I witnessed a really disappointing spectacle in the kebab shop today. When my husband had already given a negative review, the owner reprimanded him directly and in an inappropriate tone - as if expressing criticism was an absolute taboo. This heated scene on site was not only disrespectful, but it completely wiped out my appetite. I watched as my husband had to defend himself in a heated discussion, even though every customer has the right to share their honest experience. Instead of leaving room for constructive feedback, the reaction was stubborn and patronizing. Such behavior leaves a bitter aftertaste that extends far beyond the food. Because of this degrading encounter, I will avoid this kebab shop in the future. I very much hope that management will at some point learn to see criticism as an opportunity for improvement instead of taking it personally and thus denying guests a respectful interaction. Regarding your comment: You claim we violated your rule by trying to enter the dining room of your snack bar with our dog. This constitutes slander! We just stood far outside the outside area because we were considering sitting outside. Before we had even reached a decision, you called my husband over to have a discussion with him about his factual review and loudly asked him to remove his review in the presence of other guests. You repeatedly emphasized that it was your snack bar and he wasn't allowed to write a review like that. All I can say about this is: There is freedom of expression in Germany. Every citizen of this country is entitled to publicly describe his/her subjective opinion regarding a service provided. This has to be accepted. As a restaurateur, you can't please everyone and if that's your goal, it's simply unattainable! We accept the rules set by service providers, regardless of the industry they belong to. Just please make it transparent and comprehensible. Sometimes we were allowed in with our dog and other days we weren't allowed, that's incomprehensible. We accepted it anyway and will NEVER comply with your rule again. It is not a regulation from the health department that dictates whether dogs are allowed in restaurants, but rather the shop owner. It goes without saying that animals have no place in the area of food preparation, including the kitchen. But banning them from the guest room based on fictitious rules is simply ridiculous. Please stick to the truth. We are not prepared to remove our honest review and in the event of a legal threat like the one you have made, I can only reply that we have very good legal protection insurance and are prepared to defend our subjective opinion.
