Orpheus in Leipzig

For some time now, this has been our go-to restaurant in the neighborhood, and we've never been disappointed. Super friendly, warm service, delicious Greek and Georgian food. My husband has loved Georgian cuisine ever since a vacation in Georgia. The khinkali are always freshly prepared and simply the best in town. For us, it's a little oasis amidst the trendy restaurants of the southern suburbs, refreshingly down-to-earth and simply cozy, with everything you'd expect from a typical Greek restaurant. We'll definitely be back.

We ate here again after a long time. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that it's not what it used to be. We usually got an ouzo and a salad before the meal, but that wasn't the case yesterday. I was really disappointed. And we don't even need to talk about the price... everything's getting more expensive. Despite everything, I can still recommend the restaurant. It's cozy and the staff is friendly and nice.

The Orpheus offers its guests excellent Greek and outstanding Georgian cuisine. The service is prompt and helpful. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. We will be happy to return.

Very friendly and helpful staff, delicious food; would gladly return anytime

Food: Super delicious, albeit quite expensive. The selection, especially the Georgian dishes, was very interesting and worth trying. :D Service: Very friendly and personable. They gave brief instructions on how to eat the dishes, which made the whole experience feel very authentic. We spontaneously visited on a Wednesday evening. It wasn't busy, but we still waited quite a while for our appetizers. Atmosphere: Beautiful interior, with lots of nooks and crannies so you're not overly distracted by other people's conversations. The music was a bit loud at times. As I walked by, I noticed a small play area for children :) All in all, a (albeit expensive) fantastic, authentic culinary experience.

An absolute highlight! We ate at the Orpheus restaurant and were absolutely thrilled. The fish was incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared – you can simply taste the quality and attention to detail. The side dishes were also typically Greek and very delicious. The staff was super friendly and attentive; we felt completely at home. We will definitely be back! Absolutely recommended for anyone who loves good fish and Greek cuisine!

I was absolutely delighted with my visit to Orpheus Restaurant! This lovingly designed interior, the Greek music in the background and a warm welcome made me feel welcome. Particularly noteworthy are the creamy tzatziki, the tender salmon fillet and the excellently seasoned moussaka. The service also left nothing to be desired. Highly recommended, I would love to come back!

There were only two of us and we still got the dishes wrong. Very disappointing for the high prices! We won't come again.

We chose the Georgian menu and that was a mistake, at least in terms of price/performance. 18.90€ for unfortunately very dry chicken and shashik, quite bleakly prepared... However, the vegetables are highly recommended and were our highlight to share... The starters come without bread and the ambience is mediocre. Still friendly waiter and good schnapps.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant at all. We had to wait an hour and a half for our food, and even the starters came way too late. We didn't like the Georgian food at all, which was really disappointing. The service was also very poor, inattentive and slow. Overall it was a very disappointing experience and we will definitely never go there again.

Sehr gemütliche Gaststätte mit nettem Personal-Essen schmeckt immer super! Wir besuchen diese Gaststätte so oft, wie möglich.

Absolutely fantastic cuisine. Georgia and Greece shake hands, there was something from both worlds. An exciting mix. We were particularly impressed by the warm and friendly manner, the quality of the dishes was great and we will definitely come back. Only the ambience wasn't 100% for us, at least when you sit in the first room to the left of the entrance. There is a small corner for children, the toilets are not barrier-free.

Food tasted freshly prepared but it was disappointing that no salad plate was served as usual at Greek restaurants.

Tucked away off Karli Street is a real insider tip. The restaurant's ambiance is very appealing and beautifully designed, the service is outstanding, and the food is excellent. The value for money is also very good. Definitely worth a visit.

