Ambiente Africa is a stylish African restaurant with very friendly service. The decor is traditional African, with areas filled with sand and cushions on the floor. The menu has something for everyone, from mild to spicy, with meat and vegetarian. Unusual dishes such as ostrich and crocodile can also be ordered. The banana and mango beer (contains gluten) is highly recommended.

We loved our dinner experience. Totally authentic. They even had African sand inside the restaurant, totally unexpected and authentic touch. We ordered their signature cocktail kotoko, it was delish. We highly recommend that. For the food, we ordered the following items: 1. African Safari - lamb with injera - delish 2. Veggie mixed plate - yummy Definitely recommend this spot for dinner.

So, after we've been here several times, I've finally gotten around to writing a short report. Reservation: The reservation went smoothly. Messages on the answering machine were responded to quickly and friendly. The restaurant: A beautifully decorated restaurant, even if we prefer to sit outside when the weather is nice. You sit right on the sidewalk, which isn't too wide, but it's still very comfortable. Service: Super friendly and quick even when the restaurant is full. The food: Great, we ate our way through various dishes, sample platters, etc. and were very satisfied. Our kids especially like the non-alcoholic cocktails. The prices are reasonable. Conclusion: we will definitely come back :)

I can definitely recommend this restaurant. It tastes something different. I really like the atmosphere. A little tight to sit on, but otherwise perfect. The service is also good.

My favorite African in Stuttgart. Nice place to go when you have visitors. The ambience is great, the cocktail happy hour is practical and the food is always delicious. Mixed Platter, Kitcha FitFit or No. 51! I can easily recommend everything I have ordered so far.

Simply wonderful and super delicious! We wanted to get to know a different cuisine in Stuttgart and then decided on Ambiente Africa. It was a really great decision. Where should you start or stop? The restaurant is beautifully designed, especially even covered with sand. The location is extremely beautiful. Let's get to the food: simply delicious. What I thought was great as a vegetarian is that there are also vegetarian dishes. In addition, the staff is so friendly and provides very professional information about the food.

Super delicious food, nice authentic atmosphere, even with a sandy floor, the service is very nice, it could have been a little quicker, but it was busy, so you have to be fair! The fried shrimp was particularly delicious

The food there tastes too good to be photographed! Never managed to take photos in time, but always walked out with a full stomach and happy taste receptors. Definitely worth a visit, but reserve in advance!

Something else! Different spices but familiar vegetables! New ways of preparation. The wine was so good that unfortunately I didn't get to try the beer!

Great ambiance, as the name implies, but the food is really incredible, too. Fresh, flavorful, and not too heavy. The injera is light and delicious.

Date of visit: 7 March 2024 Nice ambience as well as exceptional and authentic food. Menu was very extensive with lots to choose from (cocktails are great) and the staff were also lovely. Recommend making a reservation as it gets quite busy. Certainly one to add to the favourites list!

After many visits, I continue to be amazed by the menu selection, taste and service! It is definitely worth visiting this restaurant and is also worth a small detour! There is a generous selection of vegan dishes that are DELICIOUS!!! And really tasty non-alcoholic cocktails and a generally very interesting selection of drinks. Service is always courteous and friendly! You feel really comfortable. It would be ideal if we received a little more proactive advice, but that is complaining at a high level. The atmosphere is totally cozy and individual. A very special place! The walls are covered with African wax print fabrics, warm light sources and sand instead of carpet. However, I can't say anything about the meat dishes. My girlfriend ordered lamb and couldn't eat it. She didn't like the taste of the lamb, maybe it's more of an individual problem. As a former meat eater, I tried it and it was very chewy...I could barely chew it (and no, my teeth are well trained to chew 😉).

Unfortunately, the food was nothing special. I was missing the spices so it was very bland. Disproportionately spicy (No. 47). Wasn't mentioned on the menu, like many other dishes. There are some exotics on the map.

Very tasty traditional Eritrean food. Perfectly seasoned. Lots of vegetarian options. Cool atmosphere, especially the meat dishes are priced a bit higher, but I think that's totally fine. The chicken was so tender and delicious, I have rarely eaten such good chicken. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Reservations by telephone are recommended.

