great VFM, authentic Thai service was quick i had the chicken sate and the yellow curry w. duck, recomnded! my friends tried the pahd thai and vegetarian masaman curry, and felt the same. i'll surely visit again when i'm back in town

Best Pad Thai in the region!! I love eating here. I also find the red and green curries delicious. If you're looking for good Thai food, you'll find it here. And all at absolutely fair prices.

I've ordered several times recently and I've really enjoyed it. I especially loved the fried noodles with vegetables. The duck is also very tasty, though it could be a bit crispier. The peanut sauce is by far the best I've ever had. The price/performance ratio is also excellent.

The Pad Thai is delicious and fairly priced. When it's busy, the dining area can get a bit noisy.

The people there were very nice. The food was quite tasty, but nothing earth-shattering. The dining area wasn't very nicely decorated, and there were a lot of flies flying around. Overall, it was okay, but I used to like it better.

The new owner is stingy. The old owner was good and the price and portion size was fair. The new owner is cutting back on the amount of expensive ingredients(Protein) and increase prices.

Here you can get good Thai food. The prices have risen quite a bit in the last few years, but are still reasonable. The staff is friendly and quick. The food portions and the selection are good. If you like spicy food, this is also a good pick. In the seating area there is also the option to play pool. All in all a great spot to eat with friends!

That day I went to eat Pad Thai. As a Thai person, the taste was too salty and sour. Also, there were few condiments. I wanted to add chili but didn't know where to find it. It was like stir-fried noodles with Pad Thai sauce and a little bean sprouts. That's all.

I ate at Chatuchak again today. The food was okay and tasted solid, but compared to previous times, the quality has declined somewhat for me. The portions have gotten smaller, while the prices have increased. I used to find the value for money much better. The service was friendly, but overall, I wasn't as impressed with this visit as I have been in the past.

I took food with me. It was very tasty, and the quantity and price were reasonable. Waiting in the store isn't great. You can only stand there, you're constantly in the way, and it's drafty. It's better to pre-order! What I didn't like was the fact that the sauce was packaged in a kind of freezer bag. It was a real mess getting it out of there in the hotel. Better in a cup!

Pad Thai to go: It was warm, there was a lot of it, it came quickly, and it was really greasy. Unfortunately, it tasted of nothing except the fat and the occasional lemon. Unfortunately, it didn't have much to do with the dish I ordered.

Firmly established over the decades. In the past, you could meet GIs here, then youth groups, billiard tournaments, etc. If you're hungry and don't feel like MCs of all kinds, you'll always find something here. I've always been satisfied.

I've had the papaya salad (Som Tam Thai) a few times, but this week it only tasted like carrots and the rice wasn't cooked. What a shame!

The Thai curry and Pad Thai are world-class. A definite recommendation.

As a former backpacker, I have to say that the food here is some of the best Thai cuisine in Heidelberg. The prices are absolutely reasonable: my visitor from another city was even more pleased with the reasonable prices and the quality. I'd happily go back again. ☺️

Update 07/2025: Some prices have increased considerably! Fried rice used to cost €2.50, now it's €6.50!!! Portions are still small. If you order something with chicken, you'll search for a long time until you find a small piece. If you have four small pieces, then it's a large portion. You can order an extra portion of chicken for three euros or so, but I don't know how many pieces that will be... Update 10/2022: Portions remain smaller, and now the quality has declined even further... Update 07/2022: Portions have become even smaller, and prices have increased considerably! The quality is still top-notch, but I don't think that's really appropriate... hence the 2-star deduction! Update 07/2021: Portions are somehow getting smaller and smaller... hence the 1-star deduction! This was our first time here and we're so happy we tried this restaurant! The curries and soups are amazing. We look forward to your next order! The food stays super hot in your bags, simply fantastic! Quiet authentic Thai restaurant like you would see it in Thailand as well. Great food selection, Pad kra Pao moo (pork) , chicken cashew and pad Thai where excellent. Spring rolls and chicken satay are ok.