Wir kommen/kamen seit vielen Jahren 2-3x pro Jahr zum Essen hierher. Die Preise für Speisen und Getränke sind allerdings deutlich nach oben gegangen und für das was geboten wird, nicht gerechtfertigt. Ouzo hin oder her - auf den könnten einige Gäste wahrscheinlich am ehesten verzichten. Wir hatten einen Tisch zum Abendessen bestellt. Der Kellner, der seit vielen Jahren bei Orpheus arbeitet, war freundlich und bemüht, deshalb 2 Sterne. Alles dauerte lange. Das Essen kam kleckerweise. Gemeinsam essen war nicht möglich. Dinge, die wir gerne zusammen gegessen hätten, kamen getrennt. Damit gab es Pommes zum "Nachtisch". Als die Ersten fertig waren, kam das letzte Essen. Bei einem Gericht fehlte die Beilage, die nachgereicht wurde als das Fleisch lauwarm war. Wir beschwerten uns, es kam eine Entschuldigung und die Frage, ob wir Kaffee, Ouzo oder ein Dessert haben möchten. Da hatten wir noch nicht mal alle bestellten Speisen. Gäste am Tisch neben uns kamen später, bestellten eher, hatten ihr Essen deutlich schneller (zusammen). Geschmacklich war es insgesamt nichts Besonderes. Wie oben erwähnt, zum reinen Sattwerden definitiv zu teuer. Personalmangel? Für uns als Gäste nicht offensichtlich. Vielleicht in der Küche? Eine ältere Dame mit starrem Gesichtsausdruck, die die Gäste weder willkommen hieß noch verabschiedet, stand in der Nähe der Bar. An der Bar waren zwei jüngere Personen mehr oder weniger beschäftigt. Eventuell wäre es besser, die Tischreservierungen (wieder) zu koordinieren und die Gäste zu verteilen, wenn die Küche es anders nicht schafft!? Schade, wir hatten das Restaurant öfter weiterempfohlen, aber nun werden wir uns etwas anders suchen.

I absolutely love my recent visit to this restaurant! The restaurant recently started offering Georgian food - and that was a fantastic surprise! The new dishes add exciting variety and are authentic and delicious. If you are looking for a culinary journey, you should definitely visit this restaurant. Highly recommended!

I was here with friends on Sunday evening. We were served very friendly and very attentively. The food was excellent - very tasty and plentiful too. Can be highly recommended.

We are extremely grateful that Greek cuisine was recommended to us. The service and quality fully correspond to its price, in my opinion even a bit cheap compared to other restaurateurs. Thanks to the family atmosphere, we can recommend the restaurant to you with a clear conscience.

There are still complainers who believe...stinginess is cool...please complain to the Red Green Army faction because they are leading our country into the abyss.

Charming restaurant!! Definitely gets 5/5 stars. The food tastes fabulous and the waiters are super friendly. The chef 1a!! Can only be recommended.

Service good. Menu far too expensive for the quality. There are far better Greek restaurants. But the great thing is that we ordered croquettes instead of rice and still had to pay for them as a side dish on the bill. I don't know of any restaurants, and I don't know any of the Greeks at all. In short, never again.

Good Greek Food and service were good.

An absolute must if you love Greek food! We were there as a small group with a friend who has Greek roots herself, so we had an "expert" with us. A super nice atmosphere, incredibly delicious food, and the service was beyond excellent! Thank you for a lovely evening, we'll be back!

We sat on the very comfortable patio and had a lovely time. Very nice service and very good, authentic Greek food. Gladly again!! Of course there was also ouzo :)

A great Greek. Pleasant service who stops by the table at good intervals and asks if everything is OK. Beautiful outdoor space. We only saw the interior on the way to the toilet, but it was also very nicely designed. Toilets very clean. But now to the most important thing, the food. As usual for a good Greek, there is plenty on the plate. Unfortunately I didn't finish my portion of gyros. It was soooo tasty, but nothing went into my stomach :-) Garlic pita first was a delight. Prices are reasonable, especially for the portion. The gyro plate came around 19 euros. The only thing I was a little shocked about was the drink prices. Over 5 euros for a 0.4 l soft drink. With a family of 4, you can just get rid of a 20er and still have nothing in your stomach. But that's just how it is today with all the prices and taxes that a restaurant has to pay. Dear Orpheus team, thank you for the great evening - we'll be back.

We come to Orpheus regularly. Very tasty food and always in a good mood, friendly staff. Absolutely recommended!

I was absolutely thrilled. The atmosphere is great, the service is quick, funny and courteous. We were served ouzo twice. In classic Greek style there was a salad plate at the front. The portions are generous, the meat is tender and everything is really tasty. What's stupid for me as a liver hater is that almost all of the records have this liver on it.

There were four of us who reserved 1 table. The starters we chose were delicious. Our main courses too. We paid 165 euros. You can't go out to eat every week anymore...

The food is ok, but not something that we would eat there again. Starter was calamari which was very good. For main courses we had a gyros plate and a platter. There was a piece of liver on the plate that was pretty tough. The gyros had virtually no roasted aroma on both plates. We were worried that some pieces of meat might not be completely cooked through. I had chosen fried potatoes with garlic as a side dish instead of the tomato rice at an additional cost. They were basically round fries with pieces of garlic. I could have ordered fries straight away (at no extra charge). Service was friendly and good so far. The store was full and so there were long waiting times. Overall, there is no relationship between price and performance. You can eat better and cheaper than in Orpheus.

