957 Ramen Bar in Marburg

Having found this place through a Google search, we were unfortunately disappointed. The dish was over-seasoned, and the portion of rice was insufficient. The attached picture clearly shows that the presentation was unappealing. The cramped and chaotic conditions did not contribute to the romantic atmosphere that couples might desire.

Very nice shop. Unfortunately, you can only sit outside or with a reservation.

We come here regularly, it's simply a great restaurant and the food is delicious!

The small restaurant is located right on the slope, the space is small but just enough, feels very cozy. Ramen for me is nothing special, tea and okonomiyaki too. But the staff is very enthusiastic and gentle, still worth experiencing once.

The food was very good, but unfortunately it took quite a while. The two of us were lucky to get a table at lunchtime without a reservation, and unfortunately, we waited 45 minutes for two dishes… but the wait was worth it; the chicken ramen soup was delicious. The ambiance leaves something to be desired, and at lunchtime it's about as noisy as a train station concourse, but that's something you can overlook given the food.

I had the vegan miso ramen with tofu, and it was delicious. The atmosphere and the entire evening were also very pleasant!

We spontaneously stopped by on Friday. It was full, but the staff saved the next available table for us. The food was delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly. It's a shame it's too far from home, otherwise we would definitely eat there more often.

We ate there a few days ago and were both extremely disappointed. We had Tantanmen ramen, which tasted completely burnt, so we couldn't even finish it (we couldn't identify what caused this inedible taste). Since we eat ramen very often at other restaurants, we can say that this isn't normal. The pak choi and pork belly were undercooked at all, and the pickled eggs weren't pickled at all, but simply boiled eggs...but since the menu stated "pickled," we ordered an extra portion, which was essentially cheating... Unfortunately, none of the servers asked us at the end whether we enjoyed our meal, so we didn't have a chance to comment. We were very disappointed and wouldn't go back for the money. It was also incredibly loud because it was so crowded and the room was so incredibly small. It didn't feel very comfortable...

Super delicious, authentic food and a very nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the young waitress ignored us for a while after we arrived, and if you don't want to sit in the staff's cigarette smoke, you shouldn't sit in the backyard. Otherwise, everything was top-notch.

If you know and love Japanese food, you'd better not go there. Ramen is okay, but not authentic. The other dishes are like someone cooked your grandma's recipe and got it wrong—simply disappointing. Aside from that, half the interior was flooded with fruit flies.

Last night we were in ramen heaven—at least in terms of taste. The noodles were so delicious that we immediately ordered more. Unfortunately, the order went more like a side quest in a video game: You take the noodles, wait, get an "are you okay?" quest marker—and then... nothing happened. After what felt like three seasons of "Waiting for Noodles," they finally arrived. Fresh, delicious, perfect—all problems were forgotten. But then came the bonus mission: a free drink as an apology. Great idea! Unfortunately, this mission never delivered. To this day, it's probably still open in the kitchen, probably alongside Half-Life 3. Conclusion: The ramen was fantastic, the waiters were super friendly—but the logistics of the bonus quests desperately need to be patched. I'll be back anyway because the food is just too good... but this time I might bring my own spare noodles and drinks just to be safe.

The ramen I ordered was delicious. It's great to have something like this in the area. I was hoping for a bit more from the chashu (it was a bit salty), but it was still solid.

To be short, we didn’t have a very pleasant experience at this restaurant. The food was okay, but not as tasty as I expected, we didn’t finish our meals. The restaurant itself is quite dirty, the menu is very old and dirty, it’s disgusting to touch it. It was quite hot inside, no air conditioning, the flies were everywhere. There was no toilet paper in WC. The staff was neutral.

Two of us went there and were very impressed. The miso ramen was great, both vegan and regular. There were plenty of veggie options, and we loved everything we tried. I loved everything and can highly recommend it. Update: This is the third time we've traveled from Bavaria to eat here. It's worth it.

I've eaten there several times now and have always been impressed. I always enjoy the food. The restaurant itself isn't that big, but that's not a problem. However, you should reserve in advance, otherwise you might not get a table if you show up spontaneously, especially with a larger group. You can sit inside or outside. The only thing I might have to criticize is the staff. Sometimes the staff doesn't seem very friendly, but otherwise, I highly recommend it; you can overlook that.

