Unser Kellner Waleri war unglaublich nett und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns unterhalten, während unsere Bestellung zum Mitnehmen zubereitet wurde, und es war sehr schön. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, wenn wir mal wieder in Heidelberg sind! Alles Gute! Luc & Chloé

Wir waren dort vorhin mit unserer 4 Jahre alten Tochter und hatten das riesige Glück, von Sibel bedient zu werden, die Gastro in die Wiege gelegt bekam. Einen so aufmerksamen, freundlichen und zielgruppenorientierten Kundenservice habe ich selten erlebt!! Das Essen war üppig, schnell und lecker. Alles in allem ein rundum gelungener Stopp.

Das Essen war leider garnicht gut. Die Portionen waren teilweise klein und der PizzaOfen war defekt. Der Service hat ständig Bestellungen vergessen und wir haben lange auf Essen und Getränke gewartet. Alles in allem nicht empfehlenswert!

Die Toiletten waren extrem gruselig. Wenn ich nicht vorher schon gegessen hätte dann hätte ich es lieber gelassen. Geschmeckt hat es allerdings und das Personal war einfach eine Augenweide 😍

Ich war schon zweimal dort. Das Personal ist immer unglaublich aufmerksam und freundlich! Sie bieten traditionelle deutsche Küche mit authentischem Geschmack an. Wir hatten Spätzle und Schnitzel, beides war köstlich. Die Lage ist außerdem sehr schön und praktisch (besonders für einen Ausflug zum Heidelberger Schloss).

Personal super zuvorkommend, freundlich und flexibel. Essen ist super lecker und die Portionen perfekt. Es ist ein Besuch wert.

Super Service und sehr leckeres Essen!

Wir suchten nach einer Alternative zu Würstchen und traditionellen deutschen Mittagsgerichten, und dieses Lokal bot genau das. Die Pizza war hervorragend und eine willkommene Abwechslung. Das Bier war schön kalt. Die Pizza war perfekt, und das Restaurant war gemütlich und freundlich. Wenn Sie in Heidelberg nach einem Lokal mit gutem Bier und Pizza suchen, können wir es wärmstens empfehlen.

Das ist doch mal ein cooler Laden. Das Essen ist klasse und der Service ist super nett und schnell. Die Location ist interessant. Steinmauern und altes Holzmobiliar erinnert ans Mittelalter. Allerdings läuft kein Minnegesang sondern coole Latinomusik. Liegt nahe...würde man die Deko tauschen gegen mexikanische Accessoires, dann würde es auch passen. 😉 Allerdings hab ich kein mexikanisches Essen gefunden. Aber wie gesagt, schmeckt lecker und Preise ok. Von mir 👍

Leckerer Salat, Backkartoffel und Welde Bier… alles prima, auch der Service sehr schnell und freundlich

Für ein “schnelles” Mittagessen als Familie mit drei Jugendlichen über zwei Stunden hier verbracht. Zwei von fünf Essen wurden “vergessen”, ist jedoch erst aufgefallen als die anderen drei mit dem Essen fertig waren. Zum Schluss mussten wir nach der Rechnung drei Mal nachfragen und es hat weitere 15 Minuten gedauert! Die zwei Sterne sind wegen den großen Portionen, wobei hier gilt eher Quantität vor Qualität.

Wir haben hervorragend gegessen, die Portionen waren großzügig und das Essen hat noch besser geschmeckt, dazu war es auch noch preiswert. Ein paar Tage später waren wir wieder dort und es hat sich absolut gelohnt. Wir wurden am ersten Tag von einer netten und am zweiten Tag von einer anderen Bedienung bedient; beide waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Furchtbar. Wir wurden geschubst, schlecht behandelt und angeschrien. Ich kann es absolut nicht empfehlen. Die Kellnerin war unglaublich unfreundlich, und Touristen werden dort schlecht behandelt. GEHT DA NICHT HIN!

