The Gimbacher Hof, a Kelkheim institution, is always worth a visit. Home-style, authentic Hessian cuisine of very good quality. Fresh, tasty, beautifully prepared, tastes great. The Frankfurter Schnitzel is recommended. Beautifully located with a beautiful beer garden under shady trees, children's playground, small lake and a chapel. Overall pleasant atmosphere. Very friendly and fast service. Top. Good value for money. Absolutely satisfied. Absolutely recommended. We always enjoy coming back.

Indifferent to rude waiters, dry cake, small, expensive, stale coffee, strange allocation of seats. Maybe depending on the weekend? Or I'm spoiled...🤔

The service was quick and nice. Our son was also greeted very friendly. Food came quickly. But you can argue about the price/performance ratio. Schnitzel with salad and spaetzle were okay, for just under 19 euros I've had better ones in terms of taste and quality. I find the condition of the playground appalling. It should be closed. The playhouse is almost falling apart, parts are missing. The bench is already broken including the attachment for the legs. The slide has had better days. Sand was clean and the animals relaxed.

We have visited the restaurant again for a long time. There was a change of ownership here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The toilet facilities have been nicely renovated. The ambience under the new umbrellas in the garden restaurant is also very nice. However, there is still room for improvement in terms of taste when it comes to food...

Very nice restaurant, lovingly designed with an eye for detail, super friendly staff, I was there very often as a child and loved it, the food was really great, completely satisfied, we would be happy to eat there again. Big praise keep it up 👍

The owners are pretty much the last people you want to talk to. The farm owner just insulted us because our 3-year-old fed the goats next to the playground with clover and meadow herbs. He shouted something about a report and the little one is now totally scared. We have been guests here for 3 generations but I have never experienced anything like this. I can also spend the evening in the train station district, where people have similar conversations at a similar level. Goodbye forever.

Went for a walk to Gimbacher Hof on a Monday evening and wanted to eat something in the beer garden. We came up from the chapel and went down into the beer garden area to find a place. There were 2 people sitting at a table of eight who had already finished, the empty dishes were still on the table. We asked the gentlemen if there were 2 places left, which was answered in the affirmative. After maybe 3 minutes, the boss came to the table, picked up empty dishes and said unfriendly and without greeting: "The table is reserved, the queue is at the front" (there was no reserved sign on the table and no queue either!). In fact, there is now a sign at the top entrance that says “You will be seated,” which was not there on the last few visits. However, after this unfriendly form of “reprimand”, we lost our appetite. Still 2 stars because we know that other waiters there are friendlier and more helpful when looking for a seat.

Very nicely located restaurant with a great outdoor area under shady trees, children's playground, small lake, free parking and good food. Prices are high, portions are sometimes the size of children's portions (schnitzel tasty, but as big as a beer mat). I wasn't really full.

The beer garden itself is very nice! However, the playground is a total disaster! When we were there today and were playing on the frog seesaw, the seat suddenly slid forward. As a result, one of us suffered a serious injury due to a crush injury between our legs! When you looked closer you saw that everything on the play equipment was wobbling and there were places everywhere where you could get caught. I think the playground is so bad that it needs to be closed immediately. The tractors also drive along the path at high speed without any consideration. Take care of your children! PS: the mountains of wasps on the cakes aren't particularly inviting either. Ps2: the coffee is too weak.

It's more of a restaurant/café for eating out than a "farm" with an adventure factor for the children. There is a playground with little shade and few seating options. Next to it is an enclosure with goats (which, by the way, have hardly any shade) and in the inner courtyard you can catch a glimpse of horses and a large cow. The service was very nice (except for 1 waiter); Cake was delicious, coffee cups were only half full... Well, and there is a changing facility. Since we actually wanted something more for the child (2-3 years), i.e. for us, we were a bit disappointed.

