The food was really good. Ate chicken skewers and tatziki. Very tender chicken. Friendly staff

The restaurant has potential, but there are some shortcomings. The decor seems a bit chaotic, there was dust in many places, and the bathroom was unfortunately in very poor condition. The service was okay, as was the food, but not convincing. The meat skewers were burnt, and the side salad seemed poorly prepared. Overall, unfortunately, it wasn't quite right – with a little more care, it could be much better. We were here on March 17, 2025.

We placed an order over the phone and were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. All of the dishes were badly burnt and tasteless – an outrage! Something like this should under no circumstances be sold. Never again! We absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant for takeaway orders.

Tasty food and very nice service. In addition, the phenomenal background music creates a beautiful whole and is a recipe for a nice evening.

Vorsicht. Sind in das Restaurant gegangen aufgrund der sehr guten Google Bewertung. Essen war leider nicht so lecker und sehr fad. Auch auf die Bedienung musste wir sehr lange warten und uns wurden auch die falschen Getränke gebracht, die nicht bestellt wurden. Portionsgrößen waren tum Teil sehr klein. Toiletten bei den Damen und Herren konnte man nicht abschließen. Aufgrund der guten Bewertung habe ich mehr erhofft. Habe im Anschluss auf Google eine 3-Sterne-Bewertung abgebene, die leider gelöscht wurde. Daher hier die Bewertung. Vorsicht!

The food is excellent, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is nice.

I sit at my table and place my order. After 30 minutes, while I’m looking at the menu for dessert, the waitress comes and asks me to pay and leave because the table is reserved for someone else. That is just rude; I should have been informed before I sat down.

Toilets take some getting used to.

Had super high expectations of this place. Walked by the lane and really wanted to have a good time. Unfortunately my expectations met with a bad experience. The place is nice and cosy. Food is below average. Portions were less, pita Brot was burnt and the potato’s on the veg dishes were fried in common oil (had a strong fish smell). The staff were so busy, because of which I feel they couldn’t attend to the guests properly. They were so busy running around.

We placed an order by phone. Unfortunately the food was incredibly bad! Everything burnt and no taste!! A man shouldn't sell something like that! Never again!

The gyro was cold and not browned. Almost every Greek snack bar can do this better. But friendly service.

The card no longer quite matches the offer. According to the menu, bread should be included with the grill plate, but according to the waiter it is no longer included. We then pointed out that the menu would have to be adjusted and his answer was: if we wanted bread with it, it would cost €1. In my opinion this doesn't work. When we were clearing away we asked if the bifteki didn't have feta, since it wasn't without. No reaction. The food was ok, but we've had better Greek food.

You can do it. Great appetizer. Grill plate for 2 was so-so. Heavily grilled. Some of them cannot be done even with a knife. Table for 2 is quite small. Service friendly. Music is very loud, which of course makes conversations loud. Prices for D'Dorf city center are ok

Delicious food, starter and main meal. Unfortunately you could only choose from 2 desserts so we skipped them.

I really wish I could give a higher rating, but with a heavy heart I would not recommend this place. Reasons are the quality of the food was 2.5/5 and the cost of a glass of water 200ml, 3.10€! The stuff was not in the best of moods, although that can happen to anyone. I hope they get the chance to recover from whatever it is that's dragging them down. But to me my experience there symbolizes the state of Greece; in rapid decline.

Fantastic Authentic Greek Food.

The ambience was quite nice, but unfortunately the rest left a lot to be desired. The food was boring: a lot of it was just fried, even though it was stated on the menu as gratinated. Ordering the appetizer was difficult because we received things that we hadn't ordered. The biggest disappointment, however, was the bill. We noticed that over €30 had been overcharged. When we asked the waiter in a friendly manner, he reacted completely inappropriately. He didn't let us finish and was extremely rude. In the end he only gave us €24 back. When asked again, he responded even more impudently. For us it wasn't about the few euros, but about dealing with the situation. With a smile, a few kind words and perhaps a small concession - for example an ouzo - everything could have been sorted out. Instead, we left the restaurant stunned and angry. Even the cook, who noticed what was happening, seemed overwhelmed. We cannot recommend this restaurant. If only we had read the reviews beforehand...

