If I could award more stars, I would. Stellar food and the best apfelwein I tried in Frankfurt. The staff was friendly and accommodating even though we stumbled upon the place and had no reservations. The ambiance is top-notch. We enjoyed ourselves but tried to be respectful of locals in their neighborhood joint. Do yourself a favor and get the green sauce — with eggs is most traditional. Will be thinking about this experience for a while.

I had the Frankfurter Grüne Soße with Hähnchen-Schnitzel and Salzkartoffeln, and it was absolutely delicious. I also tried the local specialty, Apfelwein, which was really good. The restaurant was quite crowded and a bit noisy, but apart from that the service, food, and overall experience were excellent. A great spot to try authentic Frankfurt flavors.

We were at this restaurant last weekend. We were starving, and to our surprise, the portions were very generous! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the bathroom was super clean! I recommend it.

A beautiful and charming Ebbelwoi pub where you can enjoy good food and a great apple wine in a pleasant atmosphere. The pub is located just outside the very touristy part of Sachsenhausen, making it a perfect place to round off an evening with another apple wine.

Before a SGE game, we went to Apfelwein Dax, a quaint, typical Frankfurt pub with real charm. Just the right place to stop before a visit to the stadium. The food was hearty and delicious, the portions generous, and the apple wine, of course, perfectly complemented it. A very cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and highly recommended if you want to experience true Frankfurt flair.

Yes, especially considering that you have a good chance of getting a table without reserving one in advance. ... if you can sit in the courtyard, weather permitting. The service is very fast and pleasant. The atmosphere inside is good. The food was really good. The prices include food and plenty of drinks. They also serve 0.3-liter glasses, not just 0.5 liters.

Good cider, but they also have everything else. Beer is only 0.3 liters, so you'll have to order often depending on your thirst! The service is friendly and prompt and loves green T-shirts. If you wear one yourself, you still don't get a discount, but you do get a pithy saying!

A very quaint and lovely apple wine restaurant. The smell when you walk in somehow immediately reminds you of better times. The schnitzel and croquettes are highly recommended.

Simply delicious!! One of the best restaurants in Frankfurt that still serves regional cuisine. The classic, of course: schnitzel with green sauce! But the many other dishes are also highly recommended! My favorite: liver dumplings with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. A special mention goes to the many friendly people who work here. Our first time here – and it was a perfect experience! We were greeted warmly and very friendly by the bartender at the bar. The service was excellent from the very first moment. We got a table that was perfect and were immediately treated to a freshly tapped beer from the Dachs – highly recommended. The beer garden is really nice and usually pleasantly quiet (of course, it always depends a bit on the neighbors 😉). The food completely convinced us: top-quality schnitzel, also available in a chicken version. For the side dishes, you can choose between croquettes, fries, or fried potatoes – very nice, since croquettes are almost impossible to find these days. It also comes with a fresh side salad. The price is absolutely fair and not overpriced. The cider was okay, but we personally preferred the beer – but that's a matter of taste, as we all know. We would especially like to highlight the service: always present, attentive, friendly, and fast – drinks and food were always at our tables on time. All in all, a fantastic experience. We'd love to come back!

I wanted a true German food experience and this did not disappoint! Some authentic dishes specific only to the frankfurt region and general German typical titles all dont disappoint. We ordered a few to share so we can each have a taste. The tables are typical German benches in the courtyard of the place. They serve one beer which was great and a variety of speciality wines. Parking is just a bit difficult and at the moment they only take cash.

Really good and also really traditional. This was my second visit to Dax and I was even more impressed than the first time. The atmosphere in the courtyard was great and the service was very, very good. The menu offers many Hessian specialties, and the food is excellent. The value for money is very good.

We were there with 10 people, and everything was great. The Alpine food was delicious, as was the food. Service was always prompt. A very successful evening.

I never write bad reviews but i could not leave this behind. Very roud staff. Had us sat on a very dirty table (with sauce and pieces of previous food), after 15 minutes we told the waitress nicely if she could clean it and she came with an attitude, blaming us that we sat before they cleaned it, when we got sat from another waiter to the table, we didnt sit ourselves!!! Also, to tourists they dont give a real reciept, only on a paper written with a pen and dont let us pay with card, only cash. When we asked them the reason, they didnt have a response. You can guess the reason. Dont recommend, worst experience.

