Delicious, very good food and quick service. The food was served promptly. The restaurant was busy. Unfortunately, you can only eat within a set time frame and can't stay longer.

I give Bay Yok Heidelberg four stars. The Tom Kha soup is highly recommended – aromatic, slightly fresh and tangy, and perfectly seasoned. However, the Massaman curry was a bit too sweet for my taste, and the rice unfortunately seemed slightly overcooked. Overall, though, the service was friendly, the atmosphere pleasant, and it was still a good culinary experience. I would come back, especially for the soup.

We went out for dinner tonight, just the two of us, and it was simply outstanding! Every bite was a delight, bursting with flavor and freshness. You could really tell that the food was prepared with love and high-quality ingredients. It felt like every spoonful was nourishing your body. A wonderful meal – we'll definitely be back!

Whenever I'm in Heidelberg, I go to this Thai restaurant and have never been disappointed. The dishes are beautifully presented and flavorfully balanced. Simply delicious! The only downside is that there's no outdoor seating at this restaurant.

I can only agree with all the positive reviews. Even spontaneously, there was still space available without a reservation, the service was super friendly and attentive, the food arrived super quickly, and most importantly, it tasted incredibly good. The food was a 10/10, and despite the slightly higher price, it's definitely worth it! If you want high-quality, authentic Thai food, this is the place to be ✅

I celebrated my 18th birthday here with my family – it was absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing! There were five vegan main courses to choose from. I chose Pad Phak Wun Sen, which was absolutely delicious. <3 My family opted for the Chicken Pad Thai (highly recommended!) and the Chef Signature Dish, which is also highly recommended. The waitress was very attentive, brought us the menu quickly, and took our orders promptly. The price for the food is reasonable (around €20 for a main course), but the drinks are a bit pricey (€4.50 for a 0.3 l soft drink). I would definitely come back for special occasions!! 🤍

A very large selection of exciting and authentic Thai dishes that you rarely find. Everything is very tasty and of high quality. The prices are on the higher side, which is partly justified by the quality. Personally, I felt it could have been a bit more intense and spicy; overall, it was a bit too "tame." The tom kha gai was tasty, but I thought €9.50 for just one shrimp was a bit of a shame considering the rather small bowl. I also found €6 for a simple lemongrass tea quite steep. Nevertheless, I highly recommend it, although I think it's a bit overpriced. The service was very friendly, quick, and attentive.

We were really craving Thai food and went to BAY JOK because of the good reviews and its proximity to our hotel. Luckily, we got a table spontaneously; reservations are definitely recommended, especially on weekends. It was a truly wonderful evening. The food was simply delicious. Having been to Thailand before, we can truly attest to how authentic and delicious the dishes were! 😇 Great atmosphere and polite staff. We'd love to come back.

The price-performance ratio is rather poor, as the prices were recently raised again. For two people, a starter and main course now cost around €90. We still like going there because the food is excellent.

Das war auch nötig, denn das Restaurant war voll. Die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll, schlicht und bequem. Dabei sitzen die Gäste weit genug voneinander weg, so dass sie sich nicht gegenseitig stören. Der Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir bestellten als Vorspeise Frühlingsrollen und gebratene Wan Tan. Beide Gerichte waren außergewöhnlich gut. Keine TK-Ware, sondern tatsächlich selbst gemacht und herrlich aromatisch. Doch das war nur der Auftakt zu etwas noch viel Besserem: Die Hauptgerichte waren einfach sensationell: Ich wusste gar nicht wie unfassbar aromatisch ein rotes Thai-Curry sein kann. Das Beste, das ich jemals in meinem Leben gegessen habe. Auch das vegetarische Curry hatte eine ein noch nie zuvor geschmecktes, intensives Aroma. Auch der Reis war nicht der übliche weiße Klebreis, sondern mit Wildreis versetzt und teilweise mit Schale. Leicht, duftig und aromatisch. Ein wunderbares, selbstgemachtes Essen in einem angenehmen Restaurant. So etwas ist heutzutage eine Rarität, eine sehr schöne.

From outside the Bay Jok looks inconspicuous but inside you find a warm, modern and friendly ambience. A reservation is recommended. Very friendly service. Started with a delicious and refreshing aperitive. Dishes and some drinks are a bit high priced but of a very good taste and quality. If you are very hungry a starter is recommended, since they are delicious but not big. Main course was delectable and sufficient. Normal waiting times.

The price is appropriate for the good class and for a curry with duck I paid €24. The price is, however, completely justified. The restaurant is great for a nice evening with friends or family. However, if you just want something to eat quickly, something too classy and pricey.

I spontaneously got a table in the restaurant, incredibly friendly staff. The food was delicious and tasted natural, not at all artificial or anything like that. Ambiance was also great, quiet but still lively atmosphere. A few Buddha statues to bow to ;). Worth a visit if you appreciate Thai cuisine. Above all: the summer rolls were very highly recommended, there was a lot of coriander in them - just as a warning for those who don't like it. But so fresh, etc. By the way, food came after <10 minutes!

