Ebbelwoi Unser in Frankfurt am Main

It's probably a typical cider tavern. The food and drinks are very good. We'll definitely come back.

We recently had a reservation at "Ebbelwoi Unser" for a business dinner. Unfortunately, the evening did not meet our expectations and was, in parts, truly disappointing. Although we had originally reserved for nine people (eight were present due to illness), we were seated at a large table for twelve. Later in the evening, two strangers were simply added to our table. This completely ruined the atmosphere of our business dinner and was unacceptable. When making a reservation for a private event, such as a business dinner, I expect the reserved table to remain exclusively for our group. Furthermore, card payments are not accepted. This crucial information should have been provided during the telephone reservation process for a business dinner! Arranging a cash payment for such a large sum was extremely cumbersome and unprofessional. The food was a mixed bag: The appetizers were delicious and a highlight of the evening. The green sauce, however, was by far the worst we've had in all of Frankfurt – watery and tasteless. ... In conclusion: The service and lack of discretion at the table ruined our evening. The restaurant might be charming for private and small gatherings, but it is completely unsuitable for a business lunch.

I'm torn. I actually like traditional pubs, but there are definitely much better ones in Frankfurt, and even the traditional charm can't compensate for a few things: 1. Too loud, and that seems to be intentional, judging by the almost complete lack of sound-absorbing materials. 2. The food is average. Personally, I'd prefer one thicker schnitzel to two where the meat is barely thicker than the pancake. 3. We were forgotten when we ordered. It happens, but I'd normally expect them to offer us something small on the house. I probably wouldn't come back, but I'm sure it's a very personal thing, and many people seem to enjoy the beer tent atmosphere.

A great place to experience a typical Frankfurt atmosphere. Good apple wine. The food, ambiance, and service are exceptional. Just note that they only accept cash.

Classic Hessian cuisine. Paired with a good program if you go on the right days. Almost always busy, so reservations are recommended. Very tasty, but quite touristy.

The best Schnitzel I've ever had. The sauce that comes with it is especially wonderful. We tried the cider, which was good, but I won't be drinking it again :) Everyone sits close together. There's a manager who sings and makes jokes from time to time. It's a great example of traditional German cuisine and entertainment. Make a reservation. Credit cards are not accepted :)

A great apple wine tavern with really good food and generous portions. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

The food here is consistently excellent. Portions are huge. Only the chocolate pudding with vanilla sauce... brings back the worst memories of kindergarten. Despite the large number of guests streaming in, the cramped space, and the noise, the service is very courteous and attentive. If you sit on the aisle, you'll likely get bumped by everyone; that shouldn't come as a surprise.

One star because zero it's not possible, they treated us like rats, they deserve the same treatment. With hundreds of resturants avaible just don't enter here, even the worst fast food deserve much more your money than this one.

We really enjoyed the restaurant with its charming, rustic atmosphere. The decor is rustic, but it fits the overall concept perfectly. We made a reservation, which is probably advisable, as the place filled up quite quickly. Understandably so, because the food was incredibly delicious. I had the breaded Frankfurt schnitzel with authentic green sauce. The schnitzel was almost as big as the plate, and there was another one of the same size underneath. The meat was pounded beautifully thin and without any gristle, which I particularly appreciated. Highly recommended in terms of taste. If you're looking for authentic Hessian cuisine, this is definitely the place to go!

We didn't pre-book, but we were lucky and were able to get a table. You sit at long, brewery-style tables. When it's full, it's very loud, but the atmosphere is great. A server sings occasionally. It was fun. We'd love to come back! The portions were generous, and we enjoyed the food immensely. The staff are very attentive, despite the hustle and bustle!

In 2025, it's impossible to find restaurants that don't accept credit cards. The food is good, but it's not a restaurant that offers many comforts; the benches aren't at all comfortable.

An authentic and immersive tavern offering typical dishes, generously served. I recommend the breaded escalope with sautéed potatoes (schnitzel and bratkartoffeln). The owner, charismatic and with a melodious voice, sets the mood and guarantees a warm and friendly experience! Seats are limited, so it's best to reserve and not hang around once the meal is over! You'll likely be seated with complete strangers, a great opportunity to discover German culture.

A wonderful discovery! Immerse yourself in a unique setting and atmosphere where the owner rings the bell to entertain the audience and sing along. The food is locally sourced and made with quality ingredients, but be warned, it's quite filling 😅 Reservations are recommended if there are more than two of you.

A lovely traditional little apple wine cellar, with a small but tasty selection of meals. Away from the tourist centre, down a little back street, but very welcoming, atmospheric, and a great place to eat. Definitely worth seeking out.

I know a lot of Ebbelwoi bars in Frankfurt. It was very loud, crowded, and cramped here. There wasn't much of a special atmosphere. It was almost impossible to have a conversation. The expected show seems to only be on weekends. Note: Cash only, no card payments. Okay, at the end, there was a strawberry limeade on the house.

Great food, great beer, and great atmosphere... Short wait. The owner was kind enough to seat us even though the place was full and we hadn't booked. We'll be back!

Vegetarians received a very unfriendly welcome, only cash payments were accepted, and no change was given. Ordering a main course was mandatory.

It was a wonderful experience. The schnitzel was delicious and also the sausage. The fried apple slices with ice-cream and whipped cream was banging. Dulcis in fundo, the medler liquer was something I had never tried before and that I fell in love with. The staff was also very attentive and funny. The boss, from Serbia, was very friendly and nice with us. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to try regional Frankfurt food in a casual environment.

