We had a wonderful evening at Ebbelwoi Unser. Reservations made by phone two hours in advance worked perfectly. The Ebbelwoi tastes really tasty, the 3-liter Bembel was no problem for four. The menu was appropriate, large portions, very tasty. From the Händkäs with music to the schnitzel with green sauce and sausages with cabbage, we were completely satisfied. The service was friendly, relaxed and quick, the singing boss was the show. We also ate/drank a few of the medlars... very tasty. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Frankfurt!! Edit July '24: we were back! Ate again very tasty (potato sausage), the stuff is still hissing!

I would like to share an extremely disappointing experience at this German restaurant. First of all, the main course, a schnitzel, was presented in a crude manner and severely lacking in taste. The quality of the food was far from what was expected for a restaurant specializing in German cuisine. In addition, the general atmosphere was heavily impacted by the behavior of the owner, who imposed his songs on the public. This would be acceptable if the performance was good, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. He has neither the talent of a singer nor an actor, which makes his interventions painful. Worse still, he demands that customers be quiet during his show, which is extremely unpleasant. Another major negative is the owner's derogatory attitude towards non-German speaking customers, openly mocking them in front of the German public. This creates an atmosphere of uneasiness and embarrassment for customers. Finally, it is not possible to pay by card, which further complicates the experience for customers. In summary, I strongly advise against this restaurant. The food, ambiance and service all leave a lot to be desired. There are undoubtedly much better options for discovering German cuisine and having a pleasant time in the city.

We spontaneously got a place on Saturday evening. It was limited in time, but the 1 1/2 hours were very nice. We all really enjoyed the food and the restaurant is unique and the staff are very friendly. Should we travel to Frankfurt again? We will always visit this restaurant again.

Everything was exactly as I wanted it. Good mood everywhere, good beer and excellent schnitzel with fried potatoes. Add to that a few bizarre but beautiful performances and the evening was perfect.

We were recommended their apple wine, which we really liked. We ordered schnitzel with potatoes and it was very good. Too many potions so unfortunately couldn't finish the meal. But all in all, recommended! 😀

Alex and his crew were awesome. Despite the exceptional situation of the European Football Championship with the Denmark-Germany evening game, they had the jam-packed store under charming control. We four men enjoyed food and drinks, even if we only paid homage to the praised Ebbelwoi with a sip. The evening was a work of art.

Rustic restaurant with a classic menu. Starter variation for around 13 euros not recommended (price-performance ratio is not right in my opinion). But the schnitzel is oversized (no problem packing) and tastes good. Fried potatoes okay. Service: top. Friendly, precise.

Dont mention that you do not accept cards after I get the check, pls do mention that when the customer is waiting to be seated. I had to leave my phone as collateral and walk to an ATM to bring the cash to clear the bill. This is the only reason for 1 star. Otherwise, the food was good.

The food was excellent and overall it was a very genuine experience. We tried traditional Germany dishes including schnitzel, pancake soup, green sauce and apple wine. However, I just felt a bit let down by the waiters. Both waiters who served us spoke good English but didn’t warn us that the schnitzel portion was absolutely massive so we ordered two (one for me and one for my wife) when one would have definitely sufficed. Each plate came with two huge pork schnitzels and potatoes.

The background noise is too loud. You can't have a conversation with the other person or you shout at each other. Didn't convince me. There are better locations in Frankfurt to end the day after work. If the noise doesn't bother you, there's a quaint pub in the city center here.

However, in addition to not accepting the bank card, the bill is rounded up to the nearest ten. The bill is 37.5 euros? You will pay 40 euros, without debate possible. Crippling!

The waiter clearly demanded a tip, saying "tips are not included in Germany". (he assumes we are ignorant first timers in germany just because we don't speak german!) the bill was around 62.5 €, we gave 70 €, (they only accept cash in year 2024!) and he said this without even giving us the change. how does he know i'll tip him 7,5€ for that? how does he know that i'll tip him at all? First you give the change and then let people decide! This is very rude and as people who have been to Germany many times before, we have never encountered such an attitude. As for the food, there was nothing superior about it except that the schnitzel portions were large. We shared a dessert and drank applewine for 2 people. I think the prices are very high for this restaurant where we sat on uncomfortable wooden flat benches.

Typical German cuisine place, very warm and friendly environment, with sharing tables. The staff, although obviously under pressure due to their workloads, always appear attentive and kind to everyone's needs. Special mention for "The voice" Alex and for the very Italian Enzo da Gallipoli, who made us feel truly at home. The only flaw is the impossibility of making electronic payments, which cannot be seen in 2024... In any case, highly recommended, booking is required well in advance of the desired date.

Really great restaurant in the heart of Sachsenhausen. The schnitzels were super tasty and, according to my companion, so were the green sauce, the hand cheese with music and the ribs with sauerkraut. The atmosphere was great and there was great entertainment from the owner Mephisto. A must for good home cooking.