Immer leckeres Essen - absolute Empfehlung

Guten Abend liebe Mitleser. Ich bin seit der Eröffnung ein Stammgast im Orpheus. Heute habe ich mir einmal angesehen, was die Gäste so schreiben. Bedingt durch das einsetzende Gewitter sind wir schon zu Hause, da habe ich ein bissel Zeit. Für mich ist dieser Grieche so eine richtige gemütliche Kiezkneipe :-). Es ist hier sehr familiär, einfach zum wohlfühlen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und der Service klappt ausgezeichnet. Natürlich gibt es Wartezeiten! Alle Menschen beführworten den Mindestlohn, fragen aber nicht woher das Geld kommt! Die gestiegenen Preise für Energie, Ware und Personal scheinen einige nicht verstanden zu haben! Wenn ein (Philipp Müller) behauptet, er kann für den Preis von unter 50 Euro für Getränk, Vorspeise und Hauptgericht "bei anderen Griechen" für zwei Personen essen gehen, dann würde mich interessieren, wo dieser Grieche ist!? Auf Rhodos? Im Aktionsregal eines Discounters? Was stimmt mit dem Mann nicht? Mensch Leute, freute Euch doch über die noch vorhandenen Gaststätten! Ja, für den Preis von einem Glas Bier bekomme ich sicher 10 Dosen bei Lidl. Aber das ist es doch nicht! Alle wollen nur billig, billig, billig und maximale Leistung. Ich hatte in den vergangenen Jahren sicher auch schon etwas zu bemängeln. Aber dann war es höchstens eine Kleinigkeit. Es gibt nichts, was ein freundliches Wort und ein Ouzo nicht wieder gerade rückt! Hört auf mit diesem deutschen Gejammer auf höchstem Niveau! Freut Euch auf diesen Griechen! Ach ja, Herr Ph. Müller: der Aufpreis für die Knoblauchkartoffeln steht übrigens in der Karte! Wer lesen kann, ist klar im Vorteil :-) Ich war heute mit meiner Tochter sehr zufrieden und wir kommen natürlich in kürze wieder. Gerade heute war die sympathische und sehr freundliche junge Dame ganz allein im Service. Bedienen, abräumen, Getränke.... Alles allein im voll besetzten Lokal! Einige sollten mal ihr hohes Roß verlassen und vielleicht mal eine Woche dort als Aushilfe arbeiten!?! Kann eine heilende Wirkung haben. Von mir alle Daumen (und die großen Zehen) hoch, bester Grieche in weiter Umgegend. Netter Chef, flinke Bedienung(en) Vielen Dank an das Team vom Orpheus, auch in der Küche :-)

Wir haben leider sehr lange auf das Essen warten müssen - jedoch haben sie sich bestimmt 4mal bei uns entschuldigt dafür und Ouzo gebracht. Für mich ok, das kann ja mal passieren. Das Essen war dafür sehr sehr lecker. Die Kellner waren sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Aber: wenn es hier einen Stern für „Preise“ geben würde, könnte ich leider nur einen Stern von 5 vergeben. Es gibt kaum noch eine Hauptspeise unter 20€! Fladenbrot, wo es vier kleine Stücke gibt für 4,20€, also das ist dann doch etwas zu übertrieben. So teuer sind Mehl und co. nun auch wieder nicht! Auch wenn es lecker war, nee danke, das Geld spare ich lieber und fahre dafür in den Urlaub. Da habe ich mehr davon.

Das Essen hat nachgelassen , ist nicht mehr allzu gut, die Gerichte in Metaxasoße. Grillspezialitäten sind aber zu empfehlen

Sehr leckeres Griechisches Essen. Es war frisch zubereitet, das Brot war sogar selbst gebacken. Zum Vergleich anderer griechischer Restaurants in Deutschland 10 Sterne. Nicht so ein Einheitsbrei wir bei den meisten Griechen.

Excellent service and excellent food! It’s definitely one of the best Greek restaurants in Leipzig! Apart from the typical Greek food choice like gyros and so on I would recommend the lamb chops I added a picture of. They make them like you would eat them in Greece or Spain. The portions are very generous, so whatever you order will come with one or two side dishes and are definitely enough.

