Very good restaurant with great service and excellent food. Great ambience and select wines round off the pleasant stay. 100% recommendation. Everything is just great! Little update on April 25th, 2025: we enjoyed an excellent menu again. Many thanks to the entire team at Alten Esel!

Ask for prices in advance if they're not on the menu. I had a salad plate (green lettuce, 2 small tomatoes, 3 mozzarella balls) with chicken strips: it was billed as a "kitchen special" for €20.50... completely overpriced!

Food was reasonably priced. Service was great.

The food was great, but unfortunately my stomach isn't used to Indian food yet 😭

Das war jeden Cent wert ! Ostern in der Drachenburg Kalbszunge mit Bandnudeln, Lammbraten mit Bratkartoffeln und Lende mit einer Eier Käse Panierung Note 1 * für jedes Gericht!!

Grim inn. We stopped here today as we were passing through. Very tasty food! Nice atmosphere, very friendly service, everything was very clean and delicious beer. If we come by here again while passing through, we will definitely stop again! THANKS to the team!

I was very disappointed. We went there to eat on Mother's Day. We had to wait 30 minutes for the drinks and then another almost an hour for the food. Not good in taste. Steak was swimming in oil and I think the schnitzel was frozen mass produced. Won't be eating there anymore. The whole family didn't like it. Even the children left their food behind because spaghetti with an indefinable sauce. 1x and not again.

Stopped in spontaneously while on vacation and luckily managed to get a spot, even though it was already very busy. If there were a lot of locals there, that's always a good sign. The atmosphere was also very nice. We ate deliciously and felt comfortable. Would love to come back.
