Goldener Adler in Stuttgart

Last night we ate Shameful, exploitative and discriminatory My experience at this restaurant was absolutely unacceptable. When paying, the waiter aggressively demanded a tip, and when I refused, he was extremely rude and falsely claimed that it was mandatory in Germany. To make matters worse, he told me in his aggressive tone that I should never come back to the restaurant - a completely rude and insulting comment. This behavior was clearly intimidating, exploitative and discriminatory, as I was treated disrespectfully due to my background and lack of knowledge of local customs. It is unacceptable for a business to allow its staff to humiliate and intimidate guests in this way. I will never come back and recommend everyone to avoid this place.

We booked several days in advance to be sure, the place is wonderful with a great atmosphere. The menu is not very long but each dish is well thought out and even better executed. Generous portions and you can easily rely on the staff for advice. They also have the menu in English for those who don't understand German very well and we also found a member of staff who was willing to speak a little Italian to help us. A magnificent experience of German cuisine.

We have been to the Goldener Adler several times and celebrated New Year's Eve there yesterday. First of all, many thanks to the entire team who served us attentively and calmly. I can fully recommend the food, whether the onion roast with the perfect fried potatoes, the breaded schnitzel with my favorite potato salad or the dessert variations. Always worth a visit... Reservations are strongly recommended as other guests like me also love it and go there regularly.

We dined at GA on our last night in Stuttgart and were so pleased that we did. We had a wonderful evening, food was incredible, staff attentive and polite, and the atmosphere was perfect. We would thoroughly recommend this venue to anyone visiting Stuttgart.

The "table" was a counter and the onion roast was simply 100g 😂 The pieces from the neighbors were about 250% more. I have no idea what you were supposed to do, but I'm not coming anymore. You really deserve your €2.30 tip. Definitely don't share it with the kitchen. Wine selection was good, advice non-existent. Pouring wine with so much indifference also needs to be learned. Great 👍

Had a very good dinner, right up until the male server (and it wasn’t the female one who had treated us great all night) informed us “in Germany the tip isn’t included” - while pointing at the bill. Have never had a German waiter say that in my 5 years of living in Germany. That left a bad taste in our mouth. Based on that - not likely to return. Very nice interior and atmosphere, food was a 8/10. Unfortunately I think the final waiter assumed we were foreigners in town for the Christmas markets as we spoke English.

I think if you want really good local food, there's no way around it.

We always feel welcome, even with our little grandchildren. Interesting, varied home-style cuisine, vegetarians will also find something, allergies and intolerances are taken seriously. Prices appropriate to the high level. The quality is known, so it's better to make a reservation. Nothing to add after another very pleasant visit.

As always, a very good bank! Here you can get one of the best Wiener Schnitzel in Stuttgart. Also cool: here you can get a small 0.25l draft beer, Edelstoff. Super!

Everything is pretty expensive, but as long as the store is running, why not.

Excellent, exquisite food, a special selection of wines, a calm ambience and very attentive service made this visit an experience. The restaurant “Goldener Adler” is highly recommended. I will come again on my next visit to Stuttgart.

Such an amazing restaurant I cannot recommend enough! The staff were super friendly and attentive, the food was amazing from starter all the way to dessert. This was our last meal of the trip and we were so so happy we came here for it. The Maultaschen was incredible in the most delicate consumé. I ordered the deer for my main and it was surprisingly not gamey at all and so tender. And then the perfect Panna cotta to finish off the meal. Would be coming back next time we’re in Stuttgart!!

Fantastic and varied food, very nice and attentive service and relaxed atmosphere. We were here for a wedding with 14 guests and were completely satisfied :)

The food was very tasty, but you have to dig a little deeper into your pockets. Service was nice.

Ambience is a 10/10, you can't say anything about it. We had to wait 40 minutes for our food... it's manageable but it's not nice Onion roast was great… the veal kidneys were probably very bad. I personally didn't, but if one person in the group lets the food go back half-finished because it didn't taste good, then it's not that great for the rest either... Personally, I would come back for the onion roast and the ambience... but for more neither. We paid between 40 and 50 euros per person.

To my great delight, the meat was tender as butter. This roast onion was a poem!

Friendly, attentive service. Great sweetbreads and veal kidneys. It's great that there are still restaurants that offer this. The kidneys fried as desired and a very tasty sauce.

Sehr gutes deutsches Restaurant. Die Gerichte werden klassisch, aber gleichzeitig elegant serviert. Empfehlenswert: Zwiebelrostbraten. Das Personal ist sehr professionell und freundlich.

