Great food at a very good price. The ambience doesn't seem that inviting at first. Absolutely recommended!

Very tasty food that you pay for in advance. Food is brought. Ambience not that nice. The fact that the food is outstanding makes up for it.

I ordered shrimp pad thai and the portion was large, so I was really full and it was delicious. The price was 12.3 euros. The inside of the restaurant was quiet, so it was nice to eat quietly and comfortably by myself.

I've been going there to get my delicious pasta for over 20 years... unfortunately the portions are getting smaller and smaller... Today I got 2x No. 45 and these small (they used to be larger) plastic containers were both only half full... for 20 €… my jaw just dropped at home! So for €20 I expect two full cans!!! Hence the negative review...

A proper Thai kitchen, cooking with Thai ingredients, like it should be. Ordering happens in the unformal, busy but effective kitchen. In here you get the strong smell of fresh ingredients with multiple fridges to choose beverages from. You can get the both takeaway and food to stay. The seating room is relaxed and quiet only occupied by eating guests. The food is Thai-spiced but accessible for most. I'll definitely visit again if near Heidelberg

Came here on a whim and was greeted so kindly by the Thai family that owns it. Food was amazing and homey, affordable, and very filling. Cafe seating is very nice well lit and well decorated.

Unfortunately the Phad Thai is no longer good! I had always eaten Phad Thai here for years as it was one of the best in the area for the price. Check out the pictures from Phad Thai a year or two ago. Unfortunately now it's just a cheap imitation made with a red paste. I really enjoy eating Phad Thai and know how it should be authentic. Here it is probably made with a cheap red Phad Thai paste/sauce for cost reasons. No more recommendation!

Here is a review from Thai people!! My sister and I have been travelling in France, Switzerland and finally here, our last destination, Heidelberg before flying back home to Thailand in a couple of days. Yet, we had been dying for having good Thai food, and luckily, we found Chatuchak just close to our hotel. We really enjoyed the food here. Although the food was more adapted to the local country, it tasted really good, and the staff here were very friendly and kind. So we ended up having our dinner here for 3 days in a row in Heidelberg. hahaha Best Thai food in our entire Europe trip!!! Thank you so much.

The food is great, we like it very much! Yes, it's always busy here, you have to have time, but we're happy to wait.

We have been there several times and have always been satisfied. Nowadays it's just underground and the food tastes... At the same time, hygiene has plummeted. The employees cook with gloves and at the same time they dispose of boxes with the same gloves and then cook again, without words.

The vegetarian dishes are NOT vegetarian. There is oyster sauce in the sauce. We found out about this when we explicitly asked whether the dish could also be offered vegan. Then it was said that there was oyster sauce in all the sauces. After we pointed out to the staff that it wasn't vegetarian, we were simply told "I understand what you mean, but it is vegetarian."

We were so looking forward to our food. When we ate it we noticed that it tasted good but tasted bland. Service, well, no chopsticks that you can just take like before. Service staff speaks and understands German poorly. Ambience is a no go

First of all, I love this restaurant, I have been here so many times and love the food and the quality. Price-performance is always top. Well, the portions have been a disgrace for a few weeks now. It's tiny that even for me as a woman that's not enough to feel full. My favorite dish has more "decoration" (grated carrots and cabbage) than actual food... my friends, family and colleagues with whom I have been here very regularly will not be coming for the time being. Very disappointed unfortunately! Significant savings are now also made on the ingredients. I'm really sad about it and also annoyed... Unfortunately, over time it became less and less, so as a woman I can no longer get enough... it's a shame... but we're definitely not coming anymore

Thank God the food is better than the dishes. Two of the three plates were badly chipped. Absolutely top value for money, each dish was around €10. However, food came to the table at three different times for the three of us.