Wir haben gestern einen sehr schönen Abend mit 17 Personen als Geburtstagsfeier dort verbracht. Wir hatten einen extra Raum, der sehr gemütlich war und wo alle genügend Platz hatten, die Tischdecke und der Raum haben 25€ gekostet, was aber für den Raum vollkommen ok ist. Getränke und Essen kamen alle schnell und gleichzeitig. Wir hatten ein falsches Essen, es wurde sofort korrigiert und das richtige gebracht, ohne das man etwas sagen musste. Der Service und das Essen waren top. Wir sind in dem Restaurant regelmäßig und noch nie enttäuscht gewesen, da auch bei Missverständnissen stets der Gast nicht dafür verantwortlich gemacht wird. Die Preise sind vollkommen ok für die Qualität. Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal.

Bifteki kann man hier nur weiterempfehlen. Sehr lecker. 👍

Leckeres Essen und guter Service. Wir kommen immer wieder gern zum Essen. Die Preise haben etwas angezogen, aber die Portionen sind reichlich. Reste kann man einpacken lassen, so dass man ggf. Aug am nächsten Tag noch profitieren kann.

Es war sooo lecker. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich! Schöne Ambiente. Wir hatten Geburtstagsfeier mit 18 Personen. Es war alles sehr gut organisiert.

Sehr schön verwinkelt, dadurch schallt es nicht so. Wenn wir in Leipzig zu Besuch sind,dann gehen wir immer dahin. Parken ist etwas schlecht 😕. Aber sonst super 👍

Schönes Ambiente, man spürt die Herzlichkeit eines Familienunternehmens. Und das Essen hat auch super geschmeckt.

Nettes griechisches Restaurant.

Essen nicht wirklich schlecht aber auch nicht wirklich gut. Bedienung ist ebenfalls so zu bewerten, wie auch das Ambiente. Manche Dinge auf der Karte waren an einem Freitag Abend nicht vorrätig. Ist meiner Meinung nach für Leute die dort in der Nähe wohnen und mal zum Griechen gehen wollen okay, aber für eine weitere Anreise und nervige Parkplatzsuche nicht zu empfehlen.

Es war sehr voll und so wurde uns zu Anfang ein Ouzo zur Überbrückung der Wartezeit serviert. Der gemischte Vorspeisenteller kam dann doch sehr schnell und bestand aus verschiedenen Dips, Gemüsen und Salaten. Gyros mit Metaxasauce überbacken war ebenfalls sehr lecker. Der rosa Retsina war von guter Qualität und wurde in schönen Gläsern serviert. Der Service war sehr freundlich!

Am 9.4.20 um 18 Uhr angerufen um telefonisch zu bestellen . Ich fragte ob auch nach Mockau geliefert wird erst nein dann doch ja da er 20 Uhr nach Mockau fährt . Bestellung wurde aufgenommen das fanden wir noch nett aber als 20.50 Uhr noch kei Essen geliefert wurde rief ich an um nachzufragen es wurde uns gesagt es komme in 8 bis 10 Minuten !! Ich fragte ob es auch wirklich geliefert wird es kam ein Ja wir sind gleich da !! 21.30 Uhr war noch kein Essen da also riefen wir nochmals an und es wurde gefragt ob Sie auch morgen liefern können !? Wir dachten wir sind im falschen Film und bestellten alles ab . Wenn man nicht liefern möchte oder es nicht nötig hat gerade in der momentanen Krise da sollte man es doch lassen Oder ! Uns wird dieser Grieche in seinem Laden niemals sehen !!!! Ein sehr schlechter Service

Gepflegtes Resteraunt mit schlechter Küche. Das Essen war bei allen 8 Personen nicht gut! Weinblätter mit Sauce Hollandaise, versalze Pepperonies, das Fleisch war bei allen recht trocken,... Das Personal ist recht freundlich gewesen und essen kam auch sehr schnell, aber aufgrund der Qualität des Essens, ist das Restaurant nicht zu empfehlen!

Das Restaurant befindet sich in einem Kellergeschoss und ist sehr gemütlich. Die Einrichtung ist sehr einladend. Es gibt sogar eine Spielecke für Kinder. Es war sehr gut besucht. Es ist empfohlen, vorher zu reservieren. Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Die Wartezeit ist angemessen. Sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung.

essen: das essen war absolut top! wir hatten einige grillteller bestellt (u.a. ouzo teller) und zusätzlich 3 lammkottlet. die lammkottlet waren sehr zart und sehr sehr lecker! service: super service. preis-/leistungsverhältnis: sehr gut. wir waren zu viert, haben 5 große gerichte und getränke bestellt, für 90€ inkl. trinkgeld