Great evening on the terrace. Top service, very friendly. We had one or two dishes that didn't blow us away 100%, but others were really great. Ambiance is nice for being in the middle of the city, there is some street noise on the terrace, but normal. All in all, not a complete 5 star rating, but we will definitely be back soon and would definitely recommend it.

Above-average cuisine with friendly service and a nice garden.. Price/performance ratio is still unbeatable. A real insider tip even if it costs a little more.

Great traditional food, delicious Riesling, dog-friendly, hidden gem.

Absolutely recommended restaurant. The slightly higher prices are definitely justified because it really tastes excellent here. If you just order a main course and something to drink, you can get by with around €40. However, I recommend treating yourself to an appetizer and dessert as well. With several drinks you'll be at €80-90 and have a great evening :) The waitresses are very attentive and friendly. The ambience outside is very nice for this location, right in the city. It's pretty inside too. The tuna tartare and the beef carpaccio are recommended and the saddle of lamb is a very delicate culinary delight. We had a great evening and would love to come back here.

Although the quality of food leaves no doubt, it was not extraordinary or "mind-blowing" for me. But the prices are on the higher side. Price/quality/taste ratio is not the best. Local dishes are usually quite served in big portions, and that's why me and my wife often prefer to share a main dish. In this place, they basically didn't allow us to do so. Literally said they will not give us an extra plate to share a dish. Never happened to us before. But these are the rules here, so be aware. The waitress was super nice! without her, our experience at Goldener Adler could have been much worse

A smooth 10/10 The evening was super relaxed ☺️ The staff was perfect, always there when needed & always very polite. The owner was very personable and very communicative, so she immediately felt like a family. Not too much & not too little, simply optimal. In addition, the food was delicious, the price was good and the atmosphere on the terrace was very cozy. We'd love to come back.

Big disappointment in this restaurant which seemed of quality. We waited 1h15 to receive our dishes?!!! (Table of 4 people) While other (German) customers who arrived after us were served before. The wine that we had ordered for dinner comforted us for the aperitif but more than enough to accompany the meal...The waitress who was adorable announced to us the arrival of the dishes after an hour. We were able to start eating while the staff brought in the tables and chairs from the terrace. this service really gave us the impression of being a nuisance and deteriorated treatment towards us (we don't know if this is due to the fact that we were 4 young female tourists?) There was no compensation offered from them. The meal was good but we expected more from a restaurant that seemed so renowned in terms of presentation and certain dishes chosen.

Having traveled from Cologne for a weekend, the “Golden Eagle” was recommended to us. Hardly visible from the outside, but inside it's just a very nice restaurant with subtle lighting. The menu has something for every taste. The staff is very polite and the food is very well seasoned and simply delicious. In summer it is certainly a great place to stay with a beer garden under the chestnut trees. We can definitely recommend it. A great evening.

The food was simply terrific, excellent Maultaschen, very nice potato salad, great onion roast and excellent goose liver pate, plus nice service! There is also a great selection of wine and digestifs, served at the perfect temperature. The only small downside: the seating is a bit cramped, it's loud, the parking spaces are limited and the only real negative point is that it's comparatively expensive. Starters 16 - 24 EUR, main courses 28 - 35 EUR. Given the quality, that's just about okay. Wine is also quite expensive: 0.1 l by the glass for 5 - 6 EUR, 0.2 l for 9.50 to 11 EUR. Bottled wines 30 - 120 EUR. At the top it's good, in many restaurants it gets significantly more expensive, at the bottom you would want one or two wines to start with around 20 to 25 € or a house wine for 4/7 EUR per glass. Nevertheless: Nice wine list! Recommendation!

To tell the truth with such a German name we thought it would be serving the usual schnitzel and roasted potatoes. But we needed a table on Easter Monday and it had good reviews as well as a Michelin Bib Gourmand. I had to say we enjoyed the food very much, from my pancake soup to the lamb on peperonata and wild garlic polenta - knowing that I usually do not like polenta, but this one was tasty. I was glad they served the lamb rosé without my having to ask for it. Service was good and friendly and they had a small but pretty good wine selection.

More appearance than reality! If you like etepetete, you've come to the right place! Absolutely a disappointment! The perception of reality is an absolute foreign concept!

Our dinner at Goldener Adler was the highlight of our Stuttgart trip. The traditional cuisine and wine were exceptional, and the service, particularly Philip’s recommendations, was excellent. We’ll certainly make Goldener Adler our first stop on our next visit to Stuttgart. Looking forward to seeing you again soon, Philip!

The food and service were very good. A great selection of dishes on the menu. There are many classics such as veal schnitzel and roast roast, which are prepared to perfection here. Overall one of the best (Swabian) restaurants in Stuttgart.

