Got Bobkes from Beba. From the only restaurant inside a museum - I would expect to be able to get a cup of coffee or a cold beverage, in the reasonable one and a half hours before the museum's closing time. This does not seem to impress them: hence the low rating, for being unavailable for the most basic function it is supposed to serve, being a museum's cafeteria. ** Response to Beba's question: I couldn't get a break at the only place in the museum that could serve coffee or any other refreshments, today at 17:30. A waiter told me nothing is served anymore today. the museum closed at 19:00. How can you justify taking the place of a museum cafeteria, when your opening hours do not match the museum's hours?! ** Response after owner's edit: After a few hours at the museum already, I had to go somewhere else to get a break, and it eventually didn't make sense anymore to return for another exhibition. Post Covid days are not something new by now, after this beautiful, lively urban summer, and it is no news a big exhibition is about to end this week, so there are actually no surprises nor excuses in those departments. This is something I feel the museum should be informed of, and take in account. Good luck, I wish upon you more flexibility in the future. ** Edit @2: After my edit in response to lame excuses by the business, the business also reedited their response and chose to not ad to - but to leave out their initial ridiculous excuses. As of September 2025 I got a message from google, that the business has requested to remove this review on ground of defamation, which is in itself an aggressive act of defamation. So here's what public relations mean to you, and relevant reaction to customer's claims and interaction. This merely adds another reason for why I do my best to inform people why they should refrain from visiting Beba.

The service is a disaster. The garden terrace opens and closes at random, unpredictably. The museum restaurant is completely booked by various tour groups. Arranging a meeting there is a waste of time.

Overpriced glasses of cremant were totally flat, when asking for new ones after the first sip, we got new glasses with one third less of content. Superslow service without any apologies for anything. Why did I include a tip, never again spending a single penny on Beba!

The food is not tasty, the service is terrible, the room smelled, but most importantly, the food is disgusting

On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, three of us sat down at Beba around 2:30 p.m. The restaurant was about a quarter full. We placed our order and paid at the counter. After waiting more than 30 minutes, we complained about our food at the counter. Our server promised to check. After about 15 minutes, the food for two people arrived. After complaining again at the counter and to a different server, we were informed that the weekly special, for which we had already been waiting about 45 minutes, would be ready faster than another dish. We didn't take any further delays. Then a young man appeared at the table, apologized for the delay, and offered us three espressos as compensation – which he then brought us right away, while we were still eating – without sugar or spoons. After another 20 minutes, the third dish arrived. We were very annoyed because we had to wait so long and lost time at our exhibition, and were also blamed for the delay because we hadn't ordered the weekly special. By 3:30 p.m., the restaurant was almost empty. We know it's possible to forget something, but it's bad character to blame our guests for mistakes. Unfortunately, we weren't able to enjoy the meal. Stopped by for an afternoon snack and was pleasantly surprised. Delicious drinks, good coffee and the best gf orange cake. Will def return for brunch.

They were selling the smallest empanadas for 5,5€ at groupius bau. Flavor was ok, nothing special

Hello dear Beba team, we visited you for brunch yesterday and were unfortunately a bit disappointed. The food tasted good (although the buffet wasn't exactly what you'd expect from a brunch buffet), but the service and overall organization were unfortunately not good at all. A few small examples: We were told at the beginning that all coffee specialties were included, but suddenly I was supposed to pay for the cappuccino. All the tables (which had been reserved for later) were set (plates, glasses, carafe of lemonade), and we had to set our own table. There was no tea at all that day. We sometimes had to wait a very long time for the food to be refilled, and the line at the buffet stretched halfway across the restaurant. With one exception, we didn't dare to speak to the staff. That's almost normal for Berlin Mitte, but this was next level. It felt like every question was one too many. Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant experience, especially since we had visitors who weren't from Berlin. And we had a three-year-old child with us, so I thought it was a great deal to charge half price. Best, Sarah

Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy it. The salad was just dressed with oil, the chicken leg was burnt, and the rice with lentils was cold (dessert was okay). No German is spoken, even if they answer in German.

Breakfast on a wintry Saturday – it was perfect for us. The buffet was plentiful, full of exciting offerings, and the coffee was good quality. We'd love to come back.

A coffee here is more like tea with coffee flavor. And service somehow feels like they’re doing everything against their will, don’t expect to receive a friendly smile.

The Food at the buffet was in total good, the variety of dishes was sufficient and we enjoyed delicious Israeli food. The service is a disaster, although it is a buffet. The dishes were not renewed for long time in between, the staff was not communicative and some extra orders came after very long time. 26€ per person is a bit expensive, due to the fact the drinks are not included.

