Good, home-style cooking with great food and attentive, friendly staff.

We were there at 6 p.m. Outside, there was just a sign saying the kitchen was open until 7 p.m. When we went inside and wanted tarte flambée, we were told it was only open until 4 p.m. We were very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend it. Here, the restaurant is in charge, not the customer.

Cozy, reasonable prices, good food. Since you can't make a reservation, you just sit around the corner at Karlheinz Weis's.

We stopped here twice and had the "small plates." They were delicious and the perfect size for our evening meal. The service was also excellent. We'd love to come back. ☺️

Very good schnitzel but the service is less

We weren't overpromised. The restaurant is truly a charming little gem. As soon as you enter, you sense the cozy and warm atmosphere, which immediately puts you at ease. I was particularly impressed by the preparation of the schnitzels; you can hear them being freshly pounded, which immediately makes you look forward to the taste. They were outstanding! Tender, crispy, and exactly what you'd expect from a truly good schnitzel. The portion size was also perfectly sized, filling but not overwhelming. An all-around wonderful experience that I highly recommend.

We had a delicious meal for a great price (around €30 per person) with excellent wine, of course. It's a cozy corner with occasional live music from street performers. No reservations, so if there's room, you can join in.

The best restaurant in Zell, with a good selection of dishes. The location in the pedestrian zone is very quiet.

From unfriendly to rude service, to canteen food that's second to none, and finally, the truly high prices. It's a mystery to me where these high ratings come from.

The four of us ate schnitzel, and it was delicious. You could even hear the schnitzel knocking from the kitchen. It was served with a small salad, which was very fresh and delicious. The service was fast and friendly. The prices are reasonable.

A one-hour wait from the moment you order is pretty intense. But the schnitzel was one of the best I've ever eaten, and it was big, too.

We got a table there spontaneously. As the menu states, everything is made fresh, and it took a little longer than it might have elsewhere. My father personally found the schnitzel too thin, but others probably like it that way; it's probably a matter of taste. My rump steak was very good. It's a bit more expensive for the price, but it's okay. I recommend it.

It's lovely here. The covered terrace is very nice in today's weather. The food was very tasty. They have a seasonal menu (chanterelles this time), which I really liked.

We spent a weekend in Zell an der Mosel and were looking for a good restaurant that evening, which we definitely found at the "Alte Winzerei." The service was exceptionally polite, attentive, and courteous. We snagged a spot on the terrace, even though it was forecast to rain. They immediately organized a suitable umbrella for us, so we could stay outside despite the light shower. The advice on the food and wine was excellent, and the dishes—freshly prepared—were simply top-notch. The value for money was excellent. I highly recommend the restaurant.

The food was delicious. We sat on the terrace, a bit squashed near the entrance. But it was okay. The waiter was friendly but a bit rushed. It might have been the heat.

First, the positive: The Jäger-style schnitzel was truly amazing, and the fries and salad were good. The service was attentive, but it was quite busy, and it's easy to lose track of things...a shame—unfortunately, as in many industries, there's a shortage of qualified staff.

Pork schnitzel with fries was fantastic, super tasty! Large portion! Service was also excellent and very friendly. Food is prepared fresh after ordering; we could see how the schnitzels were pounded. The ambiance was also very nice; we sat outside on the terrace. :-)

Very tasty! The food came out of the kitchen quickly and hot. The service was a bit casual but very friendly. The outdoor terrace is completely covered, so even rain showers aren't a problem. Unfortunately, you can't reserve a table.

A very cozy little restaurant with a great ambience. The food is delicious and delivered quickly, the selection of dishes is large, but unfortunately there is no dessert.

Two of us ate in the restaurant and we were both thrilled by the incredibly good quality of the food! I have never tasted such delicious goulash soup! My wife had a schnitzel and I had the grill plate and were simply thrilled! Absolutely recommended! We'll be back!!!