Nice restaurant great first impression. I didn't eat anything myself because I went there with my sweetheart for Valentine's Day. My girlfriend's meal was beef with sweet potato and various vegetables. The meat was a dream, very tender and perfectly seasoned. It didn't take long for it to come fresh. The facility itself is very nice and it was really great to see something new there. We will come back, it is definitely nice and very cozy there As for the toilet, well... paper was empty, soap not that good either, could use more attention! We will be back definitely.

Four of us ate here on a Tuesday and can only confirm the positive reviews about the food. The furnishings are nice with sand and slightly darker lighting and contribute positively to the atmosphere. The service was good and courteous. From a later conversation we learned that it was her first day. She had a very successful evening! For a starter I had very tasty fried shrimp, which was served with two dips. For the main course I chose the medium-spicy "54. Babungo" (lamb flambéed in beer with vegetables and sweet potatoes). Most of the meat was very tender and fried medium. Overall, this dish was very tasty and flavorful. Next time I would probably go for the hot instead of medium hot. Also recommended is the "47th Tasting Platter..." that my companion had that evening. All in all, a very successful visit and definitely recommended!

Nice service, food ok, but not seasoned enough for me. In my opinion it is overpriced. I won't go there again, there are tastier African restaurants in Stuttgart.

Das Essen im Ambiente Afrika ist wirklich sehr lecker und frisch! Man kann verschiedene Schärfegrade aussuchen. Man kann bei den meisten Gerichten entscheiden, welches Fleisch man dazu essen möchte. Grundsätzlich gibt es Lamm, Hähnchen und Rind. Sie bieten aber auch exotisches Fleisch, wie Strauß, an. Auch das afrikanische Bier ist wirklich lecker! Man sollte in jedem Falle den Kaffee dort probieren. Das Lokal ist auf der einen Seite mit Sand aufgeschüttet. Sie bietet sogar traditionelle Sitzmöglichkeiten auf den Boden an. Außerdem ist sie im afrikanischen Stile eingerichtet. Es gibt leider eine Sache, die mir Missfallen hat. Beim Zahlen am Ende hieß es, dass keine Kartenzahlung möglich ist, aufgrund technischer Störungen des Gerätes. Es wäre hier von Vorteil das Ganze frühzeitig zu kommunizieren, damit man davon nicht überrascht wird. 3 von 5 Personen hatten kein Bargeld dabei. Service war in Ordnung. Ist weder besonders positiv herausgestochen noch besonders negativ aufgetreten. Sie haben sich Zeit gelassen mit der Aufnahme der Bestellung und der Aufmerksamkeit bei fehlenden Getränken oder sonstigen Nachbestellungen.

Wundervolles Restaurant mit zwei verschiedenen Bereichen einem klassischen Bereich mit Stühlen und Tischen und einen traditionellen Bereich in dem man auf dem Boden sitzt. Tolle Speisen und Getränke! Alles wird frisch zubereitet und braucht seine Zeit aber es lohnt sich! Man kann auch den Schärfegrad bestellen und ob alles auf eine Platte serviert werden sollen! Wir hatten einen wundervollen Abend und kommen wieder weitere Speisen zu probieren

I've been eating there since forever and their food never disappoints. I am not exposed to a lot of eritrean food, so I'm lacking comparison on how authentic it is, but it does taste great. And the restaurant is a lively place with a good atmosphere and super welcoming service.

Wunderschönes einzigartiges Ambiente. Selbst am Wochenende ist es Abends - trotz gut besuchtem Restaurant - problemlos möglich einen Tisch zu bekommen. Essen war sehr sehr gut, m.M.n. gibt es hier das Beste Injeera in Stuttgart zu absolut vernünftigen Preisen! Komme gerne wieder ✨