We really enjoyed it, we'd love to come back

We went to this restaurant for my friend's birthday. Food quality and taste very good, but our main course came so late and I almost didn't feel like it anymore, but service tried to be as good as possible so that we leave the door satisfied, so I give 4 stars if I go back come? Yes, and will I recommend this restaurant? Yes, the steak was the best in town 🌃.

Good German and Swabian restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. We had starter, main course and dessert and everything was delicious. Big portion. Aperol with freshly squeezed orange juice was also great.

Carpaccio, saffron risotto, and scallops with avacado were amazing.

Dishes at a high level, from Maultaschen to the juicy Cordon Bleu to the tender onion roast. The starters, including quail and foie gras or veal head praline, as well as the desserts are in no way inferior. When in Stuttgart, Golden Eagle!

Wonderful: nice short-term reservation by phone, cozy atmosphere, great service and delicious food. What more could you want? We've been there several times, and if you want to treat yourself to something special, this is the place for you. And it's been that way for years, great!!!

Lecker Essen, nicht ganz billig aber spitze.

Desaströses Preis-Leistungsverhältnis wie z.B. Cordon Bleu ohne Präsentation und richtige Beilage (kleiner Beilagensalat) für 35€. Sorry, da hat die Küche die Bodenhaftung verloren. Gleiches Spiel beim Schnitzel mit kaltem und faden Kartoffelsalat für 30€. Lieblos "angerichtet" und schlichtweg zu teuer für das, was hier angeboten wird. Der Service ist Geschmackssache. Habe selber jahrelang in der Gastro gearbeitet und dem Chefkellner mangelt es an Fingerspitzengefühl für seine teils komplett unangebrachten "Witze". Kann man schon machen, aber dann mit dem entsprechenden Feingefühl für die Gäste. Bei uns war es einfach nur nervig. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und geschmackvoll. Es gibt eine handvoll kostenlose Parkplätze im Hinterhof.

Ein von außen eher unscheinbares Haus beherbergt, ein Lokal, wie man es sich so vorstellt. Grund – schwäbisch und sehr pfiffig mit einigen internationalen Kreationen, ein außerordentlich inspirierten Service und dazu noch eine schöne, regionale Weinkarte mit internationalen Abrundung. Die Speisen sind vorzüglich, mehr als reichlich und das gesamte Preis – Leistungs – Verhältnis ist erstklassig.

Had a great experience last night! We got stuck at work and missed our reservation (by a lot) and had the nerve to show up 20 minutes before closing. Even though they weren't serving the full menu, they were gracious enough to take care of us and we are glad they did. My steak was phenomenal and my friend loved the ravioli. All the staff spoke English and were extremely polite.

Wonderful dining experience, exceptional service with warm welcome. We are sharing dishes and the waitor kindly arranged for food to be divided before they arrive. The wine list was good and reasonably priced. Very yummy food with large portion. Value for money. Recommend the octopus dish.

Tja, früher war ja bekanntlich alles besser! Das stimmt natürlich nicht. Dem Chef des Goldenen Adlers folge ich seit über 25 Jahren. Als er damals die Weinstube Fröhlich verließ, schmeckten plötzlich die Schnitzel nicht mehr. Also waren wir froh, dass er am Schwabtunnel selbständig eröffnete. Der Umzug in den Goldener Adler schaffte dann auch nach ein ansprechendes Ambiente. Nun, nach vielen Jahren der Abstinenz waren wir mal wieder zu Besuch, leider. Ich hatte mich schon gewundert, dass so kurzfristig Tische am Abend verfügbar waren. Der ganze Abend war ein einziger Reinfall. Spaßige Kellner, ok, aber nur wenn auch der Rest passt. Aufmerksamkeit, Qualität der Speisen, Qualität des Weins. Wir haben so schlecht gegessen. Das Cordon Bleu grenzte an Ungenießbarkeit, so trocken war es fritiert, kein Käse lief aus dem Fleisch. Auch die Vorspeisen, ein Schatten der Vergangenheit. Ich verstehe, dass die Zeiten schwer sind. Insbesondere Personal zu finden, zu halten, zu motivieren. Um so mehr muss Gatronomie durch bedingungslos gute Qualität überzeugen. Da ist man beim Goldenen Adler leider ganz weit vom guten Weg abgekommen. Wir kommen gerne wieder, aber das muss sich ändern.

