Kalbsschnitzel bestellt für 28€ das war alles aber kein originales kalbs wienerschnitzel wie beschrieben wird das fleisch war so gummi artig und hart zudem null geschmack wir vermuten das es Schweine fleisch war! Ein echtes wiener schnitzel ist dünn geklopft und zartes Kalbfleisch und nicht schuhsohle zudem war der Kaiserschmarrn ungenießbar und total überteuert wir meiden das Restaurant schade um das viele geld!

Etwas überteuert, aber das Essen ist gut und authentisch. Sehr schöne Einrichtung und Atmosphäre.

Wir waren nach einer Schulung mit unserer ganzen Gruppe hier und waren rundum zufrieden. Obwohl wir eine größere Gruppe waren, hat alles hervorragend funktioniert. Die Organisation war top und es gab keinerlei Probleme. Das Essen war einfach hervorragend! Alle Gerichte waren frisch, sehr lecker und schön angerichtet. Sowohl die Hauptgerichte als auch der Kaiserschmarrn zum Dessert waren ausgezeichnet. Die Portionen waren großzügig und die Atmosphäre sehr angenehm. Der einzige kleine Kritikpunkt betrifft die Getränke: Lillet und Limoncello wurden leider in normalen Gläsern serviert. In passenden Gläsern würden sie deutlich hochwertiger wirken und das Gesamtbild abrunden. Ansonsten war alles wirklich erstklassig. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können das Restaurant uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Wir fanden die Preise im Verhältnis zu den Portionsgrößen übertrieben, und einige Gerichte entsprachen überhaupt nicht den Beschreibungen auf der Speisekarte. Es wäre ratsam, Beispielfotos für Gäste hinzuzufügen, die nicht aus der Gegend kommen und kein Deutsch sprechen. Der Kellner schien nur daran interessiert zu sein, die teuersten Gerichte zu berechnen. Als die Rechnung kam, waren wir schockiert, dass vier Personen mit je einem Gericht und einem Getränk 98 € bezahlen sollten, und verlangten eine schriftliche Quittung. Wir bezahlten und verließen das Restaurant mit dem unguten Gefühl, die falsche Wahl getroffen zu haben. Wir können es absolut nicht empfehlen.

Persönliche Meinung: Das Essen bzw. der Kaiserschmarrn hat mir nicht geschmeckt.

Sehr lecker, sehr freundlich, sehr schnell, gerne wieder!

Wir hatten zwei Mal den Bauerntanzsalat und ein Jägerschnitzel und einen Kaiserschmarrn. Der Salat ist mit Hähnchen und kostet 17,80€ und wird mit 3 Stücken trockenem Discounter Baguette serviert. In meinem Fall auch mitt schimmeliger Tomate aus dem Kühlschrank. Der Salat war eine fertige Mischung mit angefaulten braunen Stellen. Das Fleisch war lasch und Zerklopft. Der Kaiserschmarrn hat in Fett gebadet. Es lohnt sich auf gar keinen Fall dort hin zu gehen. Vor dem Betreiberwechsel mochte ich es sehr gerne aber jetzt - Alptraum. Die Bedienung war immerhin freundlich.

Wir haben nur ein Bier getrunken aber sehr nettes Personal. Und schon auch draußen zu sitzen .

Wir wollten hier essen, aber die Terrasse war leer. Also dachten wir, wir gehen rein und fragen nach. Zwei Männer/Jungen standen in der Küche und schauten Videos auf ihren Handys. Nachdem wir laut „Hallo“ gerufen hatten, schaute einer von ihnen auf und starrte einfach weiter auf sein Handy. Er ignorierte uns komplett. Unfassbar. Wir warteten noch etwas und gingen dann einfach. Uns war klar, warum es hier so leer war, während das Lokal nebenan brechend voll war.

Alles war super, wenn wir wieder in der Nähe sind, kommen wir gerne wieder vorbei.

