Just come back from Bangkok and still craving for Thai food, I decided to have tom yum soup for today’s dinner. I was lucky that my friend was able to reserve a table for us in the last minute. Bay joke is normally full. I enjoyed the tom yum soup and Pad thai. It’s very tasty like the one I had in Bangkok.

Every time we come here we are always amazed at the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff. Can be recommended without reservation - we have rarely eaten better Thai.

Short and sweet: This restaurant is the best Thai restaurant I have eaten at in years. Had two different dishes with duck - perfect in preparation and taste.

Great authentic Thai food. We loved the Khao Soi, Pat Khing and Som Tam. The only minor downside were some tiny Thai things like the dried shrimps missing. Nevertheless I’d recommend this place 10/10.

There were four of us at BAY JOK. Everyone enjoyed the food excellently. We didn't have to wait long. I can recommend the Prosecco Lytchi.

By far the best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. Great staff, high-quality food is also beautifully prepared, after all, the eye is there. What's also very important is that you don't have to wait long for your food. We can only recommend this 👍🏼

Hmmmm, simply delicious! Fans of Thai cuisine will love this restaurant. We were there for the second time today and it was again delicious. The restaurant is not that big, but very cozy. The food is beautifully decorated and everything tasted wonderful again.

Super vers Thais eten, alles was heerlijk! Aardige bediening. Heerlijke verse kruiden zowel met beef, kip als vegetarisch. Aanrader! Goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Was druk, wij waren met zijn twee en kregen na 15 minuutjes een tafel.

Unfortunately for me it's overrated. As a starter there was the summer rolls, which were really tiny. But at €8.50 they have a proud price. I haven't found this combination anywhere in Germany. Unfortunately, the portions of the main courses were aimed more at children. Unfortunately, my partner and I couldn't get enough of it. The taste was good, but really not great. The service was okay. However, we had to wait a few minutes for a card and empty plates were not cleared away immediately. All in all, absolutely overrated for me.

I was alone and spontaneously got a seat. The restaurant was very busy, so a reservation makes sense. The service was very nice and attentive, the food (summer rolls, green curry, Thai basil ice cream) was super fresh and very tasty! Absolute recommendation!

It was a good job we booked a table as the place was full when we arrived. Very nice decor and atmosphere - well lit, stylish and comfortable. We ordered a vegan dish with sticky rice, tofu, roasted cashews and seasonal vegetables. It was absolutely delicious. One of the best Thai meals we've ever had. For desert we had the sticky rice with coconut ice cream. Tasty without being too filling. Service was quick and very friendly. We'll definitely be eating here again as soon as possible.

This is the REAL DEAL Thai experience in Germany—well, outside of Frankfurt, that is! If you’re touring around Heidelberg and just finished walking down the castle stairs, make sure to scoot over to this Thai spot—you won’t be disappointed! They stick to traditional Thai spice levels, not the watered-down American-style version, so if you order a 5 out of 5, be prepared! I like it spicy, but I’ve found that a 3 out of 5 is perfect, and you can always add more heat with the peppers and fish sauce at the table. The flavors are incredible, the ingredients are refreshingly fresh, and the soup is to die for. Just thinking about it makes me want to visit Pattaya City again!

The team was nice. There are great vegetarian dishes. I can recommend the vegetarian version of the sour-spicy soup. You should like coriander - but then it's great! We'll be back. Oh yes - it's better to reserve in advance...

One of the best Thai meals I’ve ever had. Depth of flavors, balance, freshness all amazing. Friendly staff as well. We were lat minute on a bust week night but they were able to accommodate us nonetheless.

Exquisite cuisine in a family restaurant! The food is outstanding. Freshest herbs paired with beautifully presented plates of carved vegetables. No matter whether soups, pasta or rice dishes and of course the most tender meat are served here in exceptional quality. There are also tasty drinks and cocktails. The ambience is rounded off by a harmonious interior including subtle, Far Eastern background sound.

