Urigen Restaurant mit leckerem Essen und tollem Service. Für Kinder gibt es Spielzeug und wie selbstverständlich den "Räuberteller". Gerne wieder.

Hatte ein wunderbares Jägerfilet mit herausragenden selbstgemachten Spätzle und davor noch einen frischen, leckeren Salat. Alles top, vielen Dank!

Ältere und seit langem familiengeführte, einfache Wirtschaft mit Nebenzimmer. Saisonal kann man auch im Biergarten mit Kastanien bedient werden. Egal ob deutsche oder Balkanküche, geschmeckt hat es uns dort bisher immer gut. Es gibt durchgehend warme Küche. Positiv hervorzuheben ist, dass es von vielen (nicht allen) Gerichten auch etwas kleinere Portionen zu einem günstigeren Preis gibt und der Beilagensalat auf Wunsch kostenfrei dabei ist. - Das muss man bei der Bestellung aber extra dazu sagen. Auch wenn Kartenzahlung seit Abschaffung der "ec-Karte" (Maestro) nicht mehr funktioniert hat, kommen wir gerne wieder und hoffen, dass das Kartenlesegerät künftig auch die neuen Debitkarten bzw. Kreditkarten annehmen wird.

Wir (2 Erwachsene + 1 Kind) waren am 15.5.2026 im Leonardo Hotel in Augsburg und haben am Abend nach einem Restaurant mit bayrischer Küche gesucht. Dabei haben wir Online den Bayerischer Löwe auf der Ulmer Str. gefunden und sind auf gut Glück dort hingegangen. Wir sind sehr freundlich von Eddi begrüßt und haben einen tollen Tisch zugewiesen bekommen (ohne Reservierung und viel Kundschaft). Das tolle Essen kam schnell und es wurde sehr auf die Wünsche unseres Kindes eingegangen. Die Preise sind klasse. Absolute Empfehlung! Viele Grüße vom Niederrhein!

Ausgezeichnetes, traditionelles Restaurant. Die Portionen sind großzügig. Einziger Nachteil: Ausländische Kreditkarten werden nicht akzeptiert.

Wir waren mit zwei Erwachsenen und zwei Kindern dort. Das Essen war sehr gut, ebenso wie das Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Die Bedienung war sehr kinderfreundlich und hat uns neben Spielzeug auch die "kleineren" Speisen empfohlen, die mehr als ausreichend waren. Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Restaurant!

Seit vielen Jahren, Anfang der 80er, kommen wir regelmäßig monatlich zu unserer Vereinsversammlung in dieses Lokal. Das Personal ist immer sehr freundlich und die Speisen hervorragend. Ich bevorzuge die Rinderleber, Rasnici oder Pola Pola und werde davon immer richtig satt. Bis zum nächsten Mal 😊 Macht bitte weiter so !

Lecker und authentisch. Als Jugendlicher habe ich einige Jahresurlaube mit meinen Eltern in Jugoslawien verbracht und dabei das jugoslawische Essen schätzen gelernt. In den 80ern hatten wir in Augsburg eine Reihe jugoslawischer Restaurants und dann war lange Zeit Ebbe. Mit dem Bayerischen Löwen allerdings kehrt diese tolle Kultur zurück. Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend, ist schön angerichtet und erinnert mich an vergangene (Urlaubs-)Zeiten. Das Personal ist flink, freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Das historische Gasthaus vermittelt einen eigenen, sehr gemütlichen Charme und ich habe mich dort sehr wohlgefühlt. Ich komme wieder - klare Empfehlung.

Essen war sehr lecker, Schweinefilet mit Spätzle. Leider hat einiges nicht richtig geklappt, aber der Chef hat es wieder gut gemacht, im gesamt Eindruck, war es wieder gut.

It's a real shame that you can't get food anymore at 8:55 pm. They close at 10:00 pm!

We received a very friendly welcome. The food arrived quickly. The ambiance was very rustic, which isn't necessarily a bad thing; in fact, I thought it had its own unique charm. We liked that. The only thing was that I ordered the salad platter with turkey on a small scale. The portion was still huge, though, and I would have liked a wider variety of salads. The taste was excellent. The turkey wasn't dry at all. My husband was also very happy with his mixed grill. Only the skewer was a little dry. Now for dessert. The chocolate tarts were amazing! The best I've ever eaten! Thumbs up!!

We went there after the game against FC Augsburg. The food was simply superb, very tasty, and reasonably priced. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Good, home-style cooking in a cozy pub setting. Very friendly staff, and truly good, down-to-earth, typically Bavarian food, as well as excellent Balkan specialties. Perfect for family celebrations.

I was there on September 5, 2025, for a meeting with former colleagues – the food was good and plentiful. The food is very good, and the staff friendly and attentive. The value for money is perfectly acceptable, and the food is also reasonably priced. I'd be happy to come back. My bill was, of course, a bit higher due to the beer and plum brandy. 🙊🙉🙈

We spontaneously stopped by the beer garden for lunch during the week. I have to say, the value for money is absolutely spot on. The staff was friendly and quick, the food was truly delicious, and honestly, where else in Augsburg can you find the chance to sit outside under the trees in a beer garden 🤷🏻‍♂️ (even if it's a bit of a backyard). We'd love to come back!