It tasted okay, but it wasn't quite my style. The girls were very nice. However, you have to wait forever for the food; we waited at least 40 minutes.

The ramen and katsu menu were very tasty. The onigiri were also highly recommended, with salmon and tuna. Unfortunately, the onigiri fell apart after one bite, but they tasted great. Friendly service and a nice decor.

We were there with a group of 6 people. Making a reservation was a bit complicated, but it worked out in the end. The service was very friendly and accommodating! However, I felt like they were a bit over-served with so many seats, as the wait was really long! I think it's a shame that you have to pay for packaging if you have leftover food. That should really be standard service. As for the food: the ramen tasted good; I personally had the fried noodles with vegetables, but unfortunately, there was very little vegetables in it. It was still tasty, though. Another positive is that the portions are very large. We found it a bit odd that so many things were sold out. Even something like Spezi. The ambiance of the restaurant is typical of Marburg. Small, cramped, a bit too warm, but cozy. The outdoor seating looks very inviting! Generally, we can definitely recommend this place!

I'm no ramen expert, but I've eaten ramen in many restaurants in Germany and Japan because I really love the dish. Based on the many positive reviews, we decided to have dinner here. Unfortunately, I can't agree with the previous reviewers, as our expectations were disappointed. The vegetarian gyoza appetizer was okay—nothing special, but not bad either. We didn't expect too much here either. I definitely want to highlight the mugi cha, which was really delicious and refreshing and reminded me of Japan. The ramen, however, was very disappointing for both of us. We each had miso ramen, one vegan, the other regular. What really shocked me was that the noodles were unfortunately still hard and didn't seem to have a fully cooked texture. Aside from the taste, this made it difficult to eat the ramen properly because you couldn't slurp the noodles at all. The egg, which you have to order separately here, was hard-boiled and served cold. You'd expect a slightly soft yolk from a ramen, and definitely a warm egg. The vegetables were mostly fine, but the bok choy was too raw for my taste, but everyone has their own preferences. Overall, we would have expected more from a restaurant specializing in ramen. We were both disappointed and won't be returning.

I really wanted to give this place more stars, but I can't. The food was average at best, but most of it was tasteless. All our dishes - be it curry, ramen or Häppchen - lacked any taste. Some of the fried snacks were completely cold on the inside. The service was good, but the waiting time was incredibly long - I think it took an hour to prepare the main dishes.

Very tasty ramen, but with a few minor drawbacks. The noodles and broth were truly excellent – full of flavor and perfectly balanced. The ideal texture of the noodles is particularly noteworthy: wonderfully elastic and pleasantly firm to the bite, just what you'd want in ramen. We were a bit surprised, however, by the large amount of corn and scallions. These ingredients unfortunately overpowered the delicate flavor of the noodles and left them feeling a bit heavy. Next time, we'd probably ask for them to be omitted. The freshly tapped beer didn't quite convince us either – while it was still bearable, it had a noticeable sour note that suggested a lack of freshness. Those lucky enough to get a seat by the window will be rewarded with a wonderful view of a charming half-timbered square – a truly magical atmosphere!

The ramen itself was delicious (miso & tantanmen), but the wait was over 40 minutes, even though ramen is more of a "fast food" dish. The eggs described as "pickled eggs" on the menu seemed more like regular hard-boiled eggs.

Service was only provided after being asked for. Tea was served without tea bags. These were only brought after repeated requests. The air in the bar was very stuffy. The food was delicious.

I'm giving it 2 stars because the service was really friendly. The food was a complete disappointment. The okonomyaki was too hard on the edges and too soft on the inside. Why I paid €2.50 for cheese on the okonomyaki remains a mystery. Even after searching intensively, I couldn't find even a trace of cheese, let alone any trace of flavor. When I asked, I was told they wouldn't put that much cheese on it... The yakisoba were so carelessly prepared, I could have gotten better ones at any Asian takeaway for half the price. Zero seasoning, not a trace of Asian flavors, just a few pan-sautéed noodles with a bit of vegetables and exactly four shrimp. The homemade special sauce was nowhere to be found. As for the ambiance: it looked very simple inside, but that was still okay, just a bit lackluster. The garden, on the other hand, was simply neglected. I really enjoy Japanese food, but I didn't encounter any Japanese flavor in this restaurant.