No need to head into town! We happened upon this restaurant as we were staying at a nearby hotel. We were lucky enough to get a table .The food was outstanding, the service was excellent, we had a thoroughly lovely evening. We would highly recommend.

The food was pretty good. The service was a bit slow and in summer it's too hot to sit inside. Otherwise it feels like an Authentic Thai Experience.

Das Bay Jok ist wohl das beste Restaurant mit thailändischen Spezialitäten in Heidelberg. Die meisten Gerichte wie etwa eine Tom Kha Gai- Suppe (diese war die beste, die ich je gegessen habe) kennt man ja, aber das Bay Jok geht hier noch einen großen Schritt weiter: Es bietet auch ganz spezielle Gerichte an, wie sie der Chefkoch aus seiner Region mitgebracht hat. Das gibt es so nirgends. Wir hatten zweimal das Khao Soi, in der Karte die Nr.155, und wir haben sie bestellt, weil wir sie nicht kannten. Das Ergebnis hat uns geschmacklich geflasht. Eiernudeln mit Hühnchen-Umterkeulen in perfekt abgestimmter Mischung aus Kokosmilch, Curry, Zitronengras (hmmm), Galangal, Schalotten, Limetten, Koriander und Lauchzwiebeln ---das ergibt eine Geschmacks-Explosion, ehrlich. Probieren Sie selbst !

Super delicious food! Also very good knowledge of gluten-free dishes. There is a special allergen menu for this and the staff also know which dishes contain gluten and which do not. An absolute recommendation with celiac disease!

We've been here several times so far, even though I'm actually the kind of person who always wants to try out a new restaurant. That alone speaks not only for how good the food is here (especially the starter platter and the green curry are our favorites), but above all for how friendly the service is. Be sure to make a reservation because it gets very crowded here very quickly. What we noticed, however, is that they have designed the restaurant in such a way that there is an unusually large amount of space between the tables. So you don't have the feeling of being restricted just to be able to accommodate more guests. So it's just as suitable for family dinners as well as date nights where you don't necessarily want to sit close to other people. Always my pleasure!

I love Thai cuisine and the food in this restaurant was definitely the best food I have ever had in a Thai restaurant. Everything was freshly prepared, prepared with love and served so nicely - everything was just right. It wasn't just me - the whole family was absolutely thrilled.

The food was really tasty, although the price was rather exorbitant. The service wasn't very friendly and the food took almost 1.5 hours to arrive. We found this block processing terrible and it was incredibly loud and uncomfortable. When I asked after about an hour (everyone else had already had their food) whether they had forgotten us, I was told to be patient. Even if the food was good, the rest was unfortunately not at all good. We're definitely not coming back. There are certainly nicer Thai restaurants in Heidelberg.

I have been eating here regularly for many years and am very satisfied. I don't know a better Asian restaurant in the area than Bay Jok. The quality holds up and has never decreased over the years. The service is friendly, funny and open, for me there is nothing to complain about here. For me, Bay Jok remains the number 1 place to go when it comes to healthy, delicious and fresh food.

I've been there several times, the food is great as always, super tasty but the prices are now extremely high. 10€ for two mini summer rolls, unfortunately the service was very unfriendly for the second time. It's a shame, because the food and ambience are really great.

Great papaya salad but ketchup based Pad Thai, if I have not been to Thailand you could have tricked me. However, this sweet pad Thai(21 Euro) might not taste good for anyone.. only 2 waiters trying to compensate the food for 42 people and one of the waiters is treating you not good. Please do not waste your money by trusting these 4.6 ratings. Management must keep their workers happy!

4 stars because it was good but it didn't blow me away. The vegetarian main courses and starters sound very tasty. The organic vegan ice cream from the Skama Bros in Bahnstadt is also great.

We spontaneously went to dinner and were lucky to get a table; Reservations recommended. The service was friendly and the food came very quickly. The dishes were freshly prepared, authentic and delicious. Only the location right on a main road is a bit like being at a train station.

