The entire team welcomed us warmly, and their hospitality was outstanding. The food was absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients and lovingly prepared. We felt completely at home and would definitely come back. Thank you for a great lunch!!!

Room 101 has a beautiful view of the Mosel. It is a spacious room, was clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom with a large shower. Beilstein is beautiful and very quiet after the day trippers leave. Would definitely stay here again.

The restaurant is very quaint and beautiful. The food was delicious, and the service staff was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend it.

Don't be fooled by the menu pictures. The prices have almost doubled since then. We wanted to eat here, but decided against it because of the exorbitant prices. Grape spritzer was €6.50, and a couple of small tapas with bread (which wouldn't even fill one person) was €22. The staff was friendly and the view from the terrace was nice, but I wouldn't recommend eating there.

Last week we stayed overnight at the Hotel Die Alte Stadtmauer, in the Mosel village of Beilstein. The room was great, but now I'm specifically looking at dinner in their restaurant... not an extensive menu, but with some regional dishes, including "boiled broad beans in a delicious sauce with bacon and fried potatoes." To die for 😝👍

Super nice atmosphere directly on the Moselle and very tasty food

Today, August 6, 2025, we went to lunch with a tour group at the old city wall. I had salad with schnitzel strips. The meat was delicious, but the salad was inedible, completely mashed, and simply disgusting. Despite my complaint, no one cared, and that was for a price of €21.50, which I would consider acceptable given the good quality. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful view from your seat! This review is mainly about the food, as we weren't staying overnight. The service was okay, but the seating was a bit confusing, as no one really knew where to sit. As we left, we saw the waitress outside getting confused with the orders. Perhaps allowing more people outside could reduce the confusion for guests and staff. The drinks were good, and the overall experience was pleasant.

Great view from the terrace. Fast service and great apfelstrudel :) Waitress was really nice and seemed experienced. They even got us iced tea without bubbles for the little one.

The prices are way too expensive!! A large beer costs €6.70. It's slowly becoming no fun to go out for a drink or a meal! The owner obviously can't stand criticism. Well, he'll get his comeuppance with his prices. @Owner, yes, my mistake. I didn't look at the prices outside. I couldn't have known they were charging such outrageous prices. 😉

Great restaurant. We had pasta with chanterelles. It was expensive, but absolutely worth it for the amount of food and chanterelles. It was delicious and plentiful. Neither of us could finish it. If we go back here, we'll definitely eat here again. I highly recommend it.

Very beautiful hotel with great location right by the river.

We had lunch at the restaurant on the Old City Wall during a short break while passing through – with a beautiful view of the Moselle. The food was truly delicious! The prices are fair and the portions are generous. We definitely recommend the restaurant!

We have traveled extensively in Europe for many years, and seldom have we been as completely delighted in every imaginable way as we were with this hotel in Beilstein. There are many choices in this small Mosel Valley village, but we would return to this one in a heartbeat. The advance communication was superb, we were given a room that was exactly as requested, we were warmly greeted by the proprietor and seated at the best table for dinner (reserved in advance), our room was spacious and thoroughly equipped with a perfect view of the Mosel River, breakfast every morning was perfect and prepared by the ever-warm-hearted proprietor, another management sort ("the man in black!") was also delightful and accommodating, and the location was brilliant for exploring all of the Mosel Valley. Five stars are completely inadequate for such an experience. And Beilstein is a great village!

We spent 2 wonderful days in Beilstein. This was not least due to the excellent hotel. We were very warmly welcomed. The room and the bathroom were great. The restaurant and breakfast room are very nicely decorated. The dinner was great. We would also like to highlight the great performance and the natural friendliness of the service staff. Our conclusion: It doesn't get any better. We definitely want to come back. Thanks again.

Recently refurbished rooms - our's with a view of the river. Excellent and friendly service. Perfect location between the river and the cozy, small village. Dined at the restaurant, enjoyed the local wine and fresh aspargus. Highly recommend!

We ate there today and were very satisfied. My dish was a salad with strips of schnitzel. Fresh bread was also served. I liked it very much. The portion was large and there were two schnitzels.

