Mediocre lunch menu and non-transparent pricing

I was there on September 15th, 2022 and September 3rd, 2024. The staff was very friendly both times. On my first visit I ordered roast pork. It wasn't until some time later that I was told by another waitress that it was sold out. I then ordered the crusted roast from the season menu. The food came quickly and was really, really good and the portion was large. The price was very reasonable. When paying, the waitress told me that cashless payment was only possible for orders over €30. Since I didn't have any cash with me, I was able to pay with a credit card. On the second visit I had a Frankfurter Schnitzel. The portion was large and the quality of the food was very good. I would only put the jar with the green sauce next to the plate and not between the food on the plate. Overall, I am happy to recommend the restaurant and increase my first rating from 4 stars to 5 stars.

Everything perfect except for the service...disaster!!! Customers must leave their clothes dry and go out wet :-))) Have to be careful that the drinks are not trained on you... Otherwise everything was TOP!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR EATING!!!

Very good, I went back 4 times in two weeks of professional mission in Frankfurt.

We were in Ostend this week. Luckily around 5 p.m. The lady in service asked if we had res. Unfortunately no. So we had 60 minutes. That should be enough. We had a Bembel, which was very well chilled and deliciously tangy. The grit sauce to eat with. Very plentiful and tasty. I had the Frankfurter Schnitzel. Hammer. Fried potatoes super crispy. TWO schnitzels wonderfully baked and still juicy. The crowning glory was the grits sauce. I had to have a second helping. Could have bathed in it. Top recommendation.

Beyond my expectation....pork belly was cooked to perfection....great friendly service as well....

Guys, I would love to give you 10 stars for the food! Incredibly delicious. We had dinner with 14 and everyone had almost a different dish. And every single one was deliciously prepared! The evening before we had a pretty bad meal somewhere else. And then the veal schnitzel in comparison. Simply wonderful. And then to finish off the Kaiserschmarrn 🤤 Many thanks to the entire team, but especially to the kitchen! Big big compliment.

Highly recommended, a nice place to share a meal, dinner with friends, family, etc... with typical German food and very good beer. I recommend the Schnitzel with mushrooms, delicious.

Inn in the Ostend, I came there by chance with friends and we were surprised at what they had and what it tasted like! Yes, it tasted very good, everything was well prepared and served in Rückertstr. Frankfurt-Ostend. Is recommended!

Oven-fresh pork knuckle with fresh grated horseradish, sauerkraut and fried potatoes was amazing 😍 like Sunday dinner at Grandmas.

Unfortunately, the many good reviews did not come true during our visit. Regarding the waiter, we wondered if he was drunk or if it was his sense of humor. Rather unpleasant for us. In general, the service seemed incredibly stressed and the placement of the guests was chaotic. This meant we couldn't enjoy our meal in a relaxed manner. The food was okay, but not so outstanding that we would come back again.

The waiter with the pigtail was very rude, seemed drunk, food kept falling drunk. He seemed annoyed and made the customers feel it. Otherwise food was great.

This was sadly the most disappointing German food I had in Frankfurt. The schnitzel was very dry and tasteless.

The food was delicious but unfortunately the music ruined everything. Mega annoying, you feel more like you're in a club than in a pub (including Carlita & SG Lewis, Jamie XX & The Avalanches). Card payment only from €35. I will definitely never enter this store again. Next time I'll go straight to Berghain for dinner!

The best Kaiserschmarrn ever, you have to try it! The schnitzels and fries are great, service is great Unfortunately, reservations are a must, but it speaks for the location! Would love to come back

Delicious and hearty food. The stylish restaurant has a modern, comfortable ambience. Small partitions create some privacy. The service is partly in the “Frankfurt tone”, but friendly and warm. Card payment was possible from around €35.

I'm no spätzle connoisseur but this was probably the best I've ever had. Generous, tasty portions of classic dishes, presented with pride in a lovely setting, you'd better go hungry! Service was very welcoming to boot, and all the guests looked warm and comfortable.

We only came to drink beers but service was rude. It changed when we told we not eat, only drink. She not accepted a card payment, only cash, but all other customers yes could buy by card🤔😤. I don't recommend service like that.