One of my favorite places in the entire Main-Taunus district since childhood. Legendary outdoor area with beautiful plane/chestnut trees. Home-made cider and hand cheese just the way I like it. Horse paddocks, riding stables and campsite in the immediate vicinity, walks are excellent. The whole corner is magical and you seem to go back in time.

Everything was great - swapping pomme fries for spaetzle unfortunately wasn't possible and so we had to pay extra for 4 children's menus instead of two. A bit more flexibility would be cool. Otherwise great location! 😸

Five of us were there on the weekend afternoon around 3:30 p.m. It's better to make a reservation on the weekend with several people. Service very fast, atmosphere very nice in good weather. Food was tasty, portions could have been a little larger. There can also be parking problems at weekends.

A price-performance hit in the middle of nature. We were welcomed by extremely friendly service staff and were completely satisfied with our stay. My wife had the Frankfurter Schnitzel, which was fried thin and crispy, and my saddle of veal steak was grilled to perfection medium and juicy.

Such a good Rippchen! We all had different dishes, and there was nothing left on the plates. I have come here since childhood and return every time I'm in Germany. Delicious Hessian cuisine and the most yummy homemade cakes. Not to forget the Äppler and Apfelmost made on the premesis. I'll be back, no doubt, and highly recommed coming here. Atmosphere is good out- and inside. Love Gimbi!

Super delicious cake. The hot food was also good. The salad dressing alone is bland, apart from the fact that the salad was drowned in it.

A nice place to visit in a great setting. Today we only had coffee and cake. There was a large selection of cakes.

I'm totally thrilled 🤩 Mega delicious food. I have rarely eaten such a delicious, perfectly fried rump steak. And all at fair prices. I will be happy to come back and can only make one recommendation. As a highlight I can recommend the homemade lemonade 👌

It was a wonderful family celebration in beautiful surroundings! Very nice and attentive service, great food, very good cake. We even received the sweater that was left behind in the restaurant - thank you very much!

What's going on there??? What a shame: we were once again looking forward to good Hessian food. But so much was wrong during our visit on a recent Sunday evening. The boiled beef was tough, with hard potatoes, the green sauce (hardly homemade, far too white, so few herbs and little taste), a portion was forgotten by the waiter, the Frankfurter Schnitzel was limp (from the freezer?), breading looked nasty, stained, the tarte flambée with low-quality bacon is worse than from the supermarket. Apple cider went like this. Only the hand cheese with music was perfect. However, the waiter only served the typical caraway seeds after requesting it. Too expensive for the below average quality. In order to win us back as guests who have been there regularly for 40 years, the new operators should make a huge effort. Spoken briefly with the boss, strange that he didn't ask if it was tasty. Such a beautiful place, at least the ambience is nice.

A very sweet place, a dream in the summer heat. For that reason alone we will come back. The young man who served us was very friendly and helpful. We got the food from someone else who seemed slightly annoyed. The food and beer are unfortunately bland, but I generally like it a little more spicy.

I had Wiener Schnitzel, nothing special, others had asparagus or cream schnitzel. Tastes like everywhere else. What was really good, for dessert there was vanilla ice cream with hot berries, here the berries were served separately, which I thought was great because I don't eat that.

After a break of around 30 years from visiting, we spontaneously drove to Gimbi on Whit Monday (14oo), hungry... Parking lot? Lucky. Crowd...All hell broke loose. The choice of seating...was kindly assigned to us. Well organized in open cake self-service. Operating areas with well-organized service. Even with the holiday rush, we remained quick and friendly. The food was of the same quality as we remembered. I admire the kitchen team's drive to not only offer a balanced Hessian menu and also a seasonal asparagus menu, but also to deliver perfectly. The drumming is still beautiful, with. the beautiful trees, well-kept interior and garden Summarized...! Location, atmosphere, service, cuisine, value for money. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thanks to everyone for your commitment.

