The food quality is excellent. I follow a low-salt diet, so the meat dishes aren't perfect for me. But everyone else with me was thrilled with the taste. The service was absolutely friendly and competent.

Superb schnitzel...perfectly cooked...I had the Swiss schnitzel...greatly topped with cheese and onions...and large portions...a man's portion...the service was quick and friendly...I'm thrilled...when I'm back in Stuttgart, I'll definitely be back...oh yes...the prices are absolutely reasonable....

Well, I'd actually like to give it more stars, but unfortunately, there are some downsides to this restaurant. Which is a shame, because the owners are friendly and the food, when you can actually get something, is very good. The prices are reasonable, too. What really bothers me, though, is this: You arrive shortly after they open in the morning, the restaurant is half empty, only the large table is occupied, and you're turned away. Unfortunately, this has happened several times now. The owners are certainly working as hard as they possibly can, but if they know they're at capacity, they could perhaps put up a sign or something similar on the door to let them know. It's a pity.

Best schnitzel in town! By far the best schnitzel in the kettle! Always freshly prepared and pounded by the chef, extremely large and delicious portions (bringing a Tupperware container is recommended), delicious side dishes, and fast service. And all at an extremely good price/performance ratio! We've been meeting there with our club for over a year and haven't regretted it once. Also highly recommended are the salads with chicken or salmon and the Gaisburger Marsch stew! And there's something for vegetarians too! A definite recommendation and a great addition to Stuttgart! The only thing is that the kitchen opening hours could be a bit longer (currently around 8 p.m.); but that's probably due to the new customer behavior. According to the owner, people now eat earlier.

We live right around the corner and (unfortunately) haven't been there in the last two years. The food was incredibly delicious, and you can hear the chef pounding the schnitzels. Everything was freshly cooked and the food came quickly. The service was super friendly, and you immediately feel at home! The ambiance is rustic/modern. It wasn't too busy for a Sunday evening. We'll be back.

A sentence with an X! The best thing about the schnitzel was the side salad. Too thick, the breading dry and slightly burnt, and I'm pretty sure it was fried in bad fat. The croquettes weren't that great either. I've been sitting on the toilet since 5 a.m. with diarrhea. Never again!

It's really amazing here. We've been here for the second time and we're extremely satisfied. The quality is really great. And the portions are quite large. While my husband was really full, I could barely finish my portion. The super delicious schnitzel comes with lemonade. I recommend the cucumber basil lemonade to everyone. It's simply divine. I've never had anything like it before, and I love it! The service is super friendly, and it's a small but quaint restaurant. If you like fancy, fancy food, this is the wrong place; this is where true tradition and love come into play. So, if we come back to Stuttgart, definitely here!

We had called in advance and were told the kitchen was open until 8:30 p.m. According to Google, the restaurant was open until 10:30 p.m. When we arrived at 8 p.m., they tried to turn us away. Only when we mentioned that we had called were we somewhat reluctantly offered a table. In the same breath, they mentioned that they only had standard schnitzel with fries or croquettes. Half an hour before the kitchen closes, nothing is left on the menu??? Very strange. There were three tables occupied, and they were served as usual. When we ordered, we were refused all sauces. Nothing else was offered, absolutely nothing. The food arrived shortly before the kitchen closed at 8:30 p.m. The fries were delicious, croquettes from the freezer, a little ketchup, and the schnitzel was good, as was the breading. In the end, a small gravy was served for the whole table (5 people). Yay, what a success. The ambiance is halfway between a pub and a cafeteria. Various chairs and tables and a plywood ceiling. It was something completely different, but cool. It really is. The restrooms are clean, as is the dining room. We were a bit disappointed with the approach and the way the food was handled. If you don't want any more customers in the evening, that should be communicated clearly and the times adjusted. But half an hour before the kitchen closes, only reluctantly serving the usual food isn't really great. It's a shame, because the other guests' dishes looked really great. I'd happily give it 5 stars, but unfortunately not for the service, as we drove in from a distance.

The reason from the kitchen was without a hello. You have to wait at least 30 minutes. There were 4 guests in the restaurant and then left straight away if you were so rude!