Wir sind extra von Heilbronn hergefahren, da wir nur Gutes gehört haben. Unsere Erwartungen wurden mehr als erfüllt. Tolles Ambiente, sehr freundlicher Empfang, nette Bedienungen, super Speisen... Wir hatten verschiedene Cocktails, Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte und konnten deshalb gegenseitig die Speisen ausprobieren. Fleisch war sehr gut zubereitet und nicht verkocht. Das Gemüse war teilweise (wo es sinnvoll erscheint) noch richtig schön knackig. Die verschiedenen Linsen waren auf den Punkt, jede einzelne Geschmacksnuance ist heraus zu schmecken. Die Cocktails und das afrikanische Bananenbier waren ebenfalls sehr lecker. Die Speisekarte bietet eine Vielzahl an Gerichten, auch vegetarisch. Da muss ich einfach nochmal hin. Ein dickes Lob an das gesamte Team des Ambiente Africa. Ich werde euch bestimmt weiter empfehlen.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Hatten die vegetarische Probierplatte mit Injera und Shiro (ein Kichererbsen-Gericht) mit Gari und beides hat gut geschmeckt. Schön, dass es auch Gari gibt, das findet man in Stuttgart ja nicht so häufig. Schön wäre es gewesen, wenn es die große Platte zum Teilen auch vegetarisch gäbe. Der Service war freundlich, nur gegen Ende des Abends hätte öfter jemand vorbeischauen können. Auf Google stand, dass bis Mitternacht offen ist, gegen 23 Uhr waren wir aber die letzten und es kam jemand, um auch bei uns abzukassieren. Wir waren sowieso bereit, zu gehen, also kein Problem für uns, aber ich weiß nicht, ob die Öffnungszeiten auf Google nicht stimmen oder es sich einfach so ergeben hat, dass alle schon weg waren und das Personal schließen wollte. Insgesamt war es ein schöner Abend und ich würde wiederkommen. Ich hatte in der Vergangenheit auch schon einmal zum Mitnehmen bestellt, auch da hatte geschmacklich alles gestimmt.

Richtig toll und mal was anderes. Essen super lecker, tolles Ambiente und nette Kellner was will man mehr.

A real gem of a restaurant: Good food, exceptional staff, and fun ambiance. Portion sizes are huge. The menu is great for adventurous eaters and some of the dishes can get moderately spicy (a rare find in Germany). Make reservations! I didn’t have reservations but the staff were able to squeeze me in, which I was very grateful for. Exotic meat platter was disappointing. Might be fun to do once, but the meats were pretty tough. The crocodile was particularly dry. Instead, do with what the staff recommends; I also ordered one of the lamb dishes on their suggestion and that was so, so good.

Sehr authentisches Lokal, mit sehr leckeren Speisen. Portionen sind ausreichend, Personal ist freundlich und zügig. Die Preise finde ich für das gebotene sehr fair! Es besteht die Möglichkeit, auf dem Boden im Sand zu sitzen, mir persönlich hat es gefallen. Reservieren ist denke ich immer ein Muss! Gerne wieder.

Die Location/ Ambiente war sehr gut. War nun schon zwei Mal dort und die Menschen sind jedes Mal nett. Das Essen ist leider etwas teuer, für die Menge, die man bekommt. Meine Begleitung und ich mussten uns danach nochmal etwas zu Essen holen, da uns die zwei Gerichte nicht gereicht haben. Die Cocktails dauern manchmal ein wenig und gleiche Cocktails sind unterschiedlich stark gemischt. Außerdem beinhalten sie sehr viel Eis, was sehr wenig zu trinken übrig lässt. Trotzdem komme ich sehr gerne wieder. :D

Auf jeden Fall sollte man hier reservieren. Zum Abend ist das Lokal sehr gut besucht. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und bekamen leider einen Tisch direkt am Eingang. Somit zog es jedes Mal wenn die Tür aufging. Die Aufnahme der Bestellung ging recht zügig. Unsere Gerichte fanden wir geschmacklich sehr gut gewürzt. Die Portionen waren in Ordnung. Die Preise liegen im oberen Bereich.

Sehr leckeres Essen und netter Service. Man kann entweder am Tisch oder im traditionellen Bereich auf dem Boden im Sand sitzen was auch seinen Charme hat passend zum Ambiente. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne her. Reservierung von Vorteil da doch seeeeehr gut besucht. Sehr lecker ist auch das Mangobier was ich so von keinem anderen Restaurant kenne.

Grosser Andrang, unbedingt reservieren. Trotzdem guter Service, freundliches Personal. Große Auswahl an afrikanischen Speisen. Geschma glich gut, allerdings gibt es Afrikawildfleisch nur noch bei einem sehr teuren Grillteller. Muss auch nicht sein, geht auch mit Lamm, Rind und Geflügel.

