Quaint little cozy pub, we didn't eat anything, but it's supposed to be good.

A wonderful, rustic pub like it used to be. Sensational pizza, large portions, and really friendly and attentive service. Highly recommended.

A quaint pub with a rustic decor that's been around for ages. Extensive menu; our meal (for 6 people) looked delicious. Mine was good. The clientele is young and old. A place to come again and again.

It was my first time here. Everyone was very nice, and the drinks and food came very quickly. The food was very tasty. I had a salad with chicken strips. There could have been more salad and fewer olives and other things; it really spoiled the taste.

Rumpeltilzchen – cozy pub with heart 🍻 Glorya – my 11 cm tall stuffed giraffe with big, round eyes and a penchant for good tips – insisted on the most important tip right from the start: Reservations are worth it! We were there on a Friday evening, and without a reservation, it would have been crowded. The Rumpeltilzchen is a pub in the best sense of the word: dark wood furnishings, rustic benches, and small booths instead of a large dining room. Very cozy, almost like a living room with a liquor license. The service was friendly, attentive, and cheerful despite the crowds. The portions range from decent to large – Glorya said: "As big as me!" – but no problem: you can get a box if you wish, and you can still enjoy a schnitzel or pizza the next day. The price-performance ratio here is absolutely perfect. A plus point: there's a bus stop right outside, and with a view of the Mathildenhöhe World Heritage Site, you're also in a great location. 👉 Verdict: A cozy pub with character, generous portions, and friendly service. The delivery was problem-free and really very quick. Unfortunately, the burger patties were inedible. The flesh was gray and very compact. It had an unpleasant smell and was really inedible. Unfortunately, the fries were also a bit soggy, but that was probably due to the time they spent in the packaging. Unfortunately we won't be eating here anymore!

Very quaint restaurant with very nice Indian owners. I like to eat schnitzel, pizza and Bolognese sauce. There is a calzone pizza filled with schnitzel, ham and Bolognese sauce. Baked with cheese. It was delicious and unusual!

Nach einem Sonntagsspaziergang wussten wir in Darmstadt nicht ao recht wohin - zumal es wieder nach 14 Uhr war und fast alles geschlossen hatte. Zum Glück fanden wir diese tolle Lokation. Ja, hat auf den ersten Blick den Anschein einer Bierkneipe aber wenn man erst mal sitzt, von der sehr netten Bedienung empfangen wurde und auf die Karte schaut ändert sich das sofort. Die Auswahl ist groß, von Pizza und Nudeln bis Schnitzel ist alles dabei. Normalerweise ist das eher ein Ausschlusskriterium - aber hier war wirklich alles frisch und lecker. Die Portionen sind sehr reichhaltig und schmackhaft. Frischer Beilagensalat mit lecker Schmandsoße :-). Der indisch-stämmige Wirt (seit über 40 Jahren schon hier) ist super lieb. Er ging sogar extra raus zum Parkautomat um zu schauen ob man Sonntags zahlen muss. Man fühlt sich sofort wie zu Hause. Unbedingt ausprobieren !!

We often go to Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt and today we happened to come across Rumpelstiltskin. I was very positively surprised. The service is very friendly and quick, the food is at usual prices with huge portions and very tasty. If you have a problem parking there, you can simply drive 100 m further into the parking garage. Way too big portions. With the schnitzel you get half the animal on your plate. The waitress was new and a bit busy. But otherwise very nice. (Portions are commensurate with the price)

Here you will find home-style cuisine. The portions are sometimes huge (schnitzel), the seasoning is rather reserved. The service was very friendly and we felt comfortable.

Good and incredibly courteous service. The food was good, but not outstanding. The dessert (vanilla ice cream sundae with cream and chocolate sauce) only tasted like cheap sweetener and was unfortunately very tasteless.

For me, Rumpelstiltskin has always been there. Since ~1977 I have been a frequent guest for a good 13 years. And now another visit to Darmstadt and this pub. The dark, cozy atmosphere, the decoration and old wooden tables, the very good and plentiful food, the very friendly service...despite several changes of operator, it still feels like "coming home".

Actually good, but that wasn't a schnitzel or a pizza. Schnitzel is not pounded, so it is thick breaded meat. Fries good. Good side salad. Service good. Pizza dough is not pizza but super super thin, vegetables on it are fresh but quite large pieces of zucchini and tomatoes.

Last night we had a lovely evening at Rumpelstiltskin with 4 people. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The service was friendly and quick. We'll be back.

Super cute restaurant with delicious food (in large portions ;)). Ate the schnitzel gratinated with cooked cheese and a mixture of Bolognese. Absolutely good. It comes with a large fresh salad and fries. If we still lived in Darmstadt, we would come back. Then again when the opportunity arises. :) Dog also welcome.

