The accommodation is very clean and tidy, the location is really nice, right on the Elbe. Unfortunately, we were there exactly at the time of the impending flood, so it was a bit scary. There are two reasons for the deduction. We asked several times whether it would be possible to arrive an hour earlier. We didn't get an answer. When the outside temperature was 12 degrees and it was constantly raining, we asked whether it would be possible to turn on the heating or whether we could have a fan heater. So that we can get our things dry and get some heat in the bathroom for showering. Unfortunately, the service here wasn't exactly solution-oriented, to put it diplomatically. Actually a great inn, the hospitality is lacking.

We, 7 people, had a reservation for Saturday and were faced with a locked door. Since we don't come from Meißen, we didn't know that the restaurant was closed. We would have expected a rejection from the staff, especially since we reserved by email. Disappointing. The Ratskeller in Meißen surprised us even more positively. We had a great evening here. Clear recommendation!!!

Once and never again! My husband and I were at the Elbtalschmiede on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024 and were very disappointed! The staff barely understood us, seemed completely overloaded, the food was totally overpriced for the taste, the hamburger was burnt, the fries were bland and dry, the potatoes were black and we waited for over an hour... we'll accept the wait if it tastes good and is fresh is prepared... but far from it! Nobody sees us there anymore - what a shame! Ambience good - but that's it!

Thanks to the hotel, kitchen, and service teams, the celebration of my milestone birthday was a successful and memorable one. A perfect evening with a view over the magnificent old town of Meissen.

The area is fenced, cleared, locked and overgrown (as of August 2022). Too bad. I wanted to spend a warm late summer afternoon here. The photos make such a nice impression.

A very stylish place, with a wonderful atmosphere, loving decoration and very attentive staff 👌 I was visiting the factory with visitors from outside who had never visited Meißen before, were very impressed with my choice of the first meeting point, the subsequent exhibition was very enthusiastic continued!! For me there was nothing to complain about in terms of coffee and sweet pastries = excellent 😃👍🤩