Ate ramen for the first time today, but it tasted too garlicky for me. The gyozas were really delicious, though, as were the onigiri and teriyaki salmon. Service was amazing :)!

We travel a lot and eat out often, but we'll definitely never go to this restaurant again. And it wasn't because of the food, which was generally good, and I've never had the wakame like this anywhere else; they were particularly good. Otherwise, the staff urgently need training in service and problem management. We entered the restaurant at 9:15 p.m. on Friday and were allowed to choose a seat. It was well-stocked, but nowhere near full. Our order was taken at 9:25 p.m., and the drinks arrived at 9:40 p.m. Shortly after 10 p.m., I politely inquired about the food after all the tables around us (including the one occupied after us) had been served, but we were getting hungrier. Delays do happen, but the service team has to inform the guest without being asked and, at best, put whatever is available on the table on the house to tide them over. But only after being asked about any delays in the kitchen, while all other tables were being served, was extremely unprofessional and seemed very implausible in the setting (the neighboring table was being served nonstop, although it was also unclear whether these were guests or employees on their own time, which is also bad form). At 10:10 p.m., the appetizers finally arrived (again without a word of apology), and another 10 minutes or so later, the food arrived. At that time, we were also asked for the first time if we wanted another drink; before that, the waitress had only been there twice to announce that it was the last round. Up to this point, I would have still given it 3 stars, because the food (presumably the last meal shortly before the kitchen closed) was okay. But when the kitchen crew then loudly complains about the guests at the next table while you're having dinner, regardless of the guests present (extremely derogatory; unfortunately, I'm not allowed to write the exact words here, otherwise the review won't be published), then even one star is actually too many. We've never experienced anything like that in a restaurant before; it truly stunned us. We then paid immediately and, for the first time in our lives, didn't leave a tip. As I was leaving, I mentioned it at the bar, but it wasn't taken seriously there either. I have NEVER advised anyone not to visit a restaurant, even if I didn't like it that much, but in this case, I'm doing so for the first time: People, avoid this place!

The food was delicious. We took food to go, didn't have to wait long for takeout, and could have even used reusable packaging. The ramen was delicious—but we forgot to order meat, which wasn't a problem.

Unfortunately, I was so hungry that I forgot to take a photo of the soup. The food was delicious and the portions were quite generous. All the staff were very friendly. Keep up the good work – I'd love to come again!

This ramen bar was recommended to me by many people, so of course I had to go. The food tasted phenomenal! Large portions, beautifully presented, friendly staff, and a great location! Fresh and prepared with love! Highly recommended! This little place is even better than some of the hyped ramen restaurants in Frankfurt.

If I say I drove all the way from Munich just to eat okonomiyaki here, I'd be exaggerating, but whenever I'm in Marburg, I eat here. This weekend, I even ate here twice. Simply delicious and friendly. Reservations are absolutely essential.

Fast and friendly service, but the ramen tasted absolutely terrible. The noodles were undercooked and had a strange floury taste in their mouth. The broth tasted more like vegetable broth than miso. We got another one. But we won't know if it tasted good until we get home.

The BEST ramen I've ever eaten. It's so incredibly delicious! It's a shame that the leftovers I brought with me went bad the following day. But I would come back there any time. Everyone gets fed up here! And the gyoza were also super tasty. I found the veggie gyoza tastier than the chicken one.

Very bad experience. The food was not well cooked, too sour and too raw. Never again! You ask twice for cutlery, you don't get any, you had to go and ask again yourself! And also ordered a cold matcha latte, latte means milk, but it was without milk.