Each one reminds me of my vacation in Thailand! Super authentic restaurant with very tasty food. It's not a great place to sit, so I can't recommend it for a romantic date. But the food is super delicious. At lunchtime you may have to wait 30 minutes - but it's worth it

Best Thai food I’ve had so far in Heidelberg! A very spacious restaurant with quick service and pretty good food! I absolutely love the pad woon Sen here (wok fried glass noodles). I always get the option with prawns (Garnelen), and it comes loaded with veggies. For me it’s the perfect proportion of veggies to noodles (1:1), with broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, onions, carrots, and comes piping hot to the table, with a wonderful wok charred flavour. The portion is perfect for me, I would imagine it could be a bit small for those with big appetites. The som tam (papaya salad) is also good with a good amount of funk from the fish sauce, peanuts, and served with rice. Only obvious omission: there’s no cilantro! And no lime! Instead the dishes are served with lemon. The spring rolls are also delicious and crispy, served fresh and hot out of the fryer. But they’re a little on the expensive side (it only comes with 2). The pad Thai is pretty good, good for people who like a sweeter, less vegetable-laden dish. Again sadly there was no cilantro or lime, which for me are essential for Thai dishes. I personally prefer the pad woon sen. The green curry is a generous portion but nothing special—a pre-made paste is used and it can be easily replicated at home. Chili, soy sauce, hot sauce are available in the dining area for customising your dishes at the table. My husband and I enjoy this restaurant and have been at least three times this year, and have always enjoyed prompt and courteous service.

Food is ok, price is ok, but waiting times are underground. This is a Thai snack bar and you wait 45 minutes for your food. Apparently too successful.

The best Thai food in Heidelberg! You can always rely on Chatuchak. No matter what time of day, no matter what dish - it always tastes delicious and the dishes are prepared fresh and quickly. The price-performance ratio is more than reasonable as the portions are large and filling.

Tried the Pad Thai without egg and it offered a good experience with blended flavors and ample portion ensuring a satisfying meal.

Bester Thai in der Region Heidelberg. Mit ganz großem Abstand! Hier gibts alles andere als nur langweilige, eingedeutschte Asia Gerichte. Die Küche bleibt sich selbst treu und die Gerichte schmecken aufregend, frisch und einfach besonders. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert!

Viele der schlechten bzw. schlechteren Bewertungen sind hier absolut nicht verständlich und nicht nachvollziehbar. Wer in Heidelberg wirklich authentisches Thai-Food sucht, ist bei Chatuchak genau richtig. Und das zu einem hervorragenden Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wer natürlich weiße Stoffservietten, hochglanzpoliertes Besteck und einen Kellner oder eine Kellnerin im Anzug erwartet, die ggf. noch Weinempfehlungen ausspricht, ist hier falsch. Natürlich gibt es sowas in Heidelberg auch (bspw. das Bay Jok). Aber hier zahlt man locker fast das Doppelte für die gleiche wenn nicht schlechtere Qualität. Fazit: Wer wirklich sehr gutes Thai-Food mag und weniger Wert auf Ambiente legt ist bei Chatuchak genau richtig!

To Mr Sutat Wunch My Story, is a story which is 20 years old. I am sure you do not remember me or my family and friends, but I will remember you and your restaurant as long as i live. Back then, I was the wife of an American Soldier. We were from Mesa Arizona. We arrived in Heidelberg Germany in 1998. I remained living in Germany, even after after my husband of 16 years abandoned me, and my three teen age children for a "Lithuanian girl of only 19 years old". I had been a stay at home mother and a wife and could barely make ends meet in Germany but I loved Germany so much that remained there untill the year 2004. Why am I writing this story? Because The Cafe Billard was where i met new friends and began to make a life for myself again. Chatuchak Thai Kitchen was my favorite place to eat. I probably at there 3 to 4 days out of the week for a while. I dined there many times with my teenage children in those 7 years . I have so many good memories at The Billard Cafe. You also had the very best shrimp fried rice. I've tried to mimic the taste when I make fried rice. I believe it has fish sauce in it, and that's why it was so good. I loved your food so much that I always met my friends there for lunch or dinner. As a matter of fact thousands of soldiers and their families who lived in Germany have so many special memories at that Billard Cafe. It's ment so much to many. Just before I left to move back to the states in 2004 I went around the city and visited all of my favorite places. I took pictures of all the things I didnt want to forget. And people i was going to miss. I remember asking you, if I could possibly have permission to photograph you, as I loved your cafe and knew it would help me to remember Mandy's and the Thai Kitchen and billard. I took 3 pictures of you and I wonder if you remember a lady asking for your picture. I also have wondered if you have missed us American customers. I did a drawing of you and have kept it for all of these years. It isn't a very good drawing, but here it is. I see that some things have changed and that it looks a bit different, on the billard side, but it still brings back so many good memories. Thanks for the memories Sutat, Ronni/Rhonda