After a few days in Zell, stopped here today. Food overall satisfactory. Delicious pumpkin cream soup, schnitzel was unfortunately a bit burnt (from the bottom side). Little sauce. Good portions, nice service. Price/performance ratio for the food was okay. From our point of view, however, not with the wines (most bottles €26-32). This is simply too expensive compared to all the locations in Zell.

A really brilliant location. The food is freshly prepared and is really recommended. Price performance absolutely okay. You have to go there when you are in Zell. We'll be back!

We sat at the corner table at the counter and just loved how attentive and quick the waitress was, she was very attentive and you could see how she put her heart and soul into the job. Since the restaurant is very small, we sat outside in the tent with gas heaters. The rose wine for 28.50 euros was much too cold, after complaining we were given the cheaper wine - 3.50 euros, the food was very good, the salad was mediocre.

A lot of money for little truth. Service very good, very very expensive (wheat €6, schnitzel €23). The breading of the schnitzel is 5-8x as thick as the 2-3mm meat and is sold at a high price. It is thus artificially made fat. Burnt fried potatoes. Soup was good, but also very expensive. All in all, highly recommended.

The restaurant really impressed me. The food was really tasty and freshly prepared, especially the meat was grilled to perfection and super tender. The side dishes were also great and everything was beautifully presented. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Special requests were implemented immediately and we regularly asked whether everything was OK. The atmosphere was relaxed, just right for a cozy evening. I can definitely recommend it!

We visited the old winery twice within a week. As a sausage salad expert, I have to say this was some of the best I've ever eaten! All the other dishes were fresh, there are large portions and the place is nice and the service was attentive and friendly... clear recommendation!

Very nice boss and see nice service. We sat comfortably outside. My husband had the Cordon Bleu and I had the Dutch style schnitzel. Both were super tasty and really big. We will definitely eat there again.

No, sorry, tourist food from the confectionery machine with too much flavor enhancer. Upgrade after the answer: Before you next take the dreary cordon bleu out of the packaging, you should pay attention to the corresponding E marking. After "enjoying" the meal, I needed a tablet to at least alleviate the worst of the symptoms. I'm not impressed by your threat.

Tourist trap! Underground food, we were there in a group. Service was OK, but nothing more. My Cordon Bleu below with lots of roasted aromas (burnt). The cheese, if it was real, was tasteless and the artificial-tasting breading fell off. The croquettes were also tasteless. I guess from the oven. Stomach ache all evening, glutamate? Worst meal on vacation. Not recommended! Upgrade, I will also ask the others in the group to rate their restaurant.

Nice, quiet place where you can enjoy a delicious meal. Friendly staff. We ate here twice, I had a vegetarian dish both times and they were both very tasty. My friend liked it so much the first time that he ordered the same thing the 2nd time!

1. Unfortunately the side salad was served in a garlic sauce that didn't suit our taste. 2. The dish was not served with the French fries we ordered, but with fried potatoes. When we asked, we were told by the service staff that French fries were not available with this dish. 3. The schnitzel was dry and over-seasoned. The pork fillet was not served with cream sauce, but with hollandaise. 4. The radio station playing with commercials and other items was disturbing.

Das Essen sehr gut, die beiden Bedienungen miserabel. Eine Aussage: es gibt mehr als 25 Lokale in Zell, alle kommen nach hier. Schrecklich. So eine Aussage geht bei Kunden überhaupt nicht.