Had a delicious Greek meal last Friday... it was busy because of the Christmas market! and we were lucky to have a table for 2 😁 nice lady who kindly helped us, recommended the dish to us and 2 people also took it!! and it was really great! And as Dutch people, it is also very affordable! and a beautiful thing!! recommended

Meat dry, service subpar, they can't even manage to do things right when there are hardly any visitors. The metaxa tasted like cocktail sauce. Very disappointing.

I chose this place because salmon was much cheaper than in most other places (18 vs 28 Euros), and I was not disappointed. Friendly staff 100% Greek, and some of the customers were Greek too.

Actually 0 stars for the service. You get lukewarm food and the grill plates lack pork steaks and pita bread. When you ask the waiter you get a very rude response: “What are you complaining about now? Bugger me." The empty drink bottles are simply left in the middle of the room and the toilets cannot be locked. Apart from the terrible service and the fact that the food was lukewarm and incomplete, it was good.

Wij hebben geen fijne ervaring met dit restaurant gehad. Wij hebben het reserveringsformulier via hun ingevuld en daarna nog eens gebeld om te vragen of de reservering ok was. Deze was al genoteerd werd ons gezegd. Helaas toen wij bij het restaurant aankwamen bleek er geen plaats voor ons te zijn. Moesten wachten en na een tijd werden we aan een grote tafel gezet waar ook andere mensen (onbekenden) kwamen aanschuiven. Dit vonden wij niet kunnen en gevraagd of er geen andere optie was maar men was er heel onduidelijk in.Wij zijn uiteindelijk vertrokken. Vonden het geen fijne sfeer en het eten geen idee of dat wel ok is….

Great restaurant, great value for money

We were there a few days ago (2 people). The drinks we wanted to order (3 different things - rose lemonade, iced tea and Lillet Wild Berry) were no longer available. The food was tasty but very small portions. The service didn't ask once if everything was okay. We always had to make ourselves known if we wanted something else and the empty plates were only cleared away 30 minutes after we had finished eating. Every time I reported there was a “pay?” instead of a “What can I do for you?” The bottom line is that the food is great for a snack bar, but the service is clearly too weak for a restaurant. You didn't feel welcome. We wouldn't visit the restaurant again.

Overall it was good. The fries could have been crispier and the portions could have been larger. Haven't been there for a while and tried again. It used to be a little better. The menu is OK and the prices are fair. You can go there very well. Even in larger groups.

Solía vivir en Chipre, pero Athina era el mejor restaurante griego en el que he comido. Yo estaba en un poco de una gira por Europa y una cosa que estaba encontrando con la comida local en Bélgica y Alemania no era un montón de verduras servidas, así que mientras pedí una parrilla también pregunté si podía pedir un plato de verduras fuera de menú. "No hay problema" me dijeron, pero lo que recibí fue una verdadera obra de arte por el chef allí.

While looking for a Greek restaurant we came to Athina. What a delicious meal we had. Excellent chef and super friendly staff and at least you won't be shocked by the bill! We will definitely eat at Athina again when we are in Düsseldorf.

With one of the best Greek Pita Gyros places in Düsseldorf. Today I tried a pita with chicken gyros. It was so tender and juicy and simply delicious. The staff is very friendly and you can sit nicely inside or outside.

Here the boss still cooks herself in the open kitchen - we gathered there and actually spent a cozy evening. The waiter was very friendly and always served us quickly and in a friendly manner. Drinks were brought to us first by the boss. While we were deep in our conversation and didn't say thank you straight away, there was a sharp comment: okay then not. For food - I had shrimp which, together with other ingredients, tasted okay. The shrimp themselves had no taste. It said on the menu that it was gratinated, so the expectation was different. It's also a shame that some of the shrimp were still in their shells - unfortunate if you pickle them with your fingers in the liquid sauce. The grill plate was again very good and seems to be the restaurant's specialty. Next time I'll try this one.

