Beautiful, rustic restaurant with delicious food. Very friendly service

Upon arrival at the restaurant , I inquired about available seating for one person. The waitress initially asked how many people were in my party, and upon learning I was alone, she stated there were no available tables. When I asked if there was a minimum number of people required for seating, she mentioned that the café was fully booked. This interaction left me feeling unwelcome, as it seemed my solo status was the reason for the refusal. It’s disappointing when a place values table turnover over customer experience. I hope the management reconsiders how they accommodate individual guests in the future

Historic restaurant with a lot of demand which means you should book. But be careful: here you book a seat but not a table! You will find yourself with strangers eating at the same table without notice. I did not like the food (neither the main course the pork shoulder nor the mixed dessert Dürerplatte. Very greasy but still tasteless and watery vegetables (Rotkraut) and Kartoffelknödel of very poor quality. The fabric tablecloths remain on the tables; they are not changed after each customer so for me it is unhygienic. I will not return.

A great, quaint restaurant in the heart of the city. The food is typically regional and you wouldn't dare say it - extremely cheap. 2 starters, 2 main courses, 1 dessert and 4 large beers.....under €80.- MEGA!. The staff is very friendly and attentive and professional. It is advisable to reserve in advance as it is very busy. Thank you for the extremely nice evening...we'll be back.

Our next visit did not disappoint us. I recommend the horseradish soup and the pork shank.

Classic Franconian cuisine with a very nice ambience.

Ordered via delivery for the first time because the baby was already asleep ;-) - absolutely top quality this way too, delivered quickly, warm and tasty. We chose Schäufele, cream goulash and, in addition to the side dishes, a coleslaw and were thrilled! The rating regarding service and ambience refers to the local restaurant - we still remember it from our last visit :-). Thanks!

Absolute recommendation for local cuisine and traditional ambience. Great class: despite the rush at the trade fair, everything was perfect: very nice service despite the obviously hectic visiting hours and all the tables being occupied, everything culinary (starters, main course, dessert, drinks) was easy to enjoy. But what's outstanding is the always patient, friendly staff despite the huge rush of guests.

We had a traditional Franconian lunch in this restaurant, where you can share a table with the other customers in a friendly environment. We suggest the grilled Turkey with mushrooms sauce and rosti, and the goose liver patè. The bill was super honest for what we have eaten.

Tomamos un desvío rápido para localizar el restaurante antes de nuestra reserva de la noche. Llegar tarde no es una opción en Alemania! Hicimos reservas a principios de octubre para la semana de Navidad. Estábamos un poco confundidos por la entrada interior. Volviendo varias horas después, nos unimos a una multitud de otros 8 pm comensales, y nos paramos en el pasillo. Básicamente, no hay espacio de espera, solo un pasillo interior, y nadie se registró con una anfitriona. Pero, precisamente a las 8 de la tarde, un primer grupo fue recibido por su nombre, por la anfitriona, luego, fuimos recibidos, la puerta se abrió y nos sentamos. Teníamos 4 años , y compartimos asiento con otro grupo de 4 , e intercambiamos halagos en las pocas palabras que conocíamos en lenguas europeas! El menú es tradicional, y en inglés. El restaurante es auténtico y tradicional, decorado por temporada! El servicio fue amable y eficiente en nuestra gran mesa. La comida se servía rápidamente, en porciones generosas. Nuestra única decepción fue la cocina se quedó sin la especialidad crujiente hombro de cerdo! Tomamos muestras de varios aperitivos, y el plato se vació rápidamente. Un plato de pavo de temporada era muy bueno, al igual que los medallones de cerdo. Las ensaladas eran grandes y frescas. ¡Albrecht Dürer Stube fue una experiencia animada, memorable y tradicional alemana para nuestra familia mientras visitábamos los mercados! Maravillosa elección! Tarjetas de crédito bien. El Sheraton Carlton Nuremberg está a unos 20 minutos a pie del restaurante.

