Eines der besten afghanischen Desserts, die ich je gegessen habe! Es heißt Sheer Yakh und ist reichhaltig, cremig und unglaublich erfrischend. Der Geschmack ist fantastisch, und man schmeckt die hohe Qualität. Wenn Sie authentische afghanische Desserts probieren möchten, müssen Sie unbedingt hierherkommen und Sheer Yakh kosten. Ich kann es wärmstens empfehlen!

Ich habe das Essen hier sehr genossen. Ich hatte Mantu, die köstlich waren und in einer sehr großzügigen Portion serviert wurden. Alles war gut gewürzt und sehr schmackhaft. Das Restaurant hat eine einladende Atmosphäre und ist eindeutig kinderfreundlich. Die Preise sind für die Qualität und die großzügigen Portionen absolut angemessen. Ich kann dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen, wenn Sie in Darmstadt sind. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Ich bin heute extra etwa 15 Minuten hingefahren, weil ich mich auf afghanische Bolani gefreut habe. Mein Mann hat vier Stück gekauft und wir haben sie zum Mitnehmen bestellt. Als wir zu Hause essen wollten, waren wir sehr enttäuscht. Das Gemüse im Bolani war kaum gekocht und der Teig war alt, sehr fettig und voller Öl. Das Essen war praktisch ungenießbar, sodass wir alles wegwerfen mussten. Für vier kleine Bolani haben wir 15 € bezahlt. Die Portion war sehr klein und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt meiner Meinung nach überhaupt nicht. Leider war das nicht das erste Mal. Bei einem früheren Besuch hatte ich afghanische Karahi bestellt. Auch dieses Gericht bestand fast nur aus Öl und wir mussten einen großen Teil wegwerfen. Es ist wirklich schade, wenn man sich auf gutes afghanisches Essen freut und dann so enttäuscht wird. Aufgrund meiner Erfahrungen kann ich dieses Restaurant leider nicht weiterempfehlen.

Köstlicher Pilaw, exzellenter englischsprachiger Service und ein wunderschönes Klavier empfingen mich hier! Nette Leute und eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, und es gibt auch Tische draußen unter einem Vordach!

Wir haben das Essen sehr genossen. Ich kann das Chicken Karahi wärmstens empfehlen. Es ist köstlich und zart. Meiner Meinung nach ist es das beste in Darmstadt und Frankfurt. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Sie hat uns bei der Bestellung ehrlich und hilfreich beraten. Die Inneneinrichtung ist wunderschön. Es ist ein gemütlicher und komfortabler Ort zum Verweilen und Genießen.

Heute waren wir mit unserer Familie im Watan Restaurant und leider waren wir sehr enttäuscht. Wir mussten über eine Stunde auf unser Essen warten. Als das Essen endlich kam, waren die Chapli Kebabs sehr scharf und teilweise verbrannt. Mein Mann hatte Lamm Karahi bestellt, aber es waren mehr Knochen als Fleisch im Gericht. Besonders ärgerlich war, dass die Rechnung am Ende nicht stimmte und uns 10 € zu viel berechnet wurden. Wir werden dieses Restaurant auf keinen Fall noch einmal besuchen und können es leider auch nicht weiterempfehlen.

Ihr war bisher sehr überzeugt von dem Essen sowie von dem Service. Ich hoffe, dass es eine einmalige Erfahrung war, aber die Qualität der Speisen, die Portionsgröße und der Service haben sich sehr verschlechtert.

Das bestellte Essen wurde erst in die falsche Ortschaft geliefert, weshalb es verspätet ankam und dann auch noch unvollständig. Bei dem Versuch das fehlende Gericht telefonisch nachzufordern, wurde ich darauf hingewiesen, dass es der Koch gemacht und es geliefert wurde. Somit hätte ich es erhalten! Da dem nicht so ist, haben wir jetzt weder das Essen, noch das bezahlte Geld. Ich werde nicht mehr dort bestellen!