This was the worst schnitzel that I've had in years. The meal was simply fast food quality. The ingredients tasted like they came from the freezer or a can. The atmosphere was terrible. There is a smell of fat, the decoration is from another era, the music was American and from the 50's, and there was just me and another couple in the whole place. At the end, the waitress didn't ask if it was good but rather if I was full. I think that this confirmed my feeling. It's a place to get full on cheap food, and not to eat something good.

Even though it was open until 2 p.m. and there were still plenty of places available, you can't get anything to eat at 1 p.m.... What a shame.

Absolutely awesome. Nice restaurant with friendly service. Very tasty (at least plate and Stuttgart schnitzel and fries), Generous portions and quite affordable. Will definitely visit again. The only negative thing is that credit cards are not accepted and you are not allowed to tip with EC.

The Schnitzels are very tasty and creative. The service itself is good however they are little inflexible with reservation or turn-over. Even though it looks not full as a guest perspective, it could be full for their service system with one chef, one service person. If you would like to visit them, I recommend you to call them a day before to secure a table.

The schnitzels there are always excellent and everything is always freshly prepared. If you're in the mood for a decent schnitzel, you've come to the right place. Of course there are also other dishes (salads, Maultaschen etc.) The service is always friendly too.

Dotty had a large salad, I had a breaded schnitzel with fries, thank God I took the normal schnitzel which was gigantic in size, the fries were good so far, the schnitzel had no gristle etc and was just right. - I think we'll spontaneously go there again today The price was OK, I've eaten more expensively, and at the end there was cheesecake with red jelly

It is definitely one of the best schnitzels in all of Stuttgart. The prices are unbeatably fair. The service is also friendly and attentive. PS: I really can't understand the negative reviews that call it “ugly”. It's an authentic pub and not a Michelin restaurant - that should be clear to everyone.

The Schnitzels available here are much better than all other Schnitzels I've eaten in Stuttgart so far. It's still not expensive, you will get a perfect meal for below 20€ per person. Edit 04.10.2024: place is still great, best Schnitzel not just in Stuttgart but the best one I've eaten so far anywhere in the world. Been back many times and enjoyed it every single time, prices may have slightly increased since my original review seven years ago but are still very, very reasonable.

Today I came from outside Stuttgart for lunch with guests. According to the notice, it is open from noon to 2 p.m. We were in the guest room at 12:56; There were only 2 people sitting there. The innkeeper then explained to us that he would no longer serve us at lunch today. Thanks for nothing!

The food was really good but there were problems with the payment, no Visa card payment was possible and then the problem with the bill like the bill, you don't need just a receipt, what kind of place is this where there is no receipt

Very tasty schnitzels. BUT: Unfortunately, I have now been rejected several times in a VERY RUDE manner when making reservation requests. I couldn't make excuses - while I asked the question, people shouted into the phone that it wasn't important for God's sake. The lady always sounds very overwhelmed when “even more” guests want to come. Unfortunately, I had often noticed how guest-unfriendly the lady was! When I wanted to sit outside in the summer she said it was too hot. Well, I can probably decide for myself... She then gritted her teeth and unlocked the table for me. Would love to come back, but apparently normal reservations aren't possible here!

So if you are in Stuttgart you should definitely go to Schnitzelkönig for dinner. The atmosphere is uncomfortable. It's a family business. The son makes the food which he makes very great and tasty 😋. His mother, almost 80, always has the right saying ready. Is very friendly, helpful, and funny. So definitely come by.

