A beer garden you'll want to visit again and again. Good food, reasonable prices.

Vegan chicken wasn't available, the vegetable patty was too salty, too sour, and undercooked. The turkey schnitzel with fries was okay. Plus, there was a lot of car traffic.

Great atmosphere and good food! The only disappointing dish so far was the salad, as the meat and sauce were far too thin. All the other dishes, like the currywurst, schnitzel, and fried chicken, are highly recommended 😊

We had lunch at the Wellenburg Castle Restaurant on Father's Day and had a wonderful time. Our little one had a wonderful, sturdy, and clean wooden highchair, and we were given a lovely table by the window. The tables in the spacious, bright, and cozy dining room were discreetly decorated, and everything blended together perfectly. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, and we felt very welcome, even with our toddler. As a welcome from the kitchen, we had delicious pork lard with various rolls. The waiter even brought more bread for our little one, who was delighted :) We had Stroganoff-style fillet tips with hash browns and a wild herb salad; both were delicious. The caramelized Kaiserschmarrn for dessert, with apricot and plum compote, was also impressive. For sun worshippers: You can also sit outside on a lovely green terrace. Update August 2025: Today we went to the beer garden for dinner with a family friend. The beer garden has plenty of seating and a small playground with a sandbox and climbing frame for the kids. The foosball table was also very popular :) The food was delicious, and we didn't have to wait too long for it. There's a large selection of hot dishes, snacks, and children's meals. Upon request, they even offer some gluten- and lactose-free dishes, which I was very pleased about :) There's a separate deep fryer and breaded dishes, for example, schnitzel can also be ordered gluten-free. All the staff were super friendly, and we felt very comfortable. We'll definitely be back!!!

The food in the beer garden was mediocre. Foreign objects (bristles and something metallic) were found in both dishes. Service was pleasant, but overwhelmed. The once beautiful chestnut trees had only brown, withered leaves by August. I have no idea whether pest infestation or drought is the cause, but the owner should take care of these old, beautiful trees.

We were guests at the Wellenburg Castle Restaurant with 17 people for a company anniversary. The menu suggestions proposed by the Nemeth family and the execution in the kitchen were excellent. The drinks and service also deserve 5 stars. A definite recommendation! We would be happy to return.

No. A Tyrolean Gröstel for €13 is way too expensive. I stared at the display for 48 minutes waiting for it to be picked up, then I asked at the food counter... and, surprise, it was already cold. Gröstel: burnt fried potatoes made from two small potatoes, about 50 grams of meatloaf in chunks, a fried egg on top. Served with a squashed mini salad. Cost of goods: about €2. We don't recommend this beer garden because of the disastrous food quality, exorbitant sales prices, and the high noise level from the integrated playground. We've known this restaurant for 14 years, and our conclusion: it's getting worse and worse!

We held our company summer party in the beer garden of the Wellenburg Castle Restaurant, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable, the buffet was perfectly planned, and the location was perfect—especially for the many children who attended. We highly recommend the castle restaurant and will definitely be back sometime. Thanks to the team for the fantastic evening.

Sorry, you can't offer the Bavarian sausage salad "soup" to anyone. You should be aware of that. Otherwise, it's nice and refreshing in the summer heat when everything's cooking.

Perfect for a break during a bike ride. A lovely self-service beer garden. A large food and drink menu, so everyone will find something they like. Prices are perfectly reasonable. Restrooms are plentiful and very clean! Both the aspic and the sausage salad were generous portions and delicious with fresh homemade bread! We'll be back 👍👍👍

Hier kann man bei einem kühlen Aperol unter Kastanien entspannen und dazu auch super lecker essen. Wir kommen regelmäßig in den Biergarten Wellenburg und sind jedes mal begeistert von den Speisen, die für einen Biergarten, definitiv über dem Durchschnitt liegen. Gerade die Tageskarte hat immer wieder gutes zu bieten, dass wir sonst nur aus dem Restaurant kennen. Wir können den Biergarten Wellenburg nur weiterempfehlen.

A beautifully located self-service beer garden. The dishes on offer are tasty, but not always as advertised on the menu. If it says mustard and horseradish, I'd gladly have both on my plate, even without asking. Liptauer without bread is also interesting. You can get the bread upon request. But there's always a wait, as the kitchen staff is alone and seemingly overwhelmed. And that's already at half capacity. Perhaps there's room for improvement.