Unglaublich lecker gewürzte Speisen super preisgünstig, schöne Terrasse und Kinderspielplatz 🥰 was will man mehr :)

The service was very friendly and the food arrived relatively quickly. Their traditional rice with raisins is simply amazing. The mantu portion was a bit small, so I had to order extra rice. The value for money is excellent – ​​large portions for around €10. Highly recommended! 👍

I've been here several times and always order the Afghan rice with lamb and the leek-filled pastries. They're incredibly delicious and filling, unbeatable for the prices, and the perfect spot to eat with friends and family! I'll definitely be back! Especially the €5 doner kebab special offer – it's a real steal!

One of the best Halal restaurants in Darmstadt, everything was perfect. They handled well the big number of guests we had around 40 people 😊😊, some minor delays for some orders but all in all was a nice experience. It is a must try in Darmstadt, we will come back for sure.

It was our first time there, and we were very pleasantly surprised – we'll definitely be back. We chose from the Afghan and Indian menus. The portions were generously sized, so much so that neither of us finished our meals. They were served with a wide variety of side dishes, including dips, salad, and bread. Both the dips and the dishes themselves offered a diverse range of flavors and were perfectly seasoned. The service was attentive throughout. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and variety of the food. Overall, a truly fantastic restaurant with a great selection, excellent prices, and superb service.

Food was very tasty. Organization was poor, understaffed, and staff overwhelmed. It felt like it took half an hour for the buffet to be restocked; especially on days like these, everything needs to be more organized.

The Iftar buffet is unfortunately not recommended at all. For €25 per person (excluding drinks), the quality is extremely disappointing. None of the food seemed fresh. The mixed-meat kebabs and chicken tasted strongly of frozen food, as did the very small samosas. The salad also didn't seem fresh. Overall, all the food was cold, and it was particularly noticeable with the meat products that they came straight from the freezer section—probably from an Asian grocery store. For the price, I would have expected significantly more freshness and quality. Unfortunately, the entire buffet was a huge disappointment.

Ordered the chapali kebab and chicken pulao and the whole meal was 10/10. Think i have found a new fav restaurant

This was our last order from this restaurant. Each time, a delivery time of approximately 40 minutes is quoted, but in reality, the delivery takes over two hours. Furthermore, with delivery orders, no invoice is provided; only the total amount is stated. On a previous occasion, when ordering in person, the price on the menu was lower than the amount we had to pay (a difference of €5–10). Only after repeatedly asking did we receive a belated invoice. It is incomprehensible why the menu prices do not match the total amount due. Based on this experience, we will not be ordering from here again.

Unfortunately, disappointing. I was very dissatisfied with the service at Watan Restaurant. The staff seemed unfriendly and inattentive. I didn't feel welcome, and requests or questions were barely addressed. It's a shame, because the ambiance is actually lovely, but the service significantly marred the overall experience. Never again! The visit to Watan Restaurant was a complete disappointment. The staff was extremely rude, stressed, and made absolutely no effort. We were completely ignored, questions were answered curtly, and there was no trace of hospitality. I have rarely experienced such poor service. You are ignored, treated rudely, and made to feel like you're just a nuisance. No smiles, no hospitality, no courtesy – nothing at all. The entire experience was unpleasant and disappointing. Never again! This restaurant should seriously consider whether it even wants any more customers.

Excellent food, generous portion sizes, we couldn’t finish it all… Economical compare to many restaurants we tried in many European countries as a tourist from North America. Only issue is most people don’t speak English so it’s a bit hard to communicate if you don’t speak German.

Delicious and flavour food, the biryani was hot and amazing! 🌶️ The vege sambosa needs improvement, and the mango juice was salty so we returned it. Loved the refreshing cardamom ice cream! Staff were super helpful, but the restaurant was extremely hot inside. With hot dishes being served, the high temperature made it uncomfortable to enjoy the meal. A cooler environment would make the experience much better.