Achtung aufpassen ! Habe in freudiger Erwartung die Schweinebäckchen bestellt. Wurde auf der Karte als Moseltypische Spezialität beschrieben. Was dann kam hat alle Erwartungen unterboten. Schweinebäckchen werden normalerweise im Ofen gebacken oder zumindest geschmort. Heraus kommt ein schönes Stück Fleisch, mit schönen Röstaromen. Dazu eine schöne braune Soße…so erwartet man das. Was ich bekommen habe sind Fleischstückchen aus gepökeltem, rötlichem Fleisch. Ich würde das einem Eisbein zuordnen. Dazu ein fürchterliche klare, gelbliche Soße, die so überhaupt nicht dazu paßte und nach Currywurst schmeckte. Die Kellnerin die mich fragte, ob es schmeckt und ich mich negativ geäußert hatte, hob nur ungläubig die Augenbraue hoch und versuchte gar nicht, das aufzuklären und wurde nicht mehr gesehen. Insgesamt also eine absolute Frechheit, das als Moseltypische Schweinebäckchen zu verkaufen und dann nich mit der grausamen Sosse. Und das ganze noch für völlig überzogenen 23,50 Eisbein ist ja sonst ein ziemlich billiges Fleisch.

We were in the restaurant and were served courteously, the lady was super nice and responded to all of our requests. The food was very tasty and the terrace was a comfortable place to linger. We'll stop there again on our next trip.

Stayed in this beautiful hotel last week, right on the Moselle. The terrace is a highlight. Service and cuisine are excellent. Hot food is even offered there all the time. Price-performance ratio is consistent. Would love to come back with friends.

We ate at the restaurant only. They told us they had no tap water so we had to pay for bottled water. Three of us had the special of fresh pasta in a mushroom sauce. It had very little taste. When we went to pay they said cash only, which was not posted anywhere and we were never told ahead of time. There are some awesome restaurants here, this is not one of them

Quite strange loading. The food is tasty but also expensive. The meal included 4 side dishes (4 people 4 dishes with 4 side dishes) priced at €130 in total. Only three were given to eat. After asking why a side dish was missing, I was told that it was fine, so the portions were big enough and you could share it. That's not the way it should be. Addendum for the owner: it's not about the size of the portions but rather if I order 4 and pay for 4 then you can't just give 3 and when the missing portion is pointed out to you just say it's big enough for 4 people should just share!

I had a wonderful time at this hidden gem - friendly staff, spacious room, yummy treat and a beautiful view of the river. I forgot my cap in the room and they even sent it all the way to the U.S. for me. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone making a roadtrip pass this pretty town!!

Mooie locatie in een charmant dorpje vlak bij Cochem. De kaart is beperkt, de gerechten zijn eenvoudig (geen culinaire hoogstandjes), maar met smaak bereid. De prijzen zijn acceptabel, de bediening uitstekend en uiterst vriendelijk, eten op het terras is mogelijk met uitzicht op de Moezel. De traditionele Duitse gerechten staan prominent op de kaart. Jammer dat er geen warme groente mogelijk was, maar vlees, vis, aardappel variaties en salades zijn allemaal prima

Rooms are very clean and the atmosphere is correspondingly inviting. Beilstein is recommended anyway, if you want a quiet holiday you should spend it here. I am completely satisfied and thank you for the great service.

Simply top, great room and great jam for breakfast. Great view from the room and from the terrace. Great location and there are two parking spaces nearby that are not part of the hotel but are within walking distance.

Wir (2 Paare) hatten von Cochem aus eine Schifffahrt nach Beilstein gemacht. Das Städtchen ist einfach bezaubernd, aber noch netter sind die Bewohner und Bedienungen. Wir waren von der Herzlichkeit so begeistert, dass wir nach unserer Rückkehr nach Cochem zum Abendessen wieder nach Beilstein mit den Autos gefahren sind. Alles lecker, schönes Ambiente, kostenlose Gesangsdarbietung auf einem Platz mit begabter Sängerin - einfach rundum ein gelungener Tag in dem schönen Beilstein.

Very good restaurant under the beautiful grape vines that hang above your head, very nicely done. The food was fine, but quite expensive! You're clearly also paying for the view. We sat on the balcony which was very good. Lots of parasols to keep you out of the sun, which was very nice. The Moselle Ambiance completes it. Very well done by the managers/owners of this restaurant. A very neat tent.

Restaurant: The service was nice and very quick. The food was average, the price/performance ratio wasn't right. The side salad in particular was weak in terms of taste and the choice of ingredients.

