A young, dedicated team impressed us across the board. Even though they were busy with a family celebration and a full house, we received a warm welcome, were offered a lovely spot overlooking the Elbe River, and enjoyed attentive and friendly service and excellent food. We were here at Easter; it's a very nice restaurant with friendly staff. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we had to wait a very long time for our food. The food tasted good, but the expensive asparagus wasn't peeled properly, which was quite annoying. We'll try it again without asparagus.

There were three of us, and we had a reservation for 6:30 pm. The food was very tasty and plentiful. Unfortunately, several things marred the overall impression. First, the chicken burger was already sold out, and shortly after, the fries were practically gone as well. When we wanted to order dessert around 7:30 pm, the kitchen was already closed. On the plus side, this is announced on the website, but as a customer, you don't necessarily expect so many items to be unavailable so early. The waitress was friendly but seemed very nervous and rushed. Overall, the food was good, but there's room for improvement in the organization.

You don't find such fantastic and friendly service everywhere. You immediately feel at ease. We highly recommend Elbtalschmiede and will definitely be back. We had a wonderful wine evening yesterday at the Elbtalschmiede in Meißen! With a delicious three-course meal and three marvelous wines, perfectly selected for us by the enchanting "Vine Fairy" (Antje Peschel, the 36th Wine Princess)! It was simply a fantastic evening! Very pleasantly surprised. We recently discovered it and had coffee there (just the two of us). We liked it so much that we reserved a table for lunch on Saturday for four people. We ordered four different dishes, all excellent and very quick. The price-performance ratio was more than fair. The staff was very, very friendly. Parking wasn't a problem either, except for some drivers who park their cars as if they just want a space. But that's not the staff's fault. And if three tables are booked at the same time, it might take a little longer, but you should be understanding about that. In any case, we really like it there, so we immediately booked and paid for an event in January.

We stumbled upon this restaurant a few weeks ago for coffee, and yesterday we returned for lunch with four people, having made a reservation. We ordered four different dishes, and everything was excellent. The service was very friendly, the food arrived quickly, and we felt the price-performance ratio was right. Of course, if several tables order at the same time, it might take a little longer, but that's the case everywhere. In any case, we've already booked our next visit for January. Thank you, and we'll gladly come again. The parking lot is also okay, although some people park there as if it's their own fault, but that's not the staff's fault. Some drivers need to practice parking and not just think about themselves.

We visited the Elbtalschmiede for the first time since its reopening and were very pleasantly surprised. There was already a party of 25 guests in the dining room. Due to the noise level, we were offered seats upstairs, which meant extra work for the waitress for just the two of us. We thought the service was excellent. We ordered the duck leg with Brussels sprouts and dumplings. The food was absolutely delicious 😋 and the duck leg was very large. The value for money was excellent and the staff very friendly. We felt very comfortable, will definitely come back, and wholeheartedly recommend the new Elbtalschmiede. 👍👌

The "new" Elbtalschmiede, which opened on May 1st, is a real asset to the culinary scene in Meißen. In recent years, it was a place best avoided. I celebrated my birthday there this summer and went back again today and was thrilled. A fantastic, creative selection of dishes, excellent quality, and generous portion sizes. The price was also perfectly reasonable. The service deserves special mention as well – very attentive and discreet. Keep up the good work – we'll definitely be back! 😊

I think this is a really lovely and attentive group. Our birthday girl got a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, and they offered to take photos of us so we could all be in them. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We'd love to come back. Unfortunately, we didn't photograph everything.

I went to Elbtal Schmiede for lunch today for the first time; there were five of us. The service was very friendly. The food was delicious. I had tomato soup, which was tasty and nice and piping hot. They had Martin's goose, which isn't really my thing, so instead of meat, I got two extra dumplings, which I thought was very nice. 🙏 👍 We had ice cream sundaes for dessert, which were also prepared with great care. The whole meal was superb. At the end, I gave them a crocheted heart. ❤️ The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and we'll gladly come back. 🍽 Five stars aren't enough, I give it five! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The service and the food, from appetizers to dessert, were outstanding! The salads were fresh, and the meat and fish were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was lovely and inviting. The price was right – we'll definitely be back!

We were there by horse-drawn carriage. Good food, a great atmosphere, and our requests were accommodated.

