Fine Greek cuisine. Attentive service.

Great Mediterranean food, not the usual run-of-the-mill stuff you often get in Greek restaurants. Plus, a fantastic selection of wines. Unfortunately, the prices have gone up quite a bit recently. :( Always a good choice.

The food was okay, but there were loud children and dogs everywhere, barking and screaming incessantly. The atmosphere was absolutely utterly utter; you couldn't even have a conversation!

Four of us ate there; everything was delicious and served quickly. The entire staff was incredibly friendly. We all particularly enjoyed the funny and relaxed manner (but still extremely polite) of one of the waiters. The outdoor area in the courtyard, with its vine roof, is very cozy. We'll be happy to come back next time we're in Düsseldorf. 😊

Excellent Greek cuisine with classics and more. Super friendly staff! Unfortunately, the noise level in a crowded restaurant is almost unbearable – some kind of soundproofing would be very helpful.

We ate at Askitis and were looking forward to an authentic Greek experience. Positive: The service was very friendly and attentive, and there were beautiful Greek songs playing in the background, which we enjoyed. Contrary: We were unfortunately disappointed with the food. The appetizers were quite small and not convincing for the price. The bifteki was dry, the potato slices were overseasoned, and overall, we felt that the authentic Greek taste experience was missing. The atmosphere could also be improved: the tables outside on the terrace are very close together, and the interior feels rather plain. A little more Greek flair would certainly improve things.

This is really a top restaurant in the area. The food is excellent.

There were five of us. Everything was delicious.

Super delicious food in a beautiful setting and with attentive service. But the fact that neither air conditioning nor fans provide any cooling in the summer heat doesn't fit the restaurant's high standards at all! Everyone at our table was constantly talking about how hot it was in the restaurant; that shouldn't dominate the table conversation! The background noise was loud. I prefer Greek music to international music.

A lovely ambiance, excellent dishes, and impeccable service! We always feel welcome here, and every visit is simply outstanding. The prices are absolutely fair considering the quality.

We'd love to come back! We enjoy being guests; the service is outstanding, as is the food. This is how gastronomy should be, and this is how Greek food should taste! The fish selection is outstanding, and the wine list is second to none.

Top value for money. Highly recommended.

We had lamb chops and lamb skewers for our main course, along with dakos and tiganita for starters. The starters were okay. The main courses, however, were a disappointment: The chops were tough and hard to chew, and the skewers were bland in taste and more like snack food. It's a shame, because the service was friendly and the first impression was promising. Unfortunately, this was our first and last visit.

One of my favorite restaurants in Düsseldorf! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the wine selection is great. I absolutely love sitting in the open space in the back.

The waiter who looked after us was extremely competent and attentive. The food was very tasty. Table for 4 was a bit too short, the waiter found a solution on his own initiative.

Wir haben dort mit der Familie gemeinsam Geburtstag gefeiert! Zuerst gab es div. griechische Tapas, welche alle durch die Bank lecker waren. Der Tzatziki ein Traum! Dann konnte jeder als Hauptgang wählen. Ich hatte die geschmorte Lammschulter und sie war ein herrlich. Super zart, auf den Punkt gegart und die Sauce aus Lammjus sehr sehr gut. Als Nachtisch einen Karamelpudding, der den Abend abrundete. Super Auswahl an verschiedenen griechischen Weinen. Das Personal alle super freundlich und aufmerksam! Sie haben immer, egal wie voll es ist, ein Lächeln auf den Lippen. Wichtig ist, ein Tisch zu reservieren, da das Restaurant gut besucht ist. Wer hier Gyros sucht, sucht vergebens. Vermisst man aber nicht, denn die Speisekarte ist von der Auswahl her super!

Great atmosphere, authentic cuisine, professional service!

For over 20 years, the Askitis restaurant has been the best Greek restaurant in the city for me. As a regular from the very beginning, I can say with conviction that the quality and service here are simply outstanding. The staff is exceptionally good and always attentive - you can tell that they are professionals and do their work with passion. The food is of the highest quality, and fish dishes in particular are an absolute highlight. I can only warmly recommend the Askitis restaurant. Greek cuisine of the highest standard is offered here and I am already looking forward to my next visit.

We went to the Christmas party in Askitis with 15 people on December 4th, 2024. I have never experienced such a well-organized team. And that during Advent. All thumbs up for the service and food!

3 minutes from Brehmplatz, warm ambience, very good cuisine, good service, water and ice prices are unfortunately excessive, bottle of Gerolsteiner 0.75 for €7.50 is incomprehensible

An all-round perfect experience at Askitis Restaurant! We had our Christmas dinner with the team at Askitis Restaurant and all I can say is: it was absolutely fantastic! From the first moment we were warmly welcomed and looked after excellently. The service was attentive, professional and yet pleasantly warm - we immediately felt at home. The food was an absolute highlight! Every dish was prepared with a lot of love, tasted excellently and beautifully presented. The organization was also great: everything ran smoothly, our group's wishes were implemented perfectly, and the atmosphere was incredibly cozy and inviting. I can heartily recommend the Askitis restaurant to everyone, whether for a team dinner, a special occasion or just a nice evening. Thanks to the entire team for this wonderful experience!