We were there for dinner around 5 p.m. The dishes were dirty, and we had to have a glass rinsed. The food arrived after four minutes, but it was only very warm and felt like it had been cooked the morning before. The taste was as bland as toast. A total disappointment.

Best food at a really good price!

Delicious, authentic Thai food. The curries were well-seasoned with adjustable spice levels. The wontons were crispy. The service was attentive, and the food was prepared quickly. We'll be back.

Great Kao Phad. decent duck meat

We've been there several times now and have always been very satisfied! The food is truly delicious. The service is good, the staff is friendly, and everything is uncomplicated. The windows are sliding, so you're almost sitting outside. We like it. Anyone who finds the portion of rice, meat, etc. a little too small can order additional items from the menu. Even then, the value for money is good. Definitely a recommendation 👍

I ordered a dish with duck several times, and each time the meat was so hard, unchewable and dried out that it almost pulled the seals out of my dental fillings. Every time I ordered a new one I pointed out not to heat the meat for so long, but the chef wasn't interested. This means they have one less long-standing, loyal customer. I found another supplier who can get the duck meat still in a soft state. The negative reviews here on Google Maps are becoming more and more point they also don't offer an email address! Today, against my better judgment, I ordered a meal, it was so bad that it wasn't close to going into the bin uneaten. The chef should definitely take up another profession

Regular guest. Food is usually very good. Service is usually slow, also because you have to look for customers for a long time. Display signs like those at MacD would make sense. Room with old unused bar and old pool tables. Either repair and use it or discard it and bring in more spaces and decorations.

Tried two dishes, not bad but too greasy. Above all, we had to wait around an hour for our food. The restaurant wasn't full. Maybe they had a lot of Uber orders so our order was delayed? Waited an hour for two fast food meals. Wait literally in 10 minutes. Allow enough time before coming here. Hopefully you don't experience the same thing.

In total, I paid 50 euros for a lot of white rice and a lot of fatty Phad Thai without any significant ingredients. Only the cucumber salad was, as expected, overpriced at almost 10 euros. The food we ordered was already ice cold when we picked it up, the duck dish had 8 dried-out pieces of duck, specially packaged, dry, cold and inedible That was our last order there!

I'm giving 1 star only because giving less isn't an option. The food was terrible. I specifically requested my dish to be not spicy, but it arrived so overwhelmingly spicy that it was nearly inedible. On top of that, the vegetables and tofu were practically non-existent—I could count maybe two pieces in the entire dish. Very disappointing experience!

Cozy place nearby our hotel. Offer authentic Thai food. Went there 3 nights in a row, different variety of fried rice is our favourite. Beef fried rice noodles was also yummy 😋. When u miss Asian food, can visit this restaurant

I've been eating there for years and have always been happy. However, recently I've found that the food just doesn't taste the same as I usually do. Possibly a new cook, but had a very bad papaya salad for the second time. The remaining dishes were also rather bland and greasy. I hope this is only temporary and you will soon be able to get back to the usual quality.

I've been a customer here for a long time and have been very satisfied. Unfortunately, for some time now I have noticed more and more how sparingly the dishes are used. The prices have already increased and have been adjusted over time, but then the dishes are extremely small. That has no relation to the price here. As a quick info: my companion had a dish with shrimp - there were 4 shrimp in total. I'm not being petty, but that's not possible. Something has to change. Small portions for big prices - a nogo.

I immediately fell in love with this restaurant, which I visited twice during my recent short stay in Heidelberg. You actually order in the “kitchen”. Customers and waiters mill around in a very “street food” atmosphere! The prices are more than reasonable considering the quality of the dishes. The best Thai green curry of my life! I will come back on my next visit to the city.”

2024/11 Order in the kitchen/service. Everything went very quickly and card payment was no problem. Food was also prepared quickly. Personally, I found the portion of duck to be just enough; in other restaurants the portions are larger, but it was okay - everything was delicious. The low rating comes from the guest room. This was not heated. Other guests, like me, sat at their seats with the jacket on. That wasn't comfortable. Many people ate quickly and left.