Catastrophe! Raw bifteki swimming in fat, the “salad” was old leaves garnished with an onion, fries dry and unseasoned. We had to wait a long time even though there were only two other guests in the “restaurant”. We didn't eat. That brings us to the next point: “Restaurant” has no place here. It's not a real Greek restaurant. They didn't have any moussaka (it was on the menu). My husband ate a baked gyro that was a sea of ​​mayo and cheese. Frappe was good. Only good thing was that they were child friendly (we were with a 3 month old baby).

A cremated meal in the picture should not be even delivered on the client table. While multiple waiters stands and do nothing, client do not have a knife and can not get their drinks

First of all, we came to the restaurant with a group. At first everything went well until the orders came. A member of our party was not present when we ordered the drinks, so we made up the drink order while ordering the food. From this point on, the restaurant really disappointed me in terms of service. Being spoken to by the waitress was the least of the problems. The drink, which was simply a 12oz bottle of Sprite, was simply forgotten, as was probably our food. Because we had to wait almost an hour for that. The restaurant wasn't crowded or anything like that when we arrived. Towards the end it became more crowded, so that one would understand. However, at this point we had already been waiting for almost an hour. There was nothing wrong with the food. It was delicious. The service was subpar. My recommendation would be that if this restaurant is to be yours, it should only be for takeaway.

Dishes from star chef Björn Freitag, the finest tablecloths and high-class service meet a Greek snack menu. Doesn't fit together for me. The meal had its highs, with the crispy gyros, but also its lows, with a dry Kontosouvli that has nothing to do with the original. My tip would be less pretense and more concentration on a good result on the plate.

The restaurant is cosy. Food is not tasty and a lot different than real Greek style! Service is Ok but waiter hospitality is nothing to do with Greek hospitality! Price: expensive I would not recommend this restaurant!

I've picked up some super tasty pita bread to take home a few times now. The price of €5.50 is unbeatable for a quick lunch on hand and the people there were always incredibly friendly! The meat is also great. I'll definitely stop by here for dinner with some friends soon!

Beautiful place, nice people and lovely food

We ordered two gyro plates. We received two cold mini portions with RAW unseasoned fries. There weren't even any onions, we cut them ourselves. The meat was very fatty. Tzatziki was apparently bought and tasted like nothing. Once and never again ! 25€ Ciao

Get schnitzel delivered instead of chicken breast. Meat totally gristly and tough, fries unsalted, salad with no taste, a complete disappointment.

The food was really tasty and well seasoned, and you didn't have to wait too long for it. The interior of the restaurant is modern, with tasteful tablecloths and cloth napkins. However, there is one aspect that could be improved in the future. The pita bread mentioned on the menu was missing from both dishes we ordered. When we tried to order a cappuccino, we were told that it was not possible because the kitchen did not have milk. The menu of the day with home cooking promised on the website was not available. And a very strange observation: the toilet door of the restaurant could not be locked as the key was missing and there was no other way to lock it. All in all, the food is recommendable and the price-performance ratio is very good. The menu also offers many dishes that you won't find in other Greek restaurants in Düsseldorf.

Delicious food, ambience more like a snack bar feeling (probably intended more for to go). The service was friendly and the kitchen was still open at 9 p.m. during the week. All the Japanese were already closed.