Very nice restaurant with a wonderful beer garden

Unfortunately, our visit to the Gimbacher Hof was a big disappointment. The schnitzel was tiny and more like a children's portion. The asparagus was partly brown and woody, far from fresh vegetables. Although there was a cappuccino on the house as an apology, that was no adequate substitute for a delicious dinner. We won't be coming back and can't recommend the restaurant. Only the cake was convincing and was still good.

Wonderful destination with exquisite delicacies. The highlight in every season. Very idyllic location, beautiful beer garden, which is of course full when the weather is great. That's a good thing, because good restaurants are well attended. We couldn't find any space outside and took a seat in the very comfortably furnished interior, everything elegant with tablecloths, candles and flowers on the tables. Very welcoming atmosphere. The coffee was absolutely world class, I love coffee, this is in the top 3 that I have had in a restaurant. Mega! And the cake!!!! Wow. There are even vegan cakes for guests who don't want to consume animal products. For all other connoisseurs, the absolute highlight here is the apple cider cake, I love it. It's absolutely worth every calorie. Just like all the other cakes and cakes that are made here by the team themselves and offered in a large selection and of excellent quality. We are very enthusiastic about the wonderful ambience, the professional, very friendly and customer-oriented service of the team and their outstanding services in all areas of gastronomy at the Gimbacher Hof. We will be happy to visit the "Gimbi" again very soon and will take enjoyable breaks from our walks there again. Absolute recommendation. Many thanks to the entire team at Gimbacher Hof.

Great ambience! The service was friendly despite the full beer garden and stress. The food was very tasty! Okay, the salad could have used a little more seasoning, but salt and pepper were on the table. The cake was also very good. We will definitely come back.

New host, we were happy and I wanted a delicious schnitzel. Phew, the boss was super nice, an older waitress who came later and a lady of the heart, super nice and attentive. Unfortunately, she only came to the table briefly to say good-bye. Our waitress was grumpy, handled the fork and knife on the wrong side when setting the table and took forever to do everything. And no, there wasn't much going on. The schnitzel was frozen, the fries were ok, the salad was delicious. Boss, you have taken over an incredibly beautiful shop, get a good chef or do it yourself, you can do it and I know staff is hard to find, especially good and nice ones. The price was ok, but I'm happy to pay more for good quality at the location.

Very, very nice beer garden, very tasty cakes and regional dishes. Parking is difficult on the weekends and the lot fills up quite quickly. Good thing there are lots of great walking and hiking trails nearby...

The food was okay, but nothing special. The side salad was bad (dressing was virtually non-existent) and too expensive. Our waitress didn't seem to be fully engaged and seemed quite unmotivated. It's actually a nice place to visit after/during a hike, but you shouldn't have too high expectations. We didn't like the coffee that much either.

Wir hatten 1 x Tafelspitz kund 1 x Sülze gewählt. Es kamen drei hauchdünn geschnittene Scheiben Tafelspitz, die z.T. auch noch Knorpel hatten. Man hatte das Fleisch nicht abgetropft, so dass die Beilagen im Wasser schwammen. Die grüne Soße war so auch verdorben. Das Gericht war nicht mehr heiss und wenig bis gar nicht gewürzt. Die Sülze war eiskalt als käme sie direkt aus dem Tiefkühlfach. Da konnte sich kein Geschmack entfalten.

Yesterday I was at Gimbi, as the restaurant is affectionately called, for the first time in many years. I invited my son, daughter-in-law and grandson to a thank you meal and chose exactly the right place. Very cozy, super nice service and the food was very good. My son raved about his rump steak all evening, I had the sea bream, my daughter-in-law had the salad plate with sheep's cheese and my grandson had chicken nuggets. Everyone was thrilled and we were definitely not there for the last time. Especially since my grandson wants to use the playground, unfortunately it rained yesterday. All in all, big praise 👍

Beautiful beer garden in the middle of great trees. Idyllically located in the Taunus. There is a small, old playground. Very suitable as a bicycle excursion destination. My lamb's lettuce with bacon was tasty, but really small. Good selection of cakes. The service was friendly, but unfortunately not particularly attentive. We would have actually liked to order another round of drinks and also spoke to a waiter. He wanted to let the waiter in charge know. He came about 15 minutes later, which just took too long for us. Anything can happen. We would love to come back again!

