Akropolis in Bad Steben

I was full, the boss was friendly, the heating was warm and I had a chair, that was it.

Starter: grilled pepperoni with garlic bread; main course: gyros with tomato rice and tzatziki. Very tasty, generous portions, and excellent value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff! Reservations are a must (especially on Saturday evenings)! We'll definitely be back!

I had by far the worst meal I've ever had at a Greek restaurant. Maybe the cook doesn't know what spices are? He should check. And the prices... they're loaded with spices. Chicken, croquettes... Never again for me.

Without a reservation, there's no chance, but whether you really want that is another matter. The food was either underseasoned or overseasoned. Half of it was burnt and tasted bitter. The place had a touch of an old village pub feel, trying to evoke a Greek atmosphere with a bit of decor. Hygiene also leaves a lot to be desired, especially in the restrooms.

Didn't have to wait long, food is good, and price is reasonable

The food was very tasty. I had gyro calamari with potato sticks, a delicious tzatziki with garlic flavor—I assume it was homemade and not a ready-made dish. There was also a delicious leaf coleslaw seasoned with a delicious olive oil and vinegar vinaigrette. Unfortunately, the chopped leaf lettuce is already visible in the photo. A nice and friendly welcome, good and courteous service. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it.

The food was edible—other than that, unfortunately, there's nothing positive to say about it. The service was rather abysmal. We asked for more salad instead of fries with our main course, but our efforts were simply ignored. The food was generally lacking in seasoning. The pita bread was soaked in grease. When we expressed objective criticism, we were simply ignored. As we were leaving, a kitchen assistant approached us with a huge bowl with tzatziki still hanging from it. It didn't look appetizing. One time, never again.

It's edible, nothing else positive to say. Rude host, bland, ready-made, kiosk-quality food. The price-performance ratio is absolutely terrible—I won't be setting foot there again.

The ambiance and service were very good; the waitresses were very nice and friendly. I really enjoyed the food, and so did my child and grandmother. Some might view this as a negative, as many people pay by card. The fact that they only accept cash is a temporary option, or permanent. It doesn't bother me, as I prefer paying with cash when eating out. So, it's definitely worth a visit, especially since Bad Steben has a beautiful spa gardens.

We had a reservation for 10 people. It took almost an hour from ordering to serving the food. In my opinion, that was far too long.

Another Greek restaurant. Our review series continues. The ambiance only gets one star. It was way too loud. The food was good. Only the Metaxa sauce was awful. We've eaten so many Mataxa sauces. Oh no...it was awful. But otherwise, it was tasty. The restaurant is full, and that's a good thing. Best wishes from Thuringia.

A typical Greek tavern located in the center of town at a crossroads, featuring white decorative elements and murals. For those who prefer outdoor seating, there's also a wooden terrace in front of the restaurant at the crossroads. Inside, there's a large mural depicting the Temple of Athena at Delphi. Ouzo was served as an aperitif right at the beginning of the drinks service. The portions were generous.

The food is delicious, the service is top-notch! The ambiance inside is very nice, but I don't like the outside. Value: Good food like this can cost a bit, but I think it's reasonable. I'd be happy to go back, thank you!

A lovely, cozy, family-run little Greek restaurant with absolutely fantastic food and very reasonable prices

Unfortunately, the prices were significantly higher than on the website. The food was okay. Side dishes like tzatziki were quite limited. For the price, you'd expect more from the food. Not suitable for larger groups (more than 5-6) due to the spatial separation between the tables. The service seemed rather stressed and unfriendly during our visit. Card payments were also not accepted. Due to the poor value for money, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

If you want to grab a quick bite and have cash on you (cards aren't accepted), you should go for it. Clear menu, standard service.

Unfortunately it was cold and uncomfortable the day we were there. The motto was to eat quickly and get out again. Too bad... The food was bland, but perhaps we are spoiled by other Greek restaurants.

