It couldn't be better. Consistent quality for years. I even know the infrastructure behind the scenes – everything is just right. Ultra clean and meticulous. Very friendly and incredibly delicious!

Nice beer garden with a small playground for the kids. We occasionally go there for a beer or two and a bite to eat.

Very flexible. If the sun is shining, the beer garden will be open before opening. Nice atmosphere to switch off and escape from everyday life.

At the time of Oktoberfest I would have expected Oktoberfest beer, the employees in the self-service area were not particularly motivated, the food was ok.

Ended up here today by chance. Since the weather wasn't great, we went inside. The furnishings are rustic, a beautiful tiled stove enhances the look. We were lucky and there was still a table for two available. The service, possibly the owner/tenant, was very accommodating. My rump steak with fresh porcini mushrooms came medium rare as requested and tasted very good. My wife was served the wrong food. The waitress was visibly uncomfortable, also because I had already had my food and my wife had to wait for her real food. To tide her over, she got a salad on the house. At the end of the meal, due to the inconvenience, we each got an espresso on the house. That was really nice, also because we didn't ask for it. Mistakes happen. As it sounds in, it sounds out again... The food portions were appropriate for the price quoted. In summer it's certainly nice to sit outside under all the trees, and we'll be back there. Overall, definitely recommended as a beer garden.

Very expensive food, and I was scammed out of €2 - the card said €29, I had to pay €31, even when I asked that the card said €29 But the vegan schnitzel tasted impressively authentic (I hope it was actually vegan :p)

I can only give it the full 5 stars. Cozy inside and outside. Part of the beer garden is fenced in as it is in the area with table service, the larger part is self-service. The service is good and the staff is very friendly. Price performance is top. If we're ever in the area again, we'd love to come by again.

The playground is a bit old, but for the children who were there it was of secondary importance. It's self-service and the prices are a bit high, but within reason. On Tuesdays there are only meals in the beer garden, the restaurant is closed. We just had a drink, enjoyed the weather and let our daughter play on the playground. Everything was good for that.

So first of all you have to differentiate between the self-service area and the service area. The ambience is nice at both and you can sit outside under the chestnut trees in this beer garden. The prices, whether for food or drinks, are quite high for what you get. Although I think the quality of the food in the service area is better. And the portions are decent too. In the self-service area they are surprisingly clear and very convenient. The ratio is also wrong, e.g. three balls of Obatzter and only one mini pretzel. In the serving area, the portions are plentiful - and now comes the big but - if you can't manage it, you can't have it packed or don't get anything to pack it yourself. So if you don't happen to have your own Tupperware with you, it will be thrown away! I think it's absolute rubbish and not up to date! Staff can be super friendly, but also very grumpy, it all depends... Conclusion: nice to sit and enjoy a beer or something else on a nice day. It's OK for an (expensive) snack, but I'd rather eat somewhere else where I can take something home with me if it's too much.

You can spend a nice afternoon here with good beer and good food - but the fact that you can only pay with a card to a limited extent and that the topic of card payments is generally treated quite grumpily shows that you probably don't want to arrive in the 21st century here yet. The pricing of smaller snacks - ~8 euros for meat loaf or sausage with a roll, for example - is also questionable.

I was there yesterday with my work colleagues; it was a nice, big beer garden. First we were in the self-service area, then in the service area. We then ordered drinks from a waiter at the table and an older gentleman brought them to us, pointing out and being visibly annoyed that there weren't actually any small glasses in the area because it wouldn't be worth walking so many meters for ( I worked as a waiter for years and know what it's like), but we were still grateful and everything was fine so far. However, the young waiter didn't know that you can't order small glasses in that area. It would be great if they could come to an agreement or let them know directly, then that wouldn't have been a problem in itself. Then I ordered a turkey schnitzel with fried potatoes and specifically asked if it would be available without bacon, they said yes and then I got old boiled potatoes where the skin had already formed and then charging such prices for them is really not possible, something like that would happen never offer it to anyone, it looked like hospital food, really unloving! Our glasses were empty, no one came to the table, nothing, over half an hour, so I had no idea about service. It's a shame, it was the first and last time there!

Food prepared and warmed up, carelessly arranged on the plates, like in a canteen. Kaiserschmarren was served within 5 minutes, which says a lot about that. Prepared, cooled, quickly warmed up again and then for 26 euros, because only 2 portions are possible, for whatever reason with this process. Service is great, value for money is not right here, it's a shame because the ambience is unique. But it's all about the overall package when visiting a restaurant.

Prices are quite expensive for Darmstadt. Cooked cheese 10€ really surprised me. Beer prices have also risen quite a bit. In my opinion, the pricing policy, especially for self-service, needs to be reconsidered. The atmosphere on site is quite nice.

