Albrecht-Dürer-Stube in Nürnberg offers a delightful dine-in experience. Located conveniently near my office, it’s perfect for a solo meal. The ambiance is moderately noisy but adds a lively vibe. I enjoyed the Ofenfrisches Schäufele with Kloß mit Sauce—authentic and delicious! Booking wasn’t needed as I got a table within minutes. The washroom was neat and spotless, reflecting their attention to cleanliness. Highly recommend this spot for hearty German cuisine and great service!

Local Franconian cuisine. Any time

The food on the menu was really good, especially the meat dishes were convincing, the service was friendly and quick, and the prices were also reasonable.

Small and cozy place with great atmosphere. Perfect for traditional Franconian food and experience. Not too touristy. Limited vegetarian options, but the Kässpätzle were tasty. The place is a bit tight and it was crowded, so better come with reservation.

We have just come from the Albrecht Dürer Stube and have taken our super seniors out. It was a stay that deserves a top-class rating from the reservation phone call to the farewell. This evening we experienced hosts whose noble goal was to pamper us and they succeeded in every respect! An understanding team where you immediately felt welcome. Being on the road with people over 80 means everything goes a little slower, but that wasn't a problem at all. An attentive service team, top-class Franconian food and being looked after was really nice to experience. We were asked if it tasted good, we were offered side dishes and/or sauce and we were in no way pressured to hurry up. Desert and coffee were offered; if we could have eaten something else, we would have happily had the desserts again. A very nice evening in a Franconian dollhouse below the imperial castle, surrounded by hosts who deserved the name and made us feel very welcome here. Gladly again at any time!

The most delicious Schäufele I have ever eaten. The meat is buttery tender, the rind is very crispy and the sauce is delicately seasoned. They have a good selection of Franconian wines and beer. The restaurant is equipped with copies of Dürer's drawings.

Very good traditional Franconian food in a half-timbered house with several floors. Both the Nuremberg sausages and the cheese spaetzle were excellent. The beer served here is from the Augustiner brewery out of Munich.

I felt very uncomfortable. I advise against single women from going. Men staring at you and pushy waiters. In the women's bathroom, strange noises could be heard coming from the men's bathroom. It goes without saying that I literally ran away because I was scared.

Schäuble was as good as the Franconians' desire for independence in the Bavarian Free State. The horseradish soups are an equal dream. The service was quick, attentive and not fussy. The only thing you couldn't like was the air. This showed why Finns enjoy a winter sauna infusion. The only thing that was much better than the birch branches was the pear schnapps afterwards.

Nice, cozy and very quaint restaurant. Great food, nice service. The price/performance ratio is great! However, a reservation is strongly recommended as there are only a few (approx. 60-70) seats available.

Anyone who likes Franconian-decorated inns is in good hands here. However, it is quite narrow and loud.

This was by far the most disappointing dinners I've had in a long time. The food was excellent but they really put their worst foot forward in terms of service and atmosphere. To start the entire restaurant was filled with smoke when we arrived so by the end of dinner we all smelled like fry oil. We were seated at a shared table next to the kitchen and the other party of 4 that was seated well after us had their order taken and their drinks delivered before we were even asked for our order. We were also asked earlier in the day if we could change our reservation to an earlier time and even though we accommodated their request we were still treated as an after thought. The only reason this restaurant gets two stars is because the food was very well done but I could not recommend eating here if this is the level of service they regularly provide.

The best knuckle I have tried in Europe. Super cozy atmosphere, very friendly, fast service and great value for money. If one day I am lucky enough to return to Nuremberg, I will not hesitate to eat here again. Gluten-free options.

This restaurant is at least as big an attraction for Franconian cuisine and the city of Nuremberg as some of our (other) sights! If you visit Nuremberg and don't eat here... He was never there! What this team does every day in this restaurant is absolutely amazing! We have been coming to this family restaurant regularly for many years now in the third generation and the quality has NEVER decreased in all these years! The restaurant is a rarity - in the positive sense of the word!

