Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Hochzeitsfeier im Romantik Hotel Gravenberg. Eine wirklich besonders schöne Location! Service und Küche waren wirklich toll! Wir hatten uns ein komplett veganes Menü gewünscht und die Umsetzung war klasse! Glutenunverträglichkeiten wurden auch berücksichtigt. Wir können das Romantik Hotel Gravenberg uneingeschränkt empfehlen!

An das Thema vomRomantik Hotel Lehmann Meine Freundin und ich waren an diesem Wochenende bei Ihnen im Hotel zu Gast , wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und es sind keine Wünsche offen geblieben. Unser Zimmer war mit sehr viel Liebe hergerichtet…. und mein Wunsch mit den roten Rosen für meine Freundin wurde erfüllt. Man ist im Lohmanns Romantik Hotel um seine Gäste sehr bemüht und alles war super . Lieben Dank von meiner Freundin und mir. Beste Grüße Andre Veutgen 🙋‍♂️🤩👍

Ich komme schon seit mehr als 10 Jahren immer wieder geschäftlich in dieses Haus. Die Zimmer sind alle Top renoviert, teils riesig groß und mit eigener Sauna. Das Essen sucht in der Region seinesgleichen. Herr Lohmann ist ein Fleischspezialist erster Güte und das merkt man auch. Alle Speisen, ob Vorspeise, Hauptgang oder Dessert sind hervorragend in Qualität und Geschmack. Der Service wird von langjährigen, erfahrenen Kellnern ausgeführt, wie man Sie nur noch selten in der Gastronomie findet. In diesem Haus stimmt einfach alles, eine Perle in der Region und darüberhinaus. Die Preise sind der Qualität angemessen, zudem man bei den Portionen immer satt wird. Ich kann manche Bewertungen, die ich hier lese, in keiner Weise nachvollziehen. Ich vermute, dass manche Menschen einfach boshaft und neidisch sind, anders kann man sich das nicht erklären. Ich freue mich schon auf den nächsten Aufenthalt

Wir waren am Sonntag im Romantik Hotel essen. In der Vergangenheit vor zwei bzw. drei Jahren waren wir bereits mehrfach dort und immer sehr zufrieden sowohl mit dem Essen als auch mit dem Service. Umso enttäuschender war unser letzter Besuch. Zu Beginn wurden wir von einem freundlichen Kellner bedient anschließend jedoch von einer Kellnerin deren Auftreten weder besonders freundlich noch zugewandt war. Das fiel uns zwar auf stand für uns aber zunächst nicht im Vordergrund wir kamen in erster Linie wegen des Essens. Die Preise haben im Vergleich zu früher deutlich angezogen. Mein Mann und ich bestellten beide ein Steak welches qualitativ sehr gut war und perfekt auf den Punkt gegart wurde. Leider waren die Bratkartoffeln meines Mannes nur lauwarm und geschmacklich nicht überzeugend. Als Dessert entschieden wir uns im Rahmen der österreichischen Woche für Kaiserschmarrn der am Tisch zubereitet wurde. Auf Nachfrage ob dieser ohne Rosinen möglich sei wurde uns erklärt dass er bereits vorgebraten sei. Tatsächlich wurde er lediglich in der Pfanne mit Zucker karamellisiert und mit Alkohol flambiert. Hier hätten wir uns einen Hinweis gewünscht da Alkohol nicht vollständig verdampft und dies für manche Gäste aus gesundheitlichen Gründen relevant sein kann. Der Kaiserschmarrn war weder frisch noch knusprig sondern eher weich und geschmacklich enttäuschend insbesondere für einen Preis von 12 €. Auf Nachfrage der Kellnerin äußerte ich freundlich und konstruktiv dass uns alles soweit gefallen habe mit Ausnahme des Desserts. Die Reaktion darauf war jedoch völlig unangemessen. In einem schnippischen Ton wurde mir entgegnet dass jemand der den Teller leer isst nicht behaupten könne dass es nicht geschmeckt habe. Zudem wurde betont man hätte nur etwas unternehmen können wenn ich es vorher gesagt hätte. Besonders unprofessionell war dass die Kellnerin anschließend lautstark in der Küche über uns sprach und das Gespräch mit uns für alle hörbar nacherzählte auch aus der Küche kamen entsprechende Kommentare die wir als Gäste deutlich mitbekommen haben ein solches Verhalten ist absolut unangebracht. Es wurde weder versucht die Situation zu klären noch wurde uns in irgendeiner Form entgegengekommen zum Beispiel durch ein alternatives Dessert oder einen Kaffee. Insgesamt ein sehr enttäuschender Besuch vor allem aufgrund des Umgangs mit berechtigter sachlich vorgetragener Kritik wir werden nicht wiederkommen.

