Actually quite nice, small but nice. Food was actually very good too. But at night the first one had diarrhea and then little by little each of us had it. We wouldn't just write something like that, but it's true. Very unfortunate.

The food tasted quite good. That was it. The service was attentive and nice. The atmosphere was not at all Thai. The only thing Thai was the “shrine”. My conclusion... if you don't want anything exclusive, you can go but without having too high expectations. Prices are average.

Family style Thai restaurant that exists for over 20 years. Very authentic Thai food, delicious taste. The restaurant is tiny with approx 10 tables only, so you better do a reservation in time, as it is mostly busy. Wanna Recommendation? Try the Lab Gai or Tom Kha Gai.

We had been to Baan Thai for a while and were able to get a seat in the next room. Prices have of course increased - the two of us paid around 50 euros with a starter, main course and three drinks. Portions aren't super big... but that's always been the case and isn't new! Food was delicious. Unfortunately, they probably forgot our main courses because it took a really long time and guests who came after us got their main course before us. But it wasn't bad...we had time. All in all we were satisfied.

The starters and main courses were very tasty. One of the best Thai in Heidelberg. It's a bit hidden. The service very slow, without a plan. We are dying of thirst. Ambience nothing special, typically Thai. But the food was really great

The noodles with duck were supposed to be not spicy , we asked for a spicy version and it was perfect! And the duck portion is very reasonable. Thank you very much !

A wonderful Thai restaurant with very good food

Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. But I found the food to be mediocre. Deep fried wontons could be a little crispier. The small soup with coconut milk and chicken was delicious. But I would definitely avoid dish number 92 from the menu. Unfortunately it didn't taste good at all. However, the warm nuddle soup was good and refreshing.

A restaurant to try! Off the beaten track, this cozy restaurant will take you on a journey. The dishes are fragrant and delicious. Very good value for money. Friendly welcome.

We were there again, the quality was still good, the price was still okay, the boss was always nice and friendly, as was the ambience. Of course it doesn't taste quite like Thailand, but it's close! In any case, the big beef noodle soup that we always eat smells strongly of Thailand!!!....always good!!

Unfortunately, the food was not convincing, more of a mix between Thai and Chinese. Pla Muag Pad Khimao was really boring and not spicy at all.

By far the best and most authentic Thai restaurant in Heidelberg! It always tastes super freshly prepared and is very close to the originals from Thailand. The portions are perfect and in my opinion the price is too cheap for the unrivaled quality. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. As a trained chef, I can only recommend BaanThai!

I didn't like it, and I also had a hair in my food that clearly wasn't my fault. When asked about it, I was only smiled at and unfortunately no compromise or anything similar was offered. Once and never again. There are also a lot of cobwebs in the restaurant and in the toilets, I don't want to know what the kitchen looks like from the inside when it already looks so bad in the public areas.

Gutes thailändisches Restaurant mit sehr leckeren Gerichten. Die Preise sind völlig akzeptabel (16/18 € für ein Hauptgericht). Das Gemüse ist knackig, die Entenbrust knusprig. Wenn das Restaurant voll ist, muss man länger warten, aber das nehmen wir gern in Kauf, da alle sehr freundlich sind und die Qualität eben sehr gut ist. Reservierung dringend empfohlen. Familiengeführtes Restaurant.

Ein relativ kleiner aber klasse und irgendwie gemütlicher Laden mit freundlichem und recht fixen Service. Unserer kleinen Gruppe haben alle Gericht super geschmeckt und mein Gai Phad Bai Grapau war erste Klasse mit spürbarer aber nicht übertriebenen Schärfe. Ich komme wieder 😀

Kleines aber feines Restaurant mit sehr leckeren Gerichten. Wir waren mit einer Gruppe dort (20 Personen) und jeder hat etwas leckeres gefunden. Und die Preise waren auch noch gut.

Wir waren mit Freunden im Baan Thai. Das Gericht "Knusprige Ente" war viel knuspriges Entenfleisch ganz wenig Gemüse, aber dennoch gut. Due Wan Tan Suppe hatte weniger Geschmack als gewohnt. Auf das Essen hatten wir ca. 45 Minuten gewartet.