Friendly staff, delicious, typically Franconian food at reasonable prices. Plus a delicious beer in a cozy tavern atmosphere a bit away from tourism.

The Schäufele are a dream (the meat falls off the bone), the service keeps an overview even when the restaurant is packed and is always courteous. The ambience is a hit. Very tasty beer and I recommend the apricot schnapps for digestion.

Quaint, rustic, cozy and delicious food

We came at 7pm without a reservation and they were kind enough to fit us in, asking us to come back at 8pm. It’s a small quaint local restaurant with traditional Franconian food. There are a lot of framed embroidery on all the walls that add to the charm of this local spot. The embroidery framed in front of our table said to eat and drink without worry (trink und iss sorgenvergiss) and we followed the instructions well. We ordered the special oven roast pork with dumplings and red cabbage and somehow had room for apple fritters and warm plums for dessert. The pork was AMAZING - tender, with crispy skin, and the potato dumpling was light and fluffy and the red cabbage was also the perfect complement to the meal. Apple fritters were crispy and chewy and the warm plum was also delish. Our server was very friendly and I would highly recommend this place. Make a reservation in advance if you want to eat immediately 😊

Amazing place. The waiter was very polite and extremely effective. Very friendly, and the quality of food really high. The price is well balanced, and the atmosphere is very cozy. I came with my girlfriend, and we had to share the table with other guests, which it ended up being a marvelous night ahead. In fact these two guests, Bruno and Marco (Brasilians) became good friends of us. Great place, undoublessly. Will definetly come back as soon as I step my feet back in Nurnberg. 👌🏻👌🏻

We ate here with six people. Everyone was absolutely thrilled with the food. It was simply a pleasure. Both the main courses and the desserts. There was a time slot and you have to reserve a table well in advance, but everything was very well organized. The food came quickly and you could then relax and enjoy the fantastic dessert. The service was also outstanding. Friendly, on the ball and had everything under control very well. We definitely have to go back here

Ate very well in a beautiful, typically German environment

I can't find a better place to eat pork shoulder in Nuremberg. Technically, if you open the menu Schäufele will be in Red ♥️ and y can order it easily. I also like horseradish soup 🍲. It's like a Michelin restaurant for Franconia cuisine.

Were invited there for an 80th birthday, and accordingly a lot of people. The food (Schäufele) was really very good, and the staff was consistently friendly, patient and helpful. In our opinion we really recommend it :)

We were very much looking forward to visiting this restaurant, but unfortunately left a bit disappointed. The environment is unique, quaint and generally very nice. The waitress was friendly. Unfortunately, though the food was well presented, we found that it really lacked flavour. We had expected more due to the many wonderful reviews. Maybe we were just unlucky the evening we went there...

Food was excellent and atmosphere perfect for somebody visiting from abroad. We were very late for our reservation and they were very understanding and seated us anyway. The beef roll and pork knuckle were very large and definitely two of the standouts.

My husband and I had pre-booked a table for two people for 8 p.m. When we arrived we were seated at a table that was already occupied by four people. The tablecloth was full of stains. If you had already pre-ordered a table by phone, you should have informed us that there were no two tables left. This evening was actually supposed to be a special evening for my husband and me. It's a place with absolute mass sales.

Mein Mann und ich hatten einen Tisch für 20.00Uhr vorbestellt. Als wir ankamen wurden wir an einen Tisch der schon mit 4 Personen besetzt war dazu gesetzt. Vielleicht sollte man sowas bei einer telefonische Reservierung anmerken. Wir hatten das gefühl das es eine richtige Massen Abfertigung war. Eigentlich hatten mein Mann und ichuns einen besonderen Abend uns gewünscht . Das einzige positive war , es Essen war sehr lecker.

