I was here on March 27, 25 shortly after the reopening. The conversion and renovation was mega!!! It looks like a restaurant from 1001 Nights. So ambience 100 points!
Update 03/30/25
So I definitely can't recommend the kebab plate. Too bad.
There are 2 skewers, kebab was very tasty, nice soft fluffy bread, not as crispy toasted as is the trend everywhere at the moment, really still a good old school kebab.
Attention, there are large and small kebabs, 0.33 and 0.5 drinks. So don't let the price fool you, I was surprised why I had to pay more than I saw on the menu, but instead of a small kebab and a 0.33 drink, I had a large kebab and a 0.5 drink, hence the higher price. But the price is okay for a kebab, but maybe €1 too much for a small place like Ottenau. Doner kebab costs €8.50. What I found expensive was the €3 for a drink. No paper towels in the men's room. Hence 1 star deduction.
Antalya is an enrichment for Ottenau. With the two predecessors, diarrhea was always inevitable after eating.
I uploaded a few current photos.
Update: 03/30/25
We wanted to get something on Saturday, but it was closed, but according to the flyer it was open.
Bought a kebab plate with fries to take away today, unfortunately not recommended.
Update:
I got an Antalya pizza today, inedible, unfortunately from 4 to 2 stars.
Up Up Update:
Ordered Yufka today, €9!!!!!!! Didn't know that Ottenau was in Los Angeles 😂 And the best thing of all, because of 20 grains of corn, I paid €9.50 for a Yufka!!!!
OVERALL CONCLUSION after several visits: 1 STAR!!!
We order there often because it tastes really good. I think the pide with soft cheese, spinach and egg is the best I've eaten so far. I still order the kebab sauce with it, which is also really good. Yesterday I accidentally ordered the pide with soft cheese with minced meat. It was clearly my mistake. We then called and asked if we could have a new one and it could be delivered, even though the minimum order value had not been reached. The owner was extremely friendly, made a new pide immediately and had it delivered. What's more, he didn't even want the money for the pide we ordered, even though this was our mistake. The service is really top. We only order there. Super nice and extremely accommodating people there! Best kebabs!
Very disappointed, I ordered an Adana plate with fries. The Adana wasn't juicy as it should be, it was dry and not fresh either. It was definitely warmed up again on the grill and therefore charred and the fries were cold. The basement was converted into a gaming room and part of the dining area was equipped with slot machines. Although it was structurally separate, there was still an entrance for all areas. I had the feeling that I was dining in a gaming room.
I've been a customer here for years and I always feel very comfortable here, like I'm part of a family - you can tell it's a family business 🥙
You can now also pay with a card 💳, which is finally great 🙌🏼
The food here tastes very, very tasty. My tip would be the kebab plate, kebab and pizza kebab 🍕
Naja, was soll ich sagen ?