We had a very good experience. Incredibly good, courteous service and really, really good food. It's hard to decide which of the many delicacies you want now. The atmosphere is very cozy, even for more sociable gatherings.

I came across the shop yesterday by chance. The ambience is great and is rare to find. Ideal for a cozy evening for two. For starters we had tzatziki with pizza bread, which was very tasty. Since the main prices are very generous, I wouldn't order a starter a second time 😁. The main course was schnitzel twice, of different types. Both were top. With salad as a side dish. Everything fresh and super tasty. I will definitely stop by there more often to eat.

Had the supposingly spicy "Teufel Burger" there, which was delicious and pretty big, but not very hot. Fries were crisp and pretty good. Prices are reasonable. Cosy atmosphere.

You really can't rely on the reviews here. Certainly a nice shop, the young man I interacted with was very friendly. But the food? Absolutely underground. Actually, it's disgusting. I haven't eaten something so unappetizing in a long time. The burgers look promising and the buns look good. But the rest? Completely drowned in ketchup. The taste was really just depressing. Not even the fries saved it. And then the barman gave me the wrong price and I paid too much, which unfortunately I only noticed afterwards when I wanted to get the money back from my friends. No malice, definitely not that. It was simply messed up. But it makes it doubly frustrating to shell out so much money for such a disgrace of food.

Went there for the second time now, 3 adult portions plus a starter about 94 euros in 2024, not unusual...and delicious plus nice service and (in my opinion) great ambience...gladly again

The burgers were okay. The bread on the burger was delicious and something different. There was too much sauce on the burger for us. So that the bottom of the burger was very soft. This made the burgers harder to hold. The color of the meat was gray. Taste okay.

Rustic, tasty, good. Everything should be said with this. Everyone gets their money's worth here, from meat eaters to vegetarians. Speaking of costs, the price/performance ratio is also very good in my opinion. So worth recommending all around.

A very cozy restaurant/pub with a lot of rustic charm. The inviting, warm wooden character invites you to spend cozy evenings with good food and delicious beer. The dishes are classically creative and really tasty and will definitely fill you up. The prices are absolutely reasonable and not overpriced. The young team is very service-oriented and charmingly attentive without being intrusive. Here you forget about time and enjoy.

I can fully confirm the very good reviews. My Bolotarisch pizza came very quickly and was delicious. The service was quick and courteous. Only the music (an artist I didn't know who played foreign pieces in a dreary minor) didn't fit at all with the good food and ambience, but luckily it was quiet.

The wait staff (both boys) were very, very nice and helpful and interacted really well with us as guests. We had schnitzel, burgers, veal medallions... good, large portions and very tasty... the side salads were great for me that day , with a little cream sauce, no mixing helped. So there was hardly any taste, but I forgot to say it because of the sheer volume. Seen that way, it's an easy mention in the kitchen... Would definitely go there again.

The service was nice and the ambience is also nice, you sit in small compartments by yourself. The burgers were only okay, as the beef patty was quite salty. Normal fries and sweet potato fries tasted delicious, you get ketchup and mayonnaise delivered straight to them.

We are thrilled with the location. Super friendly staff and very good food! We come from the Wetzlar area and whenever we are in Darmstadt, a visit there is a must for us and a pleasant one at that ;-)

This restaurant/bar is so cute. You come in, there are also jacket hangers. Of course with no liability. The staff there is very nice and friendly. I love it here, even though I've only been there once. It's small but mighty!! There are many beautiful seating options made from real wood. The acoustics are nice. Rock, reggae is playing. Just a nice mix. I was here with my family. One of those cool people had a birthday. We rocked it and celebrated. It was a lovely evening that we were able to celebrate here. Gladly again, even without a birthday. It's not a smoking bar, which I think is a good thing. But there is an ashtray trash can in front of the front door :) Whether it's just a beer at the bar or a nice romantic date - both are possible here. Nice to eat here!! Keep it up! Greetings, J😉

Sehr nettes Personal, gemütliche Atmosphäre und sehr gutes Essen (das Schnitzel war das beste und gleichzeitig größte, was ich seit Jahren hatte). Das Lokal ist aber sehr beliebt, daher unbedingt reservieren!

0,25l für 3 €. Service sehr unfreundlich fühlt sich an als ob über einen gelästert wird.

Zufällig sind wir an dieser tollen Location vorbeispaziert und weil es von außen so muckelig aussah, sind wir spontan dort zum Essen gegangen. Was soll ich sagen, es war super lecker. Der Salat war riesig, die Soße der Oberknaller und Extrawünsche waren überhaupt kein Problem. Das Schnitzel am Schnitzeltag war ebenso grandios. Der Service war aufmerksam und kommunikativ. Eine absolute Weiterempfehlung von einer nicht ganz unkomplizierten Mainzerin.