Top quality food and service and a nice atmosphere

A slightly different “Greek”. The dishes come from both classic Greek and European cuisine. The mezedes are great - small appetizers, a kind of relative of tapas. The lamb chops were very good and very plentiful. Unusual: The menu offers an Affogato al Caffè as dessert - something you rarely find even in Italian restaurants. Everything was rounded off by experienced and friendly staff. It was a great evening. Another little tip: The restaurant has three sections. The middle part (a kind of winter garden) is a great place to sit, but if it's well occupied it can get quite loud due to the smooth glass panes on the ceiling. If you want to have a quiet conversation, I would recommend the back part under wild wine.

Today, on my birthday, I reserved a table here and waited at my table for over 25 minutes to be served. The waiters are extremely overwhelmed. Every waiter should have their own station and know exactly which guest came, which guest ate and which guest wants to pay.

The food was really tasty and fresh, and the staff was also very nice and friendly. Unfortunately everything took a very long time, otherwise we would definitely come much more often. The prices are also fair.

Like any other Greek, just a little more expensive. We won't go there anymore. Oh yes, there was no obligatory ouzo.

Interesting starters and main courses. A nice restaurant, not a "pillar Greek". You won't find gyros here, but you get authentic Greek cuisine. They were also able to help us very competently with the wine selection.

The waiters were all courteous, but sometimes made us wait a little too long. The goat cheese salad tasted good. The meat was okay and the potato slices were a bit too dry. All in all good, but we wouldn't come again.

We were there for a business lunch (9 people). Even though the restaurant was full, we felt as if the service was there for us alone, we were served and looked after so well. There was really nothing missing. Therefore, the service is particularly praiseworthy, which, in my opinion, makes the restaurant a wonderful address when it comes to special occasions where “nothing should go wrong”. Because you are also on the safe side when eating. I have never eaten such perfectly fried octopus, my salmon was great and the dessert was a delight. There is also an outdoor terrace where you can sit under the vines. The wine selection was also excellent!

Nice, tasty, expensive by my Standards

What a wonderful coincidence that my daughter discovered that I had not yet visited this highly recommended restaurant in my neighborhood. Seen, read (in a common restaurant guide) and done: The day before (May 25th) I did Reserved a table and since we were curious about different things, we indulged ourselves with our rather small-scale culinary order: a tarama plate, (4.90) a skordates, (6.90) a choriatiki, (12.50) and due to the current season: a Chili-honey asparagus.(19.90) We were very impressed by the freshness and discreetly hearty taste of all the dishes. Of course, the classic Retzina wine (5.50) also went well with it. We were served in an extremely charming and friendly manner by - at least three people. I'm already looking forward to my next visit, when hopefully the weather will be nice, I'll definitely use the outdoor area covered with grape vines!

We were here for a small anniversary celebration - for the first time. After 2 hours we are satisfied and have returned with full tummies. The service was attentive but at the same time discreet. We chose the three-course menu, which had two different mezes to choose from plus the main course and dessert. The food was tasty and plentiful - value for money was right. We had a place under the glass. In the front part it is rather dark. We'd love to come back.

An einem Dienstagabend haben wir das griechische Restaurant "Askitis" besucht und waren froh, einen Tisch vorab reserviert zu haben. Denn die Fachmesse ProWein fand statt und dementsprechend voll war das nett eingerichtete Restaurant. Der herzliche Service brachte dann auch relativ schnell die Vorspeisen. Wir wählten hier die Mezedes-Variationen aus verschiedenen warmen und kalten griechischen Tapas. Diese waren sehr lecker und ließen uns schon auf den Hauptgang freuen. Hier wählten wir jeweils das Schweinefilet, einmal gefüllt und einmal auf Metaxasauce. Beides war sehr lecker. Zum Abschluss gab es noch das Kasantepi mit Mandeln und Karamell-Creme. Die empfohlenen Weine waren sehr lecker, die Getränkekarte als solches ist schon klasse. Wir hatten hier auf jeden Fall einen schönen Abend und werden bestimmt wiederkommen.

Fine example of Greek Dining Experience. Most important point is how late their kitchen is open. We came there around 22:00 and they welcome us with their great hospitality. We tried lots of things from the menu and nothing disappointed us. Atmosphere is very good down here. All the staff is amazing and that's the best thing here. We will come back again to have more time.

WOW is an understatement. Greek cuisine at its hearty best. Warm, delicious and the environment and staff are like ones family at a home dinner. Not one dish disappointed - absolutely fantastic and outside of a Cypriot restaurant in Nicosia, the best Greek we have ever had.

Today we tried this well recognized greece restaurant in Duesseldorf. The place was very crowded for and we were really intregued by all the different startes and ordered several of them. Everything was very tasty and my favourite were the "Pitakia" und the "Chtapodi". My "Moussaka" was excelent and the "Lamb shanks" were not so excelent. Wonderful service and a good wine selection.