I visited the Watan restaurant in Darmstadt and I can honestly say: I've rarely had such good Afghan food. As soon as you walk in, you notice the attention to detail. The decor is simple yet stylish – with traditional rugs and subtle ornamentation, without seeming kitschy. The food was the absolute highlight for me. I was particularly impressed by the Qabuli Palau: tender, perfectly cooked lamb that practically fell off the bone, combined with aromatic rice, raisins, and roasted carrots. The flavor is slightly sweet yet spicy – exactly what you'd want. The Mantu, steamed dumplings with a meat filling, were also incredibly good. The dough was thin and soft, the filling moist and richly seasoned, and the yogurt sauce rounded it all off perfectly. The kebabs were also excellent – perfectly grilled, well-seasoned, slightly crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. What I particularly liked were the little details that are taken care of here: fresh ingredients, homemade sauces, a crusty bread basket that's always served fresh. The salad wasn't just a sloppy side salad, but crisp and freshly dressed. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. You can tell that it's important to the people here that their guests feel comfortable. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant – perfect for enjoying good food in peace. All in all, my visit to the Vatan restaurant was a complete success. If you like Afghan cuisine or just want to try something new, this is the place for you. I definitely recommend it!

The three of us waited 40 minutes for our food. When the rice arrived, the expensive mahiche palaw, there was a hair in the rice. When I called the waiter and told him, he said, "What should I do now, brother?" And there was silence, without any insight or remorse. He probably expected me to eat the food. Then, after five minutes, a waiter came and offered me the same dish. I declined because I'd lost my appetite. The first waiter said it was probably a waiter's dish, even though you can see from the photo that it was already cooked.

Super neat and clean restaurant. Pleasant service, very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the Afghan 2-person dish kabul pilav, a rice with warm herbs (not spicy), carrot and raisins with 2 delicious lamb legs where the meat comes off the bone so perfectly hidden in it. This was served with some small side dishes such as salad, beans and green tasty spicy and spicy sauce. As a drink we had the delicious Afghan green tea. We loved it and enjoyed it enormously! Everything really great! The portion is really perfect and more than enough. We will definitely come back if we drive past here again. The prices were very acceptable for what you get. Thanks again!

The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is when it comes to eating, it depends on what you order. The meat dishes are extremely top class in every respect. The meat is buttery tender and melts in your mouth. The Indian dishes like butter chicken are not recommended. The portions of the mantu (dumplings) are really far too small. But all meat dishes were extremely good. I really enjoy eating there. A recommendation from me.

We went here today for ice cream, but it tasted absolutely disgusting. The ice cream was sticky, had hardly any sugar, and you couldn't eat more than three teaspoons because it was so inedible. So my tip for you: don't buy Afghan ice cream here; it's a waste of money on garbage. This restaurant isn't even worth one star, and besides, we had to wait 45 minutes for the ice cream to even arrive. We were extremely disappointed in the end.

We were there today for Iftar essek and the food was very tasty. For the price, the selection and quality of the food is top, there were 3 meat dishes and 2 vegetarian ones with starter and dessert. The service was very nice and courteous and worked calmly and pleasantly despite the many visitors.

Ordered again today. Burnt kofta, spinach only consisted of salt. And again Qabuli was boneless today, but only fat and indefinable stuff! It's a shame that they don't make any effort and the quality is very poor!! For That's done for me too for now!

I ordered takeaway food The food was actually good However, I couldn't enjoy it because the packaging is made of aluminum and the food had really absorbed the flavor from the aluminum. This packaging is not acceptable for health reasons, but I won't deduct a star from it. One star deducted because of the green pointed peppers that were smeared with yogurt even though mine doesn't contain any yogurt This strongly suggests that these peppers were simply taken from another dish and placed on my food. This is very unhygienic

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive.

In the future, a shoe box should be placed next to the traditional seat. The last time we felt sick was the smell of shoes taken off at our table. I no longer had any appetite. A small shoe cabinet would be nice so you don't have to smell the cheese feet.
