The owner is very friendly! Unfortunately, the doner kebab for €10 was a complete disappointment. We ordered beef, but some of the meat tasted strongly of lamb. How is that possible? The bread and sauce were completely tasteless. Overall, it was very bland. Definitely too expensive for €10. The portion size was also quite small. We wouldn't eat here again and unfortunately don't understand the many positive reviews.

I stumbled upon this place quite by chance while searching for a restaurant with doner kebab on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste, especially since the flatbread is still made by hand – quite unusual. This gives the doner a truly authentic, traditional flavor. They also offer other delicious grilled dishes with appropriate sides, as well as a daily special. I highly recommend this grill restaurant, not least because of the very friendly, family-run atmosphere!

Alaturka Heilbronn – Unfortunately, Not a Convincing Experience I recently ordered something from Alaturka and was able to pick it up after about 20 minutes. The gentleman who prepared my meal was very friendly, which I definitely want to highlight. The shop itself seemed largely tidy, although it could have been a bit cleaner in some places. Unfortunately, the kebab didn't impress me in terms of taste. The meat was quite tasteless, the bun was unspectacular, and the sauce wasn't anything special either – overall, for me, it was a sub-par kebab. The kunefe was tasty, but didn't seem homemade, more like a convenience product. Especially considering the prices, I don't think the value for money here is good. For a dish that doesn't impress in terms of quality and a dessert that probably wasn't freshly made, the price is too high. Overall, it wasn't a worthwhile experience for me—I definitely know of more compelling alternatives in and around Heilbronn.

The Alaturka grill restaurant has been based in Heilbronn since 2010 and when it comes to kebab, my wife and I have only been at this address for years. The flatbread is homemade, the kebab meat comes from a pure beef skewer (chicken is also available as an option) and the vegetables are always nice and fresh. The kebab here is well-balanced and topped off with a delicious sauce. Of course, there are also many other delicious dishes on offer. The owner and his wife are always very friendly and make the visit a wonderful experience. Note: I can only say to the newcomers to the kebab culture that is “underrepresented” in Heilbronn and who think they are bringing the best kebab to Heilbronn: Eat a kebab at Alaturka. On my Heilbronn tour I was specifically looking for a kebab shop that sells real kebab, namely meat kebab. Alaturka was then recommended to me. I then ordered a kebab with a few side dishes, just green salad, tomatoes and onions. The flatbread was freshly baked by the boss himself. High-quality home-made meat kebab is a little more expensive than the average kebab, but it's worth it and is no comparison to the standard kebab that you can find everywhere, which are mostly frozen and factory-made. Of course they taste good too, but a homemade meat kebab is a few notches higher. So conclusion: Very tasty kebab with a very nice owner. There is also a huge selection of other Turkish grill dishes and home cooking. Since I'm basically not a test eater, I didn't try any more. Just take a look for yourself and comment below 🙂
