Zeughaus Stuben in Augsburg

I was at this restaurant today with nine other people. Drinks were served once, and then no one asked if we wanted more. The food arrived after an hour and a half (of course, we didn't get a second drink during that time), and children weren't given priority either. The schnitzel is available in a regular and a small portion. I ordered the regular portion, and it was so tiny that I wonder what the small portion looks like. Taste is subjective, but the schnitzel didn't taste good, and the Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) were even worse. When it came time to pay, the card reader malfunctioned, which caused another wait. In short: My day was ruined! I certainly won't be going back to this restaurant.

We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to our table. I would like to take this opportunity to commend the very friendly and attentive waiter. The food was decent, not outstanding, but good, traditional fare and perfectly reasonable for the price. The atmosphere in the Zeughausstuben is rustic and cozy.

We ate here on Sunday around 2 pm. Unfortunately, the food fell far short of our expectations. We tried schnitzel, potato salad, Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle), and Maultaschen (Swabian ravioli). The schnitzel was very greasy, the spaetzle were swimming in cheese sauce, and the Maultaschen were only okay. We've had much better food for the price in Augsburg. The ambiance and service were great!

Food and atmosphere was okay, nothing special. Definitely not special enough for them to charge so much for average food with average quantity. The service here is the worst part. They made us wait almost 3 hours from the time we ordered till the time we received it. To get our order in was another 30 minutes easy. There was no apology, only excuses and the waiter kept trying to push drinks on us while we had to wait for so long. So if you are really hungry, don't go here.

Honestly, one of the worst restaurants in Augsburg. The service is horrible; if they have more than three tables full, they've already short-circuited. If you order one beer, it can take more than 20 minutes to bring it, and it's quite hot. We ordered two soups, and they were inedible. In fact, we returned them because they both tasted sour, as if they'd been in the pot for days. They told us that's what the soup should taste like; they were trying to make us look foolish. We'd only tasted it, and they told us we had to pay for it, and we had to threaten to call the Gesundheitsamt so they wouldn't charge us. Almost every time I've gone for a drink there, they've tried to sneak in more wines/beers/soft drinks on the bill than we ordered. I could tell a thousand things about this. In short, I've given them plenty of chances, so I'm not going back.

Bad food, warm beer, chaos with the payment, the only good thing were the fries with ketchup from the children.

We loved this place. We'd been wandering around Augsburg for a while but had never visited it. Today we were pleasantly surprised. It has a cozy style, a pleasant atmosphere, and delicious food.

The waiters weren't particularly motivated or attentive. We would have liked a drink, but were ignored.

I suspect this place has seen better days. The staff aren't interested in the customers, and the portion of the "veal schnitzel" is extremely small, and the meat probably wasn't pounded. The fries are very cheap. The only thing that tastes good is the beer. Unfortunately, it's very disappointing.

We came to brunch with our families after our civil wedding. The organization and service were excellent. Ms. Horn took great care of everything beforehand and even arranged special decorations for our guests. We would like to take this opportunity to personally thank her again. We also received absolutely everything we needed, especially in terms of price. Our guests felt extremely comfortable, and the food was delicious and served promptly. We would like to thank you again for the day and would be happy to come again.

Mostly positive. The food is good, there are occasional communication issues with the service, but that's probably the case in this industry these days. The ambiance is unique—both in the beer garden and inside. Prices are a bit high.

I ordered the Brauer Burger. The burger was large and very tasty. I swapped the fries for fried potatoes. They tasted good, but they could have been a bit crispier. For dessert, I ordered apple strudel. I waited about 45 minutes, but it was very tasty. The main course came fairly quickly. The service was nice. If I'm in Augsburg again, I can imagine coming back.

We visited the beer garden, which is relatively large and partially shaded by trees, and generally very inviting. The menu includes typical brewery dishes; we opted for Maultaschen (swabian ravioli) and Trout Müller-style. Both dishes were very tasty. Unfortunately, the service had a few weaknesses; you always had to ask for attention before being served.

Probably the worst spätzle I have had since arriving in Germany. I ordered the Wild Garlic and pretty sure I was given Spinach. When I asked about it the waitress told me she knows better than me. cheese spaetzle was terrible too. Service was terrible. Do not reccomend

During an evening stroll, combined with a spontaneous search for a restaurant, we came to the Zeughaus. The beautiful beer garden under these lovely chestnut trees immediately appealed to us. Due to the weather, we then went to eat at the restaurant. Very nice and simple, with a rustic charm without any excessive frills. The staff all greeted us immediately with a smile and were very polite. The drinks we ordered arrived very quickly, and the food was also at our table within a reasonable time (according to the preparation time). Very delicious, the meat was cooked to perfection, the sauce was flavorful and well-seasoned. The Maultaschen (swabian pasta) were simply fresh and delicious, as was the potato salad. The waiters were always nearby, asking if we were enjoying our meal or if we needed anything else. We were very satisfied and would recommend the Zeughaus again and again.