Typical Frankfurt food in a cozy German restaurant! Everyone sits at large tables, so you are never alone. Delicious apple wine, hand cheese and green sauce! Tip: take the Frankfurt starter to share and then half the schnitzel. With a whole one you get two very large schnitzels! Very tasty and a lot of it. Staff are friendly. The restaurant itself is in a back alley, which you could easily walk past. Can recommend it to anyone visiting Frankfurt!

Very homemade and traditional food, good prices and very good service. The 4 stars are because there are not many vegetarian options (and I am one). The portions are generous and they serve very quickly. There is the option of sitting at a table with other people.

I have to be honest and say that at first I only wanted to give it 3 stars, but because of the delicious food I'm giving it 4 stars. The staff (probably the owner) was very unfriendly, when we came there were initially only 8 people and so we weren't allowed to take our place reserved for 20 people, we were told to wait until we were full, then when we were 13 we were Finally let in, about 5 minutes later there were 18 of us (two of us couldn't due to illness), but even with 18 people we couldn't fit at the table that was reserved for us, I think it's a disgrace that you can do so much with so much effort Squeezing people into as small a space as possible. The tables are also very close together, there are benches at the tables without backrests, so close that I sat back to back with a strange man.

Not recommended! Overcrowded, too loud, too hot. Food is decent, but potatoes arrived cold, schnitzels were fine. Sauces were very good. Drinks are OK. There is no ambiance, no chance to have a normal conversation, too many people, everyone has to shout to communicate. Toilet clean, staff is quick. No chairs to sit but hard wooden benches.

Das darf einen nicht stören. Die Auswahl ist gut und die Portionen sind riesig. Die grüne Sauce war der Hammer. Das Lokal lebt natürlich von der Show des Gastgebers. Der Service allgemein war super nett und das obwohl viel los ist.

Frankfurt original Apple cider bar / restaurant. You get apple cider, for sure, and also a small variation of typical Frankfurt dishes. The owner of the bar will entertain you all the time with jokes and singing. you have to know that 😅 To avoid long waiting queues you should make a reservation.

Unfortunately it was a total failure, both in terms of the food and the staff. One dish was spoiled, others were just a disgrace considering the size. The Frankfurter Schnitzel was the only dish that scored points, which earned it the 2nd star. The staff was initially relatively friendly until we brought up the spoiled dish. We just said that the soup was “tipped”. But the insert was still good. No trace of unfriendliness or complaining on our part. Just as a note for other guests. Afterwards we looked over the table and the glasses were all empty, but we weren't asked for any new drinks. Apparently you can't handle criticism there. A pity. It would be desirable to act in a more hospitable manner and perhaps offer something else, or at least not to take the dish off the bill until you have been informed again. As long-established Frankfurt residents, we were invited to the Ebbelwoi Unser by friends. Unfortunately, the economy wasn't really convincing. The ambience with the old wooden tables and the rustic decoration is quite nice. Nevertheless, I sat on a bench that threatened to collapse. A couple of screws wouldn't be a bad idea. The emergency exit was completely blocked by a panel of people. And finally, it's really nice if the business has air conditioning, but you can also turn it on to exchange air if you can't open the windows. It shouldn't be decorative then. For dinner I had a meatball with apple sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Portion size was good. Unfortunately the food was an absolute disappointment. A meatball consists of minced meat, egg, onions, herbs such as parsley, mustard and just old bread rolls or breadcrumbs as a binding agent. This meatball, which was more reminiscent of a hamburger patty than a meatball, had more bun than meat and wasn't really seasoned. Unfortunately, this is more of a rip-off! Sauerkraut was a bit too sweet and the puree seemed to have a bit of a finished taste and was too thin for me. I say it's also a matter of taste. Maybe the herb should also be milder for tourists. The service was ok, one person was very friendly when he gave us the table and also took the order. Unfortunately there was no more service after that. We could have ordered something to drink and dessert if someone came to our table. And last but not least: only card payment, so you know why. However, it would be appropriate to reintroduce card payments.

A great place, but you're just placed somewhere that suits you. Beer tent atmosphere. The waiters are fast and have a lot of stress. After opening at 5 p.m. the hall was absolutely full. The schnitzel tasted good and everything came to the table quite quickly. We really wanted to try the legendary green sauce / Grie sauce in Frankfurt and Ebbelwoi, as well as Handkäs with music. Everything was delicious. We had to wait a while for the change to be returned, but a waiter was tough and took notice of it. I recommend a visit.

An interesting & nice place to visit if you're in the area, and IF you want the 150% local "Frankfurt Sachsenhausen" experience. Just make sure you know what this means... 🙂 - during rush hours, the place is very crowded, and when you're a small group (eg: 2-3 persons) you will most likely be seated at the same table with another small group of strangers (2-3 persons); really part of the local experience, this is not the only place that does this. - some of the staff could do better when it comes to politeness. Food is not spectacular, but good enough. Service is also ok, but not perfect. Eg: we got a good freshly fried schnitzel, but the potatoes near it were cold. Still, considering the prices (not too high), the place is a good enough option.