Leider war unser Besuch in diesem Restaurant eine große Enttäuschung. Das Essen war sehr schlecht. Mein Putensteak war extrem hart und viel zu durchgebraten – kaum genießbar. Die Pommes waren labbrig und überhaupt nicht knusprig. Die Kräuterbutter war steinhart, innen sogar noch gefroren – ganz klar eine billige Fertigbutter. Besonders ärgerlich war dann noch die Rechnung: Sie wurde falsch erstellt. Mir wurden Speisen berechnet, die ich überhaupt nicht bestellt oder bekommen habe, sodass ich am Ende zu viel bezahlt habe. Insgesamt leider absolut nicht empfehlenswert.

Bei Nachfragen war das Personal etwas "unschlüssig". Beste Käsespätzle in HD

Wir haben am Sonntagabend hier gegessen und es war wunderbar. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an authentischen Gerichten und Biersorten. Melika, die uns bedient hat, war sehr nett. Das Essen wurde schnell serviert und hat uns allen sehr gut geschmeckt.

Waren an Silvester mit Freunden dort etwas trinken. Wir mussten 30 min auf unsere Getränke warten, da es nur eine Kellnerin gab und diese mit Bestellungen aufnehmen und servieren gar nicht hinterher kam. Beim Bezahlen ist uns dann aufgefallen, dass auf jedes Getränk 2€ mehr berechnet wurde. "Das sei der Silvester-Aufschlag", war die Antwort auf unsere Nachfrage. Nur wurde das weder vorab kommuniziert noch war es irgendwo ausgeschrieben (Karte,Schild). Die Kellnerin hat sich mehrfach entschuldigt, sie hat bis eben auch nichts davon gewusst und wir haben das zu viel gezahlte Geld zurückbekommen. Der Chef, der auch anwesend war, hat es nicht mal für nötig gehalten es uns zu erklären. Uns tun die Gäste leid, die an diesem Abend unwissend mehr gezahlt haben. Zudem war es sehr zugig und kalt im Innenbereich. Wir kommen nicht mehr!

Ganz nett. Bierbrezel schmeckt tatsächlich . Allerdings war der Glühwein furchtbar…. Das hat nach allem geschmeckt ( vor allem Nelken ) aber nicht nach dem was es soll. Bierauswahl ist gut. Bedienung war leider nicht in der Lage was adäquates anzubieten.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Eine absolute Empfehlung! Ich war im Bierbrezel und hatte einen wirklich tollen Besuch. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und einladend, das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen war sehr lecker, frisch zubereitet und kam schnell an den Tisch. Besonders gut gefallen hat mir das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis – wirklich top! Insgesamt ein Ort, an dem man sich sofort wohlfühlt und gerne wiederkommt. Klare Empfehlung!

Geht bloß nicht durch diese Tür! Wir haben die Kellnerin gerufen, nachdem wir eine Stunde auf zwei winzige Flammkuchen gewartet hatten! Sie meinte, der Koch sei Käse holen gegangen und in zehn Minuten zurück… Keine Entschuldigung, keine Entschädigung! Sowas lasse ich mir nicht noch mal gefallen!

Jetzt wo wir andere Brauhäuser gesehen und ausprobiert haben, wird mehr und mehr klar wie schlecht das Bier Brezel war.. Kalbsgeschnetzeltes war wohl ein kleines Kalbsschnitzel in Streifen geschnitten und mit pappiger Soße und klebrigen Spätzle, ungenießbar. Hat nach einigen Stunden auch Magen-Darm Probleme gegeben.. Rinderpfanne auf einem Weizentortilla in eine Metallpfanne gelegt, hat auch nichts mit dem Namen zu tun. Es war noch genießbar, aber trocken und kein angepriesenes „Pfännchengericht“. Nebenbei sind die Preise draußen auf der Karte auch nicht aktuell, in der Karte drinnen gibts dann auf einmal Unterschiede von bis zu 7€!! Also genau aufpassen!! Fazit: Es gibt viele andere gute Lokale, dieses hier gehört nicht dazu. Ein Blick in die Seitengassen lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, wenn man mal zu Besuch in Heidelberg ist.