Very large room with seating area and extra dressing room. Four windows with a view of the Moselle. Beautiful bathroom with large, walk-in rain shower. The sink has plenty of storage space. Above the sink there is a mirror with lighting and a cosmetic mirror. The rooms are high quality, tastefully furnished and sparkling clean. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. Egg dishes and pancakes are freshly prepared upon request. I ate in the restaurant on 2 evenings. From the starter to the main course to the dessert, I was completely impressed by the food (and I'm really very critical). Plus excellent wines and great service. I can only recommend this hotel.

I love everything they have in this village. The wines there are superb, my favorite is the Riesling Spätlese.

I know Beilstein very well, this time I stayed with my mother at the Hotel Alte Stadtmauer. My mother is very difficult to walk and needs a walker, so it had to be a hotel with a lift and the shortest possible distance... We had a lovely day on the Moselle, with a boat trip, lunch in Cochem, return trip to Beilstein and check-in at the hotel. It was a bit strange that I couldn't have my mother's drink brought to my room. While I drove my car to the large parking lot, my mother stayed at the hotel. The service was very friendly, but was not able to implement this wish... Of course it wasn't dramatic, just not understandable, because I know it completely differently... We then took the elevator to our room, which was wonderful. A large new bathroom with a walk-in shower, a super comfortable bed and the location was great as it was very quiet. We slept excellently. We went to the restaurant for dinner... the food was good, but unfortunately I have to say that the price/performance ratio doesn't fit. The fries didn't go well with the meat dishes at all and the fact that they also served mayonnaise and ketchup in plastic bags was simply inappropriate. It should also be noted that any changes to the dishes will be charged at 2 euros. This is more than astonishing... My mother's request to please serve a small portion was not accepted. Supposedly the slices of meat were pre-cut and there was nothing that could be done about that……said the waitress…… Of course my mom left a lot of meat left over because she can't eat that much. We couldn't even begin to manage the incredibly large portion of fries. The very friendly waitress then offered to put the meat in the fridge for us so that we could take it with us the next day. We forgot that at checkout... A portion of salad for €6.50 is very presumptuous. At 23 euros for a pork dish, a bowl of salad should be included. The breakfast was good, quite varied and we were asked if we would like eggs. There were also small pancakes... The coffee, however, was absolutely disappointing... Conclusion: All in all, a very nice hotel, very friendly staff, super nice, cozy and modern rooms, great ambience, the location right on the Moselle, fantastic... but the food is too expensive and not creative enough. In this price range, you should respond to the guest's wishes a little more flexibly without adding additional prices.

19€ for a salad with canned beans, pickled beetroot, cabbage salad from the bucket and dry supermarket bread. Ketchup and mustard in plastic containers. Beer for €5.70 was warm, but was renewed upon request. Overall, outrageously high prices for very low quality.

We went to the cafe for two drinks. The staff is very nice and the terrace offers a beautiful view of the Moselle. The coffee was okay, but nothing special for coffee lovers. Unfortunately, alternative milk is not offered.

We were in Beilstein last week morning and spontaneously stopped at this hotel/restaurant for a coffee. The terrace we sat on had a perfect view of the Moselle! Restaurant is also nice and clean inside as well as the toilet. Unfortunately, service was inattentive to us and very unfriendly towards us and other guests. Unfortunately the coffee was undrinkable and very overpriced. A pity

Unfortunately, we were at this great restaurant too late on our Moselle holiday in Ellenz-Poltersdorf! We ate and drank here twice. The food was really very good and of course the wine too: we really liked the “old vines” from the in-house winery. Plus the really nice, attentive and courteous service... We definitely have a new favorite restaurant! Price/performance is great in our opinion. We are looking forward to next year. Keep it up!!!

We called in for lunch and we’re seated on the terrace overlooking the Moselle, the food was excellent I ordered a feta cheese salad & my wife had a mushroom salad, both were really nice with interesting marinades to add to the flavour, very nice

September ein Hitzetag, aber wir bekamen im Biergarten einen schattigen Platz. Kaffee und Kuchen sind nicht gerade billig, aber das ist halt die Mosel. Der Service war aufmerksam und das Gäste meckern das auf der Terrasse nur Essen serviert wird kann man nachvollziehen. Haben ja auch Hausgäste. Wenn die Biker nur was trinken wollen sollen sie sich Wasser abfüllen.

