We celebrated our wedding in the castle restaurant. The communication and organization with Ms. Nemeth was very straightforward and extremely friendly. The entire staff was always helpful and the food was excellent. If we could give more than five stars, we would. 😉

A really nice place with good food in a quiet, upscale atmosphere. The highlight is that there were gluten-free and dairy-free options. We had the Viennese fried chicken and a Viennese schnitzel.

We had our company party here in January. The food was a poem and tasted very good. The service was also very courteous and friendly. We felt comfortable here and will definitely recommend the Wellenburg Castle Restaurant.

Arrived in the afternoon, the kitchen was actually closed. But a very tasty Kaiserschmarrn was prepared for us😊. Very friendly service. The beer garden in summer has potential, but the portions are often small, standard food, stressed staff. Keep it up, but improve the beer garden in summer😉. Then we will become regulars!

Nach einem Waldspaziergang sind wir in der Schlossgaststätte eingekehrt und haben dort sehr lecker gegessen. Es gab eine Tageskarte mit österreichischen Speisen, aus der wir uns Vorspeise und Hauptgang gewählt haben. Vogerlsalat und Salonbeuscherl haben wunderbar geschmeckt und auch das vegetarische Einkorn-Risotto hat meiner Freundin sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir können Wellenburg nur empfehlen.

We were actually always enthusiastic on site, as a celiac disease patient I always found something... But what we have experienced now is the last straw. Order schnitzel gluten-free, the side dishes open and I choose spaetzle. It wouldn't be the case that normal schnitzel isn't available with side dishes So with GF I assumed that everything was GF and was marked What came... Spätzle not GF and Schnitzel GF in one package... No insight when complaining. Just saying what a tough few weeks you've had and guests often order one thing and the other. Sorry cheeky and then the lady just hung up. It's already hard enough to find something for those with a celiac disease, but that just confirms that the restaurant simply doesn't have a plan and when you ask and point it out, they just react rudely. The incident will be reported more clearly in the appropriate place marked gluten-free so it must be delivered that way.

Abendessen | 30–40 € Wir waren vor Ort eigentlich immer begeistert , ich als Zöliakie Patient fand immer was … Was wir jetzt aber erlebt haben schlägt dem Fass den Boden aus . Bestellung Schnitzel Glutenfrei , es öffnen sich die Beilagen und ich wähle Spätzle . Es wäre nicht so das es nicht normale Schnitzel auch gibt mit Beilagen Also ging ich bei GF davon auch aus das alles GF ist war ja gekennzeichnet Was kam … Spätzle nicht GF und Schnitzel GF in einer Packung … Beim reklamieren keine Einsicht . Nur die Aussage was für harte Wochen man hatte und Gäste bestellen oft das eine so das andere so . Sorry frech und dann legte die Dame einfach auf . Für ins Zölis schon schwer genug was zu finden aber das bestätigt es einfach nur noch das die Gastro einfach kein Plan hat und wenn man fragt und drauf hinweist nur noch pampig reagiert . Der Vorfall wird eindeutiger sich an der passenden Stelle gemeldet Glutenfrei gekennzeichnet also muss es auch geliefert sein so .

Always very tasty. Onion roast and also the cheese sparrows are highly recommended and we will continue to order them again and again.

Wir waren mit Freunden an einem Freitagabend in Wellenburg und haben eine Gans vorbestellt gehabt. Die Gans war super frisch und lecker und von der Größe genau richtig für 4 Erwachsene. Die Beilagen Rotkraut, Kartoffelklöße und viel Sauce waren ein Gedicht! Wir werden das in der Vorweihnachtszeit definitiv nochmal machen und zum Gansessen nach Wellenburg fahren.

Thank you for the beautiful wedding celebration. Everything worked great there. From the planning to the celebration, everything was excellent. Thanks to the kitchen for the excellent menu, to the service for the good hospitality and overall to the Nemeth family for the lovely day.

There has been a sharp decline, but in return prices have risen sharply and they have also switched from service to self-service. It was our last visit, in the future we will go to the Klosterstüble in Oberschönefeld in Gessertshausen. 1000x better 😉

The drinks prices for a beer garden are ok, you can't say anything about that. Unfortunately, we weren't a bit disappointed when we ate 😞 some portions didn't match the size of the prices. Prices too high, portions too small. If you come through it's still a nice beer garden to sit in.

I've been here for many years and was actually really disappointed. I learned from the information on the website that I had to order and pick up food at a counter in the beer garden and STILL had no problems with that. My main course, a Greek salad, was neither outstanding in terms of taste (for me it just tasted like the individual components) and was really poor in quantity. My friend ordered a side salad and it actually came in the same plate. Then I was really annoyed. Unfortunately I can't post a photo here because I took a photo of my hand for size comparison. But I paid almost 14 euros for it, WITHOUT service. Of course, I was also “allowed” to clean up my plates and cutlery; I was asked to sort everything separately. Staff was friendly during the ordering process. I can't judge more because it's self-service. The ambience in the beer garden is fine and shady, which is beneficial in hot temperatures. Conclusion: I went home with a growling stomach to satisfy my hunger and was annoyed that I paid almost 14 euros for this salad. Something like this hasn't happened to me in years...