Sehr schönes Ambiente! Das Servicepersonal ist freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Das Essen ist sehr schmackhaft. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut.

Ich war hier nur beruflich für eine Übernachtung inkl. Restaurant besuch. Der Service sowohl im Hotel, im Restaurant, und beim Frühstück war sehr angenehm, freundlich und aufmerksam. Ich konnte im Restaurant zu Abendessen und war sowohl mit der Qualität als auch dem Geschmack und der Präsentation des Chateau Briand sehr zufrieden und würde sofort wiederkommen. Auch das Landbier lässt sich gut trinken :) Das Hotel an sich wirkt etwas altbacken/uhrig auch wenn es teilweise moderne Einflüsse insbesondere im Restaurant Bereich gibt. Leider hatte ich ein Zimmer zur Straße hin. Auch Nachts ist hier recht viel Verkehr. Mit geschlossenem Fenster und Vorhang war es ok, aber über das Badezimmerfenster war der Straßenverkehr noch zu hören. Das Zimmer an sich hatte eine angenehme Größe, war gut eingerichtet und sauber. Aber auch hier wirkt es etwas "altmodisch" vermutlich auch wegen dem Teppichboden. Anschließend noch zum Frühstück. Es war eine tolle Auswahl an Brot, Aufschnitt, Obst und Gemüse, frisch zubereiteten Eierspeisen sowie eine Auswahl an Quark, Joghurt, Müsli Variation vorhanden. Hier sollte jeder etwas finden. Alles in allem würde ich wiederkommen, vielleicht mit 1-2 Tagen mehr Zeit um auch die Umgebung und die weiteren Angebote des Hotels erkunden zu können. Preis-Leistung ist ok.

Alteingesessenes Hotel und Restaurant mit sehr schönen, weitläufigen Räumlichkeiten. Wir waren mit ca. 30 Personen zum Essen da. Reichlich Personal kümmerte sich um unsere Wünsche. Perfektes Timing beim Essen trotz einiger anderer grösseren Gesellschaften. Das Essen hält was der gute Ruf verspricht. Vielleicht eine etwas zu kleine Auswahl bei der Speisekarte und etwas oberflächliche Empfehlung für die richtige Weinauswahl. Alles in allem. Sehr gutes und schönes Restaurant mit kleinen Abstrichen, aber sehr zu empfehlen.

This is my third time staying at this hotel for the Düsseldorf trade fair. It's about a 40-minute drive from the fair, parking is included, the property is well-maintained and clean, the staff is very friendly, and both the on-site restaurant and breakfast are excellent, with affordable prices. Dinner for two, for example, costs around €80 and includes an appetizer, main course, and drinks. I highly recommend it!

The buildings and decor are quite dated, but everything else is excellent! The food is excellent, not typical "gutburgerliche Küche" (homemade cuisine), but refined and in reasonable portions, not overflowing. The service is very prompt, friendly, and helpful. The restrooms are spotlessly clean.