We went to the New Years Brunch for the second time and can highly recommend it. Delicious dishes, great selection, friendly service and very child-friendly!

We were there today for a children's birthday party with six children. The food was lovingly prepared and incredibly tasty! All the children were thrilled. Most of all I have to thank you because they made everything without garlic for an allergy sufferer 🙏🙏🙏 It was wonderful from A to Z and very fair value for money! The brunch was great! The food was good and the room was always full. This sometimes makes it a bit uncomfortable because it is narrow and confusing. The buffet was beautifully presented and varied. The service was nice, but sometimes a bit overwhelmed and uncoordinated due to the large number of people. Nevertheless, we felt very comfortable because the bustling atmosphere also created a nice atmosphere. Gladly again!

Very nice buffet on Sunday - 26 € per person. Majority of dishes were vegetarian. There are not many options but the quality and taste are brilliant!

We booked this place for a summer party for our employees. Everyone loved the location and the food. There was misunderstanding of communication in the contract, that made some unfortunate event at the end. But nevertheless the service was polite and friendly. The drinks and food was delicious and unique. And the atmosphere of the location was amazing.

We booked until 2am and had to leave at 1:45am. impudence. I am paying for a service that is not guaranteed. I can only advise against this location. We came from all over the world, even Montreal, based on the reviews.

Stereotypes are a real time saver. If you want a cheap feed, go lebanese or Turkish; stereotype says you'll get a cheap feed, with minimal fuss and inexpensive ingredients. The Israeli/Jewish business stereotype (I'm the latter); we make the best possible product we can think of and charge as much as we think enough customers will pay. That's what you get here. Fabulous food from quality ingredients, really well put together, at a highish price. Seems that whatever issues there were with the Israeli boss (yeah, they can take care to stressful heights (he says euphemistically)) have settled (yeah, i know how to ask the staff, without asking them). All that and a place in berlin that knows how to make coffee. If the prices are ok for you, come and settle into a cut above.

Very nice restaurant with a nice terrace. The service was very friendly! I can highly recommend the artichokes and hummus!

Food was something unusual and good. Unfortunately, the daily special and other dishes were no longer available at 2 p.m. You have to order at the kiosk at the entrance. When paying with a card you will be asked to add a tip of 10 or, better yet, 15%. Until then, no services had been provided. The interaction is not unfriendly but overall rather uncaring and disinterested. Food is then brought to the table, but you have to get your own cutlery. Maybe the whole service concept should be reconsidered.

+The food was amazing. - The overall experience was not great… 1. The owner spoke very rudely to one of the wait staff loudly & in front of customers. It was unkind & unprofessional. 2. We made a reservation weeks ago for lunch but they did not have a table reserved for us when we arrived. 3. The prices and food do not match the level of service…no beer glass available after asking, needing to ask for water glasses after ordering a bottle, only outdoor seating available because of the nice weather but no mention of this on the website or when making a reservation. 4. Food at lunch should not take 45 minutes to come out. The food was truly great but it just doesn’t seem like they know how to run a restaurant and I worked in the industry for more than 10 years…so I’m also super forgiving knowing that when it’s super busy sometimes service can be slow. My impression was it’s simply run poorly by management. To to be fair, it was my 1st time there so it could have just been a bad day…

My review applies to the outdoor area on a Sunday lunchtime. When you read the story of how it came about in the menu, you have high expectations, but then it starts. To order, you have to go in. When ordering dishes from the menu, you will be informed that the menu has been updated and that some dishes are no longer available. Then you should go to the table and food will be served. When the food arrives and you notice that the drinks are missing, you find out that you should have picked them up somewhere else. The sandwiches are missing fries. A server left with the information and was never seen again. another offered us cookies as compensation. two came. The food tasted good, but I felt it was overpriced. Overall, I would say wanted to, but unfortunately couldn't.

One of my favorite restaurants in Berlin. Brunch on Sunday is particularly recommended.

As a former employee of this restaurant, I feel compelled to share my deeply horrible experience with the management. The behavior exhibited by the boss, Shany, was nothing short of appalling. Not only did they foster a hostile work environment, but they also engaged in the appropriation of Palestinian cuisine while staunchly supporting apartheid and the colonization of Palestinian land. Additionally, the constant misgendering I endured, coupled with a complete disregard for my identity as a trans person, made my time at this establishment incredibly difficult and emotionally taxing. In summary, my experince at this restaurant can only be described as horrendous. It's important to address and condemn such behavior, and I stand firmly against Zionism while advocating for the liberation of Palestine.