Ich wohne ca 80km von Düsseldorf entfernt und komme trotzdem so oft wie ich kann nach hier. Vor zehn Jahren war ich das erste Mal im Askitis und ich kenne nur wenige Restaurants,die über so einen langen Zeitraum ihre Qualität halten konnten. Für mich einer der wenigen Orte an dem man noch echte griechische Küche erleben kann. Nicht abgehoben,gute Weinauswahl,leckere Vorspeisen,qualitative Fische,Desserts vom Feinsten. Kaffee unbedingt nach dem Essen bestellen,Rösterkollege aus Düsseldorf hat hier für einen tollen Espresso gesorgt. Service immer höflich und gut drauf ohne schleimig oä zu wirken. Danke,dass es euch gibt ich werde weiterhin gerne den weiten Weg in Kauf nehmen.✌️

Excellent authentic Greek food taste as you get it in Greece! At least for the the “Saldeles” and “Skaras’s” ;mix grill actually) that I tried! Just Real Greek taste and good service despite the full house!. Great choice of Greek wines too! Both Malagouzia and Prima Terra, were excellent with the above mentioned dishes

Leider recht laut im Gastraum. Eine Unterhaltung ist kaum möglich. Aber alles andere ist spitze.

Super toller Abend, schöne location, super herzlicher und zuvorkommender Service, sehr leckeres Essen in hoher Qualität und großer Portion! Die Grünen Oliven im Sesammantel sind ein Muss!! Werde gerne wiederkommen!

Kurzversion: 3 Pärchen - jeder hat von allem probiert Vorspeisen gut - sehr gut Hauptspeisen durchweg sehr gut Nachspeisen allesamt nichts besonderes und zu teuer für das Geschmacks- und Anrichteerlebnis Service freundlich, aber leider etwas too much für unseren Geschmack - wir hatten das Gefühl, wir seien auf einer Verkaufsveranstaltung. Langversion: Das Restaurant macht einen recht gemütlichen Eindruck; als wir uns setzten kam auch zügig der erste Kellner. Wir wurden mit Witz und Charme empfangen, der sich aber relativ schnell als aufgesetzt und einfach zu viel herausstellte. Wir sollen doch alle von der Tafel bestellen wurde zunächst gewitzelt (die teuersten Gerichte). Dann hatten wir uns alle einen Aperitif bestellt, was lecker zubereitet wurde, vor allem der abgewandelte Aperol Sprizz mit beeriger Komponente und hier konnte der Service punkten, denn ich hatte meinen "weniger süß" bestellt und das wurde auch freundlich und perfekt umgesetzt. Als wir noch bei der Essensauwahl waren, kam der Kellner zwischendurch und witzelte erneut - "nein, nicht in der Karte schauen, sondern auf der Tafel"...ab da wurde es uns unangenehm, weil eben bei jeder Gelegenheit versucht wurde das Maximum an den Gast zu verkaufen. Der Kellner hat dies dabei leider mit weniger Charme rüberbringen können, als seine Kollegin. "Wir haben die besten Nachtische", "Wir haben die besten Kaffeespezialitäten..." - nein die Nachtische waren mit die schlechtesten, die wir für um die 10 Euro oder knapp darüber gegessen habe. Einfach nichts besonderes und im Vergleich zu den wirklich herausragenden Hauptgängen leider um 2 Klassen schlechter. Kaffee hatte keiner von uns probiert. Wie angedeutet, waren wir allesamt mit unseren Hauptspeisen mehr als zufrieden - die geschmorte Lammschulter war ein Gedicht! :) Der Service in Form der Kellnerin konnte allerdings wieder punkten, als es um die Weinauswahl ging. Die erste für uns geöffnete Flasche, die wir probierten, schmeckte uns nicht, so dass wir auf Empfehlung eine andere öffnen ließen, die wir dann auch zum Essen bestellten. Dies wurde sehr freundlich und ohne verzogene Miene, über die zurückgegebene Flasche, durchgeführt. Fazit: Wir können das Restaurant empfehlen, da das Essen (bis auf den Nachtisch) wirklich sehr gut ist. Wenn der Service dann noch die offensichtlichen Verkaufsansprachen reduziert und einfach "nur" freundlich und charmant wäre, würden wir das Restaurant in jedem Fall empfehlen.

Ich war gestern das erste Mal mit einem Freund dort. Einfach nur grossartig. Sehr nettes und aufmerksames Personal und die Speisen fantastisch. Ich hatte Rigatoni mit Meeresfrűchten. Zwei Drittel davon Meeresfrűchte. Sehr zart und schmackhaft. Mein Freund hatte sich die Grillplatte bestellt und war ebenfalls begeistert. Die Vorspeisen waren auch sehr sehr gut. Hervorzuheben das weisse Tarama. Alles in allem ein sehr gelungener Abend. Kommen sehr gerne ganz bald wieder.