We were there for the first time today. We don't come from Düsseldorf, the store itself makes a good impression, very well maintained and a nice atmosphere. Even during the week we still managed to get a table for 6 people. Now to order the food. It was a bit chaotic, 2 of us ordered starters and a main course individually, so far so good, the food came quickly and was super tasty. The others always ordered appetizer platters for themselves. They also said which appetizers they would like and which they wouldn't (for reasons of allergy, intolerance or similar). The lady brought the plates, it wasn't as ordered. And even things that you can't tolerate were a shock at the end of the evening, despite being told about them. On the bill we had 15 euros per starter plate plus another 7 euros for baked feta per plate, although this was on the plate and it was not mentioned that we had to pay extra for it. I find it absurd. For the 4 with the platters it was about 30 euros per person, and for the 2 with starter and main course 20-25 depending on the drinks. In my opinion that relationship is absolutely not correct. Maybe we were just unlucky. Next time we only know how to order dishes as they are on the menu, then we won't have any unpleasant surprises at the end. Furthermore, one bill was charged 4 euros too much. A pity. Food was really damn tasty and you can give it 5 stars. For the price/performance ratio only 1 star.

Food, service and prices are great, my wife is "Coeliac" and the souvlakis, Feta and Tzaziki among other things are Gluten-free it's just a matter of letting your waitress know about it. Since Düsseldorf has very few affordable gluten free options, will definitely go back and recommend.

Guests from HH at ATHINA over the carnival weekend...Unfortunately the food portions were very large! manageable 😒 According to the menu, bread and salad should be served with every meal... it wasn't available for us 👎🏼 When the waitress brought one of us the wrong food, she asked us, “Now what?” There was no excuse and our friend also had to pay extra for the pita bread as a side dish for the starter!!! A PITY!

Quite solid greek restaurant with fair prices, reasonable portions and friendly service. We loved the offer to choose different meats, including many non-pork options. Chicken and beef skewers were tasty, pork gyros and stuffed beef-bifteki also good.

Yesterday we had a brilliant evening at Athina's! Original and original Greek cuisine cooked from the heart paired with fast service gave us an unforgettable experience! Absolutely recommended, nothing more can be said!!!!

It took quite a long time until we got our food. And the appetizers we ordered weren't there. The waiter probably didn't pass it on to the kitchen. The food wasn't bad, but nothing special either. Something got mixed up with the reservation too. No recommendation.

Als die Rechnung kam, wurde leider auch noch versucht zu betuppen. Nach unserem Hinweis auf die falsche Abrechnung wurde uns plötzlich noch ein Essen mehr angedichtet. Absolut schlechter Service, konstanter unangemessener Ton und sehr, sehr schlechte Qualität! Nie wieder…Spart Euch das Geld.

I got two pita gyros chicken via Lieferando. Delivery was quick but it was very disgusting. They delivered pork. I couldn't eat it and I didn't like it. Sehr freundliches Personal. Küche einsehbar und sehr lecker. Außergewöhnliche Gerichte. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Das Restaurant selbst ist klein und könnte leicht mit einem Imbiss verwechselt werden. Kommt man rein, steht man erstmal vor einer großen Theke und im Hintergrund dreht sich ein Drehspieß mit Fleisch - ein bisschen wie in einem Döner-Laden. Weiter hinten gibt es aber sehr gemütliche Tische und eine wirklich sehr schöne und heimelige Atmosphäre. Das Highlight ist aber ganz klar das Essen! SELTEN (!) so gut griechisch gegessen! Die Chefin spricht selbst nur gebrochen deutsch und es gab auch nicht alles, was auf der Speisekarte stand, woraufhin wir uns einfach von ihren Empfehlungen haben leiten lassen - und das war wirklich großes Kino! Und zwar von der Vorspeise über die Hauptspeise bis zur Nachspeise (warmer Nusskuchen mit Vanille-Eis - wäre ich nie auf die Idee gekommen das zu bestellen, war aber geradezu unfassbar lecker)! Ich gebe dem Restaurant und seiner sehr sympathischen Chefin (und vor allem ihren Koch-Künsten) 5 Sterne, und spreche eine Empfehlung aus, die genauso warm ist wie dieser leckere Nusskuchen zum Schluss 😋