Sehr gute Küche und ein angenehmer Service. Der Oktopus und Garnelen auf Spinat wirklich herausragend, das Schnitzel dünn und weich. Gute Weinkarte. Grundsätzlich gutes Preis-Leistung Verhältnis und immer einen Besuch wert

Par chance nous avons réussi à avoir une table le jour même (au bar). Très bonne adresse pour découvrir des spécialités culinaires locales, et rapport qualité prix honorable. Nous avons décidé de partager plusieurs entrées et elles étaient toutes délicieuses (cuisine raffinée et bien travaillée) Encore merci !

Ordentliche Portionen zu ordentlichen Preisen. Gutbürgerliche Küche der gehobenen Art.

Sehr schönes angenehmes Ambiente. Kleinere, aber sehr attraktive Speisekarte. Immer wieder Varianten, dir die Saison widerspiegeln. Aufmerksame und nette Mitarbeiter. Hervorragende Auswahl an Speisen und Weinen. Oft sehr gut besucht, dann warm und zu laut.

Es war wunderbar im Goldenen Adler. Köstliche Saure Niernla "zom neiliega" und überaus freundliche und aufmerksame Gastgeber - was willst du mehr!

Was ich am Goldenen Adler mag: das Konzept. Nicht zu schick und nicht zu einfach, nicht zu teuer aber auch nicht zu günstig, nicht zu laut und nicht zu leise. Einfach genau richtig. Was ich am Goldenen Adler liebe: das Cordon Bleu, denn es ist das Beste der Stadt. In Kombination mit einem spitzenmäßigen Kartoffelsalat und frischen knackigen Salatblättern ein absoluter Traum. Ausgezeichnet ist auch die Weinauswahl, ein Großteil davon aus dem Ländle, und die immer kenntnisreiche Beratung dazu.

The service was worse than no service. If you do not care for the service, only looking for delicious German cuisine with decent prices, please ignore my comments here. I will list out the facts first then discuss the implications. 1) We made a reservation a week ahead of the event since we expect a large group of people (around 14 people) coming for a celebratory event. We called two hours in advance to confirm with the restaurant on that day, by then, we still expect 14 people to come. Two hours later, we arrived at the restaurant with 8 people only, since there are last minute cancellations on us. The waiter condemned us: “You must tell us in advance! You said there are 14 people coming, now there are only 8?! How could you not have called?!” There is an empty 6-person table behind us the entire time. 2) We have been seated and we rearranged our cutlery set by ourself. We received the menu and decided appetizers. Since we are an international group, we are not sure what is the order to tell the waiter, and after telling him what we want for appetizers, we realized maybe we should tell the waiter what we want for drinks first for his peace of mind. The waiter is informed with “we are discussing drinks right now”, then he walked away directly without saying a word, leaving us confused. 3) We arrived at 7:05, and received our food at 9:05 on a Monday night. A group of people came after us received their drinks and food and left before we received ours. 4) After 7 people from our group have received our main dish, one main dish is left behind. The waiter explained: ”I only have two hands, I cannot carry more.” Then 8 minutes have passed until the left out main dish has been received with the rest of our food being cold in an autumn night, since we have to show the courtesy to our friend. (Someone in the group also ordered the exact same dish without being left for waiting.) I kept wondering if his hands were full for the entire 8 minutes of our waiting. (Later, the waiter brought a “handmade cappuccino for the soul” to use his words, for the friend who has waited, after we have paid, packed and ready to leave. “I did not know that you are leaving so soon.” He added when we have to go. ) 5) We additionally ordered another round of drinks. They came out wrong. “They (the wrong ones) are on the house.” The waiter said. Given these facts, several conclusions can be drawn. 1) The waiter has complained directly to his customers faces. 2) The waiter has left without leaving a word behind, leaving his customers confused. 3) 8 main dishes are ordered, and we have waited at least 1.5 hour long for them. 4) The dishes are not presented all at once. 5) The ordered drinks are not presented correctly. These service deficiencies have greatly affected the atmosphere of the celebratory event and a following reservation. Potentially, it damaged the trust of the supervisor to our team. Personally, we previously had a great experience for this place, so we chose this place for this important event. But evidently we have been betrayed. We wanted to defend it in front of our colleagues due to the quality of the food, but the dishes are cold when we started, henceforth the quality of the food, to others, are not close to what I have claimed. We question the standard of its service as a Michelin restaurant.