Sind zufällig beim sightseeing beim Bauerntanz eingekehrt Der Herr der uns unser 🍺&🍹 brachte war sehr nett und aufmerksam Leider war am nächsten Tag trotz Bestuhlung und offenen Fenstern das Gasthaus geschlossen und wir mussten uns eine neue Pausenmöglichkeit suchen … Schade …wollten eigentlich was essen die Speisekarte war sehr vielversprechend

Niemals Wieder, Hat nichts mehr mit dem Lokal zu tun welches es mal war. Das Servicepersonal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend aber die Speisen waren klein, aus Fertigprodukten zusammengestellt und in keinem Verhältnis zum Preis. Das älteste Wirtshaus in Augsburg ist mittlerweile ein NoGo,… leider

Das Essen (Maultaschen) war OK, aber nichts besonderes. Die Maracuja Schorle war wässrig und auch die Zitronenlimonade war auch nichts. Bei der Abrechnung wurde sich dann mal eben um 1,20 zu unseren Ungunsten verrechnet. Wir hatten aber keine Lust einen Aufstand zu machen. Fazit: beim nächsten mal in der Altstadt gibt es sicherlich bessere Lokalitäten.

Leider ist das Essen sehr lieblos und ohne jegliches kulinarisches Verständnis zubereitet. Besonders bei den hier verlangten Preisen grenzt es schon an eine Frechheit, was einem hier serviert wird.

Wir waren dort zum Abendessen. Mit 2 Personen, ohne Reservierung, trotzdem einen Platz bekommen. Sehr nette Bedienung. Das Bier und das Essen waren sehr lecker. Mein Mann hatte den Schweinebraten und ich die Schweinemedaillons mit Käsespätzle. Sehr lecker. Ich liebe dieses Kellerbier, sehr süffig. Komme aus dem Land des Kölschs und das mochte ich auch.

Ein nettes Restaurant in Altstadt Nähe. Ambiente leicht in die Jahre gekommen aber sauber. Ebenfalls ist das Essen gut und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Ebenfalls stimmt der Service, bestellte Getränke kamen recht zügig, leider fehlte uns zwischenzeitlich die Nachfrage des Personals, ob wir noch etwas zu trinken haben möchten. Ansonsten waren wir zufrieden. Leider lassen sich keine Bilder hochladen.

Die Lage ist das Highlight, Essen und Service waren mangelhaft. Wir wollen endlich mal dieses Restaurant testen aber es war leider der erste und letzte Besuch. Vielleicht sind sie überfordert gewesen, da schönes Wetter war und viele Kunden draußen sitzen und serviert werden sollen. Wir saßen mit einigen anderen Gästen drinen, wir warteten über einer Stunde auf nur ein Wienerschnitzel mit Pommes, mit dem stolzen Preis von 18Euro aber sah unappetitlich und schlecht gemacht aus. Das ist das klassische und einfachste Gericht, das ein bayrisches Restaurant schaffen soll (meiner Meinung nach) . In diesem Restaurant hatten wir das hässlichsten Schnitzel , das wir je in einem Restaurant gesehen haben, bekamen. Gemischter Salat dazu extra bestellt..auch nicht überzeugend. Schade für so ein schönes gelegenes Restaurant. Es liegt vielleicht an Überfördung,dass Essen so verbrannt und nicht gelingt aber um Kunden zu gewinnen und zu behalten,sollen Restaurants die Qualität ihrer Essen gleich halten. Nachdem ich die anderen Rezessionen, mit zufrieden Kunden gelesen habe, könnte das Essen dort auch an manchen Tagen gut sein (anscheinend). Letztes Foto ist ein Schnitzel, das ich zuhause selber gemacht habe...macht oft kein Spaß draußen bei Restaurants zu essen, wenn sie schlecht als was man selbst zuhause macht, machen.

Wir waren am Freitag mit Freunden zusammen Essen. Also das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Die Bedienungen sehr freundlich. Und die Gaststätte ist sehr urig.

Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Abend im Bauerntanz. Die Lage mitten im Zentrum ist perfekt, besonders wenn man mit Familie unterwegs ist. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und traditionell, genau so, wie man sich ein bayerisches Restaurant vorstellt. Der Service war freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell, was für uns mit Kind besonders wichtig war. Das Essen kam zügig und war sehr lecker – das Schnitzel war perfekt zubereitet, saftig und knusprig, die Beilagen frisch und gut abgestimmt. Auch die Getränkeauswahl, insbesondere das Bier, hat überzeugt. Insgesamt ein sehr solides Restaurant mit guter Qualität, fairen Preisen und einer entspannten Atmosphäre. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Eine sehr schöne bayerische Wirtschaft im Herzen der Altstadt. Drinnen wie draußen kann man hier noch gute Küche genießen. Der Service war wie immer optimal, höflich und zuvorkommend. Auch ohne Reservierung bekamen wir noch einen Platz. Den "Bauernschmaus" kann ich wärmstens empfehlen, dazu ein gutes Dunkles. Augsburgs ältestes Gasthaus, immer wieder gerne!