We spent two wonderful days at the Romantik Hotel. We had the spa area to ourselves, probably because it was midweek, and we really enjoyed it. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, and the service was attentive. Dinner in the modern restaurant was served by a friendly, witty waiter who has been working there for almost 20 years and clearly enjoys his job. Room 102 was a dream. You really can't hear a thing from the main road inside. Thank you to all the hardworking and motivated staff.

We had a wonderful weekend at this hotel! The decor is magnificent; antique and typically German. The wellness area, including the pool, sauna, and spa, is incredible, with large bay windows overlooking the forest! The rooms are tastefully furnished and very comfortable. The restaurant offers excellent dishes. Breakfast has a very varied menu! The common areas and rooms are very clean and well laid out.

This review refers only to the restaurant: I was there on November 5th for an event. The food was okay: Wiener Schnitzel with fries and cranberries. The schnitzel was about the size of a large hand, which I found too small for €31. It was also rather tough. Ketchup AND mayonnaise (for the fries) were only available at an extra charge (and not separately). However, the waiter was disappointing; his passive-aggressive manner was unfortunately quite unpleasant.

The room was fine, the headboard of the bed is due for replacement, the wedding party can see you while bathing (curtains would be a solution), breakfast was very well presented and plentiful.

We stayed one night and were very satisfied. The hotel has a great location. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The room was huge, beautifully decorated in a country-style with attention to detail, a great sauna right in the bathroom, and a balcony with a truly fantastic view. Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of traffic on the nearby street quite late into the day. But when everything was closed, you couldn't really notice it. I personally think it's a shame that the pool costs extra, because it's there whether people are lying there or not. Otherwise, the breakfast was excellent; the scrambled eggs were (in my opinion) really great! For the first time, I didn't have to add any seasoning to my egg. 👌🏼 We had a lovely time and would love to come back. 🤩

Very warm place, very pleasant team, top-notch spa area, very spacious and comfortable room, delicious breakfast with lots of choice. To do without hesitation!

Luxurious, we really enjoyed it, but there were two major drawbacks: 1. Using the pool costs an extra €7.00 per person!!! 2. The waiter thinks it's funny and gives back €20.00 too little change. Haha. Very funny! Maybe some people don't notice...as a trained hotel manager, I unfortunately know all the tricks...that was a bad turn. Sure, you can always make a joke out of it! But I still gave a decent tip!!! Tip: You just have to pick the wrong guy, a tall, blond man...

The burger was very good, and the zucchini schnitzel was also very good. The service was very friendly, and the outdoor seating area is perfect. We'd be happy to go back.

We stayed there for a weekend. We really liked the hotel. The staff were very dedicated and friendly, and the room was immaculately cleaned. We had no complaints and would happily return.

We went there for a barbecue on Friday; there was a very nice selection of starters and salads, and the service was good.

We stayed overnight from Sunday to Monday in July and unfortunately missed out on a key aspect of the romantic experience, as the restaurant is closed on Saturdays. However, we were still able to enjoy the wonderful spa area on Sunday afternoon, even though it's normally closed at that time (a fair surcharge of €7 per person per day). Thank you very much for that. The breakfast buffet is very varied, delicious, and lovingly presented.

Only the restaurant's price-performance ratio could be improved...everything else, especially the gorgeous room 101, the pool and relaxation area, the quaint British-style bar, and the incredibly friendly lady at breakfast in the Bergisch (NOT Bavarian ;-)) traditional costume, created such an unbeatable feeling of well-being that anything less than 5 out of 5 would simply be wrong. We'd love to come back soon!

I was extremely disappointed during and after my stay. I can't recommend this hotel under any circumstances and must warn against staying there. The staff is superficial, the rooms are dated 1980s, and all of this is incredibly expensive. I had no choice, as I had to stay there with a large group. Never again!!! Please don't go to this dump. Romantic hotel, I can only laugh, actually, it's enough to make you cry.

Delicious food, attentive service, and an extremely well-maintained facility. It wasn't exactly cheap, but it was a wonderful wedding day. Thank you so much.