I had fond memories of the beer garden and went to dinner with my daughter. I ordered bread dumplings with chanterelles in a homemade sauce, my daughter ordered cheese spaetzle. My bread dumplings were firm, hard and lukewarm, the sauce already had a dried skin, as if the plate had stood for a long time and tasted like a ready-made sauce with flavor enhancers. The chanterelles were good and plentiful. In my opinion, my daughter's spaetzle was bagged spaetzle with a light, tasteless cheese. To finish off the meal, I ordered a strawberry mascarpone dessert. The strawberry sauce barely covered the bottom of the glass, the cream was pure mascarpone with no taste. With a tip I paid €85. My daughter and I were very dissatisfied with the food and will no longer visit the beer garden.

Food rather bad... Ordered pretzel with Obazda dry and Obazda without caraway and got it with caraway. Schnitzel was a cheap-looking piece of pressed meat and 10.00 euros for a few potatoes with quarl is also unjustified. The roast pork was really edible.. Waiting time with the beer garden about half full was about 45 minutes. Nice atmosphere, drinks nice and cold.

We spontaneously went to the restaurant for dinner in the evening on a weekday. The service was quick and friendly, and special requests were happily fulfilled. The food came quickly and was very tasty. There are enough parking spaces right next to the restaurant.

Nice and shady beer garden. Eating in the self-service area (potato salad tastes like it comes out of a bucket, salad with a dressing that is like water) is unfortunately absolutely not recommended. Staff has no idea about ingredients. What a pity...

The service was very modest. In order to get a drink or food, you had to stand in s waiting queue and pay for your order. After this you had to stand in a second queue to finally get the drinks and food you have payed for in the first queue. They are not accepting visa cards, so be warned to bring enough cash or to have s card they accept for payments above 20 euros, i think they accept ic cards. The food we tasted sausages was also very modest.

A visit to the beer garden is like a little vacation. You sit under chestnuts and enjoy food and drinks. The largest part of the beer garden is the self-service part. Food and drinks can be picked up at the counter. You are expected to put your glasses and plates away yourself - unfortunately this is often forgotten. You will mostly find shady places, but you can also sit in the sun. Part of the beer garden is fenced in and service is served there. This part is a little more expensive. I was in the part where there was service on a Saturday. There are big umbrellas there. That was my luck because it started to rain and I was still dry. There are no umbrellas in the self-service section. There is a parking lot behind the house and a huge space in front of the beer garden to lock up bicycles. I wasn't in the toilet on Saturday, but I think I remember that it is barrier-free, as is the entire beer garden. I ate a huge knuckle with side dishes and found it a bit irritating that the rest couldn't be packed as I couldn't eat it all. So I recommend visitors bring a container.

A rustic beer garden with plenty of space and many shady spots. The selection of drinks and food fits the Bavarian motto. There is something for small and large appetites, including a small selection for vegans. Cooked cheese and Obatzda with pretzel were good, knuckles and steak OK. Service wasn't rude. Overall, you could achieve even more in this location.

We had made reservations for 6:30 p.m. in the beer garden. When we called, we asked whether we could go to the restaurant when it was raining and the answer was yes. When we got there the restaurant was closed and we were given a table under an umbrella. We can't go to the restaurant due to a lack of staff. It then started to rain very heavily and was totally uncomfortable. The information that morning was wrong. A pity!!!

Food is average. Salad was oversalted, but was then remade without any problems, schnitzel was tasty but of course not freshly made. Basically a little inflexible and there are no children's portions. Even the drinks are almost all only available in half liters. Service (self-service) was rather rough but at least very quick. I thought for a long time between 3 and 4 stars and in the end decided on 4 because the taste of the food was good and we had a really nice evening because of the ambience and the playground.

Potato salad probably came from the bucket, a puddle of liquid collected. I think €5.30 per portion is too expensive. High drink prices: €4.60/special... Next time I'd rather go to the beer garden on Dieburger Straße or in Herrngarten.

The beer garden is really nice. You sit under lots of big old trees, just like a beer garden should. The food is okay and let's just say typical in terms of selection. That means sausage, schnitzel and the like, some of them also available as vegetarian versions. What is no longer entirely up to date for me is that payment by card is only possible for 20 euros and only with an EC card.

Beer garden with playground, but please no children. We wanted to go there for lunch today and I still had a choice of seats without a reservation. The children can also go to the playground while you wait for the food. So far, great. Unfortunately there was no food. We were able to order the drinks after five minutes, but since the waiter couldn't take our food order, we had to wait for another waiter. And that was a long time coming, another 20 minutes in total. After several inquiries and then waving from the various waiters, a waiter (who had previously chatted with friends for a while) finally came to us. We were there with two children 4&7. Since there is no children's menu, we wanted to take a schnitzel - the only thing on the menu that our children would eat. But without fried potatoes, but with mashed potatoes. It was also on the menu and you can freely choose the side dish for the steaks. This is not possible - reordering is not possible. And at €22 for a turkey schnitzel! So there is no child-friendly food on the menu, if you want to adapt it to suit children, it is not possible and we had to wait almost 30 minutes to find out. We paid for the drinks and left.