The restaurant is cozy, and the service is fast and good. The food wasn't quite as good as it was a year ago. I had the vegan Maultaschen (swabian pasta) with salad. The portion was smaller and unfortunately only lukewarm. The Maultaschen were a convenience product (which I already knew 🤷‍♀️), but there are better tasting options. The salad was fresh, and you can't go wrong with balsamic vinegar and oil.

We had dinner on a sunny day in the historic, very beautiful, and shady courtyard. That was the only good thing. Perhaps a bad day...? In any case, one of the staff barely understood German. When served, something that had been specifically ordered was missing, and by the time it arrived, the Viennese veal schnitzel was lukewarm. It was inedible anyway. The meat was old, dry, and marbled; the poor breading fell off completely, and the portion was very small. Complaints were met with a shrug. Never again for us!

The entire plate of schnitzel was returned; the meat was tough and had a strange taste, as did the potato salad and medallions... the meat was somehow bad. The fish plate, well, gave me a bad stomach ache afterward. The waiter was okay... the beer garden was nice...

Drinks were forgotten, despite repeated requests, even though other tables were receiving drinks. The food was lukewarm and underseasoned. The ambiance is very nice, but the restaurant is very loud. We were very disappointed.

If you want to enjoy amazing food in Augsburg, this is the place. Just… make sure you have the patience of a Buddhist monk and as much free time as a mini vacation. We arrived, sat down… and the first challenge began - “The Quest for the Menu.” Twenty minutes later, the waiter finally appeared, as if he had walked all the way from Munich. Another twenty minutes just to take our order - I assume he had to consult an astrologer for the right timing. When we asked for a dessert menu, it simply never happened. Gone. Vanished. A myth! I had to look it up online, and after another twenty minutes, miracle - someone passed by our table, and we managed to order. The waiter didn’t speak a word of English all evening, but when the bill came, suddenly he spoke! He even started asking questions… Apparently, the language of tips is universal. Sadly for him - no tip this time. Food - outstanding. Service - entertaining, as long as you’re not in a hurry and enjoy watching time pass.

We've been to the Zeughausstube several times and can say that the food is quite good. The staff is mostly very friendly; one particularly charming waitress recognized us immediately on our second visit and greeted us warmly.

The restaurant boasts a large, beautiful garden under shady trees—a true treat on hot summer days. There are plenty of tables and plenty of seating; the interior is also spacious, and the restrooms are large and well-maintained. The food is well-prepared, and almost everyone will find something to their liking. The service is quite prompt and friendly. The prices are in line with what is typical for most restaurants of this category.

Good food. Initially, we had to wait quite a while for service, even though it wasn't busy; the lady preferred to chat. But after our orders were taken, everything was fine, including the service :)

We had the turkey strips with rice; I thought four pieces of turkey was a bit small. It tasted very good.

A beer garden as it should be: sitting in the shade under the trees in the backyard, you can enjoy your meal or a fresh beer.... Restrooms are very clean, a full 5 stars for ambiance and condition.... Unfortunately, the service wasn't that good. We had to wait a long time before anyone even bothered to serve us, and then it took some time for our order to finally arrive at our table. The food's value for money wasn't particularly good, but the food itself was really delicious.... Therefore, only 4 stars in the overall rating.

The worst German food ever! Who ever prepared the coleslaw must be hate the restaurant or the boss so much, TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much wasabi or radish sauce, it's impossible to eat, try it for your own risk!!! I had schnitzel with fries. Nothing special, but the meat was tough and lacked flavor. The biggest problem, however, was accessing the accessible restroom on the first floor. The elevator wasn't working. Nobody cared. Therefore, my first visit today was also my last. As a wheelchair user, I felt like a second-class citizen.

Nice place to eat, even with a large group (100 people). Good, fast, and competent service. Highly recommended.

The Zeughaus Stuben is a truly lovely inn located near Königsplatz 😍 The food is unfortunately just okay. The beer is delicious. In summer, you can also sit in the beer garden 🍻

Well I was there at one time and sat there only in the beer garden unfortunately I can't say anything about the food and service because it was 7.30 in the morning but nobody said anything about me sitting there even though they saw me I thought it was very nice there

The price-performance ratio is no longer acceptable, the meat is of poor quality, and some people had stomach upsets after eating. Service is abysmal. For me, there's no reason to go there anymore.