Simply great food, comforting warm dishes and amazing currys for an in my opinion very fair price! We order 2 currys, an extra portion of rice and had two drinks for €30, so a very good deal! The part where you eat is nice and calm and is great for people who just want a quick conforting meal! Theres plenty of dish options and you can change the meats to your liking or go veggie! We went on a weekday and the line wasnt crazy long and the services was super speedy!

A proper Thai kitchen, cooking with Thai ingredients, like it should be. Ordering happens in the unformal, but effective kitchen. In here you get the vibe of a busy kitchen, strong smell of fresh ingredients a small market of Thai ingredients, and multiple fridges with a wide selection of cold beverages. You can get both takeaway and food to stay. The seating room is relaxed and quiet only occupied by eating guests. The food is Thai-spiced but accessible for most. It taste like home cooked Thai food, not cutting corners on the fresh ingredients. I'll definitely visit again if near Heidelberg

Food is great, very fresh and tasty but unfortunately there is far too little chicken in the fried rice, I only had 3 pieces in my meal unfortunately not the first time but otherwise great!

Very tasty food. BUT: if you want to sit in it, it is freezing cold. We were freezing and sat at the table in jackets. After a friendly request, the heating was not turned on. Ambience in general not comfortable either. Delicious, yes, but sitting nicely is different.

Nice but not great food. The duck seemed like it was deep fried and was well overcooked. The chicken dishes were tasty and well cooked. The flavours were not as fresh or pronounced as other Thai restaurants that I have visited, but still pretty good. The service was good and friendly, though the way in which you sit in one place and order from another is quite different to the norm. The atmosphere is good and family friendly, quite a surprise to have pool tables in use in the dining room. Overall we struggled to find local food restaurants, so this place was a good alternative and fallback.

I ordered shrimp pad thai and the portion was large, so I was really full and it was delicious. The price was 12.3 euros. The inside of the restaurant was quiet, so it was nice to eat quietly and comfortably by myself.

I've been going there to get my delicious pasta for over 20 years... unfortunately the portions are getting smaller and smaller... Today I got 2x No. 45 and these small (they used to be larger) plastic containers were both only half full... for 20 €… my jaw just dropped at home! So for €20 I expect two full cans!!! Hence the negative review...

I went here for dinner with friends for the first time. The ambience is simple, but the food is even more delicious and plentiful. We will definitely come again… Best regards Michael

Came here on a whim and was greeted so kindly by the Thai family that owns it. Food was amazing and homey, affordable, and very filling. Cafe seating is very nice well lit and well decorated.

Unfortunately the Phad Thai is no longer good! I had always eaten Phad Thai here for years as it was one of the best in the area for the price. Check out the pictures from Phad Thai a year or two ago. Unfortunately now it's just a cheap imitation made with a red paste. I really enjoy eating Phad Thai and know how it should be authentic. Here it is probably made with a cheap red Phad Thai paste/sauce for cost reasons. No more recommendation!

My sister and I have been travelling in France, Switzerland and finally here, our last destination, Heidelberg before flying back home to Thailand in a couple of days. Yet, we had been dying for having good Thai food, and luckily, we found Chatuchak just close to our hotel. We really enjoyed the food here. Although the food was more adapted to the local country, it tasted really good, and the staff here were very friendly and kind. So we ended up having our dinner here for 3 days in a row in Heidelberg. hahaha Best Thai food in our entire Europe trip!!! Thank you so much.

The food is great, we like it very much! Yes, it's always busy here, you have to have time, but we're happy to wait.

We have been there several times and have always been satisfied. Nowadays it's just underground and the food tastes... At the same time, hygiene has plummeted. The employees cook with gloves and at the same time they dispose of boxes with the same gloves and then cook again, without words.

Food was very good even though we live outside the city Delivery was still better than places that are even closer.

The vegetarian dishes are NOT vegetarian. There is oyster sauce in the sauce. We found out about this when we explicitly asked whether the dish could also be offered vegan. Then it was said that there was oyster sauce in all the sauces. After we pointed out to the staff that it wasn't vegetarian, we were simply told "I understand what you mean, but it is vegetarian."