In summer, guests can sit under a parasol in the courtyard, receive friendly service, and enjoy good, home-style food and a drink. DAX embodies what many guests certainly associate with Sachsenhausen.

A very colorful and atmospheric place — a real German tavern, which every tourist should visit. The staff is friendly, the service is warm and attentive. I ordered a Frankfurt schnitzel: the meat seemed a little dry, the potatoes were a standard side dish without any frills, but the sauce was simply magnificent and pulled the whole dish out. The cider is a signature, high-quality one, but rather an acquired taste. The impressions are positive, but the price for the schnitzel seems overpriced, given the simplicity of the execution. Nevertheless, the atmosphere and service are a definite plus.

The food is good and typical of the area. If you like apple wine, this is the place to be. The service is fast, very attentive, warm and unpretentious (if you've ever been served by a waiter in Düsseldorf, you have nothing to fear here), and very accommodating, even with the smallest problems. The ambiance inside is quaint with lots of fuss, while outside it's a courtyard atmosphere lined with beer benches. I like that kind of thing; if you're looking for a secret Heuriger, you probably won't find it here. Great place, I'd love to have one in my area.

Just the place to go before a SGE home game. Lots of Eintracht fans, good food, friendly service, and a 45-minute walk to the stadium, albeit a brisk jog. But you should reserve a table just in case.

A great match for the rich, savory dishes they serve. We had the Wiener Schnitzel (veal), and it was outstanding. Lightly breaded, pan-fried to golden perfection, and tender inside—exactly how a proper schnitzel should be. We also enjoyed the white asparagus, which was in season and served simply with melted butter—a classic, elegant pairing that let the quality of the asparagus shine through. Service was efficient and warm throughout, with staff happy to assist and check in without hovering. If you’re in Frankfurt and want a taste of local tradition done right, Apfelwein Dax is well worth a visit.

If you are looking for something typical you must pay a visit. The place is awesome, traditional and very local. The apple wine is amazing and the food is super tasty and cheap. Not a quiet place, not a snuff place. Authentic and charming .

At the weekend we were once again guests at the Apfelwein Gaststätte Dax in Sachsenhausen as repeat offenders. All of our displeasure about the lack of parking spaces in Sachsenhausen was quickly erased from our minds as we entered the "Holy Halls" of the Dax. We were greeted very politely by the “daughter of the house” and assigned to the reserved seat. Just for your information, without a reservation there is no chance of getting a seat except perhaps in the smoking area. We were served very carefully by our daughter, the drinks and food all arrived on time, we were always asked if we would like anything else and we were immediately assigned a new table inside the apple wine bar after we had to leave the garden around 10 p.m. because of the neighbors. All in all, it was a very nice evening with very, very tasty food, it's worth coming to Dax every now and then. ......... and of course we would love to come back to you. Thank you very much. Excellent spot to try Frankfurt specialties. We got there right on midday, so our waiter had more time to explain menu items without too many other customers around. We tried the local cheese, green sauce and apfelwein (not all together - across a few courses). Lovely traditional restaurant and we were made to feel welcome.

Just a heads-up — make sure you reserve a table before going, as it gets quite busy. I highly recommend trying the green sauce; it was absolutely perfect. Excellent service and rustic ambience. Only when eating the Cordon Bleu I probably didn't make the best choice, as it was relatively firm or tougher than expected and unfortunately from the deep fryer. The fried potatoes were very good and the salad was also tasty, although a little too small.

I had a stopover in Frankfurt to watch Athletic Scotland and decided to discover the city. At lunchtime I was near this place that was highly rated and I went in. The decoration is beautiful...German style. The first thing they showed me was that the restaurant did not accept credit cards... Well into the 21st century. I wanted to eat something typical so I looked at the menu and my choice couldn't have been worse. Two pieces of hard pork shoulder, a green sauce that didn't add anything and two small pieces of cooked potatoes. With a beer 22 euros. Perhaps my expression of disgust at the waitress was excessive, but the disappointment was huge.
