Timm and Annemike Schmeelcke's "Esszimmer" restaurant has been tucked away in the old halls of the fishing harbor for five years. The ambiance is puristic yet cozy, with a view of the fishing harbor. The service is warm and relaxed, yet smooth and professional. The cuisine impresses with high-quality products with a seasonal and regional focus, modern and innovative presentation, and, above all, meticulous preparation with perfect cooking times. You can choose from a menu with 3-6 courses, depending on your preference. Each course is a visual and gustatory delight for me. The poached cod is simply fantastic! Without a doubt, the "Esszimmer" is one of the absolute top addresses in Cuxhaven. It's all the more surprising that this restaurant hasn't yet been mentioned in the relevant guides. Absolutely lives up to expectations; just looking at the pictures makes your mouth water. The owner is simply fantastic. It was a real experience, and of course, the smörebrod was delicious, so we ordered a second one. It certainly wasn't our last visit, and since we live locally, it won't be long. And everything's organic 😀

We were invited to Oktoberfest with friends over the weekend. I can only say we had a really great time. The festival was a great success. Great decorations, a fantastic DJ, and the drinks and food were top-notch. We definitely felt well looked after and will definitely be back.

A fantastic restaurant! You walk in and immediately feel "at home." The staff is exceptionally friendly and customer-oriented. The ambiance is appealing. There are plenty of tables for two, ensuring a certain degree of privacy. The food selection is fantastic, and the value for money is excellent. The food itself leaves nothing to be desired. Other restaurants in the area would have a hard time matching Sagres.