The ambiance of the historic building is quaint and cozy, and the beer garden and courtyard behind the house are lovely. The food is okay, but takes a long time to serve. The beer is good, the wine not so much. The restrooms aren't great and weren't cleaned. The service was attentive and friendly, but slow.

Beautifully located with plenty of shade in a historic setting. Large sign saying "no public restroom"; unfortunately, the entire basement and restaurant areas smell like one. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress us. The roast beef with onions was very dry, unseasoned, and very few side dishes. For €27.90, that's bordering on a disgrace. Unfortunately, the Wiener Schnitzel didn't live up to its price either. For children, only spaetzle with sauce was served, and otherwise very inflexible. Service was very unenthusiastic; we felt more like a disruption to everyday work than a welcome guest. This was our second time dining here, and unfortunately, our experience was similar to the last time. More for tourists than locals. By the way, to pay, we had to trudge through the stench of urine into the scullery because the card machine's battery was dead.

Unfortunately, we had to wait forever for our order and couldn't order anything else. Otherwise, it's actually a very nice, shady beer garden.

Two stars with a lot of goodwill. The Zeughaus Stuben scores primarily for its location – it's actually not that easy to find an outdoor dining area serving Bavarian-Swabian cuisine in Augsburg's city center. The beer garden in front of the Zeughaus Stuben, with its beautiful chestnut trees and a play area for children, is truly an exception. However, the service during our visit yesterday with our two boys was exceptionally poor. First of all, it wasn't full; there were quite a few free tables, presumably because the majority of Augsburgers were out enjoying the Augsburg summer nights. The drinks arrived 15 minutes after ordering. The first (!) meal – a salad – arrived 30 minutes later. After my wife had eaten that, the schnitzel for the two boys arrived, and another 5 minutes later, my roast pork. This was definitely not how I imagined a shared meal. Not a word of apology – when asked about it, all I got was "That's what it's like from the kitchen." Eventually, it was time to pay – and again, it took almost 20 minutes from the moment I was notified until I was allowed to pay. With two little boys who should have been in bed by now, such a wait was doubly annoying. Again, of course, no apology. And again, you seriously wonder why you're going out to eat for 70 euros when you're just going to get annoyed! The food, by the way, was okay – my wife's salad didn't look that great, but it tasted good, and at least they didn't include the notorious iceberg lettuce. The roast pork was a little dry, but okay for the price. The side potato salad tasted more like canned food (= convenience food). I don't need to have it again anytime soon.

The food was very poorly presented (mustard and ketchup in sachets), the portions were too small for the price, the taste was very mediocre, and the male waitresses were extremely taciturn. It's a shame, because the ambiance is very pleasant.

Even though the beer garden was very nice, the service there was unfortunately disastrous. Repeat orders were difficult because the waiters took a long time to arrive or simply walked by. Unfortunately, the food was not very tasty, and the seasoning was almost completely missing.

There, we attended a performance by the AJB (Augsburg Youth Ballet) on the day of the "Long Night of Art" and were deeply impressed by the performance of the 14- to 18-year-old ballet artists, and moved to tears (more than a few). The performance about Auschwitz, in a ballet-like presentation about the orphan 615 based on true events, was a difficult subject but superbly presented. My wife and I were very impressed.

The beer garden is beautifully situated under the trees. But the wait time was incredibly long. We waited 30 minutes for drinks and almost 1.5 hours for the food. The salad was edible, but it came with the wrong dressing and wilted lettuce leaves. It wasn't particularly appetizing and, for the price, a real disgrace. The service was overwhelmed and unfriendly; it probably wasn't their fault, as there weren't enough staff for too many customers. This was definitely our first and last time there.

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe da und wurden als erstes in den Saal gelotst („dort ist reserviert“), obwohl es superheiss und der Biergarten nahezu leer war. Wer draußen blieb, wurde nicht bedient. Bei der Reservierung war freie Wahl aus der Speisekarte fest vereinbart worden. Einige Tage vor dem Termin musste dann plötzlich doch schon am Vortag das Essen ausgesucht werden. Im Lokal wurden wir dann nicht mehr nach den tatsächlichen Wünschen gefragt, sondern die Bedienungen liefen mit den jeweils fertigen Speisen an unseren Tischen vorbei und suchten Abnehmer. Danach nahm der Service stark ab, obwohl das Lokal bei weitem nicht voll war - zum Bestellen weiterer Getränke mussten wir erst eine Bedienung suchen. Ach ja, das Essen war ok, aber bei diesem Preisniveau wäre etwas mehr zu erwarten gewesen….

Nice ambiance. Food is expensive, but very mediocre. Unfortunately, the service is extremely overwhelmed. Things are constantly being forgotten or mixed up. Tables are dirty, cutlery is dirty, and spice shakers are filthy.

