Rustic apple winery with a large selection of food. Service was super friendly and very quick, even at the end. The garden is covered and can still be used in autumn. Always full at the weekend, so it's better to reserve if there are several people.

It was always neat. Sometimes variable quality. Unfortunately it has slowed down and prices have risen.

In the overall rating I fluctuate between 3 and 4... but ultimately give it 4 stars. Basically, it is a rustic location where you are in good hands in a friendly atmosphere. The food is more of a loveless mass fare, the drinking is the focus. You can be lucky or unlucky with the waiters or service staff. Our group was served by two service staff, one young man was super friendly, attentive and quick, the other was arrogant and unfriendly.

Apfelwein Solter offers a traditional experience with a rustic atmosphere, perfect for large groups. The portions are generous and the quality of the food impresses with good taste. The friendly service underlines the cozy atmosphere, even if it remains rustic. A small disadvantage is that card payments are only possible from €50, which can sometimes be inconvenient. Still a great place for a convivial meal with hearty home cooking and typical Hessian flair.

Food is delicious and the portions are huge for the price. However, I had a big piece of plastic in my sauce 😩. At least there was a coffee from the house but otherwise the situation was dismissed as if it could happen 🤷🏼‍♂️ . They could have at least given me the schnitzel on the house, but apparently that wasn't possible "because it was already in the system." 🤨 I also wonder how it can be that a restaurant of this rank and name can't prepare a cappuccino????🤔 I don't expect a high-class barista drink. But in my opinion, coffee with milk foam should be even easier to serve than a cream sauce without packaging waste.

I have rarely had such delicious Hessian food. Large portions, but still excellent quality. It's very nice to sit in the beer garden and you can reserve in advance for larger groups. Overall, great. P.S. The cider is very good!

The Apfelwein Solzer embodies exactly what you would imagine from a traditional cider farm in Bornheim. The cozy atmosphere and the authentic ambience invite you to linger. The waitresses are warm and attentive, you immediately feel welcome. The dishes are served surprisingly quickly without losing any quality - on the contrary, everything tastes fresh and excellent. The traditional German and Frankfurt dishes, which are served in generous portions, are particularly recommended. You should definitely try the apple cider and enjoy a medlar as the crowning glory. If you're looking for an authentic Frankfurt experience, you've come to the right place!

Typical cider bar. We were there with a larger group and had just arrived for the shift change and a colleague apparently came late, so the service was a bit chaotic. Nevertheless, we didn't have to wait too long and everything tasted good, especially the green sauce. Reservations are recommended, especially when football is on (you can also sit in the next room at the same time without broadcasting). Card payment possible from €50.

A must-visit in Bornheim, delicious food, nice ambience and top staff

Been there twice, the dish on the daily menu was sold out twice. Okay, it can happen. Unfortunately, 10-15 minutes before the kitchen closed there was no other option than schnitzel, not even the Cordon Bleu from the daily menu. I understood why that was the case when my schnitzel came with (far too little) green sauce. It was a frozen schnitzel, you could tell that it had been frozen. The meat was tough, the breading stuck to the schnitzel (no bubbles) and it arrived soaked in oil or fat.

The garden under a huge plane tree is a wonderful place on a summer day. The service is very friendly and quick. The food is average Frankfurt cuisine like you find and appreciate everywhere.

Wir hatten Frankfurter Schitzel mit Grüner Soße und Bratkartoffeln. Bratkartoffeln uns Grüne Soße waren gut. Schnitzel zu trocken. Solzer Krüstchen, Schnitzel auf getostetem Brot und Spiegelei und grünem Beilagensalat. Schnitzel zu trocken, gerostetes Brot, verfeinert mit einer Gewürzmischung, einfach nur grottenschlecht. Beilagensalat schmeckt stark nach Maggi! Das alles hat nichts mit guter Frankfurter Küche zu tun. Der Wurstalat vom Nachbarn sah gut aus, aber da war auch wieder der Maggi Salat dabei.

It’s a very good place to try real traditional Frankfurt food, we try the grilled pork and Frankfurt sausage, the best part was the desert the warm chocolate lava cake soooooo delicious:) if you can make a reservation as sometimes it can be full ✨

Update/Attention: Card payments are now only accepted for orders over €50! The atmosphere is rustic – really lively and full of German cosiness. The service was okay, but it was super busy, hence the longer waiting times. Traditional cider and schnitzel at fair prices and large portions. The gravy was particularly delicious. It's always busy, but there's plenty of space at the back with heated, covered tents. The portions are huge and the service is friendly. After dinner we were stuffed. There was plenty of beer and cider for a true Frankfurt experience.

The Solzer consistently offers good food and a very good cider, which its service staff conveys well. Recently, paying by card has only been possible from 50 EUR. This is of course a joke and raises doubts as to whether the restaurateurs who act like this will still hear the shots when two rolls next door can be paid for without cash. It seems embarrassing, but it fits so authentically into the 90s atmosphere of the restaurant.

Food was delicious (salad with goat cheese). The service was very unfriendly (at least at our table). When we asked for a purely green salad, the eyes were rolled and when we tried to take the rest of the food with us, we were looked at stupidly. In general the service was not very satisfactory.