I've tried ramen all over the world and will therefore allow myself to comment on the Shoyu Ramen that I ate during my visit to 957 Ramen Bar. The service and waiting times are good here. Starter, chicken gyoza was great! Now to the shoyu ramen. Portion size is good. Broth: The heart of the soup and in principle the whole restaurant clearly lacks umami, it tasted very thin and boring, more reminiscent of a standard run-of-the-mill soup broth. I've had much better ramen in Germany. Noodles: Were quite good, with still a bit of bite Toppings: Way too many bamboo shoots for my taste, you could never enjoy the pure noodles without having mountains of bamboo with you. Also a huge mountain of corn, what felt like an entire can as a topping, the conditions here don't match. The chashu (pork belly) was very tasty, tender and rich. Overall the visit was good, but the heart of the ramen, the broth, is a lot of room for improvement for my taste.

Food is tasty but expensive and there is little space

I had to pay twice because after the first time the table reservation machine said that no payment had been made yet. I was kind enough to pay a second time. My details were taken down and I was told “I could come in if there was a double charge”. The amount was deducted from the account twice, the owner wanted to take care of the check and repayment - now she no longer reports and the money is gone.

Super nice outdoor area, very nice service. Unfortunately, I have never had such bad food in any (including many Asian) countries around the world. Maybe you should stick with ramen here, they look good, and the other things might not be recommended? I couldn't believe what I was eating because I was very hungry and tried it for a while... like no one had ever tried it before, really bad. There were several small dishes, all of them nothing. The rice was good ;)

I was very excited about the ramen bar! The food was fantastic, the prices were fair and the staff was very friendly. There's something new in Marburg, away from the well-known restaurants - a clear top recommendation! The only negative point: The noise level is very high due to the many people in a small space and it is therefore extremely loud at times. Therefore there are only three stars for the otherwise very nice ambience. Still definitely worth a visit!

We went to the Ramen Bar years ago and found it to be mediocre to bad. Yesterday we were so craving ramen that we gave the Ramen Bar another chance and we were blown away by the taste. Highly recommended and the outside terrace is also great to sit on in the summer. We'll be back!

We were on a city tour in Marburg and as big fans of Japanese cuisine we ended up in the Ramen Bar. That's the first and only point of criticism: Ramen Bar just doesn't cut it. It is a full Japanese restaurant with a very large selection and of the things we ordered, everything was extremely good. The okonomiyaki was delicious, the eggplant was also very good, the kids basically inhaled their various -age (= fried foods). And we ate the most incredibly delicious pancakes here. These caramel pancakes completely blew your socks off. Absolute recommendation!

The food was mega! It could have been a little warmer, but it was actually a pleasant temperature, I just personally banned really hot food. The young waiter with brown hair was also very nice and helpful. Would come again as soon as we are back in Marburg!

Food looked great before I ate it and was unique! It was a very full day, but the food still took a surprisingly long time. But it was worth the wait because, as I said, the taste was a 10/10

957 reasons not to eat ramen at this place. Not very tasty. The chicken broth is not salty at all. The pork is terribly oversalted. It feels like you threw a mug of salt. The broths are empty. The noodles are overcooked. The chicken addition is a piece of batter with the skin on it. But they threw corn in as if it were corn soup. This is the worst ramen I've ever eaten. It's not even ramen, it's just some kind of soup in any form.

The food tastes very tasty and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. My ramen was served to me quicker than expected, it's large portions.

Unfortunately, both of our ramen were lukewarm and one was even cold. Even after complaining about the cold ramen and warming it up again, it was only lukewarm.

Food is always very good, service is nice and friendly. Personally, the place is a bit cramped for me. But it still somehow has its charm. In winter, however, the operator should find a solution for the doors. It was pretty cold.

There is no alternative in the area - this is the only ramen bar that I know of within a 50 km radius. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is chic. Everything has been going perfectly so far, except on my last visit when the soup arrived cold. But the friendly waiter with the mustache immediately took the soup back and brought it back warm. Great service!

Very tasty food, great service and good ambience. I recommend the fried chicken as a starter. Unfortunately, there is not enough air circulation, which is why you smell strongly of the food after your visit and the window even fogs up due to the high humidity.

One of the best restaurants in Marburg. We really enjoy eating there and have never been disappointed. Consistently very good food, nice ambience and very nice staff.

We were here for the first time. Ambiance is great, nice little shop with a good view (if you get the window seat). Service was nice, everything was fine. The food was great, highly recommended!