Locale molto caratteristico con personale abbigliato con costumi tradizionali. Cucina altrettanto tradizionale, ottimi ed abbondanti. In particolare deliziosa la spalla di maiale croccantissima che è il loro piatto forte. Buonissimi anche i kasespatzle e le salsicce di Norimberga. Unico neo l'eccessivo caldo ma la giornata lo era davvero molto. Però abbiamo chiesto di aprire le finestre e non ci è stato negato. Peccato perché volevamo tornarci la sera successiva ma erano chiusi...

Authentic restaurant with a tasteful traditional ambience in a beautiful old half-timbered house, very authentic... Service was friendly and very fast, but we got there early, later it was busy and the shop was full. My Schäufele was tender and almost bone-in + perfect crust. Red cabbage also very good, toilets unspectacular, meat and sauce tasteless. Prices very fair for the location.

We came here 13 years ago and I remember that this was the best meal of my life so of course, we had to come again! 13 years later, I'm happy to report that the kitchen is still in my top 5 restaurants in the world! It is a must!

Honestly some of the best food in the world. The menu looks simple but the food is not. We've only tried a few dishes but it seems like the type of place where you can't go wrong. Absolutely amazing!

Franconian cuisine in the appropriate ambience.

They used to be extremely good, and I was always treated well by one of the older waitresses, especially if I was there with my German husband (although I speak German as well). Meanwhile, today I went there alone without a reservation, which I informed them about upon my entrance. They seated me with a gentleman I did not know, in an almlst completely empty restaurant. When I asked to be seated alone, the young waitress rejected my request even though the restaurant was almost empty and there wasn't any upcoming reservations on the other tables, as the restaurant was about to close in one hour and a half (I went there at 13:30, and the closing time is 15.00). You can clearly see on the pictures I provided that there was almost no one else (except for two other people). The waitress also tried to get me to pay with cash, even though we have always paid by card in this restourant and there never was any problem. Please bear in mind we come here three to four times a year. She did not impose this on her other, German customers and I understand enough German to hear that she accepted their cards with no additional comments. I am not sure why they are trying to get their guests to pay with cash, when the terminal is not broken and when card payments are also possible. I am also failing to understand why they push some customers to pay with cash, while the others are given the option and more than welcome to pay by card. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Nürnberg, but now I would advise against visiting it on Friday afternoons. I am not sure if we will ever come here without checking who exactly is waiting on guests for the day, as I would like to avoid the stress I experienced today. Such a shame, because the food is impeccable, succulent and really authentic.

The Albrecht-Dürer-Stube in the heart of Nuremberg's old town is our absolute heart recommendation: The rustic and cozy ambience of the restaurant immediately creates a feel-good atmosphere. The Franconian dishes are extremely delicious and the generous selection leaves nothing to be desired. The price-performance ratio is also great. We were particularly impressed by the extremely friendly, courteous and attentive waiter Jörg, who gave us a very warm welcome and excellent hospitality. Thanks to him, we will have positive memories of the evening for a long time. We will be back definitely!

Everything is right in this culinary oasis. I was able to enjoy the most delicious Schäufle, a dumpling of the finest quality and red cabbage so well seasoned that I can still rave about it. Pintoresco restaurante de cocina local, con unos precios algo más bajos que la media de la ciudad. Compartimos entre 4 personas salchichas encebolladas, la pasta spätzle con queso, medallones de cerdo en salsa de mostaza y el schäufele, todo muy rico. Con varias rondas de bebida salimos a 25 euros por persona, más que razonable. El camarero que nos atendió en general fue amable, aunque a veces nos daba la impresión de que se reía de nosotros hablando en alemán con unos chicos de la misma mesa. Si no era así lo parecía, por lo que debería tener cuidado con esos detalles.

EVERYTHING is right here! If you want to enjoy Franconian cuisine, you've come to the right place! In the middle of the old town...near the castle! Friendly and quick service, a homely atmosphere, topped with excellent Franconian cuisine. We love Schäufele, which can only be found in Franconia! Large portions at fair prices. Be sure to reserve in good time...Always fully booked. And be careful... don't confuse it with the Albrecht-Dürer-HAUS restaurant. Unfortunately, this is a bit of a letdown... expensive and mediocre food.