Says it is open here but there is a sign saying it is closed at the door. Edit: Saturday at 4pm there was a sign over the other sign saying “closed” and I asked the people at the lobby and she said it was closed, multiple times. It indeed looked open but there was a sign saying closed and the staff of the museum said so too. Edit: Upping to 3 stars as it seems to be a misunderstanding and the business is replying in good spirit! Probably the person that didn't allow me in at the museum after asking a few times was just badly informed. Will happily change it up when I visit next. Thank you Shani.

Sunday Brunch outside in beautiful sunshine. Food was fantastic, light refreshing and flavoursome. Each bite added a new layer of complexity to the pallet. 100% would recommend to anyone!

I took advantage of the Sunday brunch. I made reservations in advance, and although the price is known and is €11 per person, it actually costs a lot more. There was no information from the staff about what the price included, because the drinks were definitely paid for and expensive (coffee). I think it's worth just going there like a restaurant and ordering from the menu. I ate little and paid a lot! The food was tasty, especially the baked cauliflower, and I might add that the bruch included vegetarian dishes apart from smoked salmon. I definitely won't come back.

I liked it enough. The food is good and plenty. But the drink service was really slow. Did not enjoy seeing a hairy back in a restaurant from one the staff members. A lot of dishes had coriander in them. So I had to have my friend taste everything before me to make sure I wouldn't accidentally eat coriander or any nuts. Allergens where not listed.

The homemade lemonade is highly recommended, wonderfully fresh and sour. It's not really cheap, but every bite is worth it. A real feast for the eyes and the palate! The atmosphere has something hall-like about it. But here you sit well and have enough space.

Do yourself a favor and don't go to this place. Unfriendly servers and food does not look fresh.

Simple the best branch I ever had!

Went for the Sunday brunch and it was sublime. Fresh, tasty and varied dishes including desserts and either a well made espresso or a lemonade. All in all for the quality and number of different dishes well worth the price. Service was also really good..friendly smiley and welcoming. Would definitely count this as a must eat if in Berlin for the weekend.

Wow! This place is a must! We were here a group of people for few times and last one was also the Sunday buffet! I must say, everything but really everything is just fantastic! The food is fresh! The place is clean the stuff is really nice (each and every one of them) and the taste! Oh the taste is amazing! Everything is super tasty from the main dishes to the special desserts! Also a fantastic place for just having a cup of coffee, if you're not hungry. And make sure to see the art exhibitions at Gropius Bau, they're always fascinating! Highly recommended!

Ein wunderbarer Ort. Ich war schon mehrmals dort, auch zum Essen. Der Raum ist, wie der gesamte Gropius-Bau, eine Augenweide: großzügig und klassizistisch zurückhaltend. Das Beba-Team ist absolut cool. Freundlich, kosmopolitisch, agil. Es handelt sich nicht um althergebrachten Kellner-Service und man muss sich auf Wartezeiten einlassen (drängeln oder quengeln: not an option). Das Beba ist kein geschmiertes Uhrwerk an Service. Aber wer will schon in einem geschmierten Uhrwerk trinken und essen? Das Angebot ist vielfältig und alles von sehr guter Qualität. Heute hatte ich einen Orangenkuchen, den ich mit einem Freund teilte. Der Kuchen hat Leysieffer-Qualität, frisches und natürliches Aroma. Auch die Kaffeevariationen sind über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Hier gibt es nicht den üblichen Museums-Nepp. Die Bedienungen sind unglaublich nett und kommunikativ, hier ist eine frische neue Generation unterwegs und man gibt gerne ein ordentliches Trinkgeld.

Ein absoluter Abstieg gegenüber den früheren Pächtern. Desorientiertes Personal, fast nur englischsprachig (für mich kein Problem, für andere schon), am Samstagnachmittag um 14.15 Uhr noch zwei angebrochene Kuchen vorhanden. 1 Besteck zu Kaffee und Kuchen fehlte gänzlich, auf Nachfrage gab es auch Zucker und zwei Essgabeln anstelle von Kuchengabeln. Kaffeelöffel wurde geteilt. Kuchenqualität ist den Preisen nicht angemessen, über den Kaffee schweigen wir. Kein zweites Mal! Allerdings ist adäquates Café-Angebot rund um den Potsdamer Platz auch Mangelware. Typische Touri-Abzocke.

Service absolut unorganisiert und planlos, daher lange Wartezeiten auf Getränke und Essen und bis man überhaupt sitzen kann.

