Once and never again! My husband and I were at the Elbtalschmiede on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024 and were very disappointed! The staff barely understood us, seemed completely overloaded, the food was totally overpriced for the taste, the hamburger was burnt, the fries were bland and dry, the potatoes were black and we waited for over an hour... we'll accept the wait if it tastes good and is fresh is prepared... but far from it! Nobody sees us there anymore - what a shame! Ambience good - but that's it!

Today we had dinner at the Elbtalschmiede. The food was very tasty and the employees were very friendly.

We were there on Saturday August 31, 24 and ate there. The location is very nice. Great view of the Elbe from the terrace The food is or was miserable. In the last 4 years, including the company canteen, I have never received this type of food. For such a price you have to expect more. Taste was subterranean. We all only ate half, if at all. The hunger was stronger. My wife had problems with her stomach and intestines the whole day afterwards. For the life of me I can't understand all the good reviews. The pictures don't make sense to me - the chef probably changed or was sick. For me and my family one thing is certain: We don't come here anymore. No recommendation and advice to go somewhere else. You can expect much more here. We drove home sad, hungry and sick.

We came here during a bike ride. Great bigos! Delicious dumplings. Beer is always good :) Service in Polish :) I recommend it with a clear conscience!!

A very cozy and friendly atmosphere. There is a bit of a feeling of home when you are served by such friendly compatriots. The food is delicious and we would definitely like to come back.

I was there today for a quick hop after fishing. The staff very friendly and very attentive. The ambience next to the vines with a view of the Elbe is beautiful. Everything is very neat and lovingly furnished. The prices are completely reasonable for today's times. I would love to come back and can only recommend it. Best regards

We stopped for lunch on a bike ride. Matjes and burgers were very tasty. The juice spritzers too. The meal took a while, but it was really worth it. I can highly recommend it.

Very nice view of the Elbe, it's great to drink. Food is miserable. The goat cheese with salad and bread consisted mainly of toast and beetroot from a jar, the tarte flambée dough was a ready-made wrap and the tomato soup had no taste.

Location, ambience in the restaurant and service are really good. When it comes to food, the price/performance ratio is not right for me. The food and do has nothing to do with the home cooking mentioned. The menu is very manageable, there is nothing for vegetarians except salad.

Hello! I would like to add the following to Mr. Junghans' review from July 15, 2024. The fact that we reserved online is true, as I made the reservation myself and received confirmation from you by email with the words “Good evening, I am saving your reservation. Greetings (see photo). We also showed these to the staff. The staff was friendly, but completely overwhelmed by the situation. Although there were few guests, with our group (12 people) around 25, we waited almost 11/2 hours for the food. Using Google Translate (the staff spoke German poorly) we were informed that they apologized for the long waiting time and that there was a discount for it. This was no longer mentioned when paying. All guests who came after 7 p.m. were sent away on the grounds that the kitchen had already closed, although the restaurant didn't close until 9 p.m. Overall, we were very disappointed and won't be returning there any time soon.

We had reserved online, via email with confirmation, which apparently wasn't registered in the restaurant. After we had put together tables and familiarized ourselves with the menu, which was full of spelling errors, we had to wait over an hour for the food. During this time, at least 6 families were sent away because the kitchen was supposedly closed 1 1/2 hours before the actual closing time. After a waitress promised us a discount using Google Translate due to the long waiting time, our food arrived. The portions were very small, burnt and didn't have much in common with the expected food. The preparation time is also absolutely not justified for a schnitzel or a matjes, which are so tiny and short that you hardly get full!!! Last but not least, we didn't get any discounts. It should be mentioned that the prices for this service are almost outrageous. Absolutely not recommended!!!

Delicious home cooking. Immediate service and good service. The only drawback is that payment is only possible in cash. So always take cash with you!

We were in the Elbtalschmiede for the first time and were thrilled. The ambience and service are great, it's just stupid that you can't pay with an EC card.

Very courteous service and atmospheric ambience with a great view of the Elbe. The food was also very good. Authentic Bigos with Kiełbaski (sausages) and beef absolutely delicious. Admittedly the place isn't exactly cheap, but it's something special. Only paying in cash wasn't a problem for me.