We were initially greeted warmly and offered a table – until they noticed we had a small dog with us. Then, suddenly, they said there were no more tables available. It's a shame, because our dog is quiet, small, and behaves better than many people. A small spot in the corner wouldn't have bothered anyone. Very disappointing how guests are treated here. Deserves less than one star.

The Hungarian goulash was EXCELLENT.

The food was delicious, the place is decorated like it was in the Middle Ages, very beautiful. Clean restrooms too.

The waitress asked me if I wanted ketchup or mayonnaise with my tarte flambée, which I was very surprised about. But when the dry and sparsely topped meal was placed in front of me, a few things became clear to me. The currywurst was already sliced ​​and tasted like microwaved currywurst; there wasn't even any curry powder on top! I would advise everyone to find another restaurant!

This is a casual, fun place. Schnitzel and of course Pretzels are great. Sat outside with great weather and had a great time. Beer was also exceptional

Since we wanted Italian food, the pizza boards immediately caught our eye. Since the outdoor area was shaded and on our way through the pedestrian zone by the market, we sat down and were immediately greeted with a very warm welcome. I ordered a banana wheat beer because I couldn't imagine what it would taste like. Unfortunately, they ran out of freshly tapped wheat beer, so the friendly waiter offered to pour one 50 meters away and then add a banana to it. We agreed on a non-alcoholic wheat beer, which he had available, and then there was a draft wheat beer left. I never want to drink anything else again. The banana beer was amazing. Just like the pizzas, which definitely no Italian can make better (or bigger). Delicious and inexpensive! Despite being extremely hungry, we couldn't finish half, so they packed it for us. Thank you so much for the friendly advice and service; you can really tell they put their heart and soul into this job. I hope a lot more people try it out.

Very nice place. Friendly server, who informed us in advance that there might be a wait for the food because they were serving a large group, which we greatly appreciated. In the end, it was quick. We ordered the pretzel and sausage with beer sauce, both very tasty. Great location for exploring the city before/after.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Bier Brezel restaurant in Heidelberg and can only say positive things! I ordered the Räuberteller (pretzel dish), and it was simply outstanding—incredibly delicious and perfectly prepared. Every bite was a delight! I would especially like to highlight the friendly staff. They were extremely friendly, attentive, and made the visit a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I highly recommend the restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit.

The currywurst was most likely reheated from the day before. A boiled sausage...not very tasty. As compensation for the missed culinary delights, we would have expected at least a small gift from the house. They also complained that we used too much mayo. After all, the so-called currywurst had to be disguised somehow.

We ate there as a family. The kids had schnitzel with fries, and I had homemade spaetzle (royal style). The beer came in a mug. Service was quick, as was the food. The salads were fresh, and the main courses were also quite tasty. The value for money was good, and the location is great. The style is quite rustic.

We've rarely had such bad spaetzle and such a poor salad. All in all, it was very disappointing, and the service was also abysmal.

Beautifully located next to the Holy Spirit Church, it's a nice place to sit outside. The currywurst with fries was very good, the portion was filling, and at €9.90, it was also reasonably priced. The service was very friendly and pleasant.

The server was very good - food and drinks arrived on time. She spoke english and helped me out. The Schwartzbier was not great to me, and the food was very... OK. Not great, not bad.

When we lived and studied in Hamburg, we enjoyed coming here often. Now, after 10 years, we stopped by again out of nostalgia. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The service was okay, but the food was terrible. My husband enjoyed the schnitzel, but the sauce was a pre-made mess, and I have no idea what my chicken strips were. It had a strange consistency and a peculiar taste. I didn't eat it - I didn't ask when clearing away - I guess people are used to it.

Definitely a tourist trap. I have never had such a terrible Schnitzel in my life. For €23, I expected at least a freshly prepared meal, but what I got tasted like a cheap frozen schnitzel from the supermarket—dry, overcooked, and clearly refried multiple times. My partner ordered the Currywurst, and frankly, it was nothing close to the name. The sausage tasted more like Sucuk, and the so-called curry sauce seemed like something straight out of an instant supermarket packet. Absolutely disappointing. We will not be returning.

