vegetarian food (like Bharta) and it is great. I would not recommend this place for a date or if you want to talk to someone in peace over dinner though because it is extremely loud inside as it gets very crowded. Because of the crowd the service is also quite slow. It can be that you enter the place and they take 5-10 mins to ask you about your reservation.

We came almost at closing time. But the staff were friendly and didnt rush us. The food was really yummy and good. The mango lassi was definetly rich and different from other restaurants.

It was a nice meal we had here. Food was good and drinks were delicious. Service is okay we were waiting quite a bit for server to bring our bill. It was little too loud as for me. Overall nice place.

Ate here yesterday: simply outstanding! The chicken tikka is highly recommended, and my little sister loved the red sauce that goes with it. I also noticed how incredibly hard-working the staff is; truly impressive. And they remain friendly throughout. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, something new for an Indian restaurant. My only tip: turn the music down a bit so you can have a better conversation. We're happy!!!

Their food is delicious, especially the shrimp biryani. The chicken butter and chicken masala may have a different taste than usual, but they are still delicious and filling. The portion is good, and the service is good. I recommend it.

The food was great. I usually pay by card, but this time the cashier said I couldn't pay by card, and the price was over €100, and I didn't have enough cash. In the end, we paid in cash and asked for the bill, but unfortunately, we didn't get it.

It was a rainy day, and we showed up without a reservation. Thankfully, the waiter was kind enough to offer us a table that was reserved, letting us stay for 45 minutes. We appreciated the gesture and decided to order takeaway instead. Everything was great - the food was absolutely fantastic. The only downside came at the end, when I chose to pay by card. Although the bill was over 50 euros, I sensed the waiter wasn’t too happy about it. After such a warm welcome, the farewell felt a bit cold - polite, but with a frown. Still, the food truly made up for it.

Hands down the best Indian food I’ve ever had — and that’s saying a lot coming from someone who’s eaten at some of the top spots in Toronto. Everything from the service to the flavors was exceptional. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the food came out quickly without feeling rushed. We ordered the Chicken Tikka and Chicken Masala — both were absolutely fantastic. The Chicken Tikka had a sweet, rich flavor that really stood out, while the Masala was creamy, bold, and perfectly spiced. I’d highly recommend ordering one of each and sharing — you get the best of both worlds. If you’re anywhere near Munich, this spot is a must-visit. Incredible food, amazing service, and a cozy atmosphere. Can’t recommend it enough!