Gutes Essen, angenehme Umgebung, freundliches Personal

Ambiente PERFEKT Wir sind extra 200 km hingefahren und würden nicht enttäuscht. Der afrikanische Brunch wurde zum zweiten Mal durchgeführt und es schmeckt sehr gut, allerdings gibt es noch Optmierungs-Potential 😉😉😉. Wir haben dem super-freundlichen Personal empfohlen, die verschiedenen Speisen zu beschriften und den Schärfegrad zu notieren. Anmerkung: Die ostafrikaniscbe Küche lehnt sich der der indischen Küche an und ist daher manchmal (sehr) scharf. Unsere Hinweise wurden dankend angenommenen. Mal sehen, ob das beim nächsten Besuch beherzigt wurde. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder das AMBIENTE Africa besuchen, schon allein wegen der Atmosphäre 🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷.

Das Essen war der HAMMER!!! Es war war sooo lecker, dass wir noch MEHR essen wollten! Und wollten am liebsten am nächsten Tag direkt wieder hin! Der Service ist freundlich und hilfsbereit mit der Karte und der Beratung bezüglich Essensauswahl. Das Essen war frisch und sehr gut gewürzt. Das Ambiente war angenehm mit Sand im Eingangsbereich und Kerzenschein. Für mich war es ein Kurzurlaub in Afrika! Wir kommen schon SEHR BALD wieder, versprochen!!!

Unfassbar lecker, aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service, gemütliches und ansprechendes Ambiente, welches einen sofort in seinen Bann zieht. Zum ersten Mal hier, und ich werde auf jeden Fall bei jeder Gelegenheit wieder hier aufschlagen.

Ziemlich gutes und authentisches Essen. Super Ambiente! Leider hatte der Service an diesem Abend kein Bock auf uns. Wir wurden ständig vergessen und mussten daher immer wieder auf uns aufmerksam machen.

Fantastisches Essen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Leider war der Laden sehr dreckig auch die Sanktäranlagen sind in einem miserablen Zustand. Personal war eher Faul, man musste sich selbst melden denn der Mitarbeiter/ Inhaber sitzt nur am Tresen rum mit dem Rücken zu den Gästen. Zu den Speisen und deren Zubereitung konnte die Kellnerin mit Bauchfrei natürlich nichts sagen, wäre ja auch zuviel verlangt wenn man weis was denn die Küche so verwendet. Dann bringt man für Kinder mit Chili gewürztes Brot…. Sehr scharf und wir wurden gar nicht gefragt ob die das überhaupt essen wenn es scharf ist. Fleisch des Hauptgangs eher schlecht zubereitet, Kartoffel streifen waren fad und langweilig. Soße zur Hauptspeise war lecker aber schmeckte sehr indisch. Alles in allem für das Geld zu wenig. Schmutzig war der Laden in jeder Ecke, das hat nichts mit Afrika zu tun. Ich war dort schon mehrmals und so isst und sitzt man dort nicht. Schade aber leider keine Empfehlung wert.

Excellent reasonably priced food in a great setting. We sat on the street area outside of the restaurant as it was a lovely June evening. Food was excellent; coconut prawn soup and fried prawns were lovely for starters. Friendly and attentive service (and very patient as we knew little about African cuisine). Cocktails and beer all good. Highly recommend this place.

Enticing menu, with well-described dishes for those of us unfamiliar with East African cuisine. Highly recommend the coconut veg prawn soup and the fried shrimp starters. Tried various mains from the meat and speciality sections plus a S African wine. All delicious. Friendly and efficient service.

I didn’t realize I needed a reservation, but they took me in anyway. I really appreciate that, because I’ve been eyeing this place for a month. The food was excellent, I don’t remember what I had, so I’m going to make a reservation so I can take my time and do a better review. Food and drinks were awesome. The African beer was very tasty! They didn’t have the red snapper, but I’ll confirm for my next trip. I’m coming back with friends!!

Wir waren aus verschiedenen Richtungen angereist, um den Geburtstag unserer Töchter zu feiern und es wurde ein wunderschöner Abend. Wir hatten vier Gerichte bestellt, zwei mit Hühnchen und zwei Vegane, alle vier haben sehr unterschiedlich geschmeckt - und alle waren lecker! Die Cocktails waren ebenfalls prima :-).