Super fun and amazing food. Show up hungry, as the plates are huge. It’s a gem that lives up to the reviews. Don’t skip the apple brandy, it’s the apertivo you need after a giant meatball or schnitzel!

We ordered schnitzel with fried potatoes and green sauce. For some inexplicable reason, they also served it with sour cream (it's not listed on the menu). This meant there was a bit too little green sauce, so we had to reorder. Overall, the food was a bit bland, but okay. Service was okay. Unfortunately, the restaurant is so loud that you can barely hear each other. Overall, it was okay, but I don't think we'd come back.

A rustic pub with a "rustic" landlord who knows how to put the guests in the mood, including with his unmistakable, cheerful songs. I can highly recommend it.

A traditional German restaurant located in central Frankfurt. We tried the Schinzel and the Schinzel salad. Simply spectacular. The dishes are generous, and the prices are reasonable compared to other restaurants. The average cost per person is €25 to €30, including drinks. Without a doubt, an excellent dining experience. We strongly recommend it to Brazilians looking for quality food at a fair price.

What a treat! German cuisine at its best, German hospitality matched with service efficiency at its best. Highly recommend the meats (no surprises) and "on tap" selection of beers (even less surprising! :)) The only drawback is the "cash only" approach - you don't really expect that in the center of a city that is hosting country's stock market :) Other than this - top notch!

A very great restaurant with delicious food, ambience, service and even with singing and good mood

This cozy place turned out to be a great choice for tasting apple wine. The drink really deserves attention - it is preferred by many locals, which speaks of its high quality. As an appetizer, I chose a plate of sausages, meatballs and cabbage - a simple but very tasty dish that perfectly complemented the wine. I was especially pleased with the hospitality: the owner was very friendly, personally approached, showed photos of the dishes and told me in detail about each one, which made the choice much easier, despite the language barrier. I definitely recommend visiting this place - the atmosphere, food and drinks left a very pleasant impression.

I was out with my friend from the Palatinate region. For dinner, we had liver dumplings on the Schlachtplatte (meat platter). Unfortunately, the liver dumplings didn't impress my friend, a liver dumpling lover from the Palatinate region. The atmosphere was very nice.

It was really loud ( in a good way ). The restaurant was packed with people and the food was great. The service wasn't overwhelmed and they kept running with a smile on their face which was very pleasing to see on such a busy day.

We went at 17:30. Because it opens at that time. They said it would be ok if you eat and leave immediately. We didn't have a reservation. We had Schnitzel and Sausage. The sausage was very good, the Schnitzel was mediocre. You go for a pleasant meal in a local environment. I don't wait in line.

Discovered this spot near Old Town with surprisingly reasonable prices—not too expensive at all. I ordered the liver dumplings, which turned out to be more like meatballs served over sauerkraut. I wasn’t expecting that, but they were incredibly soft and flavorful—I actually really enjoyed them. The sauerkraut was simple but well done. For the main course, I had the Frankfurt schnitzel (Viennese style), served with green sauce and fried potatoes. The schnitzel was very thin but came in generous portions. The green sauce had a cilantro base—an interesting twist, though I think I would’ve preferred a classic mushroom sauce instead.

Also von mir ein ganz großes Kompliment ich bin begeistert und kann das Ebbelwoi Unser auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen

Today we went to Ebbelwoi Unser for a business dinner with a group of 40 people after an uncomplicated reservation and a very accommodating menu arrangement. everything worked out great. All agreements were kept, we received a very warm welcome and were then able to start our dinner straight away as agreed. The host has a great team, everyone was always helpful and very friendly. Every single member of the team contributed to us having a great evening. Even if we were a bit confused at times, the team balanced everything out and stabilized the calm again. We were looking for a rustic atmosphere and we got it We wanted to eat in a traditional way and everyone enjoyed it very much We wanted a good atmosphere and we were thrilled For us it was a completely successful dinner with fun and joy. I give an unreserved recommendation and would be happy to come back if I stop in Frankfurt again. Thank you to the host and his team in service, counter and kitchen… keep it up

We were here yesterday with a larger group. We decided very spontaneously to eat here. We called at 7:00 p.m. and had a table at 7:30 p.m. It was then kept free especially for us. At Ebbelwoi Unser, every minute you spend there is worth every cent you spend there. Singing performance including long but very good toasts. We will definitely come back. Thank you

We tried Schnitzel, Apfelwein and Mispelchen (Medlar Liqueur), I can say that I have never drank alcohol as good as Mispelchen in my life, be sure to try it. Schnitzel and the green sauce that came with it were also nice. Also, someone like Grumpy Virgin was doing a one-man comedy and musical style show. Even though it was in German, I liked how energetic it was.

Found literally by chance on nearby maps, we decide to stop for dinner. A noisy place to say the least, I have grilled pork accompanied by mashed potatoes. The meat, although decent, was overcooked, making it stringy. Water on tap but not specified, for what it offers the prices in my opinion are above average. Good service. In my opinion, entertainment is superfluous and annoying.

Rustic style place, we didn't book but we still managed to sit down. It's very noisy inside, sometimes you can't even hold a conversation with the person sitting in front or next to you... in the long run it's annoying. The service is quick and correct but the dishes leave something to be desired. The food is decent, the cutlets were overcooked resulting dry as were the potatoes but at least the portions are generous! High prices in my opinion, as a 0.3l glass of water costs 2.90, it is no coincidence that for two dishes and 3 glasses of water we came close to €50. I would define it as a place of passage. It does not have parking.