The food was absolutely fantastic – every course was a delight! The service was attentive, professional, and incredibly friendly. Everything was executed exactly as we had hoped. Thanks to the wonderful team at the Schlossgaststätte Wellenburg, we had an absolutely perfect day that we will remember forever. Thank you for this unforgettable experience!

Wir waren als Familie mit dem Radl zum Abendessen im Biergarten Wellenburg und hatten einen rundum gelungenen Abend. Die Atmosphäre unter den alten Kastanien ist einfach herrlich – typisch bayerisch, gemütlich und sehr einladend. Das Personal war durchweg freundlich und aufmerksam, obwohl der Biergarten gut besucht war. Das Essen war frisch, lecker und kam zügig – besonders die Schnitzel und der Liptauer haben uns überzeugt. Auch für die Kinder war gesorgt: Der Spielplatz in Sichtweite der Tische war ein echtes Highlight und hat den Erwachsenen ein entspanntes Essen ermöglicht. Ein toller Ort für Familien, um einen entspannten Abend bei gutem Essen und in schöner Umgebung zu genießen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Cold cheese patties, cutlery suddenly empty, schnitzel doesn't taste fresh and portions far too small. If you want to eat well, you should go somewhere else.

Kässpatzen waren kalt, Schnitzel schmeckt nicht frisch zubereitet, Zu wenig Besteck. Wer gut essen will, sollte wo anders hingehen. Preis in Ordnung, aber lecker ist was anderes…

The perfect alternative if you want to order for home and not just pizza or kebab. The onion roast is medium rare, the Kaiserschmarrn is like on holiday in Austria. Super tasty. Fast delivery, friendly driver, gladly 5 stars.

We celebrated our wedding in the castle restaurant. The communication and organization with Ms. Nemeth was very uncomplicated and extremely friendly. The entire staff was always helpful and the food was excellent. If we could give more than five stars we would. 😉

Nach einem Waldspaziergang sind wir in der Schlossgaststätte eingekehrt und haben dort sehr lecker gegessen. Es gab eine Tageskarte mit österreichischen Speisen, aus der wir uns Vorspeise und Hauptgang gewählt haben. Vogerlsalat und Salonbeuscherl haben wunderbar geschmeckt und auch das vegetarische Einkorn-Risotto hat meiner Freundin sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir können Wellenburg nur empfehlen.

Abendessen | 30–40 € Wir waren vor Ort eigentlich immer begeistert , ich als Zöliakie Patient fand immer was … Was wir jetzt aber erlebt haben schlägt dem Fass den Boden aus . Bestellung Schnitzel Glutenfrei , es öffnen sich die Beilagen und ich wähle Spätzle . Es wäre nicht so das es nicht normale Schnitzel auch gibt mit Beilagen Also ging ich bei GF davon auch aus das alles GF ist war ja gekennzeichnet Was kam … Spätzle nicht GF und Schnitzel GF in einer Packung … Beim reklamieren keine Einsicht . Nur die Aussage was für harte Wochen man hatte und Gäste bestellen oft das eine so das andere so . Sorry frech und dann legte die Dame einfach auf . Für ins Zölis schon schwer genug was zu finden aber das bestätigt es einfach nur noch das die Gastro einfach kein Plan hat und wenn man fragt und drauf hinweist nur noch pampig reagiert . Der Vorfall wird eindeutiger sich an der passenden Stelle gemeldet Glutenfrei gekennzeichnet also muss es auch geliefert sein so .

We were actually always enthusiastic on site, as a celiac disease patient I always found something... But what we have experienced now is the last straw. Order schnitzel gluten-free, the side dishes open and I choose spaetzle. It wouldn't be the case that normal schnitzel isn't available with side dishes So with GF I assumed that everything was GF and was marked What came... Spätzle not GF and Schnitzel GF in one package... No insight when complaining. Just saying what a tough few weeks you've had and guests often order one thing and the other. Sorry cheeky and then the lady just hung up. It's already hard enough to find something for those with a celiac disease, but that just confirms that the restaurant simply doesn't have a plan and when you ask and point it out, they just react rudely. The incident will be reported more clearly in the appropriate place marked gluten-free so it must be delivered that way.

Wir waren mit Freunden an einem Freitagabend in Wellenburg und haben eine Gans vorbestellt gehabt. Die Gans war super frisch und lecker und von der Größe genau richtig für 4 Erwachsene. Die Beilagen Rotkraut, Kartoffelklöße und viel Sauce waren ein Gedicht! Wir werden das in der Vorweihnachtszeit definitiv nochmal machen und zum Gansessen nach Wellenburg fahren.