Were in the beer garden yesterday, drinks and the prices were great. Staff absolutely great. Now unfortunately for the negative. Unfortunately we were absolutely disappointed with the food. The portions in the beer garden were extremely small. The Kässpatzen were just as large in quantity as the children's portion of dumplings. Unfortunately, the sausage salads were also disappointing. In the side salad (which wasn't big anyway, there was a large piece of stalk with the spaetzle) We had to cook again at home after dinner. The gravy was watery. We'd love to come back to drink, but we won't eat anymore. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the money in any way. I was so looking forward to it.

The nature park is a great little excursion destination for forest hiking, mini golf or cycling and this little stop is right in the middle, always happy to have a cold drink and a sausage salad

Beautiful, large and fenced beer garden in Wellenburg (restaurant was not in operation). Food and drinks can be ordered here at a counter. You get a piece of paper and a digital display shows you when it is ready to be picked up. The location is also suitable for tackling various hiking routes. There is a mini golf course directly opposite.

Well, not much choice, prices ok. It's nice to sit (warning: wasps). It's nice to go for a walk in the area

Due to the nice weather there was quite a lot going on. Nevertheless, it didn't take long until the tasty food was ready. Unfortunately the portions (roast pork) were a bit small for a good and hungry guest. But it's better to have something less and good than the other way around.

The ambience is great, the restaurant is under a large tree shade. Drinks and food are self-service. I ordered schnitzel and it tastes subpar. But very good for cyclists!

Super nice, food was delicious. Extremely many wasps (but nobody can do anything about that) Service was very helpful. In other words, put elderberry syrup on a plate to keep the wasps away from the table

The concept is self-service, but in my opinion this doesn't fit with the pricing. You have to serve yourself and cater yourself, but you pay the same price as in a better restaurant with waiters. Too many wasps for my taste, at least 5 that end up on the table or in the drink.

The behavior of the landlady at the bar is unbelievable. I come to the beer garden at 8:29 p.m. By the time I get to the checkout she tells me that there will be no more food after 8:30 p.m. Then she asks me why I make such a grumpy face and tells me that I should show the staff a little more friendliness. They deserved more respect after the hard work of building their gourmet restaurant. The food is standard (schnitzel, roast pork, sausage salad). If the guests aren't friendlier, they'll have to close because they won't have any more staff!

Ambience really nice. The “fried chicken with homemade potato salad” was okay. That's why I would definitely come back rather not. I'm not so sure whether there's really anything homemade there. At a price of €18 I would have expected a little more.

It's nice in the beer garden and everything is well organized. Unfortunately it is closed on Monday and Tuesday. There is nothing on the internet about the rest days.

Food in the beer garden, delicious, good atmosphere

Was in the Wellenburg castle restaurant for the first time yesterday. I am very positively surprised. The Kässpatzn were AMAZING. Finally a landlord who uses really good cheese for the sparrows and not just the cheapest Emmentaler from the metro. The spleen sausage was also very good, the sauce was good and the potato salad was perfect. What really thrilled me was the Tyrolean Radler (Helles with Almdudler). The only small drawback was the cleanliness of the tables. A bit of work needs to be done here. We will come back. Absolutely recommended.

Amazingly good and quick cuisine. Great bread (which unfortunately you can't buy) and great wines. It's a shame that it rained on Monday and we couldn't go back

This is how you annoy customers: Because the electric rollator only had a small amount of charge left in the battery after the outward journey, we politely asked at the food counter if we could recharge it: the boss refused us! It's a shame about the beautiful beer garden - and we won't see it again! July 17, 2024 addition Dear team Wellenburg, The way you write in your answer was our expectation, otherwise we would not have considered visiting with a walker. Unfortunately, from our perspective, the short visit went differently: My wife asked at the checkout first. They said it was so busy and she should wait or ask someone else. So she went to the food counter, where - reserved as she is - she wasn't noticed at first. So I went to the employee there and asked. He said he had to ask the boss about that. OK. It took two or three minutes before he answered: “Boss said no.” Then we left. The whole matter may have been a big misunderstanding, but within your team, not with us: there was no promise or offer of help (which would not have been necessary) to us.

The beer garden just keeps getting better! And it's really nice to sit under the old chestnut tree...

Biergarten mit Kastanienbäumen. Optimal wenn es heiß ist, da sie Naturschatten spenden. Das Backhendl ist der Hammer! Service sehr freundlich.