Essen war enttäuschend, werden hier sicher nichts mehr bestellen. War nichts gutes dabei, kein Gericht hat richtig geschmeckt.

Ein Imbiss. Die Suppe war ok aber etwas wenig gewürzt - vermutlich wird nicht lange vorbereitet. Die WanTang waren ziemlich geschmacklos. Service war freundlich.

War früher super. Heute für 6 Personen Essen geholt. Die Portionen waren winzig. Mein Favorit "Der Hammer" war nicht mal halb so viel Menge wie noch vor 8 Wochen. Geschmacklich noch top. Aber so leider nicht mehr wirtschaftlich und vor allem nicht sättigend. Schade.

Ich esse oft in Restaurants und war auch schon mehrmals hier. aber der Service ist unangenehm. Ich habe 2 Gerichte bestellt und etwas anderes als das bekommen, was ich bestellt hatte. Ich bestellte Ente mit Pasta. und ich bekam Ente mit Reis. durchschnittliche Qualität.

Unfassbar leckeres Thaicurry.Ich esse dort nichts anderes.Nur dass im Aussenbereich Rauchverbot gilt bleibt mir unverständlich.Ausserdem müssten aussen die Fensterrahmen gesäubert werden.Sind Hungerblocker.

Die Thai Komponente im Mandys komplex. Essen ist sehr würzig, zahrte Gaumen würden sagen salzig, aber für uns voll io. Die Bedienung freundlich aber, im Stress, etwas rau aber auch das geht klar für uns. Kommen auf jeden wieder!👍😎

We have eaten here dinner with four. Portions are really big, only one person managed to finish all of it. We had different noodles, red curry, and Tom kha kai. Though the strength was 1 pepper on all dishes, curry was much spicier and hotter. THe balance of tastes in tom kha was a bit too much in the sweet side, but you could proof the ingredients like galanagal and lemongrass and lime leaves really well. We could easily find a table, and food was served fast. Very friendly service, helpful employees explain how it works.

Nr. 37 Rotes Kokoscurry mit Huhn sehr lecker. Soße würzig Fleisch - Huhn aber auch Rind sehr zart. Tom Yam Suppe ebenfalls zu empfehlen. Preis Leistung ebenfalls. Alles sauber 👌🏽Wir kommen sicher wieder

Schnell mal was essen ok aber sonst nichts besonderes. Imbissfeeling und nicht zu viel erwarten vom Ambiente. Was das Essen angeht, so schmeckt es und man wird nicht enttäuscht.

Sehr gutes Thai-Food. Wir hatten Glasnudelsalat mit Hühnchen, Tom Ka Gai und grünes Curry. Alles richtig super.

War immer unser Lieblings-Thairestaurants in HD, sehr authentisch, geschmackvoll und gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Der Besitzer war auch immer sehr nett. Jetzt scheint ein Wechsel stattgefunden haben, einige offensichtliche Veränderungen wie neue Karte. Wir waren nicht mehr begeistert, Pad Kra Pao null scharf, wenig frisches und insgesamt nicht begeisternd, das andere Essen ebenso. Ich werde erneut eine Chance geben, und nochmal was anderes probieren, ich hoffe es war eine negative Ausnahme.