Compared to other cider taverns in Frankfurt, it's quite expensive and no better. Service was quite unfriendly and not good :/ There were 10 people there, two of us ordered something vegetarian. The meat dishes came quite quickly, the vegetarian ones never came. After we asked, we were told “it’s over.” Do you want something else?” no sorry or anything like that. We then got fried potatoes with a few mushrooms for 18 euros. Unfortunately not recommended.

The Solzer offers everything that defines Frankfurt cuisine. I recommend the Krüstchenschnitzel. For dessert, the chocolate cake (you don't count calories, you eat them 🤪) The Äppler is good and tasty. There are also medlars 😉The Solzer Garden is covered in bad weather. Reservations advisable for larger groups. You can pay in cash or with card from €50.

The food was great, the portions were a nice size and the price-performance ratio was also good. Great service, very friendly and accommodating. The inner courtyard is cozy and quiet, although a bit old and very rustic with the wooden benches.

The atmosphere and vibe is incredible - it’s busy and full of German spirit. The service was not great which we presume was due to how busy the restaurant was. While it wasn’t the best German food we’ve ever had, it was still an incredible experience and we would highly recommend it.

Renata always kept us waiting. I had the impression she just wasn't in the mood. You felt like you were a nuisance as a guest. She also sat down at a next table and just chatted there. A pity. It took a long time to be able to order. That just happened when it was convenient for her. But it was delicious. Well, everyone has a bad day sometimes. Too bad though. Maybe too few staff. One of the best apple wineries in Frankfurt. The food always comes very quickly and is simply delicious, the service is friendly, courteous and fast. We always enjoy coming back and look forward to our next visit.

We were there this Saturday at 4 a.m. for dinner. I had Viennese veal schnitzel that was as dry as the sole of a shoe for 23 euros, thank you, never fried again, and next to us there were charred black spairribs, thank you, bye 63 euros for two people, never again

The only point of criticism: parking spaces near the restaurant are rare. It is therefore advisable to travel by public transport or bicycle. Conclusion: Apfelwein Solzer is a great restaurant for anyone who wants to enjoy traditional Frankfurt cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. The food is delicious, the cider is tasty and the staff is friendly. I can absolutely recommend the restaurant!

Food really great. Facilities outdated. Frankfurt and also apple wine bars also work differently. The women's toilet is in urgent need of renovation, and more attention should be paid to cleanliness, even or especially when it is full.

The ambience in Solzer was and is great. The apple cider tastes good. As in any cider bar, the service takes some getting used to, but is more acceptable than in Sachsenhausen. It's just that the food was really hard to eat. When it comes to the schnitzel, I have great doubts that it has ever seen a pan and if so, it has done so several hours beforehand. Pretty much every restaurant on the street can do this much better...

For a short time now, card payments below €50.00 have no longer been accepted. This is a large amount. €30.00 or 40.00 would have done it too. Who else pays large amounts in cash! Then you may have to orient yourself differently.

Unfortunately the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly. The sprayed tastes very good. The ambience is pleasant with the open “Äpplergarten”.

Great rustic restaurant with delicious cider and great food. There were excellent ox cheeks. You almost walk past the very inconspicuous entrance, but once you're inside, it's a great location with beer tent sets and a huge tree in the middle of the covered and heated beer garden.

The beer garter area was not so clean, the menu had some sticky feelings when we read it. We came here specially for the Spargel dishes but we were not so satisfied. My opinion is, there are better and more relaxing restaurants in Frankfurt to choose.

Beautiful apple wine bar in the heart of Bornheim with good home-made apple wine. Food is very tasty and was served quickly. The desserts were also beautifully presented and delicious. Finally, there was a round of medlar on the house.

Felt like a sports bar, service was extremely slow, food didn’t come until more than 1hr later after chasing so many times. Staff not attentive, very difficult to get hold of. Perhaps this is due to a game day and restaurant overwhelmed. Food is okay, soup is too salty.

Solzer… a Bernese institution… spontaneously got 2 last seats at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening… great food… top quality…. 35 years ago it wasn't any different here... just a little cheaper... 😉...

Brilliant food, great service and a friendly atmosphere

Wir waren immer 2-3 Mal im Monat hier zum Essen aber das hat sich jetzt erst mal. Das Jägerschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und einer Salatbeilage kostet mittlerweile 19,80 !! Das Schnitzel war so dünn, dass es den namen nicht mehr verdient und die Bratkartoffeln waren zum Teil nicht durch. Die Salatbeilage hat sich leider auch halbiert - ist nur noch ein kleines Schälchen. Eine Apfelschorle 0,4 l kostet mittlerweile 4,90 € !! Irgendwo hört das mal auf und für uns hört es genau jetzt auf. Es tut mir wirklich sehr leid um dieses tolle Haus was es einaml war aber so wird das nichts.

Old, venerable Äppelwoi pub in Frankfurt Bornheim. Meeting place for the locals, rustic, quite a few places but otherwise there is no chance of reserving on the weekend. Everything on the menu is standard and there is also good Frankfurt cuisine. Yummy !!!