Food very good, service and ambience also OK. The side salad was very, very tasty!! However, card payments directly at the entrance are excluded here. I find it very special that the defect in the card reading terminal is mentioned directly in the menu - I have never experienced that before. So all we could do was scrape together our cash, drink water and save on tips. We all know why card payments are not possible here.

It's always beautiful here. The food tastes delicious 😋, a good mix of German and Polish cuisine. The girls in service are super friendly. I can only recommend the Elbtalschmiede.

Nice restaurant with actually nice service. Unfortunately the food wasn't it. The Polish dish was actually chicken stuffed with cheese. It was probably supposed to be a special way of preparation, as it was served breaded in the form of a pointed cocoon. Unfortunately it was the bare industrial breading and completely dry and hard. The moisture from the coleslaw made it easy to eat. I would even go so far as to say that apart from the fried potatoes, everything in my food was ready-to-cook and industrially produced. Plus, it shouldn't be a problem to switch from fries to fried potatoes at a price of €22. I could do it too but it cost another €2. That's petty at this price. I just expected better cuisine. My partner's Rostbrätl was also dry meat and not what you normally make Rostbrätl from. A pity. The dishes are priced between €17-24, so you shouldn't just use them from the freezer. The only annoying thing was that the waitress couldn't handle our honest answer to her question about whether it was good and everything was OK.... She got a bit snappy and even sent someone else to collect the money.

The plan was to have a leisurely lunch with my daughter. Unfortunately, both dishes (baked chicken, schnitzel) were totally over salted. We then asked the waitress to come to the table and explained to her the unsuccessful meal. I asked for another dish which was simply ignored. The “service person” came back after a minute and just replied “Sorry from the kitchen”! At the same time, I noticed a couple having problems with their payment. There was no indication anywhere that EC card payments were not possible. They didn't have enough cash and I offered to pay €10 in cash in exchange for a Paypal payment. The next surprise came with the payment. When the bill was presented, I politely asked for a discount because of the oversalted cooking. The lady then disappeared again and came back shortly afterwards and said, “There is no discount because we have already eaten some of the meat”. We paid and left the place disappointed. I can only advise against this juice shop!!! Mistakes can happen anywhere, but the fact that you, as a paying customer/tourist, are ignored like this is simply unbelievable. I will advise everyone in my circle of friends not to go to this place. P.S. Dear owner, I didn't finish the small portion and I'm not a cheater either. We didn't want anything for free and even gave the service person a tip. Luckily I had witnesses. Good luck for continued success!

The entire meal was completely over salted, I could have drunk from a sea of ​​salt with a meal like that! I didn't even get a refund! I'll never eat at this juice shop again!

Just great. We felt very comfortable and toys and painting materials were also provided for children. The food was fantastic and definitely everything was homemade and fresh. Only recommended. The view rounds everything off perfectly. Thank you for the very good hospitality. See you soon.

Wir waren am 2. Weihnachtsfeiertag zum Mittagessen hier. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Essen kam schnell und war sehr lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Service is sehr freundlich... Aber das Feiertagsessen war eine Katastrophe...die Vorspeise war okay...und was uns dann als Hauptspeise serviert wurde...ging ma garne...hab ich noch nicht erlebt...am liebsten hätte ich bloß Getränke und die Vorspeisen gezahlt... erbärmlich ...trifft es vielleicht.........

Ein tolles Restaurant , sehr nette und zuvorkommende Bedienung , schmackhafte Getränke - Eigenkreationen und ein perfektes Essen. Die Entenbrust war auf den Punkt perfekt und mehr als reichlich. In diesem Sinne auch ein sehr gutes Preis - Leistungsverhältnis. Wir können es nur empfehlen. Der Ausflug lohnt sich.

Wir würden jederzeit wieder einkehren, das Essen war für uns sehr schmackhaft gewesen mit einer super freundlichen Bedienung. Und die Aussicht ist einfach auch total genial.