We drove down from the Hunsrück to try the Alte Winzerstube restaurant because the pictures and the menu really appealed to us. Even though the pictures looked good, we were even more surprised. The food was excellent. I was allowed to have goulash soup with bread and a robber schnitzel. The soup was excellently hearty, rich and full of good ingredients; you don't believe in thin soup with little ingredients here. Normally I wouldn't say anything about the bread, but here it was so good in terms of taste and toasted texture that it's simply worth mentioning. The schnitzel was also excellent, a generous portion with a well-beaten and clearly lovingly breaded piece of meat. The ham on the schnitzel was definitely not the “pressed ham from the discounter” brand; rather, they don't go out of their way here either and serve the guest quality. The sauce was obviously fresh and homemade, the peppers were just right crunchy and very delicately seasoned. Allow me to quote my friend who said "Oh, that's what schnitzel should actually taste like." When it comes to atmosphere, pictures are probably worth a thousand words, so I'll just try two. welcoming and warm. You simply have to find warm words about the service, we were greeted warmly and with humor, as if we were an old acquaintance. We were here for the first and certainly not the last time. I would definitely recommend coming here and enjoying the hospitality of the Alte Winzerstube. The waitress said to us "We want to do everything here with love." You notice that.

A really great atmosphere, very tasty wine and the best potato vegetable pan that I have had the pleasure of eating in 22 years of a vegetarian diet. The food was simply great. The Riesling soup is a dream. The waitress gave the whole thing an extra star. She really knows her job and gave us and all the other guests great hospitality and ran the place really well. Geweldig lekker gegeten. Grote porties. Duurt wel wat langer voordat je je eten krijgt maar alles word vers gemaakt en bereid. Hebben 4 plekken in Zell gehad voor te eten, deze staat voor ons zeker op nummer 1! Lekkere verse schnitzels en verse salade.. raad iedereen om hier te gaan eten.

Service nice and attentive. Unfortunately, the portion size and quality are not even close to the price. The “Wiener Style” schnitzel with fried potatoes is tiny and the breading is wobbly. The handful of fried potatoes couldn't contribute to satiety due to their limited number. If you want to fill up or are looking for quality food, you should go a little further down the street.

Very tasty and great service! We went here on a Thursday evening during the holidays with four adults and a three year old and the food was really, really good! Our little one was full and the service was very friendly and accommodating. The waiting time was a little longer, but every table was occupied, so it was completely understandable. We'd love to come back!

Very tasty schnitzels. Very friendly staff. Really recommended for a delicious schnitzel meal. The Jägerschnitzel - and the other dishes too - are made with fresh ingredients...i.e. fresh mushrooms instead of canned ones. Tastes almost like mom’s. We were there without our dog, but the furry four-legged friends are also warmly welcomed there and are served water. (At least outside). So all in all it deserves 5 stars!

Nice restaurant in a great location. The outdoor seating area is wonderful and has a lot of tables and cover from the bright sun or rain. The Greek salad and steak were both okay, the steak was pretty tough but flavorful. It seemed like most people were getting the schnitzel, so this is what we will try next time.

Were there about 2 hours after the rain shower. After I asked if it was possible to wipe the place, I was countered: What do you want to drink! In the meantime we dried the chairs ourselves with our handkerchiefs. We actually had an appointment here with 13 couples. The red wine ordered was undrinkable, my veto was ignored. We then went to a friendly restaurant with great service and had a lovely evening.

Very tasty food, would love to come back

We were in Zelle over a weekend and visited the place twice as it was close by and looked nice. The first time we just got a beer. The second time we had dinner. The service was rude and not very service-minded. We ordered a salad with chicken. The chicken was tough and tasteless. The salad was a strange mix of various fruits and vegetables. My wife became ill with stomach problems after visiting the restaurant, which bothered her for most of our holiday. Price and quality do not go together in this place.

Auf Empfehlung sind wir dort eingekehrt. Recht früh am Abend war das Lokal schon gut besucht. Service: zügig, freundlich, aufmerksam Geteänke: wir blieben alkoholfrei, daher schwer bewertbar Speisen: Cordon Bleu und Winzersteak Beide Portionen sehr groß, und ich meine wirklich groß! Aber sehr schmackhaft zubereitet, wobei die Pommes beim Cordbon bleu etwas zu sehr gesalzen waren. Das Winzersteak war sehr lecker, eine große Portion Zwiebeln und lecker angebratene (?) Weintrauben Fazit: sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, eine schöne Terrasse und eine Empfehlung.