The food was so-so, unfortunately the service wasn't very friendly. Unfortunately, apart from the ambience outside, there wasn't much that was positive.

I have rarely regretted ordering a knuckle. Here I regretted it. Because it wasn't described in more detail, it was a scalloped knuckle, but it was still the height of boredom. The tasteless bread dumplings and the bland sauce didn't help us to be happy about having overcome the long queue for self-collection. The only plus point: the trees planted are now the perfect size. The store is just too expensive for what you get.

I have come here again and again over the years only to find out once again that it is the worst beer garden in Darmstadt. It's also fitting that the animal enclosure is replaced by an "insect biotope" (in the middle of fields?!l). The ambience including a beautiful playground speak for this beer garden.

Deep-fried molded schnitzel with carelessly slapped-on potato salad for 14.50 euros and the large salad, half brown, also costs 13.50 euros. The steak was grilled to death and almost black on one side. So definitely not a recommendation for food.

Was in the self-service area with work colleagues in the evening. The beer garden itself is still pretty nice, but the quality is subpar. The prices are very high for what you ultimately have on your plate. A colleague had a schnitzel with potato salad. The schnitzel looked like it was from the day before and had been quickly warmed up again. My XL currywurst with roll for €7.50 was anything but XL. A measly sausage that I got rid of in no time. Added a dollop of sauce, although the dollop was enough for the little sausage. When it was handed out, the staff wasn't necessarily friendly but was visibly annoyed. My food was slapped onto a plate that wasn't washed properly and was still dirty. The man at the grill didn't care. At every snack stand you get more for your money and the service is friendlier.

I celebrated my walkout here in the restaurant...I left €700 there and had to listen to the boss complaining because towards the end I had a meat loaf roll from the self-service area in the restaurant area. The food itself and the ambience are good...but you also pay for that...

We've been going to this beer garden for years, the last three times just weren't nice, and that only refers to the staff in the serving area!!! Yesterday was my personal low point in terms of the quality of service. The greeting from the visibly stressed and overwhelmed staff was very cold and choppy, a smile was no longer possible at this point (7:30 p.m.) and the lady's hectic manner made you feel like you weren't particularly welcome, but who knows what maybe was just before? We were assigned a place (3 adults, 2 children) pretty much in the middle, with the message that someone would be coming soon. Unfortunately, that was the last communication with the staff (3 conditions were in use for minutes during this time) and the beer garden was well filled, but far from full! Eye contact and attempts to attract attention were skillfully ignored. In the 25 minutes that we waited for service, we also heard a number of complaints from neighboring tables, as well as several smoking breaks from the lady who had already welcomed us so coolly. In my opinion, service is different and given the prices I simply expect professional treatment of paying guests. We all had the impression that the staff didn't have their shop under control!!! Unfortunately, this was a visit for a long time, maybe that's a good thing for the staff so that they don't have to worry about so many guests. Unfortunately very disappointing experiences

Real juice shop... They sell you a cooked, cold beef sausage for €5.50 that is of worse quality than at the gas station and you wait over 20 minutes until it's ready, even though the beer garden was relatively empty. The service is also very unfriendly. We came to watch football and it definitely won't happen again.

On Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 around 1 p.m. I was eating with my 4 colleagues in the Bavarian beer garden in the fenced area and then doing a little work. The ambience is great, the food is expensive but still very tasty. What really bothered me, however, was the service. The slightly older gentleman with a beard was unfriendly and intrusive. He almost urged us to order food and said that a bus with tourists would be arriving soon, so we should order fairly early, otherwise it would take too long to eat. We did that involuntarily. An hour later, of course, there was no bus in sight... In general, his comments and his hasty, unsympathetic manner were quite annoying and ruined our stay. That's why we won't come here anymore. What a shame!

When assigning a seat, be sure to point out that you are a smoker. Otherwise very harsh approach that this is a non-smoking table. The condition then assigned us a table two meters away. Very useful outdoors. Food was good. Anyway, another beer garden next time.

We have always liked the Bavarian beer garden. It is managed properly and not only looks clean, it is clean too. The food is appropriate, the selection of drinks is also okay. You can argue about prices everywhere these days. I personally can recommend it and everyone should have been there.

Ordered vegan schnitzel with potato salad. But the potato salad was with bacon! Unfortunately I only noticed it at the table. When returning or exchanging items, the staff blamed each other for this. Very disappointing service.

Were here for the public viewing. Actually everything was great. Food okay, drinks served well organized, prices okay. Unfortunately, there were a lot of people smoking in the big festival tent. One long side of the marquee is open. Unfortunately, this is not sufficient ventilation. The air quality dropped extremely over time. If you went out to the toilet for a moment and then went back in, it hit you like a wall. Plus, you're always getting smoke directly from someone. According to the Non-Smoker Protection Act, there is a strict ban on smoking. There would have been enough folders and a sound system to enforce this. A pity. For us the evening ended with a cough and a headache. Unfortunately not recommended for non-smokers.
