My best friend invited me to dinner at this gem yesterday. I didn't know it before because Schöningen isn't exactly around the corner. What should I write? It was so worth it. The restaurant is really small. Extremely comfortable and lovingly furnished. The service was incredibly polite and accommodating. The two service staff enjoy working there. The food: a dream. Really! It tastes so great, just like grandma's! The menu is small and the prices (you can't even write) are actually too low for today's times and the top quality. In addition, every guest receives “a greeting from the kitchen” before eating. We had small pancake rolls filled with salmon with hollandaise sauce. So one each. Mjammy! If you want to eat really good German again, you have to go to "Grandma" and: definitely make a reservation! To the whole team: THANK YOU FOR A FANTASTIC EVENING!

Kudos to the chef. Last night was truly delicious. We all "only" had schnitzel, but it was really very good. We didn't expect anything less.

The Schäferstübchen has always been there, delicious food, great people and good service is what you see here, come by for food and drink, whether all together or man for man, hospitable, cozy and fine, don't just look, come on in!!! =)

Unfortunately, we came across a rude, brash employee. I was standing a little to the side and my two daughters, 16 and 19 years old, were already heading towards the sales counter. The lady behind was still drying herself off. The girls were still 1.5m away and hadn't spoken to the lady or ordered anything yet. The employee immediately shouted at my daughters: Before you do anything different (order?), you first say hello. She is fundamentally right about that. But my children haven't done anything else, haven't ordered anything, haven't asked anything or anything else. They were just on their way to the counter and had already read the cards on display. We found this cheeky behavior to be very invasive. My children are no longer thirsty and hungry, they just ordered me a coffee and my husband a cola. I tried to talk to her, but she was extremely rude to me and only let me finish after asking several times. Afterwards it turned out that it was also the boss herself. Goodness me!!

Wir waren gestern Abend zum Essen da. Geht garnicht!!! Speisekarte von Hand geschrieben, keine Auswahl. Preise viel zu hoch für fertig Futter. Wir mussten über eine Stunde auf das Essen warten. Getränke konnten auch nur bedingt nachbestellt werden. Es war auf jeden Fall unser letzter Besuch in diesem Haus.

Highly recommended. We went for dinner on Valentine's Day. There were 2 menus to choose from. The quality of the food was excellent. It was very nicely presented. The staff was very attentive without being intrusive. The price for the food was absolutely ok. It won't be our last visit.
