Went to the beer garden in the summer, that was nice, the food and beer were good, in keeping with the price range. However, the waitress booked some of the drinks on the wrong table and had to bill them twice, which was totally confusing. The second time on November 24 was more disappointing. The outdoor area (tents) was closed, but looked very run down and untidy, not particularly inviting. The restaurant itself was cramped, loud and uncomfortable, relatively old-fashioned. I think there are better, pleasant places in the area. It's nothing for us in this state. This review is just my personal subjective opinion and should only be considered as a rough guide. Everyone should form their own opinion.

We were here for dinner this evening. The service employee was friendly and attentive. However, the food was subpar. My schnitzel was tough. The spaetzle was warmed up and tossed in the pan. In any case, homemade fresh spaetzle doesn't taste like this. The salad was delicious. However, this one was with onions despite us saying beforehand that we didn't want onions in the salad. It's difficult when the waitress says there are no onions in the salad and you still notice them. What really makes me dissatisfied and leads me to this review is that we weren't offered a price reduction even though I said right away that the schnitzel didn't taste good. There was no alternative to waiting for a new schnitzel because the children were tired. Even an espresso is no compensation for a failed expensive dinner! We will not recommend the restaurant.

Delicious food at fair prices. The cooking is still good here. It's nice to sit both inside and outside. The staff is always friendly.

A nice location, quiet. The menu is very clear, which is certainly due to the fact that the restaurant will be closing in two days for the summer break. Unfortunately, this meant that some things didn't go so well. Be it that the parasols weren't open, or that you had forgotten that a starter should not come with the main course. Many of the main courses were no longer there either. The main course was of good quality, although a bit plain. So you should definitely choose an appetizer. The service was friendly, but seemed a bit overwhelmed. Here too, I think this is due to the upcoming holidays. That's why I would still like to give it four stars. Under other circumstances there would have been only three.

A gem in Karlsruhe: beer garden on gravel under trees!

Gravel under your feet, trees above your heads - in short: everything you could hope for in a beer garden. Surprisingly quiet, idyllic and secluded, despite the city center location. Special feature: Beer also from the Engel brewery in Crailsheim! The food isn't anything special, but it's okay, the service is okay.

We were there with ~40 people. Reservation went great. When we arrived there was still a fairly large table. Nevertheless, one thing has to be emphasized: the service was ultra fast and friendly. Really on the ball. As soon as the glass was empty, the question was asked. It has been a long time since I personally experienced such a service. The food was all very tasty. Really bourgeois. So we were very positively surprised. The prices were also very pleasant, rather low compared to today. Haven't been there before, but will be back.

Food was okay, but nothing more than that. Service disorganized and slow. The beer garden and the interior are very old.

We had the joy of testing the “summer menu” dishes, very tasty and visibly typical of the “Baden-Württemberg” region (South West Germany). Pleasant terrace, covered part, exotic and typical interior. A must-see gastronomic stopover if you are passing through Karlsruhe. We will return there to taste the dishes offered on the "winter menu".

Food was ok. Ambience ok. Coke was frozen. Unfortunately, according to the service, it wasn't possible to change.

Food: We only had the "summer menu" with a very limited selection of dishes - I count 8 main courses. The dishes are quite expensive, but the taste is okay. Ambiance: the interior of the restaurant seems run down - the light bulbs have failed here and there - the ceiling doesn't fit the typical ambience of a brewery at all.

We had a beer here. Relaxed atmosphere and very hospitable service. Originally, the real Brauhof was at a different location. Several typical brewery attributes (including copper pipes) and black-and-white photos of the old brewery and old wooden skis and competition numbers contribute to a nostalgic atmosphere. House beer and schnapps tasted excellent.

We ate in the restaurant today, unfortunately it was a total failure, the only thing that was really nice was the ambience, you can really forget everything else, drinks were overpriced, menu wasn't really understandable, unfortunately you had to look for schnitzel, the meat was much too dry and almost cold when it arrived at the place Unfortunately the fries 🍟 were oversalted, the fried potatoes were black and cold. A friend of ours had ordered pepper schnitzel, the sauce didn't come for ages and when you asked the waitress about lactose, she looked like she'd never heard of it before. That was a short excerpt from our unsatisfactory visit. Unfortunately, we won't be eating there anymore. It's a shame

Good food, fast and friendly service and a nice atmosphere

If we hadn't looked it up online beforehand, we would have passed it by... but it was definitely worth a visit.

A little rustic, nice to sit outside in summer. Delicious beers. The wines are okay. The small side salad was great. The food was otherwise good average. At the Altes Brauhaus I would rather focus on a nice evening with friends with delicious beer and good conversations. Last but not least, the service was very nice and attentive.