I can only agree with the previous speakers. Because of the many great reviews, we had dinner there this evening. It is a very pleasant and modern restaurant. We had a reservation, which was good because it was about to get full. A member of staff welcomed us very nicely and took us to our table. The menus were brought to us straight away. This is very appealing and everything reads so deliciously that you can hardly decide. There wasn't a long wait from ordering to the food being delivered. All the dishes tasted sensational. Very well balanced and the portions just right. The service was also super nice, cheerful and attentive. We will definitely come back

We ordered food to go and frankly it was easily one of our best meals in Heidelberg. Arriving at 6:00 we placed our order and it was done quickly and well packed for our 15 minute walk back to the hotel. The pad khi mau with crispy sliced duck Was outrageous…. Spicy but not too spicy as I ordered and bright with the flavor of Thai basil. My wife loved her vegetarian curry also a bright dish full of flavor. Next time we will try to reserve so we can eat there… Thus is an attractive venue and obviously very popular.

I went on holiday to Thailand a few years ago and loved the food there. That's why I wanted to go to a Thai restaurant with my husband after my vacation (I'd never had Thai food before). I then tried the green curry here at BayJok and it tasted just like in Thailand. That's what I call authentic cuisine! Simply incredibly tasty. We've been coming here regularly since then and there's nothing on the menu that I haven't really enjoyed so far. The duck salad “Laab Ped” is also particularly recommended as a starter. There is nothing better :-) The service is always great and we feel completely at home there.

A family business with very good service! Very great location & wonderful food. (You have to test the starter for 2 people). A little bit of everything. It's supposed to be good... I haven't eaten so well for a long time. We were in a hotel nearby from Munich for a few days and decided on the chance of going to the restaurant. Reservations are recommended as it is very busy

Best Thai food in town. All very fresh vegetables. The Duck I had was crispy delicious. The lovely spicy soup served as appetizer was well spiced with fresh red pepperoni. This family business had excellent service with a smile. For dessert I drank some homemade sweet, lime iced tea.

Best restaurant in Heidelberg!! There are a lot of vegan options- even the Pad Thai was possible as vegan option, which was one of the best vegan Pad Thai dishes I’ve tried in Europe!

A very nice restaurant with friendly service and a menu with a selection from starters to desserts. Of course, as is often the case with Asian cuisine in Germany, the dishes are adapted to the German palate. Overall, the food was tasty, but a really small portion for the price. The summer rolls were filled quite carelessly.

We've enjoyed eating out or ordering takeaway here for years. A reservation is highly recommended as space is limited and table distribution in the evening is pre-planned. The food is incredibly authentic and very tasty. The great art of cooking is to prepare even “simple” dishes like fried rice in a very sophisticated and delicious way. This is where the competence and skills of a kitchen become visible. No matter what we ate, it was always delicious!! Our absolute favorite dishes include the soups and Pad Thai. The appetizer platter is also always worth recommending. The service is friendly, fast and courteous. Extra requests, for example in the case of intolerances, are no problem. We can only recommend it!!

Particularly noteworthy is the attentive service. The staff was always friendly, accommodating and was available to provide competent recommendations if you had any questions about the choice of food. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and can fully recommend this restaurant.

We were at BayJok last night and were lucky because even though everything had already been reserved, we were offered a table until 8 p.m. The food was fresh, delicious and especially the “Khao Soi” (recommended by the chef) was a real treat. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, we always felt comfortable. Clear recommendation, looking forward to the next time!

A really great family run Thai restaurant! The Khao Soi was simply great – creamy, spicy and with crispy strips of dough. The green curry was also really convincing: nice and spicy and full of flavor. You can tell very clearly that the cooking here is done with a lot of love. Highly recommended!

Had dinner there. First of all surprised that people have rated this place so highly. Neither the taste of their food nor the prices are close to 100s of Thai places i have been to. They focussed on fancy presentations which indeed was really good but to be Honest they are far away from authentic taste of Thai food. Wont recommend to anyone who has eaten Thai food around the world. The only thing good from my whole order was Tom Kha soup thats costs 8 EURO for a bowl come on.

The staff tries hard and is very friendly to implement requests. It's not for nothing that reservations should be made. In terms of taste, I thought it was nice that fresh, unusual products were also used. There is always room for improvement, but the price/performance is right here. I'd love to come back!!

Bay Jok is a chic, small, lovingly decorated family-run Thai restaurant. We felt very comfortable from the start. The menu is small but completely sufficient and most importantly, very authentic. The food was really delicious and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We would go to Bay Jok again at any time.

Das Essen ist hervorragend und vergleichbar mit den originalen thailändischen Gerichten. Die Preise sind recht gehoben. Schade ist auch, dass man nur Zeitslots von 2 Stunden reservieren kann. Obwohl nichts mehr los war, wurden wir ohne Not nach dieser Zeit aufgefordert zu gehen.