We ate there for the first time a few days ago and we were very impressed. Everything was right: from first-class service with the right recommendations from starters to dessert. Fresh aromatic and delicious cuisine. The rose wine was uniquely good. Atmosphere very pleasant. We'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with our experience at Bay Jok. The lady on the phone when making the reservation was a bit unfriendly and that continued with the service. Despite a reservation, we had to wait another 10 minutes outside (we were on time) and the guests who went in shortly after us were allowed to sit down straight away. Unfortunately we were also very disappointed with the food. The first portion of rice was very dry and unfortunately so was the beef in our dish. This is much better. When we then had to wait another 15-20 minutes for the bill, we were completely served (pun intended). Didn't feel welcome and the food wasn't worth the price. Won't be coming back. Very good food. Unfortunately, the service staff was inattentive and not very friendly. We were in the restaurant at 6 p.m. and were only asked for the first time after 20 minutes if we wanted something to drink. The main course came after about an hour and a half. When we made the reservation we were told that we would only have the table until 7:45 p.m. There were just 15 minutes left to eat. Being hungry for a long time and then having to eat quickly is not very pleasant. I won't be going back there any time soon. It's actually a shame because, as I said, the food is very good.

Magical. That's a word that came to mind when I tried the chicken skewer. “That looks nice!” said the young lady who accompanied me when the starter was served. We were late and probably already had 30 Minutes before, the other guests had all placed their orders, but we were still greeted warmly, the service was friendly and quick. For my companion with celiac disease, i.e. a necessary gluten-free diet, there was a special card with clearly stated allergens, which also differentiated the options. The ICE tea was fantastic, the food was a pleasure in every respect. The reference to the spiciness for me, I rarely eat spicy food, just right. We will come again and I will recommend anyone traveling to Heidelberg to eat here.

We were lucky and got a table without a reservation. Even though the restaurant doesn't open until 6 p.m., every table was full five minutes later. It was a bit cold in the restaurant, which is unfortunately due to the fact that there is no anteroom and you go into the restaurant directly from the street. Service was nice and drinks came a little late but as I said it was full. The food was delicious, but it cooled down quite quickly. But we'll definitely be back. 👍

Unfortunately, our waitress had Airpods in her ear while serving us all evening and didn't talk to us or interact in any way. When I asked her if the dish was vegetarian, she didn't bat an eyelid and just remained silent. At the end she handed us the bill without saying a word. Something like that really doesn't work. Accordingly, no recommendation.

Always a lovely time whenever I go there, it can be pricy but in my opinion it's very worth it. I say this as each time I go there I think about the food for months until I go back there again. And another note, customers should ideally call for a reservation it gets packed fairly quickly.

We ourselves are restaurateurs with German/Chinese cuisine and were guests here today. Fortunately, we were given a small time slot with a short-term reservation, as the restaurant is completely full when it opens at 6 p.m. I'll keep it short, we've never had such good Thai food in Germany and these dishes can easily compete with our favorite restaurant in Hong Kong. We are happy to give it 5 stars out of conviction and definitely recommend it to our friends and further traveling guests when they end up in Heidelberg. Thank you very much

We were at BayJok in December as part of a conference and had an excellent meal here. The service was very attentive and was able to respond flexibly to the group's wishes. We would be happy to come back on our next visit to Heidelberg.

The food was good, nothing to complain about! It is more the service what ruined the night! There where 2 persons in the service, we had a lady that was so unfriendly to our table. Wenn you take a reservation for 6 people after 20:00 then you know that we will take a little longer. Wen the waitress after 5 minutes rudly came, to ask what we would eat. And was not happy that we need longer to look at the menu. Wenn the food came, it was quick and good! We where sitting to long i think, because the waitress came 5 minutes after we finished our food, that they will close and put directly the Bill on the table. We wanted to pay seperately, but you can only pay cash till 30 euro, nobody know that and there was nothing of a sign for that. We were irritated about that, but complaining against a waitress that don't care about anything and want you out asap, is difficult. Wenn you offer a card payment service, then don't put a stuppid rule that it need to be more then 30 euro. You are in 2024! Yes you need to pay transaction i know that also. Don't be so rude to save your self 15 cent!
