From my perspective, it doesn't deserve even half a star because the service was disrespectful and the food was bad. This is from personal experience. We ordered dinner and found that the meal had a very bad smell. We then returned the meal to them and they didn't refund us despite contacting them more than once.

Absolutely outrageous! I ordered via Uber Eats and waited a full 1.5 hours for my food. When it finally arrived, it was a disaster: The tabbouleh tasted spoiled and completely inedible, as if it had been around for days. The chicken, potatoes, and roasted carrots were burnt and dry, and the rice was hard as rock and so salty it was inedible. Charging money for something like this is outrageous and, in my opinion, nothing short of customer fraud. This restaurant has no respect for its customers or the food it serves. I will never order from here again, and I highly recommend it to everyone! I will also report this incident to the relevant veterinary authorities and the food inspection authorities.

10/10 anyone who wants to eat real fried chicken the Halal way should go here.

1- The food arrived 35 minutes late even though I was alone and the place was empty. 2- The prices outside are different than inside (more expensive, of course), but they didn't care. 3- No card payments 4- I've ordered and eaten here several times. The food quality is inconsistent. You have to be lucky to get it right. Otherwise, the meat is dry, there's not enough rice, and the occasional crunchy manakesh... I'll never be back

Extremely good chicken. They do not take a card, but they will happily point you to an ATM nearby. They don't speak English, but the guy who runs it seems nice.

Best food I've had for my entire trip to cologne and also the cheapest. 11€ for a fairly large portion of fried chicken, thick potato chips, coleslaw adjacent goop, pickled vegetables, bread (it was kind of like a tortilla but thin and crispy), and mayonnaise. They also give you one slice of tomato and cucumber. Cashier doesn't speak english and they only take cash but they will let you to go an ATM and come back. Environment felt pleasant but it's probably because I went there at 1 am.

We've been to Almahabba several times, and the food is always delicious. The shawarma, in particular, is superbly seasoned and fresh, and the manakish are always top-notch. You can tell a lot has improved—everything is even better now than it used to be. My only minor criticism: the outdoor seating is unfortunately in the blazing sun, and there's no parasol. Some shade would be really nice, especially in hot weather. Regardless, we always enjoy coming back!

Great taste and actually way too cheap! We had a lovely seat on the large square opposite the KÖLNARKADEN and enjoyed an excellent meal for very little money. We'd go back anytime!

Absolutely outrageous experience. Instead of the Tantuni sandwich I ordered (€6), I got wraps (€5) with almost nothing but salad. My poor eyesight was blatantly exploited. When I complained, I was cheekily told that I should have noticed. The staff cut corners on the product, charged a higher price, and blamed the customer. To me, this isn't a mistake, but simply disrespectful and unprofessional. Never again.

Truly delicious, balanced Arabic cuisine with plenty of freshly prepared ingredients. The menu is very clear and offers good value for money. Beautifully simple decor. Interesting photos of oriental countries. The music complements the ambiance and creates a pleasant atmosphere. Suitable for singles and families alike. Seating is available both inside and outside. We were there during the Feast of Sacrifice and were greeted very warmly by the knowledgeable staff. We received free falafel, which tasted truly heavenly, fluffy and spicy. Even my children (who are very picky eaters) loved it. I had the Basuka Shawarma – a fantastic, heavenly 41cm shawarma. A crusty Arabic bread wrapped around fries, salad, juicy chicken sticks, and a fluffy thumm/aioli sauce. It was so delicious and filling. We then had a plate of fattoush, a green salad topped with crispy fried Arabic bread and the best pomegranate sauce ever. It was harmoniously fresh and filling. I love the interplay of crispy, sweet, sour, and savory. The price was really good. The kids had the crispiest chicken/chicken breast schnitzel—KFC can really pack a punch! It was a delicious experience! The food was excellent! We highly recommend it!