TOP! Was very cool here. Delicious “home cooking” such as schnitzel with green sauce, roulades, Königsberger meatballs, meatloaf. Very tasty food, good price/performance ratio, modern and cozy furnishings. Fast, very nice service. Located directly opposite the ECB...parking garage approx. 200 meters away. We'll come back when we're in Frankfurt again.

The service was a complete disaster. The lady was very sick, so she coughed into our glasses while we were serving. We were there at 4 p.m. and we were seated right next to the toilet in an empty restaurant. Our order was forgotten once and then coughed on again. We didn't want to give a tip because the service became unfriendly. I then pocketed the tip in cash again. Craziness.

What we were looking for. Staff very nice and a nice place to spend time with the family. The food was perfect especially the white cabbage.

The service was extremely unfriendly and so absent that it was almost unbearable. The food was OK but nothing special. The prices are simply far too high compared to the quality on offer. What struck me particularly negatively was the waitress with the red hair, who was so unfriendly to me that I couldn't enjoy my food.

We/I were there again last night. The chestnut cream soup is a delight. We are Frankfurters and are thrilled. It's a shame you don't deliver more.

We were in the inn with a group of more than 25 people and would like to express high praise. The challenge of serving such a large number of guests at the same time, preparing high-quality food and always refilling drinks in a timely manner was mastered with flying colors. The kitchen and the staff were excellently organized and on their toes. All guests were served quickly, without long waiting times. The food was consistently delicious and we liked the modern interpretation of Frankfurt cuisine. Particularly noteworthy is the boss of the house, who not only lends a hand, but also always has kind words for his guests. We have been guests twice now and are sure we will come back a third time. A big compliment to the entire team!

Food and atmosphere is excellent that's why i went here a second time. However, one of the staff was very uninterested in serving us as soon as we asked him kindly to communicate in english. We would get answers in german and he was busy with other things while we were telling him our order. He did apologise but the bad vibe was already there therefore we paid for our drinks and left.

Had the Frankfurt style chicken schnitzel and it was really good. The green sauce reminds me of green juice but a thicker version. When combined with the chicken, it tasted refreshing. Chicken was nicely fried. The orange drink was super sweet. Total damage was 39.50 Euros, there’s a minimum amount required in order to pay by card.

Good place for schnitzel. Standard German pub food. Enjoyable and can't go wrong.

The restaurant is highly recommended. The food tastes great here. The schnitzels and the daily specials are particularly recommended. You sit comfortably and the service is also very friendly. A reservation is necessary.

This restaurant made my first time in Frankfurt unforgettable. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. I ordered schnitzel with green sauce (a specialty from Frankfurt), and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. For dessert, I had apple strudel, and it was the perfect way to end the meal. It was also where I tried apple wine for the first time, and I loved it! This place really added to my trip and made me want to come back to Frankfurt. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

This is a great restaurant with good German food. The portions are big, so make sure to bring a good appetite. I can recommend the bauernschnitzel, but one of my favorites is the bbq schnitzel. As a dessert the kaiserschmarn is for me the best choice. Easily the best kaiserschmarn I had in Germany. The servers are very friendly and helpful. Big plus is you can pay by card here. Not every restaurant here has that. Parking can be done on the street next to the restaurant or in the nearby parkhaus. Make sure to make a reservation for the restaurant, as by 19.00 the place will be packed. Don't dress to warm either as with the tight spaces and loads of people it can get a bit warm there.

How's your German? I thought mine was bad enough to get around in German cities (where most speak English about as well as you). Turns out, my German mixes with my rush to completion (sorry ladies), to have me slightly disappointed. I read the name of this place on the googlie as "würsthaus" or sausage house...um, no...its "wurtshaus" or host house. Ok, that explains the menu with one sausage and umpteen schnitzels. There was a special board, which I noticed on the other side of the restaurant. Must be too heavy for occupational safety. The service is friendly enough until you want to pay €21 bill by card... some places have a €5 minimum but card, harking way back to those crazy days in 2009. Here? The cc minimum is €25. No dramas...ill pay €25, keep the change. Somehow, I bet they don't get cc tips here because my suggestion was as acceptable as a pig slaughtering lesson in a vegan bathhouse. Further, I am aware of the way to crumb said pig, so the crumbs stay firmly attached to the near-human flesh. The chef here seems to have missed that day at the porcinicide class. However, the bugger knows exactly how to fry a chopped spud...so it's not all crumby (thank you...don't miss the next review..all new material).

