ANAND – Indisches Spezialitätenrestaurant in Berlin

As tourists from northern Germany, we were looking forward to the Anand in Berlin. But the disappointment began with the first drink: The glass of sugarcane juice was only half full. Filled with ice, hardly any juice. When we asked why so little had been poured (even though we had paid in full), the staff responded rudely: "I'll refill it for free now." Excuse me? We paid for a full glass. Refilling isn't a courtesy, it's the bare minimum. Instead of understanding, we received only a rude response. Unfortunately, the food couldn't save the day either: lukewarm to cold, and that at €80 for three people. Many reviews address precisely these problems, and the team reacts to criticism with a bad mood and defensive attitude. You almost feel like you have to justify even finding fault with anything. Too bad, this has nothing to do with true Punjabi hospitality. So, in the end, all that remains is disappointment. About the ambiance: Beautifully located, beautifully furnished, but that alone isn't enough.

Thank you Goraya Family for your wonderful Hospitality. We travelled from London and came across this place on Social Media. We had the sugarcane juice, Mango Lassi with some masala chai and Jalebi!! 10 out of 10, traditional indian food.

Medu vada is too small, Sambar is not at all good. Aloo paratha is good here.

5 stars We were in Berlin over Easter and discovered this Indian restaurant - simply a hit! The food was A1: authentic, fresh and incredibly tasty. The service was great, super attentive and warm. We come from Hamburg and were really excited. The owner is very personable and friendly, just like her father - you immediately feel welcome. If you love Indian food and are in Berlin, you definitely shouldn't miss this restaurant. It's a real shame that there's nothing comparable in Hamburg! We will definitely come back on our next trip to Berlin!

I went to their restaurant for the first time with my family and the food and drinks were so delicious, especially the sugarcane juice, that I had to go to their restaurant again the next day. The food is very tasty. I can also only recommend that you all definitely stop by their restaurant if you come to Berlin.

We had a great time with the children. The menu is very good, the children had a homemade mango lassi which they loved. We were alone at the meal, but then there were a lot of customers of Indian origin who seemed to enjoy their meal. This is a guarantee of quality. We arrived here by chance because the typical German restaurant next door refused to allow us to park our bikes in front of their restaurant. There was no problem here 😁.

I have a good experience with food.

The food and service quality was truly exceptional, I can't wait to come back. I highly recommend this restaurant. The malai champ item was particularly my favourite.

Good food, pleasant atmosphere, a rich buffet that also satisfies vegetarians.

The food is delicious, even if the furnishings are really getting old. The service was friendly, even if paying by card is difficult: some cards don't work and I had to pay a surcharge of over one euro because it's a Business Mastercard - I've never had anything like that before.

We didn't eat anything because we had already eaten elsewhere. We recommend the cocktails! Were well mixed 😋!

Solid Indian restaurant with very friendly service. The food came to the table quickly and steaming. Unfortunately it was very cold and drafty in the front part of the restaurant.

Cozy, central Indian restaurant. right at the Friedrichstr train station. You feel welcome and the atmosphere is pleasant and appropriate. Above all, the Indian buffet (if, like me, you are not familiar with Indian cuisine) is tasty and moderately priced. Worth at least one visit

Trinken und Essen kamen nach Bestellung erst nach langer Zeit, aber es hiess, es würde alles frisch zubereitet. Die Bedienung war freundlich, das Essen schmackhaft und reichlich. Preise recht günstig. Ich kann das Lokal empfehlen, auch wenn die Gerichte weit entfernt sind von originaler indischer Küche.

Yesterday I had buffet at Anand restaurant and was simply amazing. There were so many variety of veg dishes in buffet and I'm completely satisfied. The most delicious food. The service was fast and the best too. I will always recommend it to my friends and family 👍

We visited Anand Restaurant in Berlin for their afternoon buffet and were thoroughly disappointed. The desserts, including jamun and jalebi, appeared to be old stock from their counter – they were dry and hard. The non-vegetarian section offered only three options, and the vegetarian section had the same limited variety. The chicken gravy tasted like plain tomato purée with nothing else to elevate the flavor. Overall, it was a complete waste of money, and we would not recommend it to anyone.

We tried everything from starters, main courses and Indian sweets. Unfortunately the samosa chat was too salty but the other 2 starters were okay. Chilli chicken and breads were good but unfortunately the chicken tandoor wasn't that good it just wasn't good. The sweets were definitely the best of the whole thing. Gulabjamun and Jaleebis were great. The atmosphere wasn't the best, it smelled slightly unpleasant. I would just buy the sweets again.

They have a decent vegan menu and a huge vegetarian one. Usually tofu dishes don’t *wow* me, but it was good. It’s affordable too. The food also came very quickly. Would recommend!

Nice place, amazing atmosphere. You will get a bunch of options from veg to non-veg, south to north, even a separate counter for Indian sweets.

