The FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE WAS AMAZING AND LIT AF 🫨🤪🤩 The Apfelwein here is my favourite amongst the German restaurant I’ve tried around!!! Also the mispelchen is great! Me and my boyfriend really like their schnitzel with the grüne sauce 🤤 the mashed potato also taste so good I love the yapping comedy talk as well, even tho with my broken German I only understand 1/4 of it; but the vibes still fantastic! Definitely recommended to dine here! Remember to get a Reservation!!

Ok restaurant. Nice and polite staff, very fast preparation of meals. Unfortunately food was average, nothing special. I think it's good for a quick meal when you don't have high expectations. The climate was a bit odd, definitely historical but could use some refreshing. And in desperate need of deep cleaning. It was freezing cold in ladies room. Big minus for nit accepting credit cards, cash payment only.

Despite of the restaurant being full and there was only one server working, he worked very efficiently and still provided great service. Delicious food, delicious beer, you can't pay by card, which is a minus. Even though the place was empty, the waiter sat us at a table with other people.

I was there in a group with my colleagues and it was really a pleasant experience. The atmosphere of the store is relaxed and cozy, the staff is very friendly. The cider and local dishes were really delicious. The prices were also quite okay, I think they are fair. It's a good option to hang out with friends after work.

What an evening! It was very crowded and loud, but the food and the show were great. I also found the food to be more than reasonably priced for the portions. The service was attentive and didn't let us notice the stress. Everything came to the table quickly. We'll definitely be back

Arrive at 19:00 on May 23, 2024 Restaurant in the old town of Frankfurt, Germany It was a popular restaurant filled with customers' voices. We had the famous apple wine and delicious traditional food. The food was delicious, but it had a strong salty taste, so when I ate it with bread, mashed potatoes, and wine, the deliciousness of each ingredient added up and it was delicious.

For the price range, the restaurant is unfortunately not much better than any apple wine bar outside of Frankfurt. The menu offers very few and relatively expensive dishes. And what struck us as particularly negative was that the prices only allow you to pay in cash. For us it wasn't worth visiting the restaurant.

Best sauerkraut in town. Here the Lurchi dances. Not for people who want it quieter. Great service. I would like to see another cool day card.

Even though we didn't have a reservation and it was very busy, we still got a seat and very tasty food and even better service. Simply a restaurant with charm and character that you rarely find in Frankfurt.

5 stars more than deserved. Even when making the reservation, which is definitely recommended, they were super friendly and that was also evident during our visit. Very friendly and attentive service, which was able to put a smile on our faces even as we said goodbye. The beer and cider tasted very good and the Frankfurter Schnitzel was also nice and juicy and tasted very good. Finally a cider farm where even the potatoes were on point. It's very comfortable to sit in because the place isn't too big. A successful visit. Please note: payment in cash.

Traditional German restaurant, with friendly and helpful staff! We liked the fact that it wasn't too touristy and we were with locals! The schnitzel was fantastic and the beef sausage! The beer is fantastic! On the only negatives, we asked for dessert and since it was 10:06 p.m. they very politely told us that the kitchen had already closed but they hadn't informed us, so we didn't have time to order and try dessert! So ask when you arrive what time the kitchen closes. I will definitely visit if I come to Frankfurt again!

What a great restaurant. Perfect last night of our trip to Frankfurt. Good mix of locals and tourists. They found a place for us even without a booking. Dining tables are long and sometimes shared with others, as is the way with many restaurants here. We got there early so if you intend to dine later I'd suggest you call and make a booking. This place is busy and I totally get why. We got the potato sausage with fried potatoes and the slaughter plate. Sounds grim but everything was delicious. The apple wine was lovely too. Friendly service and a very inclusive place for all kinds of people :)

We came here at short notice with a group of eight people. Called an hour in advance and it worked great, even though the restaurant was packed. It is very loud in the restaurant, but it is also very authentic. Stop at a typical Ebbelwoi pub in Alt-Sachs. All dishes are recommended, especially the Frankfurter Schnitzel and the hand patted meatball. Super nice staff who are on their toes. Simply a delight. In addition to the delicious food and ambience, there is also entertainment from the man of the house. I can only recommend a visit to Abbelwoi Unser to everyone.

Very unfriendly staff. The seating is far too crowded so that as many people as possible can come. Food looked carelessly prepared and payment was only possible in cash. You also had to queue at the checkout to pay. The time was limited and it was not possible to sit together comfortably. All in all not recommended Money seems to be the most important factor here and not customer service

I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Frankfurt who wants a traditional German experience! The schnitzel was 10/10 - delicious! Only thing is you need to make a reservation, even for 2 people on a weekday. We were turned away on Tuesday because it was full but we came back on Wednesday with a reservation! CASH ONLY

The Ebbelwoi Unser apple winery in Sachsenhausen is a highlight of traditional Frankfurt hospitality! The ambience is warm and authentic – exactly what you would expect from a classic cider bar. The portions are generous, the price-performance ratio is very good, and the kitchen impresses with delicious German and Frankfurt specialties. The meatball and the schnitzel are particularly recommended. The staff is friendly, attentive and makes you feel completely comfortable. A very special highlight are the singing performances by the main wait staff on Fridays and Saturdays.

