Ambrosia is a Greek restaurant exactly as you'd imagine a Greek restaurant to be. Tastefully decorated, with Greek music, a large indoor area and a room that can be rented, and of course, an outdoor seating area. No matter where you sit, you won't notice the main street. The food is wonderful; my personal recommendation is anything, as long as it's with Metaxa sauce. Unfortunately, our favorite dish hasn't been on the menu for years, but they still make it for us upon request. The staff is very friendly, and the Greek owner is usually there to check on things and greet his regulars. This is probably also the reason why the ambiance, quality of the food, and quality of the service have never declined over the years and reliably remain at a high level. I am a regular guest, both with business partners and privately. I can only recommend the restaurant; I've never had a bad experience here. I've always been very full, in a good mood, and extremely satisfied when I leave Ambrosia. Usually slightly drunk, so you should definitely decide beforehand who is driving.

As always, thrilled! Today I was here with my colleagues. Everyone was more than satisfied. We were served several ouzos without asking and free of charge. The food was excellent, as I often had before, I had the “baked everything”, then the Greek yoghurt… simply delicious!!! I always enjoy coming back and I’m sure some of my colleagues do too 😅😋

We were at Ambrosia for the first time today and we were thrilled. The food, we had starters and main courses, was without exception very tasty. We received a very friendly welcome, the boss and all the service staff were very attentive and friendly. The ambience is right. We would give it six out of five stars. If we visit Leipzig again, we'll be happy to come back!

We had a wonderful visit to Ambrosia! The food was not only very tasty, but also plentiful - no one leaves the restaurant hungry. The selection was large and the dishes were fresh and prepared with a lot of love. The service was great – attentive, friendly and always concerned about our well-being. We've eaten there several times. The staff is always friendly. The food is extensive and we enjoy it very much. They also serve delicious ouzo or other drinks. There's a lovely outdoor seating area that's surprisingly quiet and cozy. We'll be back.

Good Greek restaurant with a wide range of dishes and attentive staff, good food quality, for those who don't have too high of expectations. High noise levels and an interior that is not exactly typical for Greece accompany a visit there.

We celebrated New Year's Eve and it was very nice. Very nice staff, great fireworks and delicious food.

We were here a few days ago with my in-laws to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary, we were greeted like old friends even though it was our first time here...thumbs up for that. The food was rich and very tasty, all the staff and the landlord personally are very attentive, friendly and service-oriented. The star deduction for the ambience is because there was unfortunately not a bit of decoration on the table, even though we pointed out when making the reservation that it was a silver wedding anniversary.

I had baked chicken in Metaxa sauce. The chicken was cooked on the grill and then placed in the sauce. That made it somehow bitter. My son's fries were unsalted. We like to eat at Greek restaurants, but not here anymore.

It has become catastrophic, the restaurant probably has a new owner, the food is overpriced and served cold... The service staff are listless and have not responded to the customer's wishes. I would avoid this atmosphere!!!

A wonderful place filled with Mediterranean warmth and hospitality. A Greek restaurant run by Greek people serving proper Greek food. Mousaka is excellent but remember to leave room for yoghurt with honey. Finish with a Tsipouro for the true Greek experience.

It was a very pleasant evening. The employees and the boss are all very friendly and super fast. The food tasted great. The portions could have been a little larger, but if you want good quality you can't expect mountains of food. From my point of view, it is also positive that there was no clichéd Greek music playing in the background.

Always happy. The dear Greeks are always friendly. But you feel really comfortable in this restaurant. Super friendly, respond to special requests without complaining. Although it is not explicitly requested. Always a smile, although sometimes quite stressful. We don't mind waiting a little longer at weddings. But here it almost doesn't happen at all. Not too fast but not too long either. We would like to come more often if our scale would allow it 😉 and also an extra thank you for always allowing us to bring our dog grandma with us. You feel really welcome here (even with children). Service was great, including a really good mood, food was super tasty (recommendation of the vegetarian starters if you don't feel like eating meat dishes). Atmosphere great. Thanks to the friendly waiters, you can also start a conversation with the neighboring table. We were there twice and will be back. Go!!!

I ordered an Americano. The waiter asks "what is that?" 🤦 I say - coffee. He brings me "coffee", which tasted like it came from a puddle... (The instant coffee from the machine at the university clinic tastes better). I still paid for it, but didn't drink it, just left it. He didn't get a tip either, sorry!

Drinks were repeatedly forgotten to be brought to the table.

Hello reader, unfortunately ordered food there. Far too little for €18. A tablespoon of rice and 10 fries, the meat and the sauce added to the bad taste experience. I'll avoid it here. Maybe it's better in a restaurant if you can look the waiter in the eye.

Delicious food, great ouzo ;-), attentive staff

The food was good. Good price-performance ratio. Tzaziki was a little more expensive, but very tasty, high quality and plentiful. We had to ask for a receipt and wait a little longer for it. At home we discovered that the bottle of wine had not been priced into the cash register. Another dish appeared on our receipt. If you added the price difference of the wine bottle to the dish, the difference was 0.60 euros to our disadvantage. We can't say whether the tax has been avoided here; some people don't ask for a receipt. You should always get a receipt and check it on site.