Ich weiß nicht, wie lange man im Restaurant warten muss, bis man wenigstens einen Platz bekommt. Von einem Kaffee ganz zu schweigen.

Ich habe mich nach vielen Besuchen nun zu einer Rezension entschieden, denn das Personal ist wiederholt das unfreundlichste alle Museen in Berlin. Die Bedienung ist motzig und ruppig. Das kuchenstück hätte nicht kleiner sein können und der Kaffe schmeckt wässrig.

Beautifully designed eatery in Gropius Bau. Tried the mezze platter. While everything was very tasty, it was a bit too salty to my taste. Aubergine and cauliflower were my favourites. While the hummus was quite decent, it was a bit dried on the top - to me a sign of leaving it open for too long. Schug was excellent. Service was as friendly as Berlin usually offers, but also as slow as it could get. It was not even a peak time and it took 5 mins until I was offered a table, and 20 minutes until my order was taken. Once ordered, food was served very fast, though.

Wir haben hier die Weihnachtsfeier von unserer Firma verbracht, und ich muss sagen, dass ich in meinem ganzen Leben noch nie so gute, jüdische und libanesische Küche gegessen habe. Der Service war einzigartig, das Essen von höchster Qualität und extrem frisch und wir haben den Abend sehr genossen. Volle fünf Sterne!

Peinlicher Laden, man spricht kein Deutsch aber auch Englisch wird hier nur marginal verstanden. Bestellungen gehen im Chaos unter, ständig irren Servicekräfte mit Bestellungen von Tisch zu Tisch und fragen wer es denn bestellt hätte. Kaffee nur lauwarm. Die hohe Bestuhlung hinten ist samt Tischen teils sehr wacklig und defekt. Alles in allem kein Ort den man weiter empfehlen könnte.

Der Service ist praktisch nicht vorhanden. Die Servicekräfte unterhalten sich lieber untereinander. Als wir (7 Personen) endlich jemanden an den Tisch bekamen, konnten wir bestellen. Nach 20 Minuten war der bestellte Kaffee immer noch nicht da, geschweigedennder bestellte Kuchen. Wir sind frustriert gegangen.

A really beautiful, airy Mediterranean restaurant located in a museum, with friendly service. I came here for a work meeting with someone in my industry. We ordered the mezze platter, which was huge, shareable, and very pretty! We also ordered coffees and chatted here for three hours, with no problem. The prices were more expensive compared to other places, but priced that way because of the museum location, I’m guessing!

Nous sommes tombés sur ce restaurant par hasard, attirés par l'afffiche colorée. Quelle chance ! C'était vraiment délicieux. Des assiettes aux saveurs méditerranéennes remplies de saveurs toutes plus délicieuses les unes que les autres. Très bon et très sain. Et un service adorable.

Tried the hummus here the other day. Taste was just ok, didn't seem super fresh unfortunately. The staff is friendly though and service is fast. The outdoor seating area is nice when weather permits.

Nice place to grab some food after visit. Jewish cuisine from different countries. Leek with labneh was delicious. Be patient regarding service (a bit slow). Staff is pleasant. Credit card accepted.

Ambiente wie eine Kantine Das Essen war lecker. Die Preise sind teuer bis überteuert Die Getränke sind naja nix interessantes (Home made lemonade und Wein) und überteuert für winzige Gläser. Service war sehr langsam und uninteressiert. Ja, zwei Kellner für alle Leute. Das ist keine Ausrede. Alles war langsam. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen.

Totally underestimated Israeli food. You can combine it very nicely with a stroll through the exhibitions at "Gropius Bau". The Sunday brunch is one of my favorites ♥️

Came for lunch, a really interesting menu based on Jewish food with the influences of the areas the diaspora spread to. Very generous portions (particularly the sandwich!) and absolutely delicious. Prices towards the high end but very worth it (e.g. Sandwich was 18 Euro but was massive and came with chips and salad that were both large.) Really interesting food, and a lovely waiter

Delicious Israeli-inspired dishes with gourmet details. Their menu had several vegan options. During stretches of better weather, the tables and ordering trailer are outside--the kitchen is still in the Martin-Gropius-Bau Museum basement. They have some beer selections. We went for lunch on a Sunday and it was not too busy, but very, very good. Don't miss their hummus, nor the eggplant.

Ich kann dieses Mahl leider nicht zu mir nehmen da es nicht schmeckt ich kann das Restaurant auf keinen Fall weiterempfehlen. PS das Wasser sieht nicht nur aus wie Seife es schmeckt auch so.