Wir hatten extra auf der Terrasse reserviert, als wir ankamen, war sie geschlossen, wegen Personalmangel könne nicht innen und außen bedient werden. Wir saßen dann bei 30 Grad in der bengten Wirtsstube. Die Bedienung, der Bediener? (reichtig gegendert?) war sehr rustical und zuweilen unangenehm. Sonst wurden wir den ganzen Abend alleine gelassen und mussten mehrmals für weiter Bestellungen und auf Getränke auf uns aufmerksam machen. Neben uns wurde ein Ehepaar plaziert, die eine Hundedecke ausbreiteten samt Spielsachen für den Hund und einen Knochen an dem er, während wir aßen genüßlich nagte. Den Wirt schien es nicht zu stören, aber uns ... Das Essen war ok, nur hat das drumherum bei den Preisen nicht so gepasst. Werde nicht mehr kommen

Tolles schwäbisches Essen in gehobenem Ambiente!

We were very much looking forward to dining here after reading the reviews and Michelin accolades. The space is cozy and great for a date night, or for a nice dinner with friends or colleagues. I was underwhelmed by the seasoning of the food as much as I wanted to love it, the dessert was the best part. We had reservations and were immediately seated. I started with the Asian pork belly and spicy kohlrabi kimchi. The kimchi was very good and had a nice kick, but the pork belly was lacking much flavor, even with all the sauce. I then had the zwiebelrostbraten with spätzle. The steak was cooked perfectly and tender, but I still found it lacking much flavor. The onions were full of flavor and took over the dish, but seasoning outside of that was minimal. The spätzle did taste like it had the nutmeg in it and was cooked perfectly. Split the chocolate dish for dessert and it made the whole night better. The mouse portion was so creamy and delicious, while the brownie was warm and just melted in your mouth. The ice cream had some type of crunchy chocolate as well. The strawberry and rhubarb were both nice additions, as was the mint cream. Update: tried it again and adding a star for the food! The steak was good, but the smoked trout appetizer was surprisingly delicious! This time the dessert was white chocolate creme brulee, plums, and ice cream.

Toller Außenbereich! Wir hatten einen super Abend mit leckerem schwäbischem Essen und werden ganz bestimmt wiederkommen! 👍

Aufgrund der guten Bewertungen sind wir mal wieder in dieses Restaurant gegangen. Der Innenbereich ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Der Außenbereich ist ganz nett aber eben gleich neben einer Hauptstraße. Die Speisen waren gut. Einige Speisen auf der Speisekarte waren nicht verfügbar. Das Glas Wein für knapp 10 € ist zu teuer. Preis und Leistung klaffen hier extrem auseinander. Unseres Erachtens sind auch die Preise für die Speisen etwas zu hoch.

Preist-Leistung paßt nicht ganz. Essen ist gut, aber auch nicht mehr.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und auf den gepunkt zubereitet ! Am Ambiente und Service würde ich jedoch noch arbeiten. Die Dame am Empfang war dafür sehr herzlich.

Wie immer exzellent. Mein Lieblingslokal in Stuttgart! Update Juli 2023..... Essen gut, leider fehlt es dafür absolut am Service, dauert lang, Speisen im Menü schlecht terminiert.....oder zumindest nicht wie gewohnt. So schade. Herr Weigand fehlt an allen Ecken.

Sehr gutes Essen. Service und Servier-Geschwindigkeit ist definitiv verbesserungsfähig.

Excellent local wine list and friendly atmosphere

Toller Gasthof am Fuß des Weinwanderwegs. Durchweg richtig nettes und aufmerksames Personal. Schnitzel und Cordon bleau lecker, aber nicht perfekt. Abgrenzung zum Parkplatz könnte gemütlicher sein.

TOP Service. Sehr zuvorkommend, schnell und höflich! Vorspeisen waren 5 Sterne (hatten Tartar und Suppe); Hauptgänge (Zwiebelrostbraten und Schnitzel) konnten das Niveau für unseren Geschmack nicht ganz halten....daher für diesen Tag 4 Sterne.....

Essen, Service, Ambiente waren alles top und sehr zu empfehlen. Aber ein Tomatensalat für 24 Euro hat uns auf der Rechnung dann doch sehr irritiert. Ja, die Vorspeise wurde als Hauptgang serviert. Aber gefühlt war hier nur der Preis auf Hauptgangniveau. Das dürfte die teuerste Handvoll Cherrytomaten gewesen sein, die wir je gegessen haben. Auch wenn es sehr gut war, gibt es für Preis - Leistung einen Stern Abzug.

Sehr nettes und freundliches Personal, alle Wünsche werden erfüllt. Das Essen schmeckt ebenso hervorragend. Im Sommer kann man draußen sitzen.

Kleine Speisekarte und richtig tolles schwäbisches Essen. Der Vorspeisensalat macht Lust auf mehr, das Schnitzel ist sensationell (so wie es sich gehört zart mit aufgeblähter Kruste und golden) und der Nachtisch extrem lecker und liebevoll angerichtet. Ich komme gerne wieder :-)