Nice pub on the street corner within sight of the ECB. Food was very good and prepared quickly. The espresso is also highly recommended. Apparently busy at lunchtime, but the interior seems spacious enough. There are larger and smaller tables. The atmosphere is very pleasant and invites you to linger. Card payment is only possible from 35 euros.

Local German restaurant. A little tight spaced but with some quaint shared tables, great for going solo. Service is decent but you need to grab their attention. Food comes fast. The pork knuckle was decent, a little dry inside, but nice crackling on outside. Three draught beer options, locally sourced.

I have been both eating and drinking several times in the past year. Nice food and fair prices considering the quantities. But I take off stars for the staff. An off day can happen, especially considering the volume of customers they have, but I have often caught them rude and super hurried to order without being open to give advice, even starting intimate you to finish your drink when they see you are almost done. These are facts: filtering the comments for negative, all those with low ratings (three stars and below) all make references to the staff. This is not a defamation, but a constructive criticism, because it can be improved.

We discovered this very busy little restaurant as we were walking! They were fully booked, but they managed to squeeze us in. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful, the beer was cold, and the apple pancakes a definite hit. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. A nice place to eat.

We have been to 12 countries across europe and their beef burger is in our top 4. Classic home style burger, packed with flavour and very filling. Chips were crunchy and well salted. Thanks guys!

It is an authentic German restaurant recommended by Frankfurt hotel staff. We ordered German pork knuckles, rib eye steak and the store’s handmade pasta and beef stew Every dish is super delicious. The grilled skin of the German pig's trotters is crispy. The pig's trotters are leg meat. The texture of the meat is like a meat without any fishy smell. The sauerkraut that goes with it has an invincible taste. It’s delicious; the rib-eye steak tastes great. Local draft beers and ciders are also highly recommended When we arrived that day, we thought there were no seats. The service staff said we had to wait, and then someone got up from the table and left. Plus the boss helped us allocate seats, and we had a seat in less than 3 minutes. The boss's service is kind and the food is delicious. If you come to Frankfurt and want to eat authentic German food and have a drink, this place is worth a visit. Highly recommended👍

A very nice restaurant with down-to-earth and very tasty cuisine. Service is excellent, you sit very comfortably and in addition to the normal menu there are also weekly changing specials. Also very suitable for business lunches. Price-performance is top!

Great ambience, delicious food 🥘

I was eating there with friends and an insect was fried. The waitress vehemently claimed in her gutter language that this couldn't be the case because there was a fly screen hanging in the kitchen window. But the cattle were fried black - definitely! Professional restaurants would have apologized even if they disagreed with the guest. You don't argue with customers. I found that very outrageous and expressed it. The waitress then fetched the boss, who stood up to me (at least he tried, but I'm two heads taller). Really aggressive and antisocial behavior. Something like that is definitely not recommended. I'm thinking about maybe notifying the health department about the insect in the food.

From an initial good impression with good food to total horror. A wasp was cooked/fried and was in the sauce. The service colleagues strictly claimed that it had flown into the food at the table and that it was 100% guaranteed that no wasps could get in in the kitchen. This statement is so incredibly outrageous that I am still at a loss for words. Instead of continuing to represent your own opinion, it would have been more professional to simply apologize, as such things can always happen and the wasp was actually dark and therefore couldn't fly into the table. A treatment that couldn't have been more outrageous and if you can't show insight into really obvious things, you shouldn't work in service.

Placed our order at around 9:30 pm, got recommendations on food from the waitress. 50 minutes later I am asking how long would it take for our food to arrive and it turns out the kitchen was already closed and they forgot about our order (or forgot to let us know the kitchen was closed by the time we ordered). Got free beers as an apology. Beer was good anyway and seemed liked a good place

Food was excellent, but the service was awful. The two ladies/waitresses with red hair were both having a bad day.

Food and location were standard. But the service was catastrophically unfriendly, not a smile, totally annoyed when you asked something. Otherwise, if you don't know what to do with your money, you're welcome to come here!!