Meiner Meinung nach der beste Biergarten in Augsburg. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr lecker und das Personal super freundlich. Wir haben leckeren Wurstsalat bekommen und es gibt einige österreichische Spezialitäten wie Wiener Backhähnchen oder Käsekrainer auf der Karte, die man sonst nicht so bekommt. Meine Frau als Vegetarierin hatte auch eine ausreichend große Auswahl. Wir kommen gerne mit Freunden hier her - auch auf eine runde Minigolf gegenüber

Ein super Biergarten! Wir sind öfters in Augsburg unterwegs, aber der Biergarten Wellenburg hat mit Abstand das beste Speisenangebot und schönste Ambiente. Es gibt für jeden Geldbeutel etwas zu essen und die Bierpreise sind angemessen. Wir kommen gerne nach Wellenburg!

Wir waren im Biergarten. Bestellt hatten wir einen Wurstsalat und einen Salat mit Pute. Nach geschlagenen 45 Minuten wurde unsere Nummer noch nicht angezeigt, was bedeutete das wir unser Essen noch nicht hatten . Anzumerken ist das unserer Speisen hoch kompliziert zum herstellen sind. Kühlschrank auf Wurstsalat auf den Teller, ein Paar Zwiebelringen dazu, tja, für dieses Personal wahrscheinlich über der Grenze des Machbaren. Lange Rede kurzer Sinn, werde dieses Etablissement meiden kann sollte es meiden wenn er den Anspruch hat ganz normal die bezahlte Leistung in Anspruch zu nehmen. Einfach nur unterirdisch.

We celebrated our wedding there a month ago. We had our own room and the terrace. Ms. Nemeth was simply great with the organization, coordination and preparations. She was able to give us so many tips and helped us a lot with how the day went and choosing what to eat. On the day of our celebration, the Nemeth family and team were simply great!!! Nice beer garden, food ok, lots of mosquitoes at the moment

After a long time we went mini golfing again in Wellenburg. Unfortunately, you can really see how many years the cable cars have had under their belt... but for 4 euros you can still treat yourself to a round of fun 🤗

The food there is too overpriced

Very nice beer garden on the outskirts of Augsburg. There are lots of shaded areas and you always get a spot. The food itself tastes okay, but is now very expensive. The choice is large; from salad, fish, meat patties to schnitzel. There is a children's box with nuggets and fries, a small drink (tetra pack), a lolly and a small toy for just under €10. There are plenty of parking spaces, as are bicycle spaces. The toilets are very well maintained.

Way too expensive. Staff unfriendly. Drinks menu with prices only after explicit request => attempted fraud!

Nice beer garden but food wasn't particularly good

Very nice atmosphere in the countryside with a great playground for the little ones. Unfortunately the food ran out quickly and I personally am not a fan of self-service. Otherwise, I would recommend the beer garden at any time :)

We ate here twice in the last week. The first time, just great food...the B sample was even better. A great restaurant in a perfect location.

Typically Bavarian beer garden with self-service. The beer garden is beautifully located directly on the street of the Fugger Castle. Well suited for hikers and cyclists.

I was able to celebrate my birthday in the castle guest towns. Everything was perfect, from the communication in advance to the food and the service. All of this at fair prices overall. In summer, the beer garden is always a nice starting point for excursions into the western forests.

Sehr gemütliches Ambiente, nette Bedienung, vorzügliches, perfekt zubereitetes Essen ( beim letzten Besuch ein echtes 5-Sterne-Menue)

Ich schreibe sehr gerne sehr gute Bewertungen, wie ihr in meinem Profil sicher sehen könnt. In diesem Fall gelingt mir das leider nicht. Sonntag, Wanderung, Durst. Wir kommen zu zweit und an der Treppe erwartet uns ein Auszubildender, dem ich an dieser Stelle keinen Vorwurf mache. Wir wollten nur was trinken. Er musste allerdings in der Küche nachfragen und kam mit der Antwort zurück, dass es für uns keinen Platz gäbe. Dies habe er an diesem Tag schon mehreren Gästen mitteilen müssen. Der Gastraum war nicht wirklich gefüllt, als wir nun unverrichteter Dinge wieder abgezogen sind, kam die Wirtin uns hinterher. Sie versuchte uns davon zu überzeugen, dass dieses Vorgehen schon gerechtfertigt sei - lange Rede kurzer Sinn: wir durften nicht rein. Dass dies ein Ausflugslokal ist, in dem über viele Jahre die Gastlichkeit gepflegt wurde, dies ist leider die Vergangenheit. Sorry, aber ich bin wirklich enttäuscht. Ich ergänze hier noch kurz meine Bewertung als Reaktion auf die Antwort der Wirtin: Ich kann der Forderung, meine Bewertung zu überdenken, nicht nachkommen, da es sich so zugetragen hat. Leider setzt sich Ihre direkte Art der Kommunikation in Ihrer schriftlichen Antwort fort. Ich verstehe die Motive und die Sorge die sie antreiben - diese wird sich aber sicher nicht verbessern, wenn Sie Ihre Gäste derart behandeln.