Not recommended for wheelchair users: The annex, which houses the "wheelchair-accessible" room, is accessible from the main building via a pedestrian tunnel under the adjacent street. A very steep, paved ramp leads to the tunnel—unsuitable for most wheelchair users! You can, of course, drive the approximately 150 meters from the main building to the annex (even then, there's still a short, steep incline to negotiate—I just about managed it on my own).

A fantastic hotel with a restaurant and spa. The rooms are incredibly beautiful. The food is excellent.

As a guest at a wedding, I can say that the service was very attentive. A little inattentive at times, but 90% of the time genuinely attentive. They refilled their glass automatically, and asked regularly if everything was okay. The asparagus and the side dishes were very tasty, but the hollandaise sauce was very heavy on balsamic vinegar, making it difficult to eat. But that's a matter of taste, so I can still say with a clear conscience that the food was very good. The other guests were also thrilled! The only thing missing was the "gentle background music" discussed with the couple, which made the already small celebration a bit quiet (as the groom put it: "Like a funeral"). A shame, but bearable.

The food in the restaurant and the service are always first class. The staff is always friendly and committed to making your stay as perfect as possible.

2 days of conference in the romantic hotel, a complete success. The employees were enthusiastic about the ambience, the great rooms, the service and the great food. Restaurant review: Price and performance/service don't match at all. Criticism from the waiter when ordering the drinks and the request for another side dish with the meal?? Sorry, but when it comes to prices I expect advice if necessary, not an evaluation of my order. The dishes were partly cold and of average quality and creativity. Two years ago we ate much better and cheaper there. We won't be coming back.

I had the pleasure of spending a few days at this wonderful hotel and I highly recommend it! The beautiful spa area was particularly impressive – a real oasis of well-being! The entire staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome from the start. Both the breakfast and the restaurant deserve high praise. Another plus point was the modern room. Overall, a fantastic stay – I’ll definitely be back!

It's like being on vacation every time! I would like to give 10 stars. The room and bathroom are better than in a 5 star hotel. A fantastic spa area and a rich breakfast – if I'm in the area for work, no other hotel would be an option for me!

The hotel is large, rustic and outdated. The rooms are clean but remain in the 80s. Would be a good film backdrop. Staff in the breakfast room and at reception very helpful and customer-oriented.

Last Friday we had our practice Christmas party there with 18 people. The service was decent, but the food was a complete disaster for outrageous prices. At best, large canteen level. Nobody needs something like that. The toilet area is also at least 40 years old, has not been renovated and has been converted into a men's area .

I couldn't find a review option just for the restaurant, so I'm writing this review on the "hotel page" of the Lohmanns Romantik Hotel. Last Tuesday (11/12/24) I was a guest at Lohmanns Restaurant for lunch with my wife and one of our dogs. When I made my lunch reservation over the phone, I was greeted in a very friendly and competent manner. At the end of the conversation, the restaurant employee made the telephone reservation: See you later, the Schneider family with their dog, I have reserved a nice table for you. We look forward to having you as our guests later. This feeling was more than confirmed when we got there. The waiter had prepared a nice table for my wife and our large dog, which unfortunately has not been handled so positively in recent years in Germany. Since November is goose season, after an excellent starter (beef carpaccio and cream of goose soup) we ordered a leg of goose for my wife and goose breast for me, which was absolutely great. The attentive service added to the good food. After a Crepe Suzette and 2 capuccinos, we were completely satisfied with our choice of this location and will definitely come back! Anyone who loves sophisticated hospitality with appropriate service quality and excellent cuisine has come to the right place. It couldn't be better!

We went here for dinner and it was fantastic. Very nice service and great food.

Super nice hotel. Our room was really quaint and therefore really special. The spa area was also really great. Nature is ideal for a walk. The staff throughout the hotel were really friendly. The hotel itself is located directly on a highway, which isn't that nice and the spa is mostly closed on Sundays - but those are our only criticisms. We still want to come back!