Last Friday, February 16, 2024, my friend Paul and I decided to go out for lunch together. Since I live around the corner and had never visited the Schnitzelkönig, we decided after a moment to give it a chance. Expectations were reasonably high due to the good Google reviews and the attractive images. So we met in front of the restaurant at 12:30 p.m. From the outside, the Schnitzelkönig gave the impression of a pub or a clubhouse, but this was not perceived negatively at all. After we entered, we looked around and found ourselves in a pleasant atmosphere with a diverse crowd. About half of the tables were occupied, so after a moment we also chose a table to sit down. The moment I took off my jacket and hung it over my chair, I heard a loud and unfriendly voice from the direction of the bar saying: "I won't accept anything for dinner anymore." A little confused, I turned around and saw the chef standing behind the bar, looking at me and disappearing back into the kitchen. Slightly shocked and perplexed, I ran to the bar and asked the gentleman to explain the situation to me. Frantically running around his kitchen and not taking me seriously at all, he repeated his statement: "I won't accept anything for dinner anymore." Shocked by the situation, I asked him: "What time do you have to be there to have lunch at Schnitzelkönig?" (as a reminder, it was 12:30 p.m. and opening times are Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.). He only replied with a dissatisfied “Well!” and disappeared back into his kitchen. Paul and I looked at each other in disbelief and left the Schnitzlkönig again. That was perhaps the most unfriendly and unprofessional thing I have ever experienced from the service staff. It's a shame I couldn't leave a good review about the food. In my opinion, however, the suitability of the employees should be considered.

The name says it all and is more than justified. I have rarely seen such outstanding schnitzels in a restaurant, let alone eaten them. The knocking noises from the kitchen already indicate anticipation before the schnitzels, which have obviously been crispy in the pan, are carried out by a lovely, older and very attentive lady. This is how you imagine hospitality! Together with super crispy fries, a schnitzel treat that you want and know from the past! The portions are huge and the price-performance ratio is absolutely great. We'll definitely be back soon! I can only recommend this restaurant (in the truest and most positive sense of the word) to everyone!

The two of us spontaneously visited the Schnitzelkönig, called 2 hours in advance and made a reservation, which is always a good idea. The portions are absolutely sufficient ;-) Someone here (the chef) has thought about schnitzel dishes to perfection. We had the "Stuttgarter Schnitzel" and the "Hungarian Schnitzel", both of which were really excellent and consistent with the theme. The breading from the Stuttgarter is very fluffy and seasoned just right. The service was excellent and we felt welcome at all times. We will definitely come back, that's for sure. Please definitely keep it up!

Mein absolutes Lieblings Restaurant hier in Stuttgart. Die Karte bietet ein, zwei Salate und kleinere Snacks wie Currywurst oder Toasts, das Highlight sind aber die verschiedensten Schnitzel, alle mit unterschiedlichen Beilagen, Soßen und Geschmäcker mit meinem Favoriten dem Bayrischen. Wer einigermaßen was mit deutscher Küche anfangen kann sollte hier vorbeikommen. Der Service ist immer sehr schnell und herzlich.

So was unfreundliche habe ich ja noch nie erlebt 😰 ausreden ohne Ende, essen wahr nicht lecker, schnitzel ohne Soße da wahr ich schockiert, xxl schnitzel nein hieß es und beim essen heißt es plötzlich wen sie xxl schnitzel wollen Dan ohne etwas.... Nie wider gehe ich da essen und empfehle es nicht weiter.

Wer Schnitzel mag muss den Schnitzelkönig mögen. Fangen wir mit dem "negativen" an. Die Lage ist die einer typischen innerstädtischen Eckkneipe. Für eine solche auch eine sehr reizvolle Lage. Obwohl mitten in der Stadt direkt an Straße, Bus und Bahn gelegen nicht wirklich laut. Leider im Sommer nicht gut beschattet und daher sehr heiß. Abends, sobald sich die Sonne dünn macht, dann doch wieder sehr angenehm und richtig ruhig. Innen hinterlässt das Ambiente einen eher zwiespältigen Eindruck. Nicht alt und rustikal wie man es von einer Eckkneipe erwarten würde aber auch nicht wirklich modern. Vom Stil her eine Mischung aus Kneipe und Klassenzimmer. Daher hier von mir nur zwei Sterne. Aber jetzt das wichtigste. Die Karte ließt sich sehr gut und ist ansprechend in Form einer Kladde gestaltet. Die Schnitzel sind samt Beilagen über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Einfach nur lecker. Auch die Darreichung ist spitze. Sieht einfach sehr sehr gut aus. Mein Fazit. Für Schnitzelliebhaber ein Muss. Und wenn man sich nicht direkt die heißesten Tage des Jahres heraussucht und gegen Abend erscheint kann man sogar draußen richtig gut innerstädtisch entspannen. Macht weiter so.