Kurzfristige Tischbestellung heute von unterwegs und alles war super. Die Wirtin und Angestellten waren sehr freundlich. Das Essen wurde frisch zubereitet und hat vorzüglich geschmeckt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Hingesetzt, Speisekarte angesehen, wieder gegangen. Preise schamlos überzogen. Pasta mit Lachs 23.-, Burger mit Pommes 17,90. 0,2 Wein 7,90. Da überschätzt sich jemand. Sieht man ja auch, wie er auf Bewertungen regiert.

Ist halt eine Gaststätte am Elberadweg. Man muss ein wenig Zeit einplanen. Eine Mischung aus deutscher und polnischer Küche. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Würde gern mehr Punkte geben. Toller Service, lecker und Preis-Leistung stimmt.

Ich war begeistert. Freundliche Bedienung. Das Essen wurde für alle 15 Personen gleichzeitig gebracht und jedem hat es geschmeckt.

Wir haben es durch Zufall entdeckt. Wir waren zu, dritten Mal dort und es war immer noch lecker. Ich bin begeistert. Netter und freundlicher Service, selbst der Koch steckt immer mal seine Nase aus der Küche um nach den Gästen zu sehen. Gerne wieder.

Der Ort gehört zu den schönsten in Sachsen. Auf der Terrasse der Gaststätte hat man einen Blick auf die Elbe. Das Essen kommt zügig und ist sehr gut gewesen.

Wir waren das erste mal hier, mein Mann hatte ein gemütliches Restaurant mit schönen Ambiente gesucht für meinen Geburtstag und euch gefunden..,wir können es nur weiter empfehlen, nettes Personal, leckeres Essen...,wir kommen auf alle Fälle jetzt öfterer vorbei und wenn's nur auf ein Käffchen ist, wenn wir mit dem Motorrad unterwegs sind..., Macht weiter so ☀️🤗🍻

Ein gemütliches kleines Restaurant mit tollem Blick aufs Wasser. Netter Service , vorallem auch für Kinder und ein leckeres Essen dazu. Besonders den Fisch kann ich nur empfehlen.

Die Elbtalschmiede ist romantisch gelegen im schönen Elbtal. Der Ausblick von der Terrasse ist traumhaft und lädt auf jeden Fall zum verweilen ein. Der Blick auf die Speisekarte macht dann auch noch Appetit auf ein leckeres Essen. Wir hatten uns für Kaffee und Kuchen entschieden und etwas später für Burger. Sowohl der Kuchen als auch die Burger waren sehr lecker und hätten noch einen Stern mehr verdient. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt war beim Service obwohl sehr freundlich muss man mit der Art zurecht kommen

Ich war hier heute Mittag und hatte Schnitzel mit Spargel. Abends gab es Ostseescholle Finkenwerder. Beides war köstlich. Man kann auf einer gemütlichen Terrasse mit Blick auf die Elbe sitzen. Das Personal ist nett und freundlich. Bestimmt komme ich mal wieder vorbei, wenn ich in Meissen bin.

Was soll ein Sonntag mehr bringen! Schöne Location, direkt an der Elbe. Frühling, Sonne, fließendes Gewässer. Lasst euch bei Wein und Flammkuchen verwöhnen, weitere Köstlichkeiten findet ihr in der Karte (es hat in jedem Fall alles lecker geklungen nur dafür war heute keine Zeit)!

30.10.22. Spontan angehalten nach einer langen Radtour. Sehr schönes Schnitzel mit leckerem Gemüse und Kartoffeln (frisch) & Bigos (Polnisch) gegessen. Der Glühwein hat ebenfalls begeistert. Schönes Ambiente, familiäres Flair. Karfreitag 07.04.23 zweiter Besuch😃 Alles Super💯😜

Abwechslungsreiche deutsch polnische Küche, für jeden Geschmack ist was passendes dabei. Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Preise sind akzeptierbar.

Gerne wieder, essen war lecker und liebevoll weihnachlich dekoriert ,aber an der kellnerkleidung müsste man noch etwas verbessern ,z.b.einheitlich dann erkennt man Sie als solche !!

Sehr unflexibeles Restorante wenn es ums essen geht!!! Teilweise unfreundliches Personal. Dann bekommt man für fünf mal Heiße Liebe nur zwei schallen mit Heiße Himbeeren. Standard wäre für jeden eine eigene schalle. ! Einfach nur schlecht !!