Ein selten gewordenes Kleinod mitten in Karlsruhe. Ein Wirtshaus vom alten Schlag, das mit herzlichen persönlichen Service punktet und bei dem das Essen mit Geschmack und absolut ehrlicher Qualität überzeugt. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne vorbei!

Es war ein schöner Abend mit Freunden. Das erste Mal im alten Brauhof. Der Service war sehr nett, auf der Karte hat jeder etwas leckeres gefunden. 😋

Kleiner Biergarten mitten in Karlsruhe. Preise sind selbst für städtische Verhältnisse zu teuer. Essen war lecker und der Service sehr freundlich.

Sehr freundliche Bedienung. In Anbetracht der späten Stunde konnte ich nur noch etwas trinken. Die Atmosphäre im Biergarten ist entspannt und angenehm. Offenbar viele Stammgäste.

Gemütlicher Biergarten im Herzen von Karlsruhe direkt neben dem Zoo. Gutes Essen und freundliche Bedienung. Nur die Bänke und Stühle sind sehr hart, hier sollte mal ein Upgrade mit Kissen erfolgen. Aber insgesamt ein gemütlicher, empfehlenswerter Biergarten.

Toller Biergarten, super lecker Essen. Maultaschen sehr schmackhaft, große Portionen. Reservierung für den Biergarten kurzfristig hat auch geklappt. Nettes Personal, Service sehr freundlich. Der Wirt Christoph Lander ist ein Unikat, lacht gerne mit seinen Gästen , man fühlt sich wie daheim. Als Gäste gehört man zum Alten Brauhof dazu. Unsere Freunde aus Salzburg und wir Karlsruher fühlten uns wohl und danken für den lustigen Abend. Bis bald, für die Damen unter den Gästen es wird ein toller Rose ausgeschenkt.

Super netter Service. Die schwäbische Lasagne war gut, mal was anderes. Was ich ich aber als negativ empfand, war das eine kleiner Marillenschnaps 4,80€ gekostet hat. Sonst waren alle Preise total angemessen. Danke für die netten Abende bei euch.

Sehr nett und gemütlich gelegen. Schönes Flair. Gehen eigentlich nur zum Bierchen trinken hin. Noch nie was gegessen.

Essen und Lage hervorragend. Nur eine Kellnerin hat mir Spätzle statt Lasagne Maultaschen gebracht, obwohl ich diese bestellt hatte. Hab diese dann trotzdem genommen, sonst wären diese aber sicher weggeworfen worden. Hätte für den Preisunterschied schon einen Ausgleich oder ähnliches erwartet, hätte ja auf mein bestelltes essen bestehen können. Schlussendlich gabs nix, also gabs dann eben auch kein Trinkgeld.

Der Koch hat’s einfach drauf. Die Qualität unseres Essens war Top. Der Laden war voll und die Herr im Service war gechillt und professionell. Das Ambiente ist hier nicht so wichtig da das Essen und die Bewirtung einseitig vordergründig sind.

Gute tradtionelle Mouldäschle...lecker mit Speck,Zwiebeln und Kartoffelsalat. Saisonvariation ..mit Champions und Bärlauch.

Einfach, ehrlich, gut ! Freundlicher Service, klares Angebot ohne Schnörkel. Wenn man sich drauf einlässt fühlt man sich hier wohl.

Ein richtig uriges Restaurant, mit nicht überfüllter Karte von Speisen, was einfach nur grandios war! Das Essen absolut lecker, man konnte nicht aufhören zu essen. Und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Wenn wir wieder in Karlsruhe sind kommen wir aufjedenfall!

Wir waren vor Jahren häufiger im Alten Brauhof, sind dann aber nicht mehr hingegangen, weil uns das Essen nicht geschmeckt hat. Seit diesem Jahr gibt es allerdings einen neuen Koch, mit dem sich die Küche enorm gesteigert hat - süddeutsche, badische, schwäbische Küche vom Feinsten. Wo bekommt man heute so etwas noch? Für alle, die die heimische Küche lieben, absolut empfehlenswert.

Wir waren zu zweit. Mein Mann bekam sein Essen recht schnell. Mein Essen kam nach mehr als einer Stunde und nach zweimaligem "Erinnern". Wir sind gegangen und sagen "Nie wieder"

Da glaubt man, man habe schon alles an Unhöflichkeit erlebt, aber folgendes Erlebnis hat eine neue Kategorie eröffnet: Wir kamen als kleine Gruppe mit neun Leuten nach dem Minigolfspielen gegenüber zum Biergarten und warteten, wie ein Schild es erbat, am Eingang darauf, einen Tisch zugewiesen zu bekommen. Nach längerer Wartezeit erschien ein junger Mann, der auf unsere höflich vorgetragene Bitte um einen Tisch für neun Personen ein "nein" in die Gegend blökte und uns stehen ließ. Frei waren an dem recht kühlen Abend noch mehr als genug Tische, so dass diese Abfuhr nicht mal nachvollziehbar war. Da drängt sich doch der Gedanke auf, dass die staatlichen Corona-Hilfen so schlecht nicht gewesen sein können. Aus unserer Gruppe wird sicher niemand nochmals hierher kommen.

