Beachclub am Schlosshotel in Kelkheim (Taunus)

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful spot... Unfortunately, nothing remains of it—except for the view. First, the opening hours were reduced to Fri. - Sun. Unfortunately, even that is no longer reliable. I've walked there from Königstein several times on such days, only to find that it was either closed, or I was more or less politely informed that there was a private party taking place that evening, something about which, of course, there was no previous information online. Then, suddenly, it was no longer possible to pay for drinks in cash. So, you now have to pay for each drink—even if you pick it up yourself—with a card. Cash has already been abolished here in anticipation, and your bank now knows how much beer or wine you've consumed at Rettershof. Cheers! The latest "innovation" is that a smoking ban has been introduced on the "beach"—that is, under the open sky(!). When I asked the reason for this, the hotel manager told me that this step was taken due to occupational health and safety. However, this raises a question: Who is actually supposed to be protected by such a ban? After all, there are no service staff who could even come remotely close to smoke in the open air! Motto: We are politically correct to the core – even for no reason at all. In my opinion, everything is being done here to ruin what is essentially a fine institution. In any case, I will no longer stand in the way of these efforts by generating revenue and will have my drinks served – usually even cheaper – at a table in another beer garden in the future. What a shame!

Actually, a really beautiful location with a great view of the Taunus Mountains. A large sandy area, well-attended, and at times quite crowded. If only the opening hours were maintained reliably, and many paying guests weren't rudely harassed by some waiter to leave the premises immediately during opening hours when they pass through the open gate and settle down for a while on the fully set-up venue in the perfect weather. Nobody would know that an open gate and a closed bar are supposed to mean that entry is prohibited – it's not stated anywhere, and it's the team's fault if they don't close the gates or maintain the opening hours. So, get used to a tone that suits your offerings and the actually great location – then maybe we'll come back again.

The most beautiful spot in Kelkheim to enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine or Aperol. The tarte flambée is always a hit.

A great beach for relaxing, with peace and quiet. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The food could be improved, considering the prices.

Great location, but beware: neither cash nor credit cards accepted. Only debit cards. The prices and selection are really good, and it's a nice place to grab a drink.

Please write down the exact opening hours and stick to them. You drive here especially, and then it's closed. Very annoying.

You just have to read the previous reviews, which in my opinion are absolutely correct. Now there is also the fact that on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024 (in bright sunshine and 24 degrees) the website says: open. Can't it be clearly communicated on the website that the season is apparently over?! It's so amateurish how this beautiful place is run.

It's a shame, but we won't go to this beach club anymore...... Should be on, as described on the website. we come from Oshel. This isn't the first time that it's just CLOSED. We had it several times last year. Apparently they don't need it. Open sign at the entrance today, but it's closed!!!!! If there were no cash register...HUE - indictment How good that there are other very good beach clubs.

Nice location with reasonable prices for snacks and drinks, considering that the beach club apparently belongs to the high-priced castle hotel. But they only have a chance at this moderate price level.

Lots of free shots for Halloween, can only be recommended

Keine Zufahrt über Friedhof Fischbach!!!! Die Zufahrt liegt zwischen Kelkheim Fischbach und Königstein Schneidhain. Der Ort ist super schön auch mit Kindern. Liebevoll auch an die Kleinen gedacht. Cocktails auch Alkoholfrei zu bekommen. Immer wieder gerne

Gehobene Preise für Selbstbedienung

Schöner Beachclub mit toller Bar und leckerem Essen. Schöne Atmosphäre.

Generell eine sehr, sehr schöne Location mit eimaligem Flair. Leider stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht. Generell ist das Preisniveau üblich, aber man wird nicht bedient und steht sehr, sehr lange an und wird von leicht verwirrten Mitarbeitern bedient. Die Snacks mit Pommes Bratwurst und Waffeln sind passend, aber 8€ für ein Gin-Tonic von der Theke und 7€ für ein Glas Wein auf das ich 30min gewartet habe ist too much. Schult eure Mitarbeiter besser, seid auf Zack und legt Wert auf eine kompetente zügige Abwicklung im Kassenbereich.

Es ist ein Wunderschöner Ort zum Verweilen aber wer auch immer da die Organisation von der Bewirtschaftung macht, hat auf ganzer Linie versagt. 2 Leere Hütten und die Schlange der wartenden Menschen wird immer Länger. 30min anstehen für ein Getränk ist Normalität. Das muss einfach besser gehen, dann wäre es ein Highlight im Taunus.

Netter, kleiner "Beachclub" in der Natur mit guter Bar und ordentlichen Snacks.

Schön angelegtes Areal mit Sand …bis in die Abendstunden Sonne.. es gibt eine kleine Auswahl an Speisen und Getränke welche aber vollkommen ausreichend sind. Das einzige was verbesserungswürdig ist, wäre wenn 2 Personen die Getränke zubereiten bzw. ausgeben würden. Oft steht man eine Zeit um Getränke zu bekommen oder eine Essensbestellung aufzugeben..
