Yesterday we went to the “Alte Wache” restaurant, which a friend recommended to us. Unfortunately we didn't have a reservation, but after some hesitation we managed to get a table after being assured that we would quickly eat and leave. The restaurant is really nice and clean, and the fireplace looks very inviting and cozy. We expected to be in a special restaurant where there was real home cooking. When we opened the menu we were a little disappointed. The only “special” thing was a dish from the fireplace, but unfortunately this is only available for groups of four or more. The rest of the menu consists of the usual Croatian specialties Cevapcici, Raznjici etc. We're pretty spoiled when it comes to good food. In this regard, you could do a little more, incorporate a few more ideas, as well as the presentation of the records. The quality of the meat was very, very good, a little blandly seasoned, but that is of course a matter of taste... we would have liked more cevapcici than just 2 in total on the plate. The soup we ordered was very tasty and special, but unfortunately not quite hot. The bread served with it was a Highlight home-baked and totally fluffy. Conclusion: The food was tasty overall, but there is definitely room for improvement. It's really not meant in a bad way, it's just food for thought to maybe get a little more out of it, the basis is right, But it definitely has more potential :)

We were in the Alte Wache for the first time in November 2024. We made a reservation at short notice and got the last available table. The reception was very friendly and accommodating. The owner immediately brought the menu to our table. We ordered the grill plate "Grill". The food was excellent and very tasty. The meat was tender and juicy. The plate was beautifully presented to the eye. The decor and ambience are very nice and traditional. Please don't change it 👍. Upon request we were allowed to have the attached one. Take pictures A house specialty (Peka) is made in the open fireplace. Please pre-order. The restaurant quickly became full. Therefore a reservation is advisable. We definitely give it a 100% recommendation 😁 and give it a deserved 5 ⭐️. We will definitely come back.

one of the best restaurants I've ever been to! We were there in the early evening and sat in a corner that would be easy to forget to use, but without being intrusive, people always checked on us and asked if everything was OK and whether it tasted good - and not as a polite question ! We ordered a starter, main course and dessert and every single dish enchanted us. Please send my best regards to the kitchen team!! As a starter we had fried stone oven mushrooms (highly recommended!!) with a particularly delicious salty bread. For the main course we had cheese spaetzle and rump steak and for dessert we had lava cake (baked nice and fluffy) and pancakes. The service was also impeccable. No long waits for food and always friendly. The atmosphere is particularly inviting, especially when the oven is on. Unfortunately we are not from Stuttgart, but if the route leads to Stuttgart again, I would definitely come back.

With a dog and a grandchild in a stroller, we were genuinely welcomed. The service was not only attentive, but really warm. The food was great, highlighting the octopus and the fries, great. The hallumi cheese sauce…..a league of its own!! Very strong! Everything else was very tasty! Top service, we accidentally ordered wrong...waiter canceled and changed it even though it was already served! Respect! Always recommended again and again.

Ambiente, gut, aber Preisleistung fand ich nicht in Ordnung auch wenn die im Internet die Beurteilung nach schaut und die Bilder sehen gut aus an scheinend , wir haben den Grillteller bestellt für 25 € der auch im Internet empfohlen wird. Ich kann ihn nicht empfehlen. Für 25 € bekommt man glaube ich eine bessere Qualität und auch vom Preis ja noch mal ein Ticken mehr auf dem Teller Gerade die kroatische Küche ist daher sehr bekannt um Grillgerichte geht. Wir sind am Sonntag den 10.3.2024 um 20:20 Uhr dort im Restaurant gewesen. Sonntag machen die um 21:00 Uhr die Küche schon zu trotzdessen. Haben die eine Ausnahme gemacht und uns dann auch was gekocht, was ich auch ok finde. Die Getränke und Speisekarte ist in meinen Augen allgemein etwas teurer angesetzt . Würde nicht wieder vorbei kommen bei der „Alte Woche Bar“ natürlich ist es auch eine Ansichtssache, der eine dem reicht es dem anderen nicht ! Man sollte auch das Bild mal anschauen das sagt finde ich schon einiges.

Wir waren mit 8 Personen in der alten Wache um eine Spezialität des Hauses, „Peka“ zu probieren. Kalbfleisch mit Kartoffeln, stundenlang im offenen Kamin gegart und mit Gemüse serviert, super aromatisch und lecker. Der Service war trotz Ausfall zweier Mitarbeiter professionell und herzlich, obwohl der Laden wirklich voll war. Man merkte, dass man in einem Familienbetrieb ist. Wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt und sehr gut gegessen. Auch das Bier vom Fass, der empfohlene Hauswein, der Schnaps und nicht zuletzt der Espresso und der Nachtisch waren einfach sehr gut. Da hat alles gepasst, wir kommen gerne wieder, vielen Dank an das Team der alten Wache.

On Saturday March 2nd, 2024 we were with 8 people in the old guard to try one of the house specialties, “Peka”. Veal cooked for hours in the open fireplace and served with vegetables, super aromatic and delicious. Despite the absence of two employees, the service was professional and warm, even though the store was really full. You could tell that you were in a family business, we all felt very comfortable and ate very well. The draft beer, the recommended house wine, the schnapps and, last but not least, the espresso and the dessert were also simply very good. Everything was perfect, we would love to come back, many thanks to the team at the old guard.

Lange Wartezeit aufs Essen. Wir sind selber zur Bar gegangen, um weitere Getränke zu bestellen, da sich keiner vom Service am Tisch blicken ließ. Gargrad des Steaks weit verfehlt, es ging zurück in die Küche. Die Eingangstür schließt nicht richtig, weshalb man dauerhaft im kalten Windzug saß. Die Musik in meinen Augen zu laut. Insgesamt keine schöne Erfahrung und keine Weiterempfehlung.

Waren ein paar mal dort und das essen ist wirklich prima. Einziges kleines Mango ist das die jüngere Bedienung manchmal eine etwas unfreundliche Art hat . Vielleicht stört es die einen oder anderen Gäste . Aber essen Top.

Urige und sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre. Lammspieße auf dem Lavastein waren auf den Punkt, das Gemüse und die Bratkartoffeln perfekt gebraten. Zu alle dem wird man freundlich, fast schon familiär bedient und versorgt. 5 Sterne und mehr für die Alte Wache 🥰

Wir waren seit unserem ersten Besuch (Anfang 2017) bestimmt schon 4-5 weiter Male dort, haben aber immer nur Peka gegessen, jedes Mal mega lecker, mega Atmosphäre durch das Feuer und wie immer ein sehr aufmerksamer und herlicher Service Wenn sich mein Mann (Gattung Fleisch(fr)esser) mehr auf die Kartoffeln freut....dann ist wieder Peka-Zeit. Ich sollte da echt mal hin und die reguläre Karte zu probieren, heißt, ich bzw. wir kommen definitiv wieder!