First of all, I have to say that the Wiener Schnitzel here doesn't deserve its name. The ready-made schnitzel at any chip shop is better... The pancake soup doesn't really deserve its name in terms of taste either, but it's also reasonably priced. The staff are like robots; you don't notice any emotions, neither positive nor negative. The sad thing is that the ambiance is historic and wonderfully beautiful. It's a real shame!

Not recommended! There were six of us in the beer garden, we ordered six meals, and only four came. The waiter was completely overwhelmed. When we asked, he said the other meals would be coming soon. After an hour and a vehement complaint, they finally arrived. The promised free dessert as compensation never arrived. We ended up not having to pay for the two meals that were delivered late. But the evening was ruined. The food was okay, but nothing more. This was our last visit to this restaurant!

We spontaneously stopped by the beautiful beer garden for a half-pint – which turned into two because the atmosphere is simply so cozy. The old chestnut trees, the lovely large seating, and the historic building invite you to linger. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and the restrooms were clean. We didn't have anything to eat. However, the dishes that passed us by smelled delicious; they were a visual dream :)

A lovely beer garden in the heart of town. We sat inside this time, though. While it's quaint, it's very echoey, making conversation difficult. The service has been better, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the Kässpatzen (cheese spaetzle).

The courtyard in front of the Zeughausstuben is a beautiful spot. It's a pleasant place to sit when the weather is nice. The food is generally good, but the quality of the veal schnitzel varies greatly. It ranges from first-class to "just about eatable." On my last visit, it was not only tough but also almost burnt. The service is actually very good, too. However, there seems to be a shortage of staff. It often takes a very long time for the always friendly and helpful employees to show up, take orders, and bring the food. The longest waits are when it comes to paying. Unfortunately, this repeatedly tarnishes the otherwise positive overall impression.

Was there for the second time now. Ordered potato salad with veal schnitzel today. Potatoes totally bitter, pure vinegar… I then asked for spaetzle instead. Similar problem. Far too greasy and inedible. Cream sauce in the medallion pan could be compared to soup. Ordered drinks were forgotten... Overall, unfortunately not at all satisfactory.

Nice historical place. The food is OK. The service is quick and friendly. The beer was very tasty. However, the acoustics could be improved. Which is probably due to the old walls. The beer garden is very cozy. The children also get their money's worth with the beautiful play tower. I really enjoy going there with my family.

Good morning, The food was extremely enjoyable, although there wasn't enough coleslaw and pepper added to it. I found the rest of the food and the ambience excellent and really enjoyed satisfying my hunger here.

We were very positively surprised to find out that food prices are 50% off between 14:00 and 18:00!!

You can clearly notice the Seferi influence and you can't expect any highlights in terms of taste. You can clearly taste the taste of convenience products, there is little that is homemade. My burger was so drowned in fat that all you could taste was the fat. The waitress was nice and friendly, just not critical. In addition, requests for changes were accommodated for an additional charge (a veggy Maultaschen was ordered instead of a normal Maultaschen). Had to ask for cutlery. I won't come back until it's no longer under this management.

I had to wait 70 minutes for this plate, I understand when there's a lot going on and only 2 waiters and a very friendly temporary worker can't keep up, but it's great weather, EM 2021, people are all going out after the Corona lockdown. My wife had her Kasspatzn after 40 minutes.... Either she eats it cold or I just wait... Which manager screws up something like that? This time the blame lies not with the staff but with the incompetent managing director.... Food was quite good, a bit expensive... Beer also more like Munich prices... In Augsburg xD. Was there on Sunday evening. According to the signs, the hot kitchen closes at 9 p.m. and the restaurant closes at 11 p.m. However, at 8:40 p.m. we were asked to pay because the restaurant would close at 9 p.m. Neither the call for the last round nor any other explanation for the earlier closing times are just an example of the generally very lackluster service. The roast was delicious, with a very good crust, unfortunately a bit dry at the end, like the pork medallions. Spinach cheese spaetzle and cheese spaetzle are outstandingly good! Unfortunately, spelled spaetzle has no taste and is dry. If we want to eat spaetzle here again, then ToGo.

Everything tasted good. There wasn't much going on in the restaurant, but the service was still slightly unfriendly. Therefore a star deduction. She was probably having a bad day.

The food is very good, unfortunately a bit expensive. On my last visit I felt a little pressured to order something even though I said my companion would be back in a few minutes. I was still asked 5 times what I wanted to order before my companion got back. I ordered an iced tea. This was served with berries and this type of iced tea is not available everywhere. It was clear that they didn't buy it but prepared it themselves. Years ago I also tried another dish and it tasted surprisingly excellent. Overall recommended as the food there is really good.