Heerlijk gegeten voor een hele mooie prijs. Even weten hoe het werkt; aan de ene zijde eerst een keuze maken en betalen, zelf van daar bestek meenemen en aan de andere zijde van het pad een tafel zoeken. Daar staan ook de glazen. Vergeet niet het nummer op je kassabon want na bepaalde tijd komt het heerlijke eten aan tafel.

Zum größten Teil leckeres und authentisches Essen. Nur beim den Currys kann man Pech haben und eine sehr fettige Portion haben. Ich esse hier alles andere sehr gerne!

Sehr lecker, essen wird immer direkt frisch gemacht, etwas Wartezeit ist zu beachten, da dass Restaurant immer gut besucht ist. Kann Reis mit Hühnchen empfehlen.

Ja havia ido autras vezes nesse restaurante. Porem ontem tive uma pessima experiencia. Entrei escolhi o prato e me foi solicitato o pagamento antecipado. Ai começaram os problemas. Não acetm nenhuma forma digital de pagamento. Apos comer requisitei o recibo e so nesse momento me foi informado nao ser possivel emitir recibo. A pessoal que me atendeu começao a falar que nao entendia ingles, entao usei o google tradutor de portugues apra alemao e ele me infomrou que nao entendi que tinah que ser em arabe... Um absurdo.

War mal einer meiner bevorzugten Schnellimbisse in Heidelberg. Inzwischen nicht mehr. Warum? Abartige Hektik. Die Mädels rennen und schreien rum wie bekloppt. Extrem unfreundlich. Scheuchen einen beim Bestellen quer durch das Lokal. Hat inzwischen den Charme von Blohm und Voss beim Schichtwechsel. Luca App akzeptieren sie nicht, man muss handschriftlich einen Zettel ausfüllen. Besteck ist unappetitlich fleckig. Servietten gab's auch keine mehr. Sehr Schade. War mal ein ganz guter Laden.

Einmal die Woche holen wir uns dort Thai-Essen nach Hause. Von der telefonischen Bestellung bis zum Abholen dauert es ca. 15-20 min. Alles ist super lecker und schmeckt "original" bis auf die Schärfe. Wir mögen besonders das grüne Curry (Gaeng Keow Wan) mit Huhn bzw. Rind, Pad Thai mit Shrimps, Pad Khi Mau mit Huhn (relativ scharf). Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert.

Wir waren das erste Mal hier und sind sooo happy, dass wir dieses Restaurant ausprobiert haben! Die Curries und Suppen sind der Wahnsinn. Wir freuen uns über die nächste Bestellung! Waren erst skeptisch bei unserem spontanen Besuch. Jedoch war das unsere beste Entscheidung hier essen zu gehen. Wir fanden, es schmeckte wie in Thailand.

Die Satésauce ist der Hammer, das gelbe Curry ist eine Wucht. Das grüne Curry war etwas zu wässrig, der Fisch war zu viel paniert aber die süß saure Sauce war wirklich gut. Alles sehr schnell und trotzdem kein fast Food Gefühl. Gut für Kinder.

Nettes Konzept: Schnellimbiss auf der einen Seite und Speiseraum, mehr ein grosses Wohnzimmer, auf der anderen. Die Speisen sind günstig, aber bis auf die Tom Kha Gai (echt gut) Suppe war das Essen mittelmässig bis schlecht. Die Saussen schmeckten teilweise nach billiger Paprikasausse süss/sauer oder waren Sojalastig. Gegen den schnellen Hunger OK, aber kein Thaigenuss. ImSpeiseraum gibt es auch eine Bar, in der Weine und Spirituosen ausgestellt waren, wie man diese bestellen kann, blieb aber ein Geheimnis.