When we were 45 minutes into the restaurant, they kicked us out because the owner wanted to seat some friends at our table. The service is regrettable, the owner was rude and they charged us €2.90 for a glass of water (not bottled)

A great, rustic Sachsenhausen Abbelwoi pub. Very friendly attentive staff. The food is very good, only the Frankfurt green sauce could be improved. What you should also know is that the background noise in the restaurant is very loud. We had a lovely evening. What is also very practical is the Alt Sachsenhäuser parking garage on Walter-Kolb-Str. 16. From here it's a 7-minute walk to the restaurant. 1.00 euros\hour We'd love to come back.

Food was great. Unfortunately, more and more people were seated at our table, so that we ended up sitting diagonally across from each other and it was hardly possible to have a conversation, despite having made a reservation in advance. Every guest who came was seated somewhere. Payment was only in cash.

If you love home cooking, Ebbelwoi and entertainment, this is the place for you. Absolutely not for vegans or vegetarians or humorless guests. You get to know different guests over the course of the evening through the entry rotation. Very cool. Always almost fully booked, sometimes even for weeks, and cash only!!! The staff is ultra-top and fast and you can enjoy it here for 7 hours. endure. Unique shop. And Mephistopheles??? You shouldn't miss it anyway. Keep it up! We'll be back!!!

We were there yesterday with a larger group, had made a reservation weeks ago and were informed right at the entrance that we would be able to get more people at the table, even though we were already sitting close. We were rushed to order our food and the plates were cleared away immediately after the last bite, only to make room for the next paying guests as quickly as possible. It was terribly loud and crowded. You can also overdo it with your greed for money. It was just terrible

The food was really tasty and authentic German but I recommend to do a reservation in advance, because the restaurant is way too crowded and it's hard to get in without it.

Well, you have to like it rustic - both the food and the ambience. But very tasty, fair prices and extremely sociable. You inevitably get into conversation!

Excellent traditional dishes in a welcoming and festive venue. But be careful: they only accept cash payment. I didn't expect it, and I had to go and withdraw cash in the rain...

Exactly what this uncultured swine of an American needed. I found the suggestion on the Frankfurt Reddit page. I searched for recommendations by locals and they didn't disappoint. The Apfelwein was a new experience, and I'm definitely going to look around my home city for it when I return. It's similar to cider but nowhere near as sweet as what is widely available in the US. I had the cured & grilled pork cutlet - no idea what the German name is, our party was handed English menus. Everyone's portion sizes were ridiculous for the price. I wouldn't be surprised if the cutlet was >300g. It was served over some of the most delicious mashed potatoes I've had anywhere, along with a pile of Apfelwein sauerkraut. Due to flying in on the same day, it was my only real meal and was still too much to finish. Don't miss this place. If you only want a main and a 0.3cl Apfelwein, expect to spend just under to slightly over 20€.

If you want to relax from everyday life and have fun, this is the right place. Don't take life so seriously.

Had a possibility to visit the place… Well, let me put it lightly: “Please, don’t come here. There is no German food, nor food in general at this place. It’s all about serving pickled fried meat. The reason for it, I assume, is that meat gone bad, so it was pickled to preserve it for a lil longer, and earning money by serving untrustworthy products. I was fortunate to be in a company of a splendid young woman, which happened to be a vegan. When we asked for a vegan option, the answer was a moment of silence and, a few moments later, together with the other dishes, we got a merciless mocking of boiled potatoes without even a glimpse of hope in form of any seasoning or even olive oil. The place is „splendidly“ decorated with arts of taxidermy. Some of those have been decapitated. I guess in a desperate effort to put them out of their misery after them seen the types of things served at this establishment. An important addition to the experience is also an absence of any air in the room, after 15 minutes the feel of running 10 kilometers on a sunny day gets deeply imbedded in subconsciousness and a compulsive urge to take a shower appears. Conclusion: I am really sorry, should somebody’s opinion about German culture and cuisine be formed by such an experience. I’ve never considered going vegan that hard as on this accusation. The things done to food here are straight out outrageous. The prices are also very high and do not worth it in any of the wildest dreams of the head cook/owner. I highly recommend to avoid the place, thereby making yourself a favour by sparing yourself a waisted evening.

Were here with a larger group, it was very crowded. Nevertheless, we received our order quickly. The Ebbelwoi was good, the portions were very large and it tasted good too. Not recommended for vegetarians, but otherwise worth the money.