An einem sonnigen, warmen Sommerabend dort gewesen. Eine Stunde vorher tel. einen Tisch im Biergarten bestellt. Netter Empfang, schöner Tisch zugewiesen bekommen. Getränke waren ruckzuck da. Essen ging etwas länger, war aber auch reger Betrieb. Essen war für das Auge sehr appetitlich angerichtet und schmeckte auch entsprechend gut. Klare Empfehlung. Tischreservierung teilweise notwendig.

Das essen war immer gut jetzt wollen wir da alle nicht mehr hin zeit der auszubildende Drogendealer dort arbeitet es sollten Drogen Test gemacht werden in der heutigen zeit

Hier gehen wir gerne im Sommer in den Biergarten. Herrlich unkompliziert und immer findet man ein Plätzchen. - Im Winter ist es uns zu muffig und stickig. Das Essen ist gut, aber eben schnitzelig-kartoffelig.

Recently, just after Christmas, we came to Karlsruhe to see an exhibit at the Regional museum (in the former grand-ducal palace) and stayed overnight at a B&B in the neighborhood. The receptionist recommended Alter Brauhof, and we were not disappointed. The interior, dating from the eighties, is amusing in its stylistic mish-mash, take it as a piece of amusing folklore. Everything is in good order, it was pleasantly quiet, the service friendly, and above all, beer on tap (Krušovice!) and home-style food was decent and worth its price. I had veal kidney, my companion a huge portion of pork cutlet, all very tasty, and the salad aside fresh and crisp. No complaints here!

Ich war mit Kollegen in diesem rustikalen, etwas abgelegenen Restaurant in der Nähe des Zoos essen. Ehrliche, regionale und saisonale Gerichte, vor allem Schnitzel (sehr große Portionen). Prima Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Ich hatte die hausgemachten Maultaschen mit Speck, Zwiebeln und viel knackigem Salat mit leckerem Dressing, sehr köstlich. Das Personal war sehr nett, ein durchweg empfehlenswertes Restaurant!

Tombés un peu par hasard on s’est installé en terrasse de ce restaurant dans un jardin au mobilier rustique. Service rapide et agréable. Plat copieux et bons. Carte assez fournie mais plats sans aucun doute maison. Prix tout à fait corrects. Je recommande

Das Essen war zum Glück so ungewürzt, dass es wenigstens unser Hund essen konnte. Beim Schnitzel fällt sie Panade ab, die Pommes sind dunkelbraun und die Spätzle haben nochnie Salzwasser gesehen. Die ,,Rahmsoße''besteht aus Rinderbrühe mit Sahneschuss. Salat sauer das es einem die Schuhe auszieht. Wirklich schade die 40 € hätte ich lieber anderweitig ausgegeben. Nicht zum empfehlen weder bürgerlich noch gut!

It’s hard to rave. But there are also no complaints. I lied the staff they were fun and friendly. The food was good if unspectacular. I loved my Nurnbwger wurstl and sauerkraut. Claudias schnitzel was good too. Beer kinda ordinary for Germany. The dunkel is made by Heineken’s Czech subsidiary which is disappointing when you’re in Germany But a nice outdoor environment and no complaints

Sehr leckeres Essen aber an diesem Tag leider ein überforderter Kellner bei überschaubar gefüllten Biergarten. Großes Plus: Zutaten für die Speisen sind regional und nachhaltig!

Vor unserem Besuch im Konzerthaus hat es uns hierher verschlagen. Erst einmal war ich skeptisch, ist das Ambiente doch leicht angestaubt und mit Ski an der Wand nicht alltäglich. Aber: Service war einwandfrei, Getränkeauswahl super und das Essen hervorragend. Es gab die Kutscherpfanne und das Gänsefleisch für uns. Das waren die besten Kartoffelklöße ever! Absolut empfehlenswert und irgendwie passte das Ambiente dann doch. Weiter so.

Waren an unserem ersten Abend in Karlsruhe hier. Sehr freundliches Personal. Sehr gute und grosse Portionen, das Essen hier ist super, echt der Hammer. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl, darum kommen wir morgen wieder.