Conclusion after 5 dinners, the Acropolis is comfortably furnished in a typical Greek flair. The owner and the staff are very friendly. The portions are always sufficient and warm, and on two evenings the food was okay. The other times the food was either very salty, the liver was like rubber or the meat was so dry and burnt that it wasn't a feast for the palate. It's a shame, that was our last visit.

DANGER!!!! UNTRUSTWORTHY!!!! DANGER!!!! What a liar!!! I wanted to dine there shortly before 7 p.m., was alone and asked for a seat for myself. There were 5 empty tables. I was then told by a bearded man that all tables were reserved. (without a reservation notice/sign, it seemed strange to me right away!) I then went back to my guesthouse (approx. 5 minutes) and then immediately called Akropolis and asked if there were still places available! Answer was yes, for how many people??? I won't let them fool me!!!! Never again!!!! Honesty has little to do with it!!!

Closed due to wealth. Apparently this innkeeper no longer needs to keep his own opening hours. Shortly before 12 p.m. today we were standing in front of the locked door at the restaurant, which according to the notice opens at 11:30 a.m. Another family was also there at the same time as us. There was no indication anywhere that it would be closed today, neither on site nor on the homepage. Another oh-so-poor host who was so damaged by Corona.

Not particularly tasty. The gyros were not edible, as was the tomato rice (the rice tasted so much like Christmas. There is no bread for the starter (it costs extra). The service was not particularly polite and overwhelmed. There was also a hair in the food. The wrong food was delivered or the side dish was sometimes forgotten. Not recommendable.

I went to the Acropolis with my mother today and we can only recommend it. The cellar was attentive and quick. We also had the Ouzo, which has already been mentioned several times...😁. My mother (82) thought it was really tasty... For dinner we had the island platter, a seafood platter for 2 people. It was plentiful and really good. The presentation was nice and everything was very tasty. Plus the delicious tzatziki. Yami... Go there people!

It is advisable to reserve in advance as there are few restaurants open in the town around lunchtime on weekends. Pleasant Greek restaurant with good food

Unfriendly service staff, they made you feel like you were too much 😔! If the order is changed, the guest has to pay extra for everything (instead of rice, fries were ordered but charged extra) No invoice issued! IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE AGAIN!!!

Very friendly restaurant, super great staff, the food tastes delicious. We chose the fried zucchini, garlic potatoes and thinly sliced ​​pork with cheese stuffing. Since I like tomato rice more with the meat, I asked for it straight away. Wishes are fulfilled without any problem. Simply delicious. The zucchini was really cross on the outside. We recommend.

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, freundliche Bedienung und sehr leckeres Essen. Auf Empfehlung haben wir den Feuerspieß und die Knoblauchkartoffeln gegessen. Scharf ja, aber wirklich sehr lecker. Nachspeise war auch eine realistische Portionsgröße. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Alles in allem zu empfehlen, nur der besuch mit Kleinkind ist etwas ungünstig da alles ziemlich eng ist und die Toiletten sollten mal etwas mehr Beachtung bekommen.

Ein sehr nettes, typisches Griechisches Lokal. So wie man sich beim Griechen wohl fühlt. Freundliche, aufmerksame Bedienung. Reichlich Fleisch zum Essen und den Ouzo zum ersten Getränk. Und zum Schluss noch den Metaxa für die guten Freunde; wer danach frägt 🤗

Wir könnten auf der aufgestellten Terrasse im Außenbereich essen. Es war alles sauber und wir saßen im Schatten. Das Essen war nach der Bestellung schnell da und reichlich. Es gab einen Ouzo kostenlos als Willkommensgruß.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Bedienung zügig. Die Rechnung kam erst nach zweimaliger Nachfrage. Die Außenterrasse ist nicht besonders gemütlich, da sehr nah an der Straße gelegen und etwas schmucklos Aber insgesamt stimmt das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis und ich würde das Restaurant weiter empfehlen.