Dear Gimbacher Hof, I would like to share my experience last Sunday at your pub, which was unfortunately disappointing from start to finish. I planned to order a schnitzel with green sauce as this dish was not listed on your "Easter menu". Unfortunately I was denied this. I found this approach to be neither customer-friendly nor professional. It would have just been a combination of two existing dishes on the Easter menu. The additional effort in the kitchen would have been minimal, you probably just had to communicate it. I even emphasized that I would be willing to pay extra for it. We were also disappointed when it came to cake. When we asked the waiter what varieties were available, he couldn't give us any information and suggested we just go to the cake counter. A good service staff should be trained and know the selection. Instead we had to help ourselves at the cake counter, which detracted from the cozy character of the restaurant. Additionally, we had to submit our order to the waiter, which is logistically not customer-friendly. We constantly had the impression that your service team was overwhelmed, and other guests in our area also complained. It's a real shame, but based on this experience I unfortunately can't recommend your restaurant.

Tolles Lokal in schöner Lage. Der historische Hof ist wunderbar hergerichtet und sehr einladend. Auch ein großer Spielplatz für Kinder ist vorhanden. Das Essen und der Apfelwein waren sehr lecker, die Bedienung freundlich und aufmerksam. Klare Empfehlung.

We rented the Hof Gimbach for a private party for 30 people and were very satisfied. The room was spacious and bright and offered enough space for all guests. The furnishings were modern and attractive. The service was very friendly and attentive. The service always tried to fulfill our wishes. The food was delicious and fresh. We especially enjoyed the cake. We would book Hof Gimbach again for a celebration at any time. It is a cozy place where you feel comfortable and can enjoy good company.

Unfortunately I can't give it 5 stars. Food was OK. The service could be much friendlier. We won't eat there again.

Wir kommen immer wieder gerne her. Das Essen ist lecker. Das Angebot für die Kleinen drum herum toll. Und man kann nach dem Essen noch schön spazieren gehen.

Wir waren am 11.11.23 zum Abschluss einer Wanderung mit 50 Teilnehmern zum Essen um 15 Uhr hier. E hat alles wunderbar genauso geklappt, wie ich es mit Herrn Adams-Schollmayer vom Veranstaltunsservice geplant hatte. Das Essen war hervorragend, genauso wie der Service. Dank Susanna und Mahmut wurden wir liebevoll und zügig umsorgt. Danke an das gesamte Team. Es war suuuuper bei Euch. Wir kommen gerne wieder!!!

Liegt sehr schön, toll zum Einkehren beim Wandern. Essen ist gut, Service geht so - schnell genervt. Wohl tagesabhängig.

Waren heute das erste Mal im Restaurant Essen,man fühlte sich schon wohl,als man ins Lokal kam. Sehr schönes Ambiente, sehr gutes Essen und das Personal war auch sehr nett und aufmerksam, danke für einen schönen und entspannten Abend

Ich wollte meinen 60. feiern und hatte noch meiner Familie erzählt, dass dies ein etwas besseres Restaurant sei. Ich war sehr enttäuscht. Kürbis Mango Suppe mit Maronen hat seltsam, leicht angebrannt geschmeckt. Die Schnitzel wurden nur aufgewärmt, die Panade schwammig anstatt knusprig. Die " Rahmsoße" habe ich erst gar nicht gesehen bis ich merkte, dass sie unter den Schnitzel versteckt war. Zudem war es die schlechteste Soße die ich je gegessen habe. Jede Soße aus der Maggie Tüte schmeckt besser. Der Salat war alt und fad. 18,- € für ein solches Essen ist ein absolutes No Go. Früher hat es hier sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir werden dieses Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen.