There has been a sharp decline, but in return prices have risen sharply and they have also switched from service to self-service. It was our last visit, in the future we will go to the Klosterstüble in Oberschönefeld in Gessertshausen. 1000x better 😉

The drinks prices for a beer garden are ok, you can't say anything about that. Unfortunately, we weren't a bit disappointed when we ate 😞 some portions didn't match the size of the prices. Prices too high, portions too small. If you come through it's still a nice beer garden to sit in.

I've been here for many years and was actually really disappointed. I learned from the information on the website that I had to order and pick up food at a counter in the beer garden and STILL had no problems with that. My main course, a Greek salad, was neither outstanding in terms of taste (for me it just tasted like the individual components) and was really poor in quantity. My friend ordered a side salad and it actually came in the same plate. Then I was really annoyed. Unfortunately I can't post a photo here because I took a photo of my hand for size comparison. But I paid almost 14 euros for it, WITHOUT service. Of course, I was also “allowed” to clean up my plates and cutlery; I was asked to sort everything separately. Staff was friendly during the ordering process. I can't judge more because it's self-service. The ambience in the beer garden is fine and shady, which is beneficial in hot temperatures. Conclusion: I went home with a growling stomach to satisfy my hunger and was annoyed that I paid almost 14 euros for this salad. Something like this hasn't happened to me in years...

The nature park is a great little excursion destination for forest hiking, mini golf or cycling and this little stop is right in the middle, always happy to have a cold drink and a sausage salad

Were in the beer garden yesterday, drinks and the prices were great. Staff absolutely great. Now unfortunately for the negative. Unfortunately we were absolutely disappointed with the food. The portions in the beer garden were extremely small. The Kässpatzen were just as large in quantity as the children's portion of dumplings. Unfortunately, the sausage salads were also disappointing. In the side salad (which wasn't big anyway, there was a large piece of stalk with the spaetzle) We had to cook again at home after dinner. The gravy was watery. We'd love to come back to drink, but we won't eat anymore. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the money in any way. I was so looking forward to it.

Beautiful, large and fenced beer garden in Wellenburg (restaurant was not in operation). Food and drinks can be ordered here at a counter. You get a piece of paper and a digital display shows you when it is ready to be picked up. The location is also suitable for tackling various hiking routes. There is a mini golf course directly opposite.

Due to the nice weather there was quite a lot going on. Nevertheless, it didn't take long until the tasty food was ready. Unfortunately the portions (roast pork) were a bit small for a good and hungry guest. But it's better to have something less and good than the other way around.

The ambience is great, the restaurant is under a large tree shade. Drinks and food are self-service. I ordered schnitzel and it tastes subpar. But very good for cyclists!

The concept is self-service, but in my opinion this doesn't fit with the pricing. You have to serve yourself and cater yourself, but you pay the same price as in a better restaurant with waiters. Too many wasps for my taste, at least 5 that end up on the table or in the drink.

The behavior of the landlady at the bar is unbelievable. I come to the beer garden at 8:29 p.m. By the time I get to the checkout she tells me that there will be no more food after 8:30 p.m. Then she asks me why I make such a grumpy face and tells me that I should show the staff a little more friendliness. They deserved more respect after the hard work of building their gourmet restaurant. The food is standard (schnitzel, roast pork, sausage salad). If the guests aren't friendlier, they'll have to close because they won't have any more staff!

It's nice in the beer garden and everything is well organized. Unfortunately it is closed on Monday and Tuesday. There is nothing on the internet about the rest days.

Ambience really nice. The “fried chicken with homemade potato salad” was okay. That's why I would definitely come back rather not. I'm not so sure whether there's really anything homemade there. At a price of €18 I would have expected a little more.

Was in the Wellenburg castle restaurant for the first time yesterday. I am very positively surprised. The Kässpatzn were AMAZING. Finally a landlord who uses really good cheese for the sparrows and not just the cheapest Emmentaler from the metro. The spleen sausage was also very good, the sauce was good and the potato salad was perfect. What really thrilled me was the Tyrolean Radler (Helles with Almdudler). The only small drawback was the cleanliness of the tables. A bit of work needs to be done here. We will come back. Absolutely recommended.