Inconspicuous from the outside, it was very full but we still managed to get a place for our group. We just wanted to drink an Appelwoi. As tourists, we noticed that the restaurant is very popular. There was also a vocal performance that is always part of it. Next time we visit we will make a reservation and eat some, it looked very tasty and filling!

We have fond memories of the evening, with entertaining service, delicious food and tasty drinks.

Wir waren zu viert am Samstagabend dort. Trotz vollem Lokal wurden wir zügig und super freundlich bedient, haben die Gerichte mit grüner Sauce bestellt und sehr genossen. Das Lokal ist sehr zu empfehlen, lustige Stimmung, freundliche Gäste und Mitarbeiter. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Very nice cider bar, with good home cooking. Very nice atmosphere and entertainment is provided all evening. However, you should always reserve in advance as it is always very busy.

It was way too crowded and you were squeezed at the table with other people. The food is just like any other cider bar and it is incredibly loud so you can't communicate at all. You also get an ear-splitting singing performance every hour from a heavily made-up man.

Expensive and rude service. Card payment is not possible, the notice that this is not possible is hidden under the reservation book. 1 measly hand cheese with stale bread for 5.60. And when asked whether this can be correct, the answer is yes. You can only pay separately at the counter and then you will be asked who complained about the hand cheese. Then you are informed that there are onions and caraway seeds on the little lonely hand cheese, but the request to leave the discussion in front of everyone is not responded to. once and never again!

My 3rd and last visit to this location :-( I am shocked at how unprofessionally guests are treated here. Opinions about the food are taken personally and responded to in a mushy and cheeky manner. There is a lack of good children's care here. My 7-year-old son has better behavior. It's a waste of my money and time to eat this average meal. In addition, my telephone reservation was not noted! You can't stand sitting on the benches for long anyway and the background noise is bad anyway...at 2 per mille you can certainly ignore it. Bye!

It's a very nice and fun place. It's a little expensive compared to some places, but it's worth it.

I would only recommend the visit to a limited extent - in the event of a tipsy evening and irrelevant conversations with the sole aim of satisfying your hunger and drinking even more, the restaurant may be suitable. However, if you expect traditional food from Hesse and nice conversations, then I wouldn't come here - what is called rustic is just annoying because you sit very close to complete strangers and either drown out other conversations or simply don't try at all to talk more. Nice people, average food and certainly fun in a larger group, but as described, if you're looking for something nice for a nice evening for two, three or four then just remember: a queue in front of an attraction doesn't always correlate with quality correct solution for the situation

Came here after almost falling for the tourist trap in the square. Walk was lengthy but incredibly worth it. The waitstaff were all super kind to us, giving their personal recommendations and frequently checking in. Granted we came when there was barely anyone but as soon as we left, people flooded the place. And they have a reason to be! Food is so delicious, crying after every bite because I wanted more. Will DEFINITELY come back again.

What can you say about that? Incredibly good. No matter whether it was about the service, the food or the entertainment on offer. It was incredibly good - an experience! The Vietnamese tour group would like to thank everyone involved.

Very cozy Ebbelwoi pub in the middle of Sachsenhausen. Food was absolutely fine in terms of taste and price. We made reservations in advance for 25 people and everything went smoothly. The service was very friendly and quick. International audience with a good atmosphere. Can be recommended at any time with a clear conscience!

Catastrophic!!!!! We reserved a table for 9 p.m. and were still at the door shortly after 10 p.m. We were held back for over an hour with empty promises. Absolute impudence!!!!

We arrived early on Saturday evening without a reservation and a spot was made available to us - of course, only for the time until the following reservation. The restaurant was very full and therefore loud, which added to the atmosphere of a rustic inn. The staff were busy, but we still felt well looked after. (There were communication problems when ordering, but that wasn't a big deal for us) What should be emphasized is the extremely authentic and down-to-earth, friendly demeanor of the employees. We enjoyed it and will have positive memories of the restaurant, even if we only served it here for a short time.

Rustic and located in a side street, it surprised us very well when it came to food. Service is super nice and the prices remain quite reasonable for ffm. The only drawback: only cash payment, a bit out of date!

Despite the good reviews the place is mediocre. Food is OK, but there are way better green sauces in other restaurants in the area. Also the Schnitzel was not something to be remembered. It's an authentic local restaurant in France. The cider is very famous, but it's not to my taste. The white beer is delicious and the green sauce is also delicious.

Lively atmosphere, five star considering just a very casual typical German fare. Little wild and loud… lot of beer drinking. Not a beer drinker and I don’t eat pork, but still had a good time. I think my German grandmother would enjoy.

The place is nice, the cuisine is German... At the table we tried the whole menu, but there wasn't anything really edible. Ah, take a malox about half an hour before the meal.