In my opinion, the name “Romantik Hotel” is a bit misleading: the staff are very friendly and hard-working, and the very confusing house itself has certainly seen better times. The classic “single room in the style of the 80s” is still offered here. Breakfast and the associated rooms, like the hotel room, are far removed from my perception of “romance”.

We booked ourselves into this hotel for a weekend and celebrated a wedding with friends. It is right on a main road. Depending on the orientation of the room, the traffic at rush hour may seem a little uncomfortable. But it wasn't a problem for us since we were out and about during the day anyway and the traffic died down in the evenings. Otherwise our room was very tidy and well maintained, we didn't lack anything. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food in the hotel restaurant was very tasty. We felt very comfortable.

Delicious coffee with a small chokoschaum cone as a bonus while the EV is charging at the supercharger (4 min. walk). Beautiful terrace, friendly service, ladies in dirndls (4 stars). The hotel itself is located along a fairly busy main road, but the terrace is behind the hotel; you don't notice the road there.

Great event location with all the trimmings. The food and service leaves nothing to be desired.

What can I say, what a lovely little gem in the countryside just outside of Solingen. Very neat and clean, the building is very well maintained and the rooms are modern, clean and very comfortable. It has a decent air conditioning unit in the room and whilst I was only able to stay for breakfast on the day, the food was superb. If your looking for a "Romantic" getaway, look no further. Highly recommended.

Staff very friendly and helpful! Unfortunately, the hotel does not have an elevator and is therefore not recommended for people with limited mobility. It is not possible to use the Internet in the entire hotel because there is simply no network (no signal). Answer, I can't do anything about that either, or we'll have to take a look tomorrow? Parking is apparently free, but the paying hotel guest has to pay for the use of the swimming pool. Bed, room and bathroom, everything was very clean and tidy, but unfortunately the room smelled a bit musty, as old walls sometimes do. Price-performance ratio in the restaurant, there is still room for improvement, now I understand why my Solingen friends say that they usually go to Düsseldorf to eat. Breakfast restaurant, very friendly, attentive staff, decent selection, but unfortunately no internet connection! But there's nothing better in the surrounding area?

Today I was at the Gravenberg Hotel just to eat. In summary - it was fabulous. The location is great, so you can sit comfortably in the garden. This is beautifully designed and has the optimal ratio of sun and shade. Furthermore, the food is simply perfect. From the starter to the dessert - it was excellent. Lastly I would like to mention the service staff. It's been a long time since I experienced such friendly and courteous service without being intrusive. Great praise overall, but especially to the service staff!

A very nice romantic hotel, the rooms are very well maintained, clean and well furnished. The food is highly recommended... super delicious, simply great cuisine, the service is very friendly and always tries hard. The wellness and spa area is simply great, simply a hotel to feel good about. It was a pleasure.

We celebrated an 80th birthday on June 2nd at the Restaurant Hotel Gravenberg. The food and service were excellent. Attractive floral and table decorations and an elegant/cozy atmosphere. Also great and very uncomplicated planning with the entire team. An all-round successful celebration! Many thanks to the whole team