Sehr leckeres Essen zu moderaten Preisen. Der Service kam manchmal bei vielen belegten Tischen und reichlich Abhol-Bestellungen nicht ganz nach. Wir waren aber nicht in Eile, also kein Problem.

We ordered Larp Gai, Gai pad medmamuang, Tomyam Gai, and Tomyam Gung. They are nice but we prefer a bit more spicy. Overall, the food is nice, the service is great except we were waiting for foods around 10 mins (acceptable time) and the atmosphere is super cozy.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und auch recht viel. Wir kamen zum Glück bereits um 18.00. Wir haben auf das Essen nur 30 min. gewartet , was ok ist. Doch danach füllte sich das Restaurant und die Bediensteten waren damit überfordert. Sie taten mir ja fast schon leid. Man hatte auch das Gefühl, dass sie hier noch nicht lange arbeiten. Sie waren aber sehr freundlich und haben sich auch entschuldigt, wenn etwas zu lange gedauert hat. Wir würden trotzdem wieder kommen da das Essen wie schon gesagt wirklich gut war.

Wer Thailand mag, wird das Ambiente mögen 😉 Preis für die nicht üppigen Portionen fand ich etwas hoch- hier muss man aber leider eher die Politik fr allgemeine Preissteigerungen verantwortlich machen! Von Energie bis Zutaten ist alles derart gestiegen,dass die Betreiber des Restaurants wohl der falsche Ansprechpartner sind. Unterm Strich also alles ok. Zutaten frisch, geschmacklich gut😁👍

Angelockt von der sehr guten Bewertung, war ich fast etwas enttäuscht vom Essen. Die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Mir war besonders das Hühnerfleisch etwas zu schwammig. Vielleicht war auch ein Zartmacher am Werk, die Struktur war weg.. Der Geschmack hätte eine 4 bekommen, aber das Huhn war nicht mein Geschmack.

Es schmeckt und die Location ist für eine Gruppenfeier gut geeignet. Es schmeckt und selbst ein spontaner Besuch lohnt sich.

Kein Leitungswasser trotz großzügiger Bestellung von Speisen und anderen Getränken. Ente sehr fettig, Rückmeldung wurde belächelt ohne weitere Reaktion. Meinen beiden Freunden war leider ziemlich schlecht nach ihrem Phad Thai.

Komme immer wieder gerne! Bin jedes Mal voller Vorfreude und werde von diesem Restaurant nicht enttäuscht!

Vergessen ab und an mal sachen aber sonst klasse schuppen super lecker

Auch Abholung möglich. Wir bestellen hier regelmäßig. Am Wochenende kann die Wartezeit stark variieren. Essen ist immer super und Gastgeber freundlich.