Wir wollten eigentlich nur eine Flasche Wasser trinken bei der Fahrad Tour .Oben auf der Terrasse waren genug Plätze frei aber ging nur in Verbindung mit Essen .Finde ich schlecht ein Zeichen das es den Wirt noch gut geht es kommen auch noch andere Zeiten nach Beilstein .Heute abend werden wir bestimmt wo anders Speisen.Bewertung bezieht sich nur auf den Service.

Mooi, goed onderhouden pand. Kamers zijn ruim met een dito mooie badkamer. Kamer is goed onderhouden, en clean. Het ontbijt niet erg uitgebreid maar wel voldoende en lekker van smaak. Het personeel heel vriendelijk. Al met al een aanrader. Al moet ik er wel bijzeggen dat men er ook wel een stevige prijs voor vraagt.

Dit hotel-restaurant ligt op een mooie locatie aan de Moezel in het mooie stadje Beilstein. Geweldig mooie vrij nieuwe hotelkamers waar het werkelijk aan niets ontbreekt. Het ontbijt was ook zeer goed en ook van het diner hebben we genoten. Ook het personeel was erg vriendelijk en gastvrij. Kortom een aanrader als je een hotel in de buurt van de Moezel zoekt.

Fantastische bediening en lekkker eten. Mooi op het terras gezeten. De schnitzel was voortreffelijk en ook de Spätzelpfanne. Tot het zonnetje daar onder ging gezeten met ijs en apfelstrudel na. We komen zeker terug en is aanrader!

Beste familiere Atmosphäre. Speisen sehr geschmackvoll und ausreichend. Immer zu empfehlen. Bei schönen Wetter ist der Ausblick auf die Mosel ein Traum.

2 of our 4 meals were good -- The schnitzel and pork tenderloin special -- The spaetzle was absolutely horrible. Tasted like they had dumped a jar of cheap tomato sauce into the mixture and added some cut up hot dogs. This is NOT german spaetzle. Felt like a very cheaply made dish with a very high price tag (18.50 euro!) Neither of our children could eat it, and nor we would we encourage them to. Our children were offered to 'try' their homemade grape juice. And then the waitress came back and asked right on the spot if we wantedto buy a bottle!! Sort of an odd experience at dinner. When the bill came, they even charged us for the grape juice that THEIR waitress offered to the kids! Very strange! Did not mention anything as we knew we would not be back and surely would not recommend to anyone else. Better places in Beilstein for sure......

Beautiful location overlooking the Mosel. The special spargel (white asparagus) menu is written on a plate. We ordered the Spargel with potatoes and Hollandaise sauce as well as the Rumpsteak. The combination was wonderful. Finished off the meal with Apfelstrudel and vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious and the service matched the food.

De eerste dag zijn we hier gestopt voor kaffee und kuchen, en het was een lekkere echte käsekuchen. Hmmmm, en het kannetje koffie smaakte ook voortreffelijk. De laatste avond hier gaan dineren en hier was ook niets op aan te merken, mijn man had en carpaccio van forel die hij ook zeer lekker vond. De hele maaltijd was goed, en de bediening ook zeer vriendelijk

Hoewel het een eenvoudige Duitse keuken is, was het er heel lekker. In de namiddag ook taart gegeten en lekkere koffie gedronken. Zeker aan te raden

Einen gelungenen Tag mit dem Fahrrad wollten wir mit einem Abendessen mit Blick auf die Mosel krönen. Nach 10 Minuten Warten wurde uns ein Tisch auf der Veranda zugewiesen. Das Pärchen vor uns rauchte, dass wir permanent den Qualm abbekamen. Die Bedienung sah sich nicht imstande, die Raucher um Rücksicht zu bitten. Wir haben das als Rücksichtslosigkeit wahrgenommen und den Abend an anderer Stelle mit Blick auf die Mosel genossen. Eine solche Haltung seitens der Geschäftsführung erscheint uns derzeit nicht mehr zeitgemäß.

Tolle Lage und schönes Ambiente. Leider weiß man, dass aufgrund der Touristen das Lokal voll wird und deswegen wird Service kleingeschrieben. Leider abgehobene Touri-Bude!

Omdat het te koud was voor het terras, binnen gegeten. Zoals gebruikelijk in Duitsland lag de nadruk op "veel" i.p.v. de kwaliteit, waarmee ik niet zeg dat de kwaliteit slecht was, integendeel. Het was gewoon te veel. We aten Tafelspitz en Spätzle.