Albrecht-Dürer-Stube in Nürnberg offers a delightful dine-in experience. Located conveniently near my office, it’s perfect for a solo meal. The ambiance is moderately noisy but adds a lively vibe. I enjoyed the Ofenfrisches Schäufele with Kloß mit Sauce—authentic and delicious! Booking wasn’t needed as I got a table within minutes. The washroom was neat and spotless, reflecting their attention to cleanliness. Highly recommend this spot for hearty German cuisine and great service!

Locale molto gradevole inserito al piano terreno di un edificio d'epoca a graticcio con arredamento tipico delle case della Franconia. Il cibo è quello classico della regione, di ottima qualità, ben presentato e servito da personale efficiente. Ovviamente va accompagnato con una birra di cui c'è ampia scelta. L'unico problema è che è sempre pieno e spesso occorre una prenotazione con diversi giorni di anticipo. Sono a Norimberga di frequente e questo è il mio ristorante preferito, tra l'altro in posizione centrale e in un quartiere vivace e cordiale.

Nach persönlicher Nachfrage im Lokal um 17:40 Uhr wurden wir 2 Erwachsene unfreundlich abgewiesen. Den ganzen Abend wäre reserviert. Um 20:15 Uhr sahen wir durch die Fenster das mehr als drei Tische frei waren. Wir fragen wiederholt, leider wieder die Antwort alles besetzt und reserviert . Da sollte man sich überlegen, ob es richtig ist , in so einer Art und Weise Gästen zu behandeln.

Small and cozy place with great atmosphere. Perfect for traditional Franconian food and experience. Not too touristy. Limited vegetarian options, but the Kässpätzle were tasty. The place is a bit tight and it was crowded, so better come with reservation.

We have just come from the Albrecht Dürer Stube and have taken our super seniors out. It was a stay that deserves a top-class rating from the reservation phone call to the farewell. This evening we experienced hosts whose noble goal was to pamper us and they succeeded in every respect! An understanding team where you immediately felt welcome. Being on the road with people over 80 means everything goes a little slower, but that wasn't a problem at all. An attentive service team, top-class Franconian food and being looked after was really nice to experience. We were asked if it tasted good, we were offered side dishes and/or sauce and we were in no way pressured to hurry up. Desert and coffee were offered; if we could have eaten something else, we would have happily had the desserts again. A very nice evening in a Franconian dollhouse below the imperial castle, surrounded by hosts who deserved the name and made us feel very welcome here. Gladly again at any time!

The most delicious Schäufele I have ever eaten. The meat is buttery tender, the rind is very crispy and the sauce is delicately seasoned. They have a good selection of Franconian wines and beer. The restaurant is equipped with copies of Dürer's drawings.

Very good traditional Franconian food in a half-timbered house with several floors. Both the Nuremberg sausages and the cheese spaetzle were excellent. The beer served here is from the Augustiner brewery out of Munich.

Great service: fast, friendly, competent. Food: simply delicious Ambiance: A must-see during Advent. Fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the Christmas market.

I felt very uncomfortable. I advise against single women from going. Men staring at you and pushy waiters. In the women's bathroom, strange noises could be heard coming from the men's bathroom. It goes without saying that I literally ran away because I was scared.

Schäuble was as good as the Franconians' desire for independence in the Bavarian Free State. The horseradish soups are an equal dream. The service was quick, attentive and not fussy. The only thing you couldn't like was the air. This showed why Finns enjoy a winter sauna infusion. The only thing that was much better than the birch branches was the pear schnapps afterwards.

Nice, cozy and very quaint restaurant. Great food, nice service. The price/performance ratio is great! However, a reservation is strongly recommended as there are only a few (approx. 60-70) seats available.

Anyone who likes Franconian-decorated inns is in good hands here. However, it is quite narrow and loud.

This was by far the most disappointing dinners I've had in a long time. The food was excellent but they really put their worst foot forward in terms of service and atmosphere. To start the entire restaurant was filled with smoke when we arrived so by the end of dinner we all smelled like fry oil. We were seated at a shared table next to the kitchen and the other party of 4 that was seated well after us had their order taken and their drinks delivered before we were even asked for our order. We were also asked earlier in the day if we could change our reservation to an earlier time and even though we accommodated their request we were still treated as an after thought. The only reason this restaurant gets two stars is because the food was very well done but I could not recommend eating here if this is the level of service they regularly provide.