I can't rate the food and drinks, unfortunately, that didn't happen. When we wanted a drink on Tuesday around 5 p.m., we were told that the restaurant was full. Some tables were occupied, some had reserved signs. At some tables, the chairs were placed at an angle. (All on the terrace.) When we asked the waitress for a seat for two, we were told: "Well, we're full and the meal will take at least half an hour." I've rarely felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. My wife and I turned around and went to Proschwitz. We just wanted a drink... We won't try again! It's a shame, but if a restaurant doesn't want guests...

Perfect place to stop on the way along the Elbe. Everyone was incredibly friendly. I was traveling with my son. They offered a place to wait on site with a trampoline and playground, which they immediately offered. There's no better place. The food and wine are also excellent. Restaurant in a very beautiful location, right on the Elbe River. The starter soups were very good; only the fried potatoes in the main course were a bit underseasoned, but otherwise the food was good. Very friendly service.

We had a truly delicious lunch at the Elbtalschmiede while cycling along the Elbe River Cycle Path. The vegetables with the salmon fillet were a poem and exceeded our expectations.

We stopped here during a bike tour and were very surprised to find such a little gem right on the Elbe Cycle Path. They offer a good menu with fair prices. We opted for a delicious cake and coffee. Very friendly staff take care of their visitors with dedication. Plenty of outdoor seating, whether on the terrace or in the garden. There's a fairly large parking lot and a children's playground. All in all, a definite recommendation and an insider tip for cyclists and beyond ;-)

We spontaneously went to the Elbtalschmiede for dinner yesterday and were very satisfied. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was very friendly, and the food was beautifully presented. We'd be happy to come back.

Unfortunately, we don't fully understand the many positive reviews. Perhaps we were simply unlucky that day. The schnitzels were anything but crispy, far from golden brown, and drenched in fat. The panko-coated breading is a nice idea, but it needs to be executed well. You had to hunt for chanterelle mushrooms, but overall the portion was sufficient. The rump steak arrived without a fat edge, with a note saying that it had already been discarded in the kitchen. This should definitely be left to the guest, as it is a hallmark of a rump steak. Otherwise, it was cooked to perfection. The service staff, while friendly, were not well-versed in wine. Offering a lukewarm rosé is almost a disparagement of the excellent Proschwitz Cuvée. That simply shouldn't happen in a wine-growing region; 8-10 degrees Celsius is a must. Given the prices charged these days in restaurants, you can expect more. We won't be giving it a second chance. It's a shame, the location is truly beautiful.

Hello, I had dinner with my family at the Elbtalschmiede today at 12:30 p.m. Our order was taken at 12:45 p.m. After about 25 minutes, the starter arrived; it was just tomato soup. At about 1:50 p.m., the main course arrived, which consisted of two salads, a burger, and a schnitzel with fried potatoes. Except for the schnitzel and the burger, the other dishes weren't that elaborate to prepare. Furthermore, the salad was very heavily seasoned and the fried potatoes were very soft. Hence my question: why did it take so long? It was certainly the weekend and the crowds were very busy. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to hire more staff then? Rather than dismissing a review the way you did with most of the negative reviews. I spent a lot of money on this meal, and we had to wait a very long time for it. Unfortunately, I had to decide today that accurate criticism is not welcome. Furthermore, the meat in the salad was extremely heavily seasoned. I think your ban from the premises is entirely justified; I even wrote a review. What cloud are you floating on? What a shame!!!

Everyone has to decide for themselves whether a second visit is worth it. 4 adults, 1 infant 1 tomato soup 2 salads 1 burger 1 schnitzel, fried potatoes, mixed salad; all carelessly served on one plate. Wait time: 85 minutes! As we were about to leave, the food arrived. Lucky for the owner. A second chance is questionable.

The location, right on the Elbe River, is truly stunning. The restaurant is a lovely little house with a cozy terrace, and the staff was very friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. Unfortunately, the food is just standard German fare. The tomato soup, the spicy meat, the goat cheese salad, the brawn, and even the lava cake that followed were all okay. Unfortunately, it lacks that final touch to call it delicious.

After sightseeing in Meissen, I started reading Google reviews. I'd been to similar riverside restaurants in Belgium and France, so when I saw the restaurant's elevated terrace seating, I knew I'd found the right choice. It took a while for my order to arrive, but the food was carefully prepared and delicious. I think it was probably semi-processed, but I was satisfied. Above all, the view of the river and cyclists was fantastic. Although it's on the side of the road, it's quiet with almost no traffic. They don't accept Mastercard or Visa cards. I was relieved to have cash on me.

A beautiful new restaurant located directly on the Elbe River. The Elbe Cycle Path is just a few meters away. When the weather's nice, there's plenty of seating on the terrace and in the beer garden.