Hatten Mädelsausflug und waren zum Abendessen dort, essen war gut und warm. Die Räumlichkeiten oben nett eingerichtet, aber die Toiletten sind unterste Schublade, Boden verklebt, kein Mülleimer, küchenrolle zum abtrocknen,Spinnweben ohne Ende, einfach nur dreckig. Eine Putzfrau wäre mal von Vorteil.

Nicht nur altmodisch, sondern auch super gemütlich und lecker. Sehr empfehlenswert für alle, die wie Goethe und Co. auf einer langen Reise sind und große Portionen brauchen. Für alle anderen hat das freundliche Personal eine überzeugende Lösung parat. Hunde sind willkommen.

Schönes traditionelles Gasthaus mit angenehmer Atmosphäre und liebevoller Belegschaft. Essen ist immer wieder lecker, dabei rasch zubereitet und heiß am Tisch. Eine Kritik wäre die bescheidene Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten auf der Karte, jedoch verständlich, da es sich hier um eine traditionelle schwäbische Küche handelt.

Hervorragende deutsche Küche in rustikalem Ambiente. Die vegetarischen Optionen sind nicht optimal, aber es ist wirklich gemütlich.

⭐ 1 Stern 70 € für die „Mozart-Platte“ für zwei Personen – und was wir bekamen, war eine lächerlich kleine Portion, die überhaupt nicht wie auf den Fotos in der Speisekarte aussah. Überteuert, irreführend und enttäuschend. Nie wieder. Nicht empfehlenswert.

Am 15. Januar war ich seit Jahren mal wieder zum Geschäftsessen im Bauerntanz. Die Bewertungen sind ja recht unterschiedlich und so war ich schon gespannt. Das Ambiente hat sich wenig verändert. Etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber dafür hallt es nicht. Dezente Musik im Hintergrund. Man kann sich prima unterhalten. Das Essen war fantastisch. Ich hatte den Zwiebelrostbraten. Super zartes Fleisch, hervorragende Kässpatzen und eine tolle Soße. Nicht verkünstelt und nicht aus dem Knorr/Maggi Päckchen. Hätte am liebsten den Teller ausgeschleckt. Das Essen meiner Geschäftskollegen (Rehragout bzw. Schweinemedaillons in Rahmsoße) sah auch super aus und beide waren top zufrieden. Der Service war hervorragen und das Hasenbräu Kellerbier war überraschend gut. Das Hasenbräu Hell ist leider untrinkbar. Ich glaube das macht Tucher ohne Hopfen. Ich komme jetzt wieder häufiger.

Fantastischer Geschmack und tolles Ambiente.

Absolut schlecht!!! Reklamation wurde überhaupt nicht angenommen, hat alles versucht bei mir den Fehler zu finden. Fleisch war zäh und mit Sehnen durchzogen. Essen war nur noch lauwarm. Essen ist aus den Behältern herausgelaufen. Am Ende von dem Telefonat hat er mich beleidigt und aufgelegt. Dort würde ich nicht mal auf die Toilette gehen wollen.

Entsprach der preislichen Erwartung. Die Kässpatzen waren gut, der Käse aber etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die süssen Schupfnudeln waren etwas verbrannt und fettig, ansonsten gut. Der Kaiserschmarrn sehr lecker! Der Service und die Atmosphäre waren durchschnittlich.

Das Essen war unter aller Sau. Das plattgeschlagene Schnitzel als Holzfällersteak zu verkaufen ,ist schon eine Frechheit schlechthin. Der Service hat anscheinend auch keine Lust mehr in diesem Loch. Mussten die Getränke selber holen, weil wir nicht mehr bedient wurden. Und zum Schluss noch die falsche Rechnung vorgelegt und den höheren Betrag auch noch verlangt.Nie Wieder.