Went here for dinner on May 9, 2024. The menu was delicious, but everyone else was also very satisfied. The service, as always, was friendly and accommodating. We remain very satisfied regular guests Went here with friends today on Easter Sunday 2023 and, as always, no regrets. We had wild garlic cream soup, smoked trout fillet and beef tartare as starters. Wiener Schnitzel in the main course and brittle cup, strawberry cake with vanilla ice cream, three types of lemon tart, sorbet and macarons, as well as crème brulee made from tonka beans to finish. A great meal and a lovely afternoon with friends. Everything was beautifully prepared and very tasty. And once again we were welcomed to the very tasty menu. There was a greeting from the kitchen, beef fillet carpaccio, yogurt sorbet, saddle of venison with savoy cabbage, napkin dumplings, cranberries and red wine pears. For dessert there was plum ice cream, with plum compote and slivovitz flambéed at the table. Everything was very tasty and friendly and competent service. So everything as always, we'll be happy to come back. [July 20, 2022] was here for a very, very tasty menu. There was a greeting from the kitchen, Vitello Tonato, raspberry sorbet with tonic, bread dumplings with butter; Chanterelles with bacon and onions and saddle of veal. For dessert, berries with zabaglione. Simply delicious. On November 13th Went here for the goose menu with 4 people. Service super friendly and competent. Everyone was very happy because you feel welcome here. Even though it was pretty much fully booked, we didn't sit close to each other and everything worked well, and the special requests that were made were promptly fulfilled. Thank you very much and gladly again. Today on September 8th been here for a delicious meal. Food, service, as always, very friendly and very good. We really enjoy coming back here. On July 20th Been here again, as always friendly service and delicious food in a nice atmosphere. Went here for a barbecue with friends on June 26th. The offering was varied and the food was very tasty. The price is more than reasonable. The service is pleasant and quick. The hygiene measures are exemplary. We felt very safe and comfortable and would love to come back. We were guests again on June 2nd. Very tasty 3-course welcome back menu with smoked salmon as a starter, filet mignon with Bernaise sauce, summer vegetables and risole potatoes as a main course and Bavarian vanilla cream with strawberries. The hygiene standards are very high and are consistently implemented. We felt comfortable and very safe. Thank you. Very tasty food (mustard roast with fried potatoes and salad), friendly, competent service and great dessert (dessert variation and crème brulee made from tonka beans). Great hotel and restaurant great event rooms. The restaurant serves delicious food in a quiet atmosphere with professional service that is always friendly and competent. The prices are appropriate for the great quality. Lovely again. This time we stayed here overnight. The waffle with cherries, cream and ice cream was really tasty. In the evening there was a great four course menu with great service. The breakfast buffet in the new pavilion was also very good. The pavilion itself is bright and friendly with a cozy atmosphere. The room was recently renovated and modern but comfortably furnished and designed with attention to detail. The reception was very friendly and competent. We will definitely and happily come back

Our family reunion with an overnight stay was very nice despite the bad weather! Everyone enjoyed the cozy rooms, the well-kept wellness area, the attentive, friendly service and, last but not least, the excellent dinner at the round table. Thank you!

We had lunch here as part of a larger family celebration. There was a manageable selection of local, regional and well-selected dishes. 🍄🥩🥕 Every dish was freshly prepared, some right at the table, and tasted DELICIOUS. The service and kitchen staff were also extremely professional and were always available to give you good advice. For full-time vegetarians 🥦🥦🥦 the choice is rather limited, but a traditional country inn is not the first address for them. Nevertheless, individual requests for vegetarian/vegan dishes are happy to be accommodated. All in all, a very good, higher-priced restaurant that definitely deserves high praise for its high-quality cuisine. Gladly again for festive occasions!!! 🌞👍

My husband booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary and my birthday as a surprise. It was anything but beautiful. You have to walk through a long tunnel to get to the hotel if you want to use the wellness. Very remote and nothing to do. If you have too much money and want to get rid of it, use this hotel. Breakfast is the simplest thing you eat at home, I couldn't get it down my throat. There were mainly elderly people, probably in retirement or rehabilitation??

Rooms and service were first class. Everything was very clean, even Swiss people would feel at home there... Absolutely recommended for a stay in the area. I don't rate the location - for anyone making a stopover, it's ideally located on the BAB. Not suitable for those who like to have a bit of "life" around their hotel as it is located on the main road. The breakfast buffet is also ok to good, but - complaining at a high level - there is no salmon or it has been overlooked. We would be happy to spend the night and have breakfast there again.

We just had breakfast. That's why we can't say anything about the rooms. The breakfast is great, the staff very friendly and attentive. The house is great and exudes a very great hospitality. We can recommend the house without reservation - it's nice that something like this still exists.