The food was good but you can't pay by card as long as the amount is under 15EURO which surprised me. The waitress was polite but she insisted on speaking German even though I tried to tell her in English.

Seriously? The "currywurst with fries" on the menu was, in all seriousness, a microwaved Curry King! It's pretty cheeky to offer it as a meal in a restaurant... tourists might not know any better, but anyone who's eaten Curry King will immediately recognize the look of the sausage and sauce, and the taste 🤬😳 Absolutely not acceptable!

Nice quiet place with delicious food, delicious beer without stress

New owner (?) and pure disappointment. There's nothing positive about it. We weren't given a warm welcome. It even took a few moments for the waitress to "notice" us. It was dark inside, the lights were out, and the dark wood cast everything into shadow. There are a few plastic tables/chairs outside. You used to be able to sit down on pretty wooden chairs here. Next came the ordering, which was very rushed. Shortly after the cart arrived, we were supposed to order. The drinks came quickly. And they were good, but what can you do wrong with Coke/water? We waited almost 60 minutes for our food. At one point, we were given an "excuse me" ice cream with the words "it would take another 10 minutes." The tables that came after us had already eaten. The long-awaited food arrived, and we were already dreading it. A few potato wedges, a steak, and a dollop of sauce were carelessly placed on the plate. Rustic, yes, but not that big. Both steaks were about the size of a shoe sole. Both plates looked as if they had just come out of the freezer and had been microwaved. When we finally finished eating, the waitress came and asked us to pay. In the middle of our meal. Because she wanted to go home. Okay, we did. And we gave her a tip. A bad decision in retrospect. The next day, the waitress started talking loudly in another language to the neighbor (a kebab shop) over our heads. The arguments in the restaurant didn't go unnoticed either. Goodbye to a relaxed meal. We quickly packed up and were happy to be on our way again.

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant while visiting Heidelberg. We took a seat at a small table near the back. Shortly after we sat down, a waitress with a long braid rushed toward our table to grab a cup of sauces from a ledge next to me. She moved so quickly and abruptly that her hand came within just a few centimeters of my face. I genuinely thought she was about to strike me in the face—it startled me badly. What made the experience worse was that she didn’t say “excuse me” or offer any sort of apology. Her demeanor was abrupt and dismissive. To make matters more baffling, there were numerous other cups with sauce behind me, but for some reason, she chose the one directly next to my head. Although the food itself was average, I couldn’t enjoy the meal after that. I felt deeply uncomfortable, and we ended up rushing through our food just to leave. To be fair, the rest of the staff were kind and welcoming. But I’m left wondering why a restaurant that clearly caters to tourists—English menus and all—would employ someone so hostile toward them.

Tasty beer, friendly waiters, good atmosphere

A very quaint and rustic restaurant in the old town. I had a Jägerschnitzel, which was unfortunately very dry. The ingredients were still fresh, especially the mushrooms. My companion had a pizza. She ordered a Schlossgarten pizza but got the Schlossblick. The pizza was subsequently swapped. The pizza tastes very good and comes from a wood-fired oven. The schnitzel was €23, and the pizza €13.

The place is legendary, they have preserved the old texture. The food is delicious. I recommend the asparagus soup and Schlosgarten Pizza, it was very delicious and successful. Susan Hanım who made the first service was very attentive and helpful, but the guy who made the service after the change was just as indifferent… The toilets need a little more cleaning…

We were looking for a nice restaurant and wanted to avoid a "tourist dump" at all costs... Unfortunately, this place is exactly that - a simple, unloved tourist dump! It actually looked nice and quaint inside, but due to the weather, we decided to sit outside. My beer (the only one of the five beers we ordered) had large, unusual flakes and was lukewarm. When asked about it, the young female waitress just shrugged her shoulders and said she had no idea because she didn't drink beer herself. The cheese spaetzle were unfortunately also a disappointment, so we changed restaurants. No one should voluntarily subject themselves to that.

The first time I went, I would have given it a 5 stars but the new staff and cook did not deliver. Steaks were not well prepared and attention was not good. It is not cheap so I would not recommend to go there.