This restaurant is at least as big an attraction for Franconian cuisine and the city of Nuremberg as some of our (other) sights! If you visit Nuremberg and don't eat here... He was never there! What this team does every day in this restaurant is absolutely amazing! We have been coming to this family restaurant regularly for many years now in the third generation and the quality has NEVER decreased in all these years! The restaurant is a rarity - in the positive sense of the word!

Friendly staff, delicious, typically Franconian food at reasonable prices. Plus a delicious beer in a cozy tavern atmosphere a bit away from tourism.

The Schäufele are a dream (the meat falls off the bone), the service keeps an overview even when the restaurant is packed and is always courteous. The ambience is a hit. Very tasty beer and I recommend the apricot schnapps for digestion.

Quaint, rustic, cozy and delicious food

We came at 7pm without a reservation and they were kind enough to fit us in, asking us to come back at 8pm. It’s a small quaint local restaurant with traditional Franconian food. There are a lot of framed embroidery on all the walls that add to the charm of this local spot. The embroidery framed in front of our table said to eat and drink without worry (trink und iss sorgenvergiss) and we followed the instructions well. We ordered the special oven roast pork with dumplings and red cabbage and somehow had room for apple fritters and warm plums for dessert. The pork was AMAZING - tender, with crispy skin, and the potato dumpling was light and fluffy and the red cabbage was also the perfect complement to the meal. Apple fritters were crispy and chewy and the warm plum was also delish. Our server was very friendly and I would highly recommend this place. Make a reservation in advance if you want to eat immediately 😊

Amazing place. The waiter was very polite and extremely effective. Very friendly, and the quality of food really high. The price is well balanced, and the atmosphere is very cozy. I came with my girlfriend, and we had to share the table with other guests, which it ended up being a marvelous night ahead. In fact these two guests, Bruno and Marco (Brasilians) became good friends of us. Great place, undoublessly. Will definetly come back as soon as I step my feet back in Nurnberg. 👌🏻👌🏻

We ate here with six people. Everyone was absolutely thrilled with the food. It was simply a pleasure. Both the main courses and the desserts. There was a time slot and you have to reserve a table well in advance, but everything was very well organized. The food came quickly and you could then relax and enjoy the fantastic dessert. The service was also outstanding. Friendly, on the ball and had everything under control very well. We definitely have to go back here

Ate very well in a beautiful, typically German environment

I can't find a better place to eat pork shoulder in Nuremberg. Technically, if you open the menu Schäufele will be in Red ♥️ and y can order it easily. I also like horseradish soup 🍲. It's like a Michelin restaurant for Franconia cuisine.

Were invited there for an 80th birthday, and accordingly a lot of people. The food (Schäufele) was really very good, and the staff was consistently friendly, patient and helpful. In our opinion we really recommend it :)

We were very much looking forward to visiting this restaurant, but unfortunately left a bit disappointed. The environment is unique, quaint and generally very nice. The waitress was friendly. Unfortunately, though the food was well presented, we found that it really lacked flavour. We had expected more due to the many wonderful reviews. Maybe we were just unlucky the evening we went there...

Food was excellent and atmosphere perfect for somebody visiting from abroad. We were very late for our reservation and they were very understanding and seated us anyway. The beef roll and pork knuckle were very large and definitely two of the standouts.

My husband and I had pre-booked a table for two people for 8 p.m. When we arrived we were seated at a table that was already occupied by four people. The tablecloth was full of stains. If you had already pre-ordered a table by phone, you should have informed us that there were no two tables left. This evening was actually supposed to be a special evening for my husband and me. It's a place with absolute mass sales.

Vielleicht sollte man sowas bei einer telefonische Reservierung anmerken. Wir hatten das gefühl das es eine richtige Massen Abfertigung war. Eigentlich hatten mein Mann und ichuns einen besonderen Abend uns gewünscht . Das einzige positive war , es Essen war sehr lecker.