Wir waren hier mit einer größeren Gruppe essen. Das Essen ist mittelmäßig. Es fehlt an Würze und vieles ist verkocht. Dafür sind die Preise ok. Der Service übertrifft allerdings jede Vorstellungskraft. Er ist Comedy-reif. Mal abgesehen davon, dass die Gänge zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten gebracht wurden und einige noch warteten, während die anderen schon aßen. Eine Vorspeise wurde schlicht vergessen. An eines der Hauptgerichte "erinnerte" man sich erst auf Nachfrage. Getränke kamen nicht oder wurden vertauscht. Die Bedienung notierte nur Nummern, wenn sie die Gerichte aber brachte, wusste sie weder die Nummer noch den Namen des Gerichts. Jemand bestellte zusätzliche Soße (gegen Bezahlung). Die kam aber nicht, obwohl mindestens fünf Mal nachgefragt wurde. Die leeren Teller standen mehr als eine halbe Stunde auf dem Tisch und wurden erst nach einer sehr nachdrücklichen Aufforderung abgeräumt. Der Höhepunkt aber ereignete sich, als mein Hauptgericht (endlich) serviert wurde. Man stellte mir den Teller hin, und ich nahm meine Gabel und wollte gerade den ersten Bissen zum Mund führen, als mir die Chefin persönlich den Teller wegzog. Ich war völlig perplex und starrte sie an. Das wäre nicht mein Gericht, sondern das jemand anderen. Meines käme noch. Ich glaube, das ist mir noch nie passiert. Alles sehr lustig also. Weniger lustig waren aber die Getränke. Die Weinschorle kostet 6 Euro und wird in ungeeichten Gläsern serviert, bei denen es sehr zweifelhaft ist, ob diese tatsächlich 0,4 l enthalten. Ähnliches für die Weingläser (0,2 l). Apropos Wein: Es wird ein "Pfälzer Grauburgunder Kabinett" zu 6,50 Euro angeboten, bei dem es sich wahrscheinlich weder um Pfälzer noch Garuburgunder und schon gar nicht um Kabinett handelt. Es ist eine säuerliche undefinierbare Plörre, die im Einkauf kaum über 2 Euro/Liter gekostet haben mag. Wenn nicht Betrug, dann Unverschämtheit. Sich also lieber an das Bier halten. Bei der Rechnung geht es weiter. Die Bedienung ist der Grundrechenarten nicht mächtig. Die Chefin kassiert, vergisst aber leicht einen Posten oder addiert andere imaginäre hinzu. Also lieber selbst nachrechnen. Das Ganze natürlich mit Bleistift auf einem Notizblock. Schöne Grüße an das Finanzamt.

Wir haben heute Essen im Restaurant geholt. Für uns war positiv: sehr schneller Service das Essen war super verpackt Anmerkung: beim Essen habe ich den gewissen Kick gesucht. Bei Thai denke ich an Kokosmilch, aber auch an Schärfe von frischen Chillischoten.

Geruch wie im schäbigen Imbiss, Speisen mittelmäßig, teils kalt (!) bis ungenießbar. Wir essen so gerne und oft thailändisch. Hier nie wieder. Und mit 20+ Leuten ohne Lüftung oder geöffnete Fenster auf engem Raum ohne jegliche Überpfüfung der Kontaktdaten- ist nicht nur grob fahrlässig- sondern gibt einem auch wirklich keine entspannte Atmosphäre, was bei all den Spinnweben und der schmuddeligen Atmosphäre eh schwierig war. Definitiv ein absolutes Nogo.

Ich habe heute im Baan Thai gegessen und war sehr zufrieden. Freundliches Personal, leckeres Essen. Und das zu günstigen Preisen. Knuspriges Hähnchnenbrustfilet mit Kokosmilch und Thai Curry. Sehr gut! Ich kann es nur empfehlen.

Dank oder wegen Corona durften wir diesen tollen Thailänder kennenlernen. Obwohl to-go, war das Essen wirklich hervorragend! Alles frisch und authentisch. Kein Wunder, dass die Abholzeiten etwas länger sind. Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.

Sehr nettes Thai Lokal, das Personal ist auch Typisch gekleidet. Sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Aber bitte rufen sie vorher an, das Lokal ist immer am Wochenende besucht. Sie haben auch ein kleines Nebenzimmer, für alle Feste.. Das Essen wirklich Typisch für Thailand..Wir waren total begeistert, mit dem Essen. Liebevoll garniert und zartes Fleisch. Fisch ist auch sehr lecker.. Überzeugen sie sich bitte selber, aber wie erwähnt / Reservieren wäre sinnvoll.

we waited 45 minutes before anyone even asked if we wanted to order drinks. Incredibly slow, even serving other tables. Perhaps they don’t like English people. And then they don’t take visa so had to walk to a cash point. Very disappointing.