I was visiting Berlin and we decided on the Anand restaurant. It was incredibly delicious. Especially for me as a vegan, there couldn't have been a better selection. The service was great, I liked the decor and the toilets were clean. The music was also appropriate and beautiful.

We ordered the masala dosa and it was a sad and disappointing masala dosa (we only ate it cuz we were paying for it).The only thing that was good was the potato filling. The chutney was literally coconut milk with tempering (did not taste good, maybe it was a shortcut than making a real chutney). The sambar also had a sour aftertaste. Overall do not recommend the dosa but they may have better North Indian food. Service and atmosphere was good.

Finally eating Indian food again. Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity very often. The large selection of dishes made it a bit difficult, but I quickly decided (for my standards) on the "chilli chicken", which was advertised as very spicy. The spiciness was great for me. It was spicy, but not so overpowering that you couldn't taste anything. And that's fortunate, because the taste was also very good apart from the spiciness. I got full and luckily didn't have any long-term effects because of the spiciness 😉. The music was pleasantly Indian/modern. The only thing that wasn't great was the table that was initially offered near the entrance door, as it was quite drafty. Thank God there wasn't anything free further back.

I had been there to try out dosas. They aren't good at dosas. They provide only sambar and one chutney as side dish. Coconut chutney was cold and oil smell from chutney was really annoying. So, I had left only with sambar. I felt even that was from the fridge. Not really fresh. And it was too sweet. Mine was a masala dosa. The masala was like from the samosas. It's not apt for a masala dosa. If you are going to try this restaurant for dosas, I would recommend not to try.

Today i went anand resturant but we don't like it because i ordered dosa and punjabi thali but dosa's taste not good and not proper cooked and thali was also taste not good. Plates was cold, wifi not working, we came from Munich but the service was good .NO PARK availbe.

We found this place via the Find Me Gluten Free app, and we weren't disappointed!! The food itself was absolutely amazing and the staff were very helpful with explaining what my coeliac partner could and couldn't have from the menu. We would happily return for more of the same.

Best authentic Indian food in the city

We had reserved a table. My impression was that since something was free, people weren't interested in it. The reference to the buffet was mumbled incomprehensibly when the card was handed over. We ate a la carte. The buffet seemed small to us. Food was very tasty. However, after a few bites it was spicy, which wasn't what was on the menu. For me the service could have been more attentive. For drinks we would have to look for the waitress. There was no question as to whether it was tasty and there was no invoice, no proof of payment after card payment and no question as to whether this was needed.

I think the food was very tasty, especially the curry sauce and the chicken was very tasty. You can also eat vegetarian food very well, my mother was enthusiastic about the tofu dish. There were also large portions.

Great place for buffet and chaat in Berlin! Located in the middle of the city with ample seating, great staff and lip smacking food, the restaurant is value for money in berlin and the owner and his daughter are super friendly! Will come to berlin just for Anand ka khana again! Must try their paneer parathas, buffet and chole samosa.

**Not recommended – Overpriced and disappointing!** I bought an Indian sweet (Pink Rasgulla filled) from this restaurant and was absolutely disappointed. The quality was poor and the price was way too high. In the restaurant the goods are supposedly offered fresh, which was not the case! In a normal Indian shop I get the sweets **fresher** and **cheaper**, even though they are packaged there. Here it was just a **rip**. The taste was old and stale - definitely not what you would expect from an Indian restaurant. I cannot recommend anyone to buy candy here as it is a **brazen** rip-off. Very disappointing!

If you want to eat rice in Berlin, you really need to find an Indian restaurant. It’s not expensive and there are many of them.

We didn't have a good experience here. Came here after seeing good reviews and rating. We waited excruciatingly long for our food while a lot of people ordered after us got their food. The taste was not worth the wait. Also, we didn't get the food we ordered as well. Our evening was kind of spoiled. Never again(!) and not recommending :)

We drove so far here with great excitement because the daughter and father post so many advertisements about their shop and the food. When we arrived, neither of them were there, there were two ladies serving us, one lady really didn't feel like serving and brought the food over like that, so eat it now. Have a good appetite or if you enjoyed it, would you like anything else, NOTHING AT ALL. Unfortunately the food wasn't tasty, I was hoping for much more. THE BOSS has to look after his staff, or at least stay in the house. We took Rassmalai home with us, the next day I wanted to eat it and it was SOUR. I learned from this visit that when people advertise their business, it doesn't seem like it is. They've made their money, they don't care about anything else. This is a tourist trap.

If you are craving for Parathas...this is the best place in town..the motichur laddoo is also pretty good for dessert.

I saw your so many videos on Tik tok and thought to give a try. 5 of us come from Köln to vist berlin and went this restaurant last Saturday for Buffet lunch [17 euro]. The food was not fresh at all. Tandori Chicken masala <if remember the name correct >was old. Mix veg more zucchini then Panner or any other veg. Smasa te pakro v old c refried Jalbi like left over they put in Buffet. Nan te Butery were fresh Serice is very good. It's an avrage restaurant
