Acheron in Dresden

A very nice place. The food wasn't particularly special, a bit tasteless. The chef was at many tables and kept walking past us without even asking if we liked our food. The neighboring tables were given ouzo; we're used to it that if you bring ouzo, every table gets one. It's a shame, we're more hospitable.

Still as good as it was 7 years ago, would like to come more often, but 560 km is unfortunately too far away.

We've been coming here for several years now, and it's always like a few hours of vacation. The ambiance is idyllic and the food is perfect. The price/performance ratio is perfectly balanced.

I hadn't eaten kritharaki in 40 years and was eager to experience it again. The Acheron isn't exactly the best on the menu, as there was only one dish with it. But the quality is definitely superior; it doesn't get any better than this.

We were there today with a group. The terrace was 3/4 full, and the interior was 2/3 full when we arrived. We waited 15 minutes for our first drinks, an hour for the food after ordering, and even the provided salad plate didn't help. And then the food arrived one after the other! (Within 10 minutes from the first to the last dish). Reason: it was very busy; an hour is normal. Too bad if that's normal.

We spent a wonderful evening at Acheron. The restaurant is lovingly designed, with a stylish ambiance and a very welcoming atmosphere. The food was simply authentic, freshly prepared, and of a high standard. The portions were more than ample. We would particularly like to highlight the service: The waiters were extremely friendly, attentive, and warm, without being intrusive. We felt welcome from the very beginning. A place we can wholeheartedly recommend – we will definitely be back!

We've been regulars for 10 years and can confirm that the Greek restaurant Acheron on Königstrasse in Dresden is truly highly recommended! You can sit comfortably inside, either in the Artium or in the lovingly decorated rooms of the restaurant, or on the terrace when the weather is nice. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and you feel welcome from the very beginning. The food is freshly prepared and tastes excellent; especially (number 64) was a treat! The portions are generous and the prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The free 24 Ouzo is perfect. As always, a successful evening – we'd love to come back!

Unfortunately, the quality has declined considerably. There are candles on the table, but they're not lit. You have to get your own oil and vinegar. There's no dessert menu, and no coffee is offered. The food isn't really prepared with love. You get the feeling it's all just a quick buck. The "free ouzo" still seems to attract Dresdeners, though.

Despite good service, the food was rather disappointing - the gyros was bone dry, the garlic potatoes seriously over-salted to the point of being inedible, the salmon overcooked and dry, etc. Moreover, we waited a very long time for the main course. Given the overall good reviews, I would assume that the cook either had a bad day or a day off. The silver lining was that the very nice waitress brought us ouzo before and after the meal. Given our experience, we will not return.

We ended our evening here and found the food, while not exceptional, quite good. The portions were filling enough to fill us up. We were a little disappointed that we were only offered "inside" and "outside" seating – even though there were beautiful spots under the green canopy in the courtyard. You can't hide things like that! We sat on the terrace facing the street, which fortunately had little traffic. During our meal, we were disturbed by both persistent flies and constant questions from the waiter. Less would have been more here. But all in all, you can have a good time and enjoy the food.

Located a little away from the hustle and bustle of Dresden, in the beautiful Baroque quarter.

While walking through the new town, we were caught in the rain and took refuge under the umbrellas at the Acheron. We were really lucky. A member of the staff who saw us offered us a good coffee. Unfortunately, we couldn't hear him because of the rain. But it was just lovely. It's definitely a great place. 👍👍. We'll definitely come for dinner next time. Thanks again for the shelter.

Wir waren tagsüber dort und konnten außen sitzen, sehr angenehm, freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Als interessantes Begrüßungsgetränk gab es einen holunderartigen Likör, den ich zunächst als alkoholfreien Ouzo bezeichnen wollte. Vorspeisen und die Bifteki waren wirklich sehr gut, vor allem der Zaziki war von perfekter Würze, das Gyros leider etwas trocken. Der Grillteller war etwas einfallslos hergerichtet, vor allem die „Grillkartoffeln“ waren einfache, frittierte Kartoffelscheiben. Dennoch, bei Gelegenheit würde ich da schon mal wieder hingehen.