Are here right now and very dissatisfied. The currywurst is like rubber, the fries are soggy, the sauce comes out of the bag and, above all, the mayonnaise is completely in the sun, even after repeated pointing out... The service can't do anything either... while we were sitting here waiting for a possible order, other passers-by had already walked on for a long time, when after 15 minutes no one came... But the beer was tasty.

Mi primo y yo paramos por un pretzel y por supuesto cerveza. Las cervezas que probé fueron excelentes y los pretzels también fue excelente servido caliente y con mantequilla (? ) Nuestro servidor era excelente, pida, pronunció Valer - ree pero deletreó Walerij, y si no te pregunta si quieres mostaza burlarse de él un poco y decirle Mike de SC trató de ayudarle porque un montón de americanos como mostaza en sus pretzels. Una vez más, el chico impresionante habla por supuesto alemán, ruso y muy buen inglés!

Sitting in the beer pretzel is very rustic, the staff was super nice and the quality of the food was really good (the schnitzels were very tender). There was a great selection of dishes and the oven for the pretzels creates a cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately you can't see it from the outside, but it's worth going inside.

We visited here for dinner yesterday. There wasn't much going on, which of course plays into the service's hands. The food was a solid 3 out of 5 stars, but nothing really special. Just solid. The atmosphere was rustic, beautifully medieval.

There were four of us yesterday Dinner there and can only recommend it. Very nice service, great, varied menu with vegetarian and hearty dishes. Everything happened quickly table and looked as delicious as it tasted. We chose the tarte flambée, pizza, brewer's flatbread and spaetzle pan and the portions were large and really inexpensive. Dear beer pretzel team, keep it up!

Very average pizza, it's generally more like a beer place than food I'd say. It's just a central shop, next to the cathedral. The decoration is very good. The guy was running alone on holidays and they deserve a thumbs up, even though he was late with our order, he was kind and helpful.

We ate our dinner here on New Year's Eve and were actually satisfied, although it was rather cold at our table and the service wasn't very attentive. It didn't bother us much. We had time and the atmosphere was nice. The reason why I only give it 1 star is that when we looked at the bill we noticed that the prices didn't match those on the menu at all. For example, mulled wine outside was marked €3.50, but the bill was then charged €5.50. There was no shortage of food either and the other drinks were more expensive than stated on the menu. When we asked, they simply said that there would be surcharges on New Year's Eve. We didn't want to let a tedious discussion spoil our good mood, so we paid and left. But in retrospect I think that this is not possible and is legally borderline if not illegal. You can't just mark prices and then add more to the bill. If you want to do it that way, you have to inform the customer about the surcharges before consumption. Or even better, write down the prices correctly. I'm sorry, but I can only reward something like that with 1 star.

Quaint, rustic restaurant with charm in the heart of the old town opposite the Church of the Holy Spirit. Great atmosphere, nicely done, you immediately feel at home. The knight's meal is recommended for several people. The beer pretzel tastes good with beer. Salad is fresh and crunchy. Great, freshly tapped beer. Wine is still okay, but not the strong point of the place. Nice service that could be more attentive at times. All in all recommended.

Location: very cold and drafty. Not pleasant. Nice pizza oven though. Food: - Rumpsteak Warlord: no pepper which should be included. Generally neither salt nor buffer. Meat itself well fried, but tasteless and tough. Spaetzle only watery, no salt and above all COLD! - Tarte flambée: relatively cold and also no spices. - Beer pretzel with salmon: We asked in advance whether the pretzel was warm, and the answer was “of course” and in great detail. What came? Logically, a cold pretzel. It's clear. Two beers were also ordered. You can answer for yourself whether they came. Pepper and salt? Like the German train, with some delay. But the promised ketchup and mayo didn't come at all, so no criticism of the quality. Cream sauce was OK. Service: Friendly, but some things didn't arrive, there was no delay or goodwill. The blame was placed on the colleague. Even the cream sauce was charged for, although it was only ordered so that the spaetzle could get some temperature. Conclusion: never again! Terrible and absolutely not recommended!