Highly recommended! I've been here several times and have never been disappointed. The food is very good, whether it's German or Balkan cuisine. The prices are also completely reasonable. Very friendly service and usually short wait times. Even if you drop in spontaneously, you can usually get a seat. A lovely restaurant that gives you a bit of an 80s vibe. A great change of pace and it's nice that there are still places like this among the kebab shops on Ulmer Straße.

This was our first visit to the Bayerischer Löwe. It's a bit of a difficult task to rate it 3 or 4 stars. It's an old inn, now apparently under new ownership, offering a mix of Balkan and Bavarian dishes. The soup was quite OK, and the house platter with cevapcici and other dishes was also good. The hunter's pork fillet didn't really resemble fillet. Unfortunately, it was pounded too flat, the sauce wasn't homemade, and the spaetzle were fried/roasted in the pan for too long. Unfortunately, they tasted very "fried." The owner was very nice, but could have been more present. There wasn't much going on that day. The children playing (presumably the boss's) didn't really bother us, but riding their bikes through the restaurant, etc., wasn't necessary. In the end, it's 3 stars. There's still room for improvement.

Unfortunately, a clear no, if it were possible - stars. We were really looking forward to it today. Unfortunately, the waiter wasn't very friendly when we walked in. After about 15 minutes, he came in and was very unfriendly, wearing a dirty top. He simply put the stack of menus down in an unfriendly manner and walked away. After another 15 minutes, there was still no order to be taken. So we left. The tablecloth wasn't clean, and we could see the water damage on the ceiling.

I was there for the first time today. Very nice service. The food was excellent, drinks nice and cold, a small fresh salad first and then the main course. Very tender meat, hot fries and first-class rice. This is how I imagine good food. You can choose between normal and small portions, which was quite enough for my mom. Fresh roast pork and a dumpling. We'll be back!

The service is getting worse and worse, eating takes forever and then the appearance, the children's toys being distributed etc... it's starting to seem really run down, it's a shame. Food is good in itself, if you can get it. Mine was forgotten, I waited for over an hour and then they set it up so that it just happened, and it was absolutely understaffed. The schnitzel was tough. After 15 years we don't want to come back.

We had a very good and plentiful meal here today. For vegetarians there is only cheese spaetzle, but they were great! The landlord is really nice, we would love to come back!

I was there in the evening. As soon as I entered the restaurant I noticed how cold it was in the dining rooms. Apparently there was no heating on or only very little! It was uncomfortable! The food cost almost 20 euros, not good quality, overpriced!

Typical Bavarian restaurant, we ate very well and the prices didn't seem so high. For all courses you can choose the normal or reduced portion. We took the normal one and had a very hard time finishing it. Excellent beer.

Mega!!!! We came across this restaurant spontaneously because we wanted good Bavarian cuisine. It exceeded our expectations. The people there were super friendly and courteous, the service was first class and the taste of the food couldn't be beat. Everything was perfect. The decor was also nice, the beer was also very tasty and the prices were very reasonable. There was even a free salad at the front. We will 10000% be back.

Bei Besuchen in den vergangenen Jahren sind wir zufrieden nach Hause gegangen. Nun müssen wir deutliche Abstriche vornehmen. Die Qualität und Zubereitung der Speisen hat nachgelassen. Am ersten Abend wurden wir (ohne Reservierung) in der Mitte des Gastraums platziert. Die Lärmbelästigung war enorm. Wir wollten dem Löwen eine Rehabilitationschance geben und reservierten für den nächsten Abend einen Tisch am Fenster. Pünktlich eingetroffen hatten zeitgleich andere Gäste (ohne Voranmeldung) am reservierten Tisch Platz genommen. Wir sollten uns erneut in die Mitte des Gastraumes setzen, was wir abgelehnt haben. So pflegt man keine Gastlichkeit und wie wir hörten, scheint diese Praxis im Bayerischen Löwen häufig vorzukommen.

Das Essen ist wirklich gut ! Die Fleischqualität und die Zubereitung bei dem Zwiebelrostbraten und dem Bürgermeister Steak war eines der Besten, die wir in letzter Zeit bekommen haben. Die Preise, sicher- wie überall- etwas höher als früher, aber noch akzteptabel bei dieser Qualitat. Das Mobiliar ist schon in die Tage gekommen aber es strahlt Gemütlichkeit aus ! Das Personal ist freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend !

How people justify the high prices here remains a mystery to me. At least it can't be due to the facility (it feels like it's 50 years old), personnel costs or the quality of the food. The schnitzel for €18 was a disaster. The breading was a mushy paste. Otherwise the plate was overloaded with soft, unseasoned fries.

It was okay, nothing exciting. Kellener was a bit inattentive, even though there was little going on. Chairs outside uncomfortable after a while. We waited in vain for the cushions.

Our first visit to Augsburg. After visiting the zoo, I found the Bavarian lion on the internet. Great ambience, great food, very friendly, all wishes fulfilled. A huge advantage: almost everything is available in small portions. The side salad is served free of charge upon request. A special experience.