From the outside it looks a bit inconspicuous and often empty (at least when we're past), but that's deceptive. Absolutely delicious food, incredibly friendly and courteous service. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back. :-) You can sit inside and outside, we had a table outside. Despite being close to the S-Bahn and Prager Str., the backyard is very quiet and almost idyllic. I can only recommend Ambrosia. :-)

Super delicious Greek restaurant, locals come here all the time! Great starters, lots of garlic if you want it and in addition to the classics there are also a few authentic dishes that are not available elsewhere. Service was friendly throughout, highly recommended.

nice Italian restaurant that is attached to the Boulevard Hotel. There is also an ice cream parlor. Food was very tasty, there was linguini with shrimps. It was just a shame that there weren't more parasols outside, even though there were still stands for them. We would also have liked to sit outside, but not in the blazing sun.

The restaurant is located beneath the Jahrhunderthotel, making it a convenient option to visit if you’re staying there, as we did. A nice place in itself but the food was just terrible! The waitress seemed very uninterested in me and my family and therefore didn't give a good impression. The son is also just below the belt!! Conclusion: There is definitely potential for good guest cities if the review is taken to heart

A few years ago I would have given this 5 points without hesitation. The welcome and hospitality has been unsurpassed for years. Only when it comes to taste, Ambrosia can no longer hold a candle to other Greeks in Leipzig. We were guests here several times a year for over 10 years. Then we changed and tried again this week. It just tastes too mediocre for us. It's a shame, we would have liked to become regular guests again. Update February 2024: We ate here again from time to time. The quality has improved significantly again and we enjoy coming here again.

Today I was at Ambrosia again, I ate a delicious farmer's salad and drank a good red wine with it. I was very satisfied, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The prices are the same as last year. Highly recommended.

Today, after a really long time, we had the spontaneous idea to go out for a Greek meal at AMBROSIA again for the four of us. We were greeted absolutely warmly, by the service and also by Theo (owner), as if we had only been there yesterday. It was surprisingly full for a Thursday, but we were given a very nice table where our Labi could lie in peace. The service was absolutely great, very friendly, but not "pretentious", the food was impeccable, we all enjoyed it very much, drinks were ok, water for our lab was available even without asking. All in all, we felt very comfortable, were served very well and had a very nice evening. THANKS to Theo and his team. You are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and we will definitely be back‼️💯🚀👍

After our first visit today we were more than thrilled. We made reservations as a precaution, but there were still enough places available. The delicious food (I had beef liver for the first time) and the beautiful ambience invited you to linger. Not to forget the attentive waiter. We felt completely comfortable.

Great, nothing was a lie. From the moment you enter, you get a warm feeling from the behavior of the staff. Friendly and attentive. Same drink on the house. Ich gehe seit Jahren sehr gerne hin! Das Personal war bisher immer ausnahmslos freundlich. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich - da stimmt vieles von der Beleuchtung, über die Verteilung der Plätze (..dass man nicht geknubbelt sitzt) bis hin zur dezenten griechischen Musik im Hintergrund. So stelle ich mir ein gemütliches Abendessen in einem griechischen Restaurant vor! Auch schon dort zum Geburtstag gegessen und vom Chef persönlich eine Flasche Wein auf's Haus bekommen! Spitze! :) Das Essen ist für die moderaten Preise absolut top! Man darf keine mega großen Portionen erwarten, aber man muss sich ja nicht immer "überfressen" :) Wer danach gerne einen Verdauungsspaziergang am Völkerschlachtdenkmal machen möchte, hat es natürlich auch nicht weit!

Es war einfach Super! Mit Bus, S-Bahn und Straßenbahn ist das Restaurant sehr gut angebunden. Parkplätze gibt es reichlich in der Günzstraße nebenan. 3 min. Fußweg über die S-Bahnbrücke. Wir waren mit einer großen Gruppe im Restaurant Ambrosia und wurden super herzlich empfangen. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und unterhaltsam -typisch griechisch- einfach Klasse! „Γεια σου! τι κάνεις φίλε?“ 😉 Das Ambrosia hat eine sehr umfangreiche Speisekarte, so wie man sie vom Griechen kennt und die Speisen waren alle sehr reichlich und lecker 😋. „πολύ καλά!!“ Wir waren alle sehr begeistert und kommen sehr gerne wieder. „Ευχαριστώ πολύ!!“

Ich bin total begeistert, war heute mit der Familie da und wir hatten einen wirklich schönen Abend, Essen lecker, auch für „große Jungs“ gut ausreichende Portionen 😉, das Personal super freundlich, das hübsche Ambiente sollte auch erwähnt werden - da fühlt frau sich sehr wohl und kommt gerne wieder - vielen Dank ans Team dafür 🤗

Wir waren Weihnachten hier zum Mittagessen. Und obwohl das Restaurant gut gefüllt war, ging der Service flott, mussten nicht zu lang auf das Essen warten. Und es war superlecker.

Es ist eine richtig gute authentische griechische Taverne Mitten in Leipzig .

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und der Service freundlich und sehr aufmerksam.

Sehr zufrieden, vor allem der junge charmante Kellner ist sehr entzückend und wir freuen uns immer wieder als Stammgäste hier aufzutauchen.

Waren gestern Abend - nach vorherigem kurzen Anruf - spontan dort. Zum ersten Mal, im Außenbereich einen schönen Tisch bekommen und wir waren sehr angetan. Äußerst freundliches Personal, sehr leckeres Essen und wirklich preiswert. So hungrig wie wir waren, haben wir keine Fotos gemacht. Aber das holen wir definitiv bald 😉 nach. Denn wir kommen garantiert wieder. Und wir warn heute wieder da... War gut besucht und entsprechend laut, Essen und Service aber wieder top!