- sehr guter Service - auf Wunsch, da wir mir3 Kindern da waren, haben wir einen Tisch im separaten Raum bekommen. Es war sehr nett, dass die Chefin uns extra den Raum zur Verfügung gestellt hatte, obwohl im Hauptraum sehr viele Tische frei waren. So konnten wir entspannt essen und die Kinder auch spielen. - das Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Wir hatten Tintenfisch, Hühnchen Curry, Papayasalat, Laab und Frühlingsrollen. - Frühlingsrollen sind selbst gemacht. top! - das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und thailändisch. - Man fühlt sich sehr wohl und der Service, besonders die sympathische Chefin hat sich viel Zeit genommen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

In einer Seitenstraße an der Peripherie Heidelbergs gelegen versteckt sich ein wirklich guter Thai. Des Restaurant ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und bietet eine vielfältige Karte, die aber trotzdem nicht überfrachtet ist. Die Gerichte haben wirklich "Pfiff", nicht alle Thais kriegen die besondere Geschmacksnote so perfekt hin wie das Baan Thai. Wirklich empfehlen kann ich das zarte Hühnerfleisch in allen Variationen. Auch die Weinauswahl ist für ein asiatisches Restaurant sehr gut. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den stets freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Service. Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen!

Went there for dinner with my brother and husband. Right from the word go, our server was very rude. When other reviewers say the owner/server is uncourteous, they mean business. She took us to a small table and made us sit there. Two Indian men were dining next to our table. She actually told us, "Sit here, these people Indian too." We had the same feeling about better service to groups as other reviewers have commented. Our food arrived after a long time and with watery curries and uncooked rice, it was a complete disappointment. When I asked for some peanut sauce, the server rudely told me, "Not free, you pay and get some." Just her tone made me not want to interact with her again. We asked for water and she got us a glass full of tap water but she charged us for mineral water. Make sure she gets you a bottle of water if you are there. People sitting next to us said that they had had a bad experience last time themselves and were visiting after a year, only to decide never to return. That goes for us too.

I checked out the Baan Thai Restaurent twice now. And i have to say the food is very delicious! Its very authentic and the Service takes care of individual preferences as in spiciness or other ingredients. Hard to find, the Restaurant is not located in the Center of the City wich makes the use of a vehicle to get there inevitable. But its definitely worth your time and despite the ugly looks from outside you will find an OK looking and low-priced Thai Restaurant. Only 4 Stars because the location and the Building is not the most attractive! But it doesn't matter because the food is awesome!

I have gone to this restaurant for years before but the service there has drastically changed. After many weeks of being closed since the end of last year, I was happy to find this restaurant open again (because I have to say that the food was always very good) and I was in the mood for some take-out egg rolls and rice... While ordering, I sat down at a small table because the restaurant was full that night. I ordered and wasn't even offered a drink or some water and when another couple walked in, I was very rudely told to get up and wait somewhere else!!! (I felt like I was in some dictatorship or something)... I asked the manager/waiter that I would like to order some extra rice and he angrily reacted by saying: "Ja, dein Essen kommt schon!" (Yeah, your food is coming!) even though I didn't ask that! He spoke to me in the German "informal" way which is very disrespectful towards customers. When I was leaving, I asked if their Lunch Buffet was also on Saturdays and one of his assistant waiters told me that they immediately discontinued the buffet and that it will no longer be available. Basically, I felt very unwelcome as a customer and I felt that those large-order guests were of more importance although I had been part of larger groups there myself. Hence, I will never set foot in Baan Thai Heidelberg-Rohrbach, Germany again!

This is really my favourite place for Thai food, and all my colleagues I showed this place love it as well. It's not very big, nor is parking always easy, but the food is delicious. Try also the homemade chai-ice-tea with milk, its great especially in combination with a hot / spicy dish.

Having been regular visitors of this cozy little place in Rohrbach for a couple of years now, we firmly believed the restaurant was the only happy exception in this country as far as service is concerned (great food, friendly atmosphere, host always smiling)... until tonight. As we stepped in hoping to enjoy one of their nice cocktails we were in for a shock: the host PUT US OUT (with a smile!) saying it was getting late and they were about to close - despite the fact that it was five minutes after ten (the opening hour are said to be till 11 pm), there were still visitors at tables, and all we wanted was a couple of drinks and no hot kitchen. Well... just another bitter disappointment confirming the rule. So, Germans, here is our message to you: it's time you learned the meaning of the word SERVICE!!!