For about 10 years now, we've been going to the Bauerntanz restaurant every December 26th with a group of 6-8 people, and we've always been satisfied. Unfortunately, this year was different. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't heated; it was too cold, and the radiators were cold too. The restaurant was only half full, whereas it's usually fully booked twice during lunchtime. Now, about the food: I had a Zwiebelrostbraten (onion roast beef) that was supposed to have homemade caramelized onions, but these weren't fresh onions as advertised on the menu; they were pre-made ones. No one asked if I wanted it medium or well-done, which was unacceptable, as the meat was too small and too thin. (€27.90) It came with Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle), but you practically had to search for the cheese. My husband had Jägerschnitzel (hunter's schnitzel) with spaetzle. The meat was so small you had to hunt for it in the plate; the rest of the plate was filled with spaetzle. There was far too little sauce (yes, you can order more sauce, but that defeats the purpose). The pork tenderloin with Käsespätzle was almost cold. The breaded schnitzel was oversalted. The roast pork came with only one dumpling. Afterwards, no one asked if we wanted anything else – dessert, coffee, or ice cream. No, quite a few things were wrong, especially the value for money! We'll be looking for a new restaurant for Boxing Day next year. What a shame! ☹️

We had to wait a very long time for the food; unfortunately, the quality and taste of the food were not satisfactory.

We stopped here for a quick lunch without a reservation. We were immediately assigned a table, and the service was quite fast. We found the place a bit cold, the bathroom even more so. Only after ordering and receiving our food were we told that payment was cash only. Information like this should be reported immediately.

An engaging experience immersed in a historic Augsburg restaurant, with a traditional Swabian-Bavarian atmosphere and dishes. I highly recommend the lamb with potatoes and green beans! Paired with a cold beer, of course. The desserts are also excellent!

As always, the food was delicious and the service was very friendly. I was here with my mother (and have been here many times in the 15 years I've lived in Augsburg) and had Gelbfüssler's favorite dish (pork tenderloin medallions). Changing the side dish was no problem. The portions were large. The pancake soup is also excellent.

The food tasted very good, but the portions were a joke: 2 spoonfuls of red cabbage, 1 dumpling, and 2 slices of roast pork... You definitely won't get full from that!

Decent food and friendly service. But the prices are a rip off in parts. They charged us 8€ for sharing a main- without notice. Sharing an already very expensive dish. Extra sides 9€- with notice this time. But in my opinion questionable practices and bad value overall.

The restaurant's interior is really beautiful. We love wood paneling and old-fashioned restaurants. Unfortunately, the food wasn't very good. Edible, but not a great experience. The half goose was far too tough and the flavor left much to be desired, and the same goes for the oxtail. Furthermore, upon closer inspection, we found the place a bit dingy, especially around the bar.

A charming, albeit somewhat dated, inn. Good food and friendly service. Despite not having a reservation, we were able to get a table for four, although it was time-limited. Thanks again. Unfortunately, the pictures were only of the courtyard; I didn't take any of the inn itself.

The lamb shank came with a generous side dish and was absolutely delicious. Overall, a truly massive portion that would satisfy anyone.

Good restaurant, but, as I've read in other reviews, the POS didn't work on my night either... hehehe. No receipt. I don't want to judge whether it's authentic or not, but I felt sorry for the restaurant owner, so I played along and paid the requested amount in cash. Obviously, I won't be returning to this restaurant; the food is good, but the service obviously falls short. It's strange that in 2025, people don't understand the fundamentals.

The alcohol in the Aperol Spritz and Limoncello Spritz was unfortunately only present in homeopathic doses. If it had been a beer, one would probably have ordered a "light" one.

Great location, but unfortunately the food isn't good. The dishes were prepared without any care and weren't worth the money. The service was very slow and the staff seemed very stressed when we were there.

The onion roast beef was good. The side salad was expensive at €7.90 and definitely the worst I've ever had. A bit of iceberg lettuce, carrots, coleslaw, and three slices of potato salad (outrageous!). The waiter wasn't very friendly. He noticed the salad wasn't on the bill when we were taking payment, added it in his head, but then entered the difference as an extra tip when he entered the card. Seriously. We had a Christmas party there with over 40 people. Occasionally, some people were out smoking, so the tables were a bit empty. The waiters kept asking if they could take our table with new guests, which was very annoying. I think they scared all 40 of us away from any future visits.

A charming, traditional inn with very friendly service and excellent food! Many dishes are available in smaller portions, and the prices are reasonable. The only thing that bothered me was the curtain at the entrance, which was usually open, so there was always a cold draft at our table whenever the door opened.

A fairly centrally located hotel that's showing its age. You can't really get by without a "premium" room. The breakfast saved the day.