Absolutely love this place! I come here two to three times a week, and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and authentically Middle Eastern. Their shawarma is one of the best I’ve had in Cologne, juicy, perfectly spiced, and served with warm, soft bread. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the service is quick even during busy hours. It feels more like a family-run spot with genuine hospitality rather than a commercial chain. I appreciate how consistent everything is — same great taste and same warm vibe every time. Highly recommend to anyone in Kalk or visiting the area. It’s become one of my go-to spots for a satisfying and affordable meal!

The best restaurant in all of Cologne

The restaurant is small, but it serves delicious pies, manakish, and pizza, which are hot and brought to you straight from the oven. There's a large tea thermos next to you, enough for the whole family. There are other foods, but we love the pies and pizza.

Shameless store I used to order from there every week because I honestly like it too. But this is the second time they've sent me such old food, apart from the fact that it often comes out wrong. Nobody answers and if it happens there is no redress. For the first time I'm making a comment because something like this is disgusting. We order fresh food here, not something old or cold that you would throw in front of the animals like it was eaten.

My new favorite food: Syrian pizza from Abu Sultan

Please don't do it, the food was partially charred. The portion was far too small and different than the picture advertised. There were three spectacular chicken wings in two mixed grill plates. The salad was placed over the sauce, which was also very clever. So it's best to just leave it alone

The quality and prices are okay, but everything is at the level of a snack bar. Unfortunately, I had to place my order several times during each visit - something was misunderstood, not delivered, and the language was not understood. The meat was ok, as was the falafel. The sauces (something spicy and something like hummus) didn't taste good at all. There was nothing fresh on the plate. However, the pizza-like dish was delicious. Overall, a mediocre restaurant.

Ordered a shawarma plate. Food didn't taste bad, but it was already cold. Two drinks were not delivered. All I am told on the phone is that the driver forgot the drinks, but the money is withheld and the drinks are not delivered again. I can't say anything about the service since I ordered home. I had minced skewers Adana style and they had a strong fish aroma. The meat itself had nothing to do with real meat, but rather what you get at a cheap all-inclusive buffet. I was really open to trying the food there but was maximally disappointed. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER!! Two weeks ago I joined Almahabba Restaurant Abu Sultan Ordered a 2 for 1 chicken shawarma, and unfortunately I have to report a very disappointing experience. Immediately after eating the dish, I had to go to the bathroom immediately, which was already a worrying sign. But the symptoms increased: the following week I had severe stomach problems, body aches, fever and a general feeling of malaise. I was forced to go to the doctor as the symptoms kept getting worse. The diagnosis was shocking: a rare bacterial infection caused by eating the shawarma. This infection was so serious that it had to be reported to the health department. The doctor took a stool sample to determine the exact cause, and the results confirmed that the infection was caused by undercooked meat - particularly chicken. I lay in bed for almost a week, struggled with severe symptoms and had to take gastrointestinal tablets. Despite this treatment, my condition only improved after 3-4 days and I had to go to the doctor again as the symptoms continued. I can only strongly advise against ordering from this restaurant. Apparently the meat, especially chicken, is undercooked, which can lead to serious health problems. For me, this incident was not only unpleasant but also dangerous. I hope this review warns others about the risks of this restaurant.

We visited the restaurant and sat at the table for a quarter of an hour. No one came to clean the table or asked us what we wanted. The important thing is that we ordered shawarma, potatoes, and manakish. The food was good. I will definitely visit the restaurant again and again, but I hope the table service is better. After I visited the restaurant a second and third time, I found that the quality and taste of the food had decreased a lot, and I think it will no longer be the same.

I ordered via Uber eats and the food was absolutely bland. The side salad was four slices of vegetables, the 3 shawarmas had different toppings and the fries were like cardboard and not just because of the delivery time of 2 hours.

I am a big fan of Syrian pizzas (Manakish). These are always freshly prepared. In particular, the Manakish with Syrian cheese is highly recommended. You can't get the taste of cheese everywhere. In terms of taste, this is a 10 out of 10.