The grill should be cleaned better. The grill had burnt residue from the previous owner.

Some of the appetizer portions are quite large. The server should have pointed this out. The weather was nice, and we sat outside.

Everything was great, as always.

We spent two days in Dresden and ate twice at the Acheron. We've rarely had such delicious Greek food. Excellent staff, very clean, and tastefully decorated. We felt very comfortable. 100 stars to the entire staff. We'll be back 😋

I can only recommend this kitchen; everything was cooked to perfection, fantastic. The salad was delicious, and the dessert melted in your mouth. The service was fantastic, and the ambiance was also impressive.

We spent three days in Dresden and went to dinner at the "Acheron" every day. The food is fantastic, and the staff is very attentive and friendly. We tried a different dish every day and were delighted every time. As long-time holidaymakers in Greece, we often enjoy Greek food at home, too. This restaurant, however, is the best of all the Greek restaurants we've ever visited.

Für die Qualität der Speisen, die Geschwindigkeit der Bedienung und den Preis komme ich gerne wieder - wenn ich nicht alleine hier gewesen wäre hätte mich die Lautstärke an Nachbartischen noch mehr gestört (dafür einen Punkt Abzug, sorry, wenn das nicht normal ist).

This is the worst Greek food I have ever had. The Moussaka could have been cooked days ago, it was tasteless with a uniform pudding like texture. The salad was iceberg lettuce and shredded carrots with thousand island dressing....not very Greek. The calamari was undercooked (ugh!). the lamb chops were okay but no Tzatziki in sight for either... rice was cold....as were the unspoiled potatoes.........Atmosphere? Prison cafeteria? A tenfold yuck! We should have taken photos of the food. you can see how awful it is.

Absolutely disappointing! The meal at this so-called Greek restaurant was a complete disaster. The fries were obviously frozen and served cold. A complete no-go! But that wasn't all. The lamb rump was a disgrace. Dry as a desert and tasteless. As if that wasn't bad enough, the waitress brought the wrong drink. I've never eaten such awful food or experienced such poor service. Save your money and find another restaurant. You'll only be disappointed here!

There were four of us with dinner reservations today. It was very tasty, all the service staff were very friendly and we felt very comfortable. We had several starters and left well satisfied. Highly recommended.

We waited a long time for the food and then only one came. We should have been given the information beforehand that a tour group was there, then we would have gone somewhere else. What annoyed me was the comment that the waiting time of 1 hour was normal. Any extra for the inconvenience? None.

Wir hatten das beste Gyros seit langem. Sehr fein geschnitten und gegrillt, gutes Fleisch und mit Zaziki, das genau die richtige Menge Knofi hatte. Auch den roten Hauswein kann empfehlen. Geht dorthin, es lohnt sich!

One of the best Greek restaurants in Dresden! Treat yourself to the baked cheese as an appetizer! The prices are fair, the service is friendly and attentive. The excellent red house wine, spicy and bitter but not too dry, can also be bought for home.

We went to the Acheron for the first time with friends. We were amazed at how many seats there were inside - plus the large outdoor area. All tables were occupied and the service staff had a lot to do with it, but were still always friendly to the guests. Because of the many guests, it was really loud and stuffy in the dining room, which was a shame. The food itself was beautifully prepared. One of our starters was forgotten. We then waited 1.5 hours for the main course - that's just too long. For us as vegetarians, the selection of dishes was manageable: a selection from the starters, salad (hardly any vegetarians in the restaurant order salad as a main course) or two pasta dishes, in which only the vegetables vary. So it was the pasta dishes. They were really well prepared, but they were just a little under-seasoned. At least the vegetarian dishes were labeled, great! :) There was ouzo at the beginning and end, thank you!