Disappointing food, very little sauce with the duck (and this in Bavarian Swabia!), Maultaschen (Swabian ravioli) at best average. Small portion of soup for the price. The side salad consisted only of iceberg lettuce. Extras overpriced (extra dumplings €4, bread dumplings instead of potato dumplings €2).

Nothing to complain about the welcoming atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff, but Saturday night was a real disaster. The food was wrong and sometimes cold! Unacceptable in a historic place like this. Unfortunately, little or nothing remains of the German restaurant. Needs improvement.

Great Swabian restaurant with friendly service and superb food.

It was great that I discovered it by chance on Maps the day before. The restaurant filled up very quickly from 11:30 am onwards; the locals are clearly aware of the high quality of the food. The food was also prepared very quickly, the dining room is a traditional, cozy room where you feel very comfortable, and the restrooms in the basement were clean.

The food was delicious! However, the service was unfriendly, and drinks weren't brought. Furthermore, the service was poor, and drinks and food items were added to the bill that hadn't arrived.

Unfortunately, the food and service were not good. Perhaps it was too busy on a Saturday night, but I cannot recommend eating here, even though the restaurant was packed.

One of the oldest and, in my opinion, best German restaurants in Augsburg. Reservations are highly recommended, as it's always busy. There were five of us there on the weekend. It was packed, as usual (a bit noisy), but the service was very friendly. I had the onion roast beef with Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle). Simply delicious, as always. Highly recommended.

The waiter with long, curly hair is very friendly and serves drinks. The ladies behind the bar are also great. Food 10/10 🫶🏽

The atmosphere was charming, but the food wasn't very good. My companion's potato dumplings were swimming in an artificial sauce. My pumpkin dish was smothered in a generic packet sauce, the broccoli was very salty, and the whole meal tasted strongly of pre-made ingredients.

The food was good, however the waiter 🤔… was slightly annoyed and I didn't feel particularly welcome.

The Bauerntanz Old Town Inn is Augsburg's oldest inn. The current owners run the establishment very professionally. The location on the Vorderer Lech River regularly draws tourists passing through the Old Town district. Nevertheless, the menu offers down-to-earth fare that's neither expansive nor designed to quickly satisfy tourists—but so good that at least half of the guests are locals. The Bauerntanz Old Town Inn is—in the best sense!—simply a cozy, traditional inn where you can stop in for a beer and a newspaper.

Excellent food. Beautiful location. Unfortunately, it's very crowded. But that's probably because so many people want to use it.

It tasted good, but for the price, a small fillet (pike-perch) was a bit lean...

There were 14 of us there, we had a reservation, and our drinks order was quick, but the food took a while to arrive. The weekly menu is posted on boards outside the restaurant. There's no menu inside, and there's no menu insert either. Everything was delicious and plentiful. We'd be happy to come back.

I visited Bauerntanz again today after many years. The service was very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was rustic, and—most importantly—we all enjoyed the food. It's wonderful to have rediscovered Bauerntanz.

A wonderfully cozy inn in Augsburg's old town. The food was excellent and the portions generous. The service just seemed a bit slow, so our appetizers arrived before our drinks. Nevertheless, it's a real recommendation if you enjoy good, home-style Bavarian-Swabian cuisine.

We spent three days in Augsburg and ate every evening at the Bauerntanz Old Town Inn. The historic atmosphere of one of the city's oldest pubs is impressive. The Bavarian cuisine is outstanding: the freshly roasted pork, the beef cheeks, and the Kaiserschmarrn were particularly delicious. The food is served very quickly—almost too quickly to finish the aperitif, but that's not a criticism. The service is attentive and warm. The prices are absolutely fair and not excessive. We will definitely be back and recommend it to others! Tradition, taste, and atmosphere of the highest order. Hats off to the entire team!

A wonderful experience at a typical German restaurant, with a lovely atmosphere and excellent food and tasty dishes. Fast and very friendly service. Excellent value for money.

Wow. What a remarkable classic Swabian restaurant. We were staying so close to here all week and didn't know this was here. And this tavern has been here for 500 years. Highly recommend.

We went there for lunch today. The service was super fast and very friendly. Prices are on the high side, and the portions are rather small, but the food was great. They could have brought the plates a little more simultaneously, but it was still within reason. A great and, above all, well-organized restaurant.

Good food, great old town ambience and good service.