I was very happy with my visit here! The food was really tasty and freshly prepared. I was particularly impressed by the selection of dishes. The service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere was pleasant, not too hectic, so it was easy to relax. A lovely restaurant that I would definitely recommend!

The food tasted excellent, although there was a lot of garlic for me. The service was great, as expected on New Year's Eve there was a lot of activity. The ambience was only detracted by a somewhat unnecessary projector with Greek sea videos, otherwise everything was great. After the meal there was a free ouzo. Gladly again!

A Greek restaurant that doesn't have a single rice dish on the menu doesn't deserve its name. You can order tomato rice at the exorbitant price of €4.80. The burnt-tasting flatbread was accompanied by homeopathic quantities of tzatziki with a consistency similar to quark. Red wine lovers should stay away from house wine. I was there twice: the first and the last time!

Very good food with nice service

Went there spontaneously and there was a table available for 2 hours. The ambience is appealing, but the large rooms are still comfortable. Ordering went quickly and the food didn't take long to arrive. Due to a misunderstanding, the waitresses were initially rude...they noticed our displeasure and then everyone was very noticeably friendly. We were asked 4-5 times if everything was OK. The food was really very tasty. Tip: reserve in advance.

Met 4 koppels gaan dineren. Super lekker eten en meer dan genoeg. Alleen zonde dat we nog aan de aperitief zaten, en dat ze met de hoofdschotel aankwamen. We hebben dan nog lang getrokken om te bestellen, en nog eens gezegd dat we geen haast hadden. Maar ze kwamen al veel te vroeg. Zonde dus geen wijn gedronken tijden het eten. Ze kwamen met een shotje vooraf, en na het eten nog eens een lekker Ouzo.Heel vriendelijke bediening. We waren hier goedkoop gesteld 220€ was de rekening, Dus dat viel wel mee.

My wife and I came here for lunch, the staff was very friendly and the ambience was inviting. The place looks well maintained and toilets were very clean. My wife had the side dish as a main course and was very happy with it and I had the bifteki, which I also liked very much, but was a bit too much for me personally.

Food was great, rooms and tables were very tight, waiting time was a little longer with advance notice, but everything was still within limits! Price-performance ratio is definitely good, we would come back

Der Empfang war mäßig freundlich, vor allem aber ließen der Chef und sein Frau (?) die ganze Zeit deutlich spüren, wie genervt sie sind. Das restliche Personal war nur wenig freundlicher. Die Speisen an sich waren in Ordnung, was Menge und Qualität betrifft. Fazit: Es gibt genügend andere Restaurants in Dresden!

The staff was friendly, but the food left a lot to be desired. Mushroom pan with too much spinach and just 4 mushrooms. Moussaka made from ready-made potatoes and chicken breast fillet definitely from the freezer and very cheaply processed. The worst Greek restaurant we have ever eaten at can really be avoided.

We went to Gut Glück on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. without a reservation and were offered a place without any problems, which was still reserved from 6:15 p.m. We ordered, ate in no time and were ready at 6pm without any stress. The food was delicious and well made. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is just nice and very personable. I can just say thank you.

A Greek restaurant. We think Greek cuisine is okay and decided to try it again. The starter was delicious, goat cheese in filo pastry with honey and sesame seeds, and garlic bread with tzaziki. We thought the portions were quite large. Furthermore, the food is all very basic and the harsh lighting does not make it very cozy. It was mainly production, that's how it felt to us. Nothing to the detriment of the people in the service, it just turned out not to be our place, this restaurant.

Good Greek food. It was crowded on the Saturday night we were here, but the food was served quite quickly. The staff pays attention to empty glasses and will ask you if you need anything every once in a while. Pricing is fair.

haHaha, every time we visit Fanny and her family, we look forward to a fun evening. The family atmosphere and the delicious food leave nothing to be desired. We always have the feeling of being more than guests. Thank you for your hospitality and entertainment. Delicious, friendly, funny, simply recommended.
